1. INTRODUCTION
+-----------------------------------------------------------------------------+

I was trying to find a multiplayer guide today, but I couldn't find one, which
was strange as this game was hyped up because of the multiplayer mode, so I
decided to write one.
In this guide, when it is complete, you will find detailed tips for all maps
and game modes, along with complete weapons and vehicle lists, and reader
submitted custom game modes. Please e-mail me if you see anything wrong or if
anything can be included at [email protected].
For this guide, I want people to submit tips that work best for them, they will
get full credit at the end. I also want people to submit game modes they have
created to that other people can enjoy them, I will also be adding an advanced
battlefield tactics section with the best tactics to use. so without further a
do, I will crack on:

+-----------------------------------------------------------------------------+
2. MULTIPLAYER BASICS
+-----------------------------------------------------------------------------+

In this section I will go through the basics of multiplayer play, such as
controls, and the various options avalible to you.

2a) Controls
2b) Multiplayer Games
2c) Playing Xbox LIVE

+-----------------------------------------------------------------------------+
2a) Controls
+-----------------------------------------------------------------------------+

Controls are nearly the same for Single Player Modes, with minor changes, so
I will go through them all here:

Left ThumbStick: Move the Character
Right ThumbStick: Look
Right Thumbstick (Click): Zoom
X Button: Reload Weapon
Y Button: Change Weapon/Pick Up/Duel Wield
A Button: Jump
B Button: Melee with weapon you are holding.
L Button: Throw Grenade, Fire Left Hand Weapon when you are duel wielding.
R Button: Fire
Back Button: Display Score
START Button: Bring up Menu
Black Button: Change Grenades.

+-----------------------------------------------------------------------------+
2b) Multiplayer Games
+-----------------------------------------------------------------------------+

I will go through the ways you can play multiplayer here. Check the next
section for in depth information for LIVE play.

:::::::::::::::::
Split Screen
:::::::::::::::::

Until recently this was the most common form of multiplayer games, The screen
will be split into how many players there are (Max 4). You can connect 2
Xbox's together (See System Link) You have all multiplayer games avalible here,
and CO-OP mode if there is 2 of you.

:::::::::::::::::
System Link
:::::::::::::::::

This allows 2 Xbox's to be connected to have up to 8 people playing in a match,
perfect for parties.

You will need:

- 2 Xbox's
- 2 Copies of Halo 2
- Link Cable
- 2-8 Controllers

You then have the option to select your profile, then create or join a new
game.

If you want more Xboxs to be connected (Only 16 people can play) You will
need to get an ethernet hub, and the relevent number of Link Cables and
copies of Halo 2.

:::::::::::::::::
XBox Live
:::::::::::::::::

This is the place to go if you want to tour the players of the world, without
leaving your seat. You will need an Xbox LIVE account to be able to connect
to the universe. You can have up to 3 guests with you, but they can only
play in certain Matchmaker games and Custom Matches.

+-----------------------------------------------------------------------------+
2c) Playing Xbox LIVE
+-----------------------------------------------------------------------------+

With Halo 2 Xbox LIVE has met new standards, no longer are you thrown into
games where you have an obvious disadvantage, you are now paired up with
players from around the world that match your skill. This is Halo 2 Ranking
system.

Contents:

2ca) Connecting to LIVE
2cb) The Xbox LIVE Main Menu
2cc) Friends
2cd) Special Indicators
2ce) Current Playlists
2cf) Extras

.-.-.-.-.-..-.-.-.-.-..-.-.-.-.-..-.-.-.-.-..-.-.-.-.-..-.-.-.-.-..-.-.-.-.-.-.
2ca) Connecting to LIVE
.-.-.-.-.-..-.-.-.-.-..-.-.-.-.-..-.-.-.-.-..-.-.-.-.-..-.-.-.-.-..-.-.-.-.-.-.

What you will need:

1. Broadband Connection
2. Xbox
3. Xbox LIVE subscription
4. Halo 2
5. Ethernet Cable

Well, I am not going to go into all the technical bits of Xbox LIVE here, as
since your reading this I am sure you have it, and the sections below explain
a bit more. I am just going around how to set cables up.

By the way.

