Now this is a pretty decent weapon for most of the game. First real weapon you'll get, and works on most enemies fairly well. Ammo for it is real common, so you can't go all that wrong with it. As far as slashers go, it's the perfect weapon. When you get to nests and brutes though, you'll waste a ton of ammo with this thing and not find it all that effective.

Location: Free, and found within the first chapter when dealing with a patient strapped down to a table.

Capacity: 10 plasma energy batteries (20 upgraded)

Primary Fire: Fires plasma cutter rounds that will cut through most things with one to two shots. Good for short to mid range combat. Can be upgraded to do twice the original damage. Really a good weapon for smaller enemies, but won't help you all that much against the larger ones.

Alt Fire: Changes cutting blade from vertical to horizontal.
