How do you kill the monster in the volcano with the big hand

It is on xbox when we get to the fire breathing monster his hand is wrapped around a door and you have to retrieve a wheel

You have to defeat the actual dragon. You either have to combo the enemy that he lets in or you can use the magic jump.
