If you want a scoped rifle on the 1st mission go inside the barn which has the ammunition and walk around it and you will be asked if you want to swap for it. Take the scoped rifle and get as much ammunition you want, if you later run out of ammunition you can return to this barn to get more from this unlimited supply.
