In Franchise mode the downside about your team winning the Superbowl is that you will have the 32nd selection in the draft. This can be avoided by trading your draft picks for the draft picks of the team with the worst record just before the Week 6 trade deadline. The CPU will always accept this trade and that team will usually finish in the bottom 5 in the NFL standings. Another way to avoid drafting last is to wait until Week 17 and turn off the trade deadline in your Franchise mode settings. Make the swap for a guaranteed First Overall pick and then turn the deadline back on so that no CPU teams can take advantage.
