Borderlands 2 has an auto-save feature, along with manual saves (accessed through the start menu). Whenever you see the blue Borderlands icon, the game is saving itself and you should not shut your console off until the logo dissapears

there does not seem to be any other way to save and it is a total drag to have to keep going through sections of this game over and over. I am pobably going to pullit.

Same issue here, I played for 3 hours yesterday, I had selected [Quit] and it said [quit without saving?] or [Cancel?] giving me the impression that it must have auto saved most of the progress. But I had to start at the Very Beginning Again as nothing was saved!!!

If you are playing on X box 360 it will be because you don't have enough room on your storage device just simply change the storage device and the save and quit.

The auto save is a bit backwards but i still think it is not that bad, though it does not save like it does in say Skyrim or Fallout but it does save your stats, mission and progress. It when you quit and start a new game you will start where you first entered the map area.Like for example if you enter Sanctuary but your last auto save is near the loot chest then when you start again you will start where you first enter Sanctuary.

With the drop in,drop out co-op it makes it harder to save anywhere as most games that due that will load your last point of save so if last time you did a manual save was on another map that where you would spawn.

I don't know know how to save the game to play another game but it said quit without saving so I haven't done anything because I'm really far into the game and I don't want it to delete all the progress I've made so I have just left it on the pause menu

Same here, got a good way into the game and am finding that the current level restarts even though I'm through it to the end. Had to replay 3 times.
