To get the best two handed sword in the game (unless you have the Wardens Keep DLC) you must go to the throne room of Orzammar. There you have to set a dragon free and then kill it before the sword is yours. Watch the video below to see how it is done.

Register an account on the Electronic Arts web site which is linked to your profile in Dragon Age: Origins and then play the Dragon Age Journeys mini-game at www.dragonagejourneys.com. Doing this will enable you to unlock the following bonus items in Dragon Age: Origins by completing the corresponding task.
younlock Amulet Of the War Mage:
Sign in to your EA account in Dragon Age Journeys.
younlock Embri's Many Pockets:
Save the Grey Warden Martine by completing The Missing Warden quest.
younlock Helm Of The Deep:
Unlock ALL 5 Achievements in Dragon Age Journeys: The Deep Roads.
During the Tainted Blood mission collect ALL 3 Vials of Darkspawn Blood while avoiding collecting the Grey Warden Treaties. When you have ALL the vials talk to Duncan and select the 'We have the blood, but not the
scrolls' conversation selection. The conversation will end and you will recieve experience. This trick can be performed as many times as you want and will give you experience each time giving you enough to reach the 25 level cap.
In Redcliff persuade the innkeeper to join the fight so that the barmaid is left in charge. When you ask the barmaid for supplies she will give you anything in the shop for free. Leave the inn and re-enter it to get more supplies. Each time you return she will have a random assortment of the current and lower tier below crystals for Shale. These will start to sell for 1 Gold Piece after you reach the 'Cear' tier.
In the city Lothering, the Quest 'Traps are a girl's best friend' can be continuously repeated so you can earn as much Gold and XP as desired. Perform this glitch before connecting to Xbox live as a patch has fixed this problem and if are caught stealing in Lothering the Quest giver will refuse to talk to you.
Perform the following steps to get across the Ghost Bridge for the Urn of Sacred Ash quest.
1) Right one, right two, left three.
2) Player steps on first section of ghost bridge.
3) Right two, left three, left six.
4) Player steps on 2nd section of ghost bridge.
5) Right two, right four, left six.
6) Right four, left one, left six.
7) Player steps on 3rd section of ghost bridge.
8) Right four, right five, left one.
9) Right five, left one, left five.
10) Player crosses now.

Search for a vendor that has the manual you want and save your game when you have found one. Buy the manual to unlock the specialization and then reload your save. The manual will still be unlocked and you will have your money back. The manual will also be missing from the merchants inventory.
If you want to get Experience points early in the game go to the city of Denerim as soon as you leave Lothering and search for a building named 'Wonders of Thedas'. Go inside and purchase the Archivist's Belt and when you equip it you will get an Experience point boost for everything in your Codex. Books for example will increase from 50 Experience points to 75 Experience points.
When you get done with your Origin story and are recuited into the Grey Wardens you'll travel to Ostagar with Duncun. From here you talk to Duncan again and he will send you out into the Kicari Wilds to find three vials of Darkspawn Blood and to grab the archives from an old and abandoned Grey Warden keep within the Wilds.
Go through the Wilds and find the three vials of Darkspawn blood and don't go any further! Turn around and go back into Ostagar and seek Duncan out again and talk to him. He'll talk to you about returning and happy that you have the blood but then the conversation turns to the archives and he'll send you back out to get them rather than standing around. Once you get out of the conversation, you'll still gain the experience for completing the quest. Keep talking to him, hitting the button to cycle through the conversation quicker and you'll continue to gain experience. You'll level up to level twenty-five(25) very quickly. Once you level up, all of the characters you meet in the world of Dragon Age will now be one level or so behind your main character's level.
REMEMBER! Once you gain levels, every three levels (two for rogue characters) you'll gain a skill point to load up your skills. If you level up, every character that comes into your party will be automatically leveled as well. You won't have any options on customizing their skills to fit your needs, they'll go directly to what the game has programmed for them as a skill set. Also, only use the level up option up to only level eighteen(18). Continue leveling but don't go into the menu to put points into your stats because later in the game you'll be able to unlock specialization classes and if you gain both, you'll need eight(8) talent points to complete their skill chains. Otherwise, you'll have both specialization classes with only the first talent available.
After you get done with your leveling, you can go back out into the Kicari Wilds and finish the quest.

At the beginning of the game begin to raise your "cunning" stat and get it as high as nyou can before you do this quest. You will go down into the werewolves lair and after you battle the few down there you will be able to open a door. SAVE THE GAME BEFORE YOU GO THROUGH THE DOOR! So that way after you side with the Elves you can redo it and get the achievement for siding with the werewolves (the only way you can do this is by persuading them to kill the elves *hint thats why you raise your cunning so it will not fail*)
