Ok, If you are playing on easy, I recommend just heavy fire from your shotgun. If playing on a harder difficulty, you may have to be a bit tactical. A great way to kill Big Daddys are to use armor piercing rounds. If you are a bit later in the game, try rigging a trap using proximity mines or using crossbow bolts, including trip wire bolts, those combined can make a deadly concoction into eliminating you Big Daddy problem.
If you have a grenade launcher that works extremely well agaisnt them, then when their health is low a couple of armour piercing rounds from the pistol will finish him off.
I like to set prox mines in a line(trap bolts work too) and then get them to charge me, or if it's a Roisie, get em to come towards me. Or you could get them in water for the electro-zap
The best way to kill Big Daddies is mentioned in the hints, and by personal experience I know this is true. Buy or build as many armour-piercing ammo for all possible guns and just fire away. I used the pistol and machine gun and it worked pretty easily
Armour pierceing rounds but don't use them unless you have the 20 round pistols clip do what I do go ghostbusters style with electric gel from the chem thrower use electric buck and heat seaking rpgs DONT USE TELEKENISES ON THEM IT ONLY ANGERS THEM P.S DONT USE the launcher on the rosies
