Xbox Walkthrough to Prisoner Of War

POW Walkthrough and Guide
Unless otherwise noted, this guide is based on us doing the missions at NIGHT.

General Info/Hints
General Info/Hints

For those just starting the game: 1) The Role Call Area is marked by a circle/ring of stones. 2) You can figure out where you are by paying attention to the bottom of the screen. When you enter an area White Lettering will tell you where you are. This can be helpful if you need to go to a specific area/building.
Use the R-Trigger to cycle through your various items (GRAPPLING HOOK, ROCK, TELESCOPE, etc.) while in the First Person Mode (Hold the L-Trigger).
You CAN miss a morning or an evening Role Call. You just have to hide really well while the Camp Wide Search occurs.
It's sometimes hard to recognize the GRAPPLING HOOK on your first go-round. When the GRAPPLING HOOK is hanging from a GRAPPLE RING (our description) it looks like a regular rope that you can climb. Pay attention to your "X" action button to see if you can pick it up.

Chapter 1: "Captured"
Objective 1

Speak with O'Brien. He will tell you he needs 50 currency.
Sneak into the Sick Bay (located directly behind the Prisoner Mess Hall).
Collect the currency (there's more through the door in the Sick Bay).
Sneak back and give the currency to O'Brien.
O'Brien will reward you wil BOOTPOLISH.

Objective 2

Have JD distract the guards at Morning Exercises.
While the guards are distracted, sneak over the fence and enter the German Barracks where you will find the BRASS KEY.
Crouch and sneak out of the the front door until you are far enough away from the guard that you can sneak back over the fence to the Prisoner Mess Hall without being seen.
Let JD know you have the key.

Objective 3

At night, use your BOOTPOLISH and head over the North Gate of the Prisoner Camp, directly behind your barracks.
Crouch and go through the hole in the wall across the way.
Make sure the guard is asleep in front of the German Store (this is indicated by the guard's "radar cone" becoming shorter and less bright).
Sneak over to the boxes on the side of the German Store and watch the pattern of the search light.
Avoid the search light and sneak to the front door. Use your BRASS KEY to open the German Store. Do this slowly and quietly, for the sleeping guard is right next to you.
Once inside the German Store, grab the CROWBAR.
Retrace your steps back to the barracks.
Tell JD you have the CROWBAR.

Objective 4

At night, use your BOOTPOLISH and grab your CROWBAR.
Head to the Prisoner Mess Hall. Once there, climb over the fence as through you're going to the German Barracks again.
Instead of going in the German Barracks this time, go straight over the next fence.
In front of you is the Drivers' Quarters. Wait until the patrolling guard is far enough away that he won't hear you use your CROWBAR on the door of the Drivers' Quarters.
Slowly, sneak through the Drivers' Quarters to the door on your far right.
Exit and look left. You'll see a truck in front of you and one slightly in the distance.
Go to the back of the truck in the distance and hit your action button.

Chapter 2: "Prisoner of War"
Objective 1

Sneak over the Prisoner Compound's West fence (behind your barracks), then over the next fence to the Construction Compound. Collect some currency.
Purchase from Fox BOOTPOLISH and a CROWBAR.
The Escape Committee puts a TAPE REEL in your hiding place. Collect it, the BOOTPOLISH, and the CROWBAR. If, along the way, the TAPE is confiscated, you can get it back from the "fat guard", roaming the Exercise Yard during Morning Exercises.
Climb over the East fence of the Prisoner Compound, then the next fence to the Barn Compound. If you did not get the CROWBAR from Fox, sneak into the Barn Complex, and collect the CROWBAR inside.
Head North out of the Barnyard Complex, under the gate, and turn left. This is the laundry.
Use your CROWBAR to open the Laundry door.
Once inside the Laundry, collect the PRISONER GUARD UNIFORM and put it on. Leave the CROWBAR in the Laundry.
Now, with the PATROL GUARD UNIFORM on, other Patrol Guards will let you go by if you are calmly walking. You're toast if they catch you running, crouching or holding something.
Exit the Laundry Complex and head through the North gate. Keep heading North and head through the next gate. Notice you can now open these gates yourself.
Head left down the road, past (I prefer behind) the guard booth, then turn right.
Continue up this road for a few feet. Climb over the fence on your left. You are now in the Mess Hall Compound.
Head North (behind the main Mess Hall Entrance) and climb the fence.
Enter the Administration Office and play the TAPE REEL.
Calmly walk back you your barracks.

