Vehicles Guide

USNC Vehicles Mongoose
A small ATV that can hold both a driver and a passenger. While the driver cannot damage enemies (aside from running them over), the passenger can use their own weapon to shoot at enemies as they speed by on the Mongoose.

Mongoose
Warthog
There are two types of Warthogs this time around: The standard turret Warthog, and the transport Warthog. Both are available to use in Halo 3ís campaign mode. The standard turret Warthog can seat a driver, passenger and a gunner. The transport Warthog can hold a driver and five passengers.

Warthog

Transport Warthog
Hornet
A small, armed craft that is available during certain situations. The Hornet can hold a pilot and two passengers (who sit on either side of the craft). The Hornet features great manoeuvrability and its guns can be fired while it is being piloted. Its manoeuvrability ensures that itís great for taking out Covenant aircrafts.

Hornet

Scorpion
The USNCís Scorpion Tank is a beast. It holds a driver, a gunner, and four passengers. While driving, you are in control of the tankís primary weapon, its cannon. With this powerful tank, one can break through any enemy barrier. The Scorpion beats everything; Ghosts, Hunters, Phantoms. Everything.

Scorpion
Pelican
While this vehicle cannot be piloted by the player, it does make frequent appearances in Halo 3ís campaign mode to drop off weapons, vehicles, and troops.

Pelican
Covenant Vehicles

Ghost
This speedy Covenant vehicle holds only a driver and has two plasma cannons as far as weaponry goes. Due to its boost (tap the LT button to boost), the Ghost is great for running over unsuspecting victims. Its plasma cannons are fairly powerful, too.

Ghost
Banshee
A medium-sized Covenant craft, similar to the USNCís Hornet. While more agile, the Banshee does not fair well against the its USNC counterpart. As for weaponry, the Banshee has two Plasma Cannons and a Fuel Rod Gun.

Banshee
Shade
Essentially a stationary turret with dual Plasma Cannons. The gunner is vulnerable while the Shade is turned, as there is no back to the turret. Shades are usually situated on high-locations, controlled by Grunts, and can deal some serious damage with their Plasma Cannons.

Shade
Wraith
A deadly Covenant vehicle with a driver and gunner. The gunner uses a Plasma Cannon mounted on the front of the tank, while the driver uses the large Plasma Mortar cannon. Once the gunner is dead, the Wraith can be easily destroyed, as its Plasma shots are easy enough to dodge. Once you are close enough, you can either hold RB to climb onto its hood, where you can then mash the B button to pound away at it, or you can attach yourself to its back, where you then have the option to either punch it, or throw a grenade into it, leading to its instant destruction. There are two variants of Wraith: Anti-air and the standard, Plasma Mortar Wraith.

Wraith

Anti-air Wraith
Chopper
A fast and deadly Brute vehicle. The Brute Chopper holds one driver and has two cannons on its front. Being both large and fast, the Chopper excels at splattering infantry.

Chopper
Prowler
A Brute Craft that supports a driver, gunner, and two passengers. The Prowler is very durable, and as with the Chopper, great at splattering Infantry. The amount of firepower with one gunner and two Brute passengers is immense, so youíll want to take extra care when one enters the battlefield.

Prowler
Phantom
A transport aircraft, much like the USNCís Pelican. During Halo 3ís campaign mode, the Phantom frequently enters the battlefield to drop off enemy troops. The craft is heavily armoured and has plenty of firepower, and the bay door is usually inhabited by a Plasma Cannon, which means youíll want to take cover until it flies off.

Phantom
Scarab
An incredibly large Covenant tank with plenty of firepower. The Scarab has two large Plasma Cannons, one on top of it and one on its front. There are also standard Plasma Cannons manned by the tankís crew on its sides. The Scarabís crew usually consists of Brutes and Jackals. To bring down one of these behemoths youíll need to destroy the power core, which is situated in the back of the tank. There are a couple of ways to get to this core. For one, you can damage one of its leg joints until it falls, allowing you to hop onboard through the bay door. You can then make your way to the back of the Scarab and blast the power core until itís destroyed. Another way involves positioning yourself (in a vehicle such as the Scorpion tank) behind the Scarab and blasting the power core from there.
