Theres a range of weapons each in different catagories. First is the primary weapon where you can unlock machine guns shotguns, gattling gun and grenade launchers. Secondary weapon is only pistols and submachine guns, and you can't duel weild.
Then there is the special weapon which is mostly a sniper rifle but you can also unlock a RPG.

You can hold one gun from each catagory plus grenades