Objective 2

The Escape Committee has placed a BRASS KEY in your hiding place in order to help you collect a uniform. However, you collected the PATROL GUARD UNIFORM in your last mission, so you shouldn't need it.
Wearing your PATROL GUARD UNIFORM, retrace your steps from the last mission to the Laundry.
From the Laundry, head North through a few gates until you enter the Kommandant's Compound.
Enter the front door of the Complex.
From the Entrance Hall, go through the door in front of you to the left. Go down the hall and into the Kitchen.
Go through the other door in the kitchen and crouch.
The guards in this room will see right through your UNIFORM, so hide yourself behind the bookcase until the coast is clear and you can grab the SCHEMATICS off the desk.
Retrace your steps back to the Prisoner Compound.
Notify the Escape Committee.

Objective 3

Put your PATROL GUARD UNIFORM on and head back to the Laundry where you left your CROWBAR. You will not need the CROWBAR if you purchase the IRON KEY from Fox.
Pick up the CROWBAR and leave.
Head to the Mess Hall Complex the same way you did in Objective #1.
Go to the back of the Prisoner Mess Hall and use your CROWBAR to bust open the back door, or your IRON KEY to open it.
Quietly sneak past the sleeping guard into the kitchen.
Crouch to avoid the pans hanging from the ceiling and walk through the kitchen area and grab the BELLOWS.
Retrace your steps back to the Prisoner Barracks.
Inform the Escape Committee of your success.

Objective 4

Put on your PATROL GUARD UNIFORM. If you haven't purchased the IRON KEY from Fox, take your CROWBAR with you.
Get yourself to the Administration Compound the way you did in Objective #1.
Climb over the West wall into the Utility Compound. If you have a CROWBAR, there's no need to enter the Utility Building. If you don't have a CROWBAR, use your IRON KEY to open the door and grab a CROWBAR.
Sneak through the hole in the North wall to the Vehicle Compound.
Go straight, then West, past the two broken down walls.
On your left you will see three garages. Use your CROWBAR to break into the middle garage.
Enter the tunnel.

Chapter 3 - "Castle Colditz"
Objective 1

Purchase BOOTPOLISH (there's 10 Currency located directly outside your barrack door) from Johnson (guy wearing long gray coat with brown belt), put it on and leave your room.
The guard inside Barracks A should now be asleep. Sneak over to the desk and grab the LOCKPICK.
Turn back around, go past your barrack room door and use your LOCKPICK on the door leading out, grab some rocks in front of you, if desired.
Sneak around, undetected, to the Theater Door, on the North side of the Prisoner Courtyard West. Use your LOCKPICK on the door.
Sneak inside the building. There is a guard sleeping on your left. Sneak up the stairs.
You are now looking to make a U-turn on this landing. It's being patrolled by a guard. Wait until he walks by you, start to follow him, then hide yourself behind the screen. He'll sit down, then move by you again. When he passes you, head through the door. You are now in the theater.
Avoid the guard, head to the back left area of the stage and go through the trap door. You are now in Barracks B.
Exit the room you're in. There's a guard on your left, so avoid his radar cone. Go through the door across the hall to your right.
Go through the next door, and you will find Harding inside.

Objective 2

Put your BOOTPOLISH on and collect the BRASS KEY that has been placed in your hiding place.
Exit out the same door you exited out of in Objective #1, into the Prisoner Courtyard West.
Use your BRASS KEY to open up the Laundry door on the South side of Prisoner Courtyard West.
Enter the Laundry, and go through the door on your right. On the far side of the room is the PATROL GUARD UNIFORM Harding wants.
Grab the PATROL GUARD UNIFORM, exit the laundry, and head back to your Barracks where you can put the PATROL GUARD UNIFORM on.
Exit out the front door of Prisoner Barracks A, cross Prisoner Courtyard East, and enter Prisoner Barracks B.
Go through the door on your left, and speak to the Patrol Guard inside. He will let you in to see Harding.
Inform the Escape Committee of your success.

