Question for Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare

I played it the first time on Xbox live and it was awesome but I notice when I killed people I got - pionts. Then I sayed it was interupted so it put us back at the xbox live menu thing and I tryed to play teamdeath macht and it wouldnt let me play it or any others so what happened and what can I do to play on xbox live again?