--- = Cable

Direct Connection:

X-Box------------Ethernet Cable----------Modem

This is probably the most simple way to connect the Xbox to the LIVE service,
however if you want to use LIVE and the Internet at same time use this way:

Router Connection:

Xbox-------------Ethernet Cable--------Router--------------PC

The router is connected to the modem via ethernet cable, but I am not much
of an artist so I have not shown that ^^.

Ok, we connected it but we need to install Live, so we get a subscription,
there is a 2 month one with Halo 2, so use that to connect. Just go to the
LIVE menu of Halo 2 and click create new account, and then enter subscription
code.

Thats a brief overview of the connnection, as I said for more information
check out www.xbox.com/live or the LIVE FAQ on GameFaqs.com listed under
Xbox Hardware.

.-.-.-.-.-..-.-.-.-.-..-.-.-.-.-..-.-.-.-.-..-.-.-.-.-..-.-.-.-.-..-.-.-.-.-.-.
2cb) The Xbox LIVE Main Menu
.-.-.-.-.-..-.-.-.-.-..-.-.-.-.-..-.-.-.-.-..-.-.-.-.-..-.-.-.-.-..-.-.-.-.-.-.

When you get to the Xbox LIVE menu in the game you will encounter 4 options, I
will now briefly describe what each section in it means.

:::::::::::::::
QUICK MATCH
:::::::::::::::

Selecting this will throw you into a random match, the first time you play it
will truly be random, but once you play OptiMatch it will base it off your s
selected playlist.

:::::::::::::::
OPTIMATCH
:::::::::::::::

Here you will be presented with a list of various playlists, each one offers
a unique play experience, you will have a seperate rank for each one, and then
have a combined rank (based on various things) overall.

:::::::::::::::
CREATE PARTY
:::::::::::::::

Use this to create a custom game, or to create a Matchmaker game, and invite
your friends in to play it. Custom game allows you to customise how you want.
There is no rank restriction for this.

:::::::::::::::::
CONTENT DOWNLOAD
:::::::::::::::::
There are now 4 downloadable maps:

Turf
Containment
Sanctuary
Wizard

Turf and Sanctury are charged at a rate of 2.99 for both. The other 2 are
free. Expect all maps to be free at end of July.

.-.-.-.-.-..-.-.-.-.-..-.-.-.-.-..-.-.-.-.-..-.-.-.-.-..-.-.-.-.-..-.-.-.-.-.-.
2cc) Friends
.-.-.-.-.-..-.-.-.-.-..-.-.-.-.-..-.-.-.-.-..-.-.-.-.-..-.-.-.-.-..-.-.-.-.-.-.

To get up the friends list, press Y in Game Lobbys, Pause Menu, or the Main
Menu, you will be presented with 3 lists, press Left and Right to scroll
through them. These are Friends, Clans and Players, I will go through each
section now.

::::::::::::
Friends
::::::::::::

This is who you will see in every game you play when you access the friends
list, to add a new friend there is an option at the top that says ADD NEW
FRIEND, with your excellent logic powers, select this and type in their name,
to make the most of Halo 2 you will need friends, otherwise matchmaking all
the time will get annoying. You can also invite friends by selecting thier
name and selecting INVITE FRIEND TO PLAY, or you can join their game by
selecting JOIN FRIEND. This works regardless of what game they are playing on
LIVE at the time. You cannot however join in the middle of matchmaker, you will
have to wait for the match to finish.

::::::::::::
Clan
::::::::::::

A clan is a group of 100 players, who are one big online entity, when you first
access this screen, you have the option to make a new clan, or join a clan that
sent an invite. Once in a clan you have the option for Minor or Major Clanwars
in Matchmaker, and you will get a rank. You can also see the online status of
all players in the clan here, and join them, without them being on your friends
list.

:::::::::::
Players
:::::::::::

This is a list of all recent players in your matches, if you liked someone, add
them to your friends list, or even to your clan. You can also use this if there
is a cheater in the game, and you can leave them feedback. Bungie will look
at all feedback and take relevent action.

.-.-.-.-.-..-.-.-.-.-..-.-.-.-.-..-.-.-.-.-..-.-.-.-.-..-.-.-.-.-..-.-.-.-.-.-.
3cd) Special Indicators
.-.-.-.-.-..-.-.-.-.-..-.-.-.-.-..-.-.-.-.-..-.-.-.-.-..-.-.-.-.-..-.-.-.-.-.-.

