A few things
Hi Just started playing the game but there's a few things I need help with.
1) Can you get a dog or something? On the advert you see him walking with a dog but every dog I've seen so far just tryin a eat so I end up putting a bullet it's head.
2) how do you get a house? I'm near the beggining the simms guy got killed by the guy who wants you to blow up the bomb but I didn't then simms got killed and I haven't disabled the bomb yet but I can go in his house but not sleep in his bed or anything. Need help with this one

1, the dog is located in the scrap yard. You can locate this area by doing the quest for the girl inside moriarty salloon at megaton city the quest is called blood ties, you will find a train yard during this quest, just east of this train yard is the scrap yard with the dog... His name is dog meat.
2, this problem may require you to restart the game, since you are at the beggining it may be easier for you to do so.
When you leave the vault and level up, be sure to bring your explosives level to 25, as this level is required to disarm the bomb, when you first enter megaton speak to simms about disarming the bomb and disarm the bomb and speak to simms again and he will give you a deed to the home in megaton.

If you blow up Megaton, you will get an suite in Tenpenny Tower. If you save Megaton, you will get a house in Megaton. And the girl's name is Lucy West, incase you couldn't find her.

You can get a companion named Dogmeat from the Scrapyard. To get a house you have to either disarm the Megaton bomb(to live in Megaton) or detonate the Megaton bomb(to live in Tenpenny Tower). You cannot live in both.
