Megaton Armory + Lucas Simms Roof
What does the armory in megaton do? And what is it like inside it? Also how do you get onto Lucas Simms roof (the bit where he sometimes stands watching over the city).

The armory in Megaton has weapons and ammo in it, as well as some armor. Be careful, because there's a guard robot in there too who will attack if you poke your head inside. Pickpocket the key off of Lucas Simms to get in. It's very small, and there aren't very many weapons, armor or ammo in there, but it would still be worth going inside.
I'm not quite sure how to get to his roof, I would guess that there's a way through his house onto the roof, but that's simply a guess.

all you have to do is lock pick his door and go in then go to the second floor and look up at the ceiling and eventually you will find a hatch to lucas simms roof (the back of the plane). There's nothing to do up there except snipe the people down below... Also theres a way to get to the sniper dude at the entrance and he would wonder how you got up there... look it up on youtube. The entrance to the roof is inside the house go up the stairs an across the stairs is an entrance(look up)

There is NOTHING in there worth having the whole town after you, I lockpicked it, and mr gutsy attacked me, so I left, and the whole town started shooting at me... So I went back in, killed mr gutsy, and looked around... And was very disappointed... Just play the game a little bit and u'll get much better stuff then that,

Relating to crashdummi7's answer. If everyone in Megaton is after you, leave then return after 3 days and everyone will forget your crimes ever happened. Just be sure you get out of there alive.

The armory in megaton has all the residents weapons in there and armor to plus if you look in a cabient there will be some ammo(.44 maginum or 10mm rounds) but there is not a lot of weapons in there. You have to be aware that there is a robot in there with a plasma weapon and flamethrower. If you have a high enough lockpick skill(100 and the level is very hard) you can pick it or pickpocket lucas simms and get the key.

I waited for Lucas Simms to be killed during the power of the atom mission just in case I was caught pick pocketing and didn't want to lose karma. The used the key ran around Deputy Steel. To the terminal deactivated both robots weld and steel. And looted what I needed including the extra combat shotgun.