Objective 3

Put on your BOOTPOLISH, and head out to the Admin. Office. You need to steal some TRAVEL PAPERS.
You can either go the Prisoner Mess Hall, German Mess Hall, Admin. Office route or, use the Kitchen Corridor (in between the Kitchen and the Prisoner Mess Hall) route which takes you out into the German Courtyard...the Admin Office being on the other side of the Courtyard...up the outdoor staircase.
Once you get the TRAVEL PAPERS, head back and report to the Escape Committee.

Objective 4

Now, it's time to escape. You need to find the MANHOLE COVER TOOL.
It's in the German Courtyard, near the outdoor staircase.
Once you have the MANHOLE COVER TOOL, head to the German Mess Hall.
On the floor, you'll find a MANHOLE that you can go in. It's by the door closest to the Prisoner Mess Hall, opposite the Admin. Office door.
Follow the tunnel out and "Bam!", freedom.

Chapter 4: "Sabotage"
Objective 1

Get CROWBAR from German Storage Facility #1.
Get BOOTPOLISH in Prisoner Barracks #2.
From the Prisoner Barracks area, climb east over the fence. There is a small building there and a guard is patrolling (he walks 3/4 of the way around it). This is the German Store. In it you will find the PATROL GUARD UNIFORM.
With the PATROL GUARD UNIFORM on, exit the German Store and head left down the path, past the log barricades, until you encounter another path which will allow you to go straight east. Take this new path to the end. You will see two holes in the walls on both sides of you. Climb through the hole on your left and under the truck. There is a box next to the truck with the LOCKPICK on it. Grab it.
Use the LOCKPICK to enter the Post Office. Once inside. Grab the PARCEL.
Give the PARCEL to the Escape Committee.

Objective 2

Put on your PATROL GUARD UNIFORM, grab your new CAMERA and your LOCKPICK and head back to the Post Office.
From the Post Office, head right, through the two gates. This is the High Tech Facility. Work your way around the building (avoiding two guards and avoiding search lights as best you can) until you reach a ladder. Wait until the search light passes, then quickly climb the ladder. Head left around the building until you reach another ladder. Climb it. You are now on the roof.
Climb over the pipes until you spot the Missile from the roof. Take a photo with you CAMERA. Stone mentions something about "eggheads" when you get a good picture.
From the roof, there is an entrance down into the High Tech Facility. Take it. Avoid the guard and head down to the first floor.
There is a guard patrolling the path you need to take to get to the safe. Hide around the other missile so he can pass you and you can find your way back to the safe. In the safe are the SECRET DOCUMENTS you need. Grab them.
Carefully exit the area, avoiding the guard. Make it to the front door of the High Tech Facility, use your LOCKPICK and exit.
Inform the Escape Committee.

Objective 3

Put on your PATROL GUARD UNIFORM and enter Prisoner Barracks #2. There is an entrance to the tunnel under the messed up rugs. Enter the tunnel.
Take the tunnel to the Storage Room within the German Compound (this is the second tunnel exit you will encounter).
Head out the door and to the right (avoiding the guard, of course). Between the two doors is the IRON KEY. Take it.
To the left now, and behind the building is a staircase which leads to the Officers Quarters. Use your IRON KEY to open the door. Locate the LIEUTENANT UNIFORM, and put it on.
Back down the stairs, you will see a building diagonally in front of you, to your left (the west side of the compound). Enter this building, the German Office. On the wall in the office is a fuse box. Hit the box. There will be a cutscene.
Exit the German Office and look toward the radio room area. You will see a guard exit the building, coming your way to flip the fuse back on.

Avoid him the the circling guard to enter the building he just left.

Once inside, calmly, trying to avoid the eyes of the guard within the building, locate the door leading to the actual Radio Room. Enter the room, make sure the light above the radio is now green (if it isn't just wait), and activate the radio.
Quickly but coolly leave the room and exit the building. Go back into the Storage Room, and exit back out the tunnel.
Inform the Escape Committee of your success.

Objective 4

Put on your LIEUTENANT UNIFORM and head to the High Tech Facility. This part is easy, as there are no guards patrolling outside. You may need your LOCKPICK to enter the High Tech Facility, where there are guards.
The first CONSOLE KEY is located in the room where the safe was/is. Use the same technique you used before to avoid the guard to get back there.
Grab the CONSOLE KEY and insert it in the console on your left.
Head out the room, avoiding the guard, and up the stairs.
In front of you, when you arrive on top of the stairs, is the 2nd Console. The 2nd CONSOLE KEY is located diagonally across the room. Get to it, while avoiding the guards, then insert it into the console. If guards are shooting at you by this point, it's OK. Still insert it, just don't get yourself shot.

