To begin a game with 9 Continues, follow the instructions below:
On the Arcade Mode character selection screen, hold the Down+Left buttons, and then the A + C buttons, then press Start.
Note: ensure the controls are in ABC mode.

To be able to pick the level you wish to play in Golden Axe, follow the instructions below:
On the Arcade Mode character selection screen, hold Down/Left + B and press Start (as mapped on your controller). A number will then show up in the top-left corner of the screen. Use Up/Down to change the number and thus pick the level.
Note: ensure the controls are in ABC mode.
