-Dog(human noble origin I think)
-Alistair(Warrior)
-Morrigan(Mage)
-Leliana(Rogue)
-Zevran(Rogue)
-Wynne(Mage)
-Sten(Warrior)
-Oghren(Warrior)
-Shale(Warrior)(Stone Prisoner DLC)

Gam3eDudez has the main characters and you always have a chance to get the dog as any backround and there is a way to get a secret character at some point in the game (its Logane, or whatever his name is).

All Possible companions are as follows:
Dog(may have to do quest in ostagar)
Allistair(automatticaly added to party in ostagar)
Morrigan (you get her after ostogar)
Sten (in lothering stuck in cage)
Leliana (in lothering at tavern)
Zevran (after a cutscene of loghain hiring assassins or something)
Wynne (at the mage tower)
Oghren (in orzammar when you go to look for branca)
Loghain (near end, you can choose to kill him though)
(If you have Stone Prisoner DLC you can get Shale)