Chapter 5: "Unfinished Business"
Objective 1

Get BRASS KEY in the German Admin. Office by going through the German Mess Hall.
Get PATROL GAURD UNIFORM from the Laundry by entering the Bell Tower (the door to the right of the Laundry), going through the Sick Bay, and then walking down the stairs into the Laundry.
Put on PATROL GAURD UNIFORM.
Head to the Library which is through Prisoner Barracks A.
Take it slow and none of the guards should care. Work your way up through the Library, the West Library, the Derelict Corridor to the Derelict Room. Along the way, in the West Library you can find the CATAPULT.
Go through the window in the Derelict Room, and head around the scaffolding/balcony until you get to a rope (aka GRAPPLING HOOK). Climb up rope and grab the GRAPPLING HOOK.
Go in the lighted window and you'll find the Glider (how the hell are you supposed to get the Glider out?).
Go into the Chapel Attic and you'll find a CROW BAR. Use it to unlock the Bell Tower door. Drop the CROW BAR and grab the GRAPPLING HOOK again.
You have 2 choices on how to return to your barracks. 1) Use the GRAPPLING HOOK in the Bell Tower or 2) Go back the way you came...down the rope, and keep going around the scaffolding/balcony and you'll find a spot where you can grapple down.
Inform Escape Committee.

Objective 2

Grab the PATROL GUARD UNIFORM and the GRAPPLING HOOK and the CAMERA.
Head to the German Courtyard through the Mess Hall/Kitchen Corridor route.

Head to the stone/concrete stairway across the Courtyard and you'll see a Balcony and a GRAPPLE RING. You'll also see a lower GRAPPLE RING on the side wall of the stair case.

Still on the ground level, look for the lower GRAPPLE RING and crouch down. Aim your GRAPPLING HOOK so that the GRAPPLE RING is at the bottom-center of your TV screen.

Once you get it hooked, leave it there.
Pretend you're all Mr. German Guard dude, and walk up the stairs. Position yourself behind and to the left of the Guard who is blocking the Balcony.

Chuck a rock at the barrel in front of you. The guard will go investigate. But, don't do anything yet...he's gonna turn around quickly.
After he starts walking away, for real, this time, grab the GRAPPLING HOOK, whip it up there, climb up the rope, grab your hook, crouch and take a photo of the interior room (it's through a partially opened window).
You'll get a cut-scene and the Objective is complete.

Objective 3

For this daunting Objective, you're going to need to grab the WOODEN PLANK, the ELECTRIC WIRE, and the BEDSHEETS.
The WOODEN PLANK is in the Chapel. It doesn't matter when, but you eventually need to get it back to the Glider.
The ELECTRIC WIRE is in the Attic Storage Room, which you access via the Glider Room, using the STEEL KEY. Once you get the ELECTRIC WIRE, you might as well bring it back to the Glider Room.
The BEDSHEETS are in the German Barracks, upstairs in the room next to the Admin. Office, through the east door, once upstairs. They are in between two guards. Wait for them to sleep or tire them out by throwing rocks at a Jug. Grab the BEDSHEETS. Get them to the Glider.
Once the three items are back to the Glider, you need to head into the Underground Secret Lab.
Put on the PATROL GAURD UNIFORM.
Head back to the staircase room, next to the Admin. Office. Go through the door that leads to the Boiler Room. Sneak past the first Officer Guard, then play Hide-and-go-Seek with the other Guards in the tunnels by watching your radar. Head up and through a door and on the right you'll see a Manhole Cover/Metal Grate in the floor. Open it up.
You are now on a Balcony overlooking the Secret Lab.
Take note of the Guards' movements.
You need to get to the Console across from you in the South East corner of the room.
Try to avoid the Guards as best you can, or run like hell to the console and hit "X".
You'll get a long cut-scene.

Objective 4

After the long cut-scene, you'll be back on the staircase near the Admin. Office.
You have 5 minutes to get to the Glider. Not too hard.
We used the Mess Hall route.
Congrats...you finished the game!
