opening video crossbow...where is it in game?

On the opening video sequence, Altair has a crossbow on his back & uses it to kill the guards before he assissnates his target, however on the game there is only throwing knives. I would have thought that maybe there would have been some kinda upgrade as you progressed later in the levels. Any ideas or just that it could appear in later sequels?

Yeah you pretty much got it. I was hoping throughout the whole game to get upgraded to a cross bow. Don't know why they did that but there will be a few improvements in the sequel.

Some guy in some other question said that if you beat the game and then start it on hard you get a crossbow... Havent tried it yet though...

Whoever said to start the game on hard was wrong because you can't even pick a difficulty unless there is a way which I havnt seen

You can't get a crossbow it has been replaced by throwing knives because assassins usually don't use a crossbow. The scene was made one year before the game and the crossbow is replaced because it needs reloading and it will become too easy if you use a crossbow.

I don't know. I have seen guys saying on other game sites that you will get it when you have jumped from every leap of faith places in the game. On the other hand that sounds like a game freak idea, so I don't think it's true.

It does'nt work. Iv done everything in the game, and you don't get the crossbow. It looked so promising to use.

Somebody I know told me you can find the crossbow on a rooftop but its kinda pointless to look on every rooftop for the crossbow, i even saw some guy had it in the game on youtube for a game trailor. (NOT the opening video)

The awesome Crossbow didn't make it to the Final version of the game and isn't in Assassin's Creed II either.But guess what,Ubisoft has confirmed that the Crossbow will be in Assassin's Creed:Brotherhood the direct sequal to Assassin's Creed II.

I just got done completing every view point in the game to get the cross bow. A video game cheat site said to do this to unlock it. Now I just learned that you can't get it. After all this bull S**T and a F*****G waste of time I can't unlock it or use it!!! WTF!!! This P****S ME

Youi get a crossbow by getting all flags in maysaf (or it might be all together im not sure im still trying)

This maybe 3 yrs after AC1 came out but in the AC1 Beta there was a Crossbow

The crossbow was in the beta of assassins creed it was never in assassins creed two and it is in assassins creed brotherhood smiley face just wish they didn't cut it from the first one...:/

Crossbows have been around for ever since roman times ballistas are basicly a large version and yes there are many crossbows in that period but sucks I want my altair to have a crossbow=]