Look out for the following symbols on the screen, they will give you important
information to what is currently happening on the battlefield.

- Teammate (Square with with star in middle with cylinder object coming out,
blue arrow at the bottom)

- Teammate Firing (Same as above but with Yellow Arrow)

- Teammate Under Fire (Same but with red Arrow)

- Teammate Killed (Square with red cross)

- Teammate Talking (Same as Teammate but with white arrow)

.-.-.-.-.-..-.-.-.-.-..-.-.-.-.-..-.-.-.-.-..-.-.-.-.-..-.-.-.-.-..-.-.-.-.-.-.

Only a few extras here, but worthwhile as I have a lot of people asking me
about them.

:::::::::::::::
FOUNDATION MAP
:::::::::::::::

Ok, this can be got one of two ways, first way is the simplest and that is
to just sign into xbox Live, however the last way is a lot more complex.

1. Get up to "Great Journey" in single player.
2. Create a new profile and complete this map on co-op.
3. Get Player 2 to follow screens prompts.
4. Foundation will now be unlocked on the 2nd Profile.

::::::::::::::::
BUNGIE.NET NAME
::::::::::::::::

You have have seen people with Bungie.Net next to their name, well it is
quite simple:

1. Go to www.xbox.com and link your Gamertag to your .net (Hotmail) account.
2. Sign into www.bungie.net.
3. Go to your profile.
4. Tick the little box.

+-----------------------------------------------------------------------------+
3. GAME MODES
+-----------------------------------------------------------------------------+

Ok, there is a lot to do in Halo 2 in terms of game modes, want to know what is
the best to do for you and your party? I will list them here, for tips on them
see future updates, for now I will just give a brief overview.

Contents for Section:

3a) Slayer
3b) King of the Hill
3c) Oddball
3d) Juggernaut
3e) Capture the Flag
3f) Assault
3g) Territories

+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+
----3a) Slayer-----------------------------------------------------------------
+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+

This is your deathmatch of Halo 2. Just shoot and Kill, get points, first to
the set limit wins. Simple.

These are the Variants for Slayer:

- Team Slayer

This is where you split into as many teams as you like, and just kill the other
teams, the scores for each player in a team is combined to form an overall team
score. The first team to get a set number of kills wins.

- Solo Slayer

Ok, not called Solo Slayer, but for the purposes of this FAQ it is. Its a free
for all death match, kill or be killed. The first player to meet the set number
of points wins.

- Rockets

You only get Rockets, same as Custom Slayer. Very entertaining on the smaller
maps such as Midship.

- Swords

Personally I feel this is the best. Forget about shooting. Swords are in.
Sneak up on your opponant and just attack. They should go down in 1 hit.

- Phantoms

Your all invisible. Try this mode with swords only, it is a hoot to play.

- Team Phantoms

Same as above but in teams.

- Elimination

The last man standing wins. You can either have this to a set number of rounds
to win or just 1 match, your choice, but with 16 players, and 3 rounds to win,
these games can last hours.

- Phantom Elimination

Elimination, but you are invisible, meaning matches last even longer :)

:-:-:-:-:-
OPTIONS
:-:-:-:-:-

This is the options that can be changed when playing a game of slayer. Most
is self explanatory, but I have given a brief description of each.

Score to Win round: Exactly what it says on the tin.

Round Time Limit: The time limit for the game.

Starting Weapon: Choose what weapon you start with.

Weapons on Map: Determines what weapons are on map.

Motion Sensor: Whether you can see the enemy on the HUD.

Bonus Points: Whether extra points can be earned for skillful kills and sprees.

Starting Grenades: Whether the player starts with grenades or not.

Secondary Weapon: The second weapon you start with. Avalible when you change
weapons.

Primary Light Vehicle: (Warthog etc.)

Primary Heavy Vehicle: (Scorpian etc.)

:-:-:-:-:-
TIPS
:-:-:-:-:-

Kill as many people as possible obviously, and apply your best solo tactics and
team tactics etc. Screaming when you see someone.

Don't say anything into the headset if you are close to opponants. They can
hear you.

+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+
----3b) King of the Hill-------------------------------------------------------
+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+

To aim of this is to take control of a certain area on the map, for a set
amount of time. Very good with Rockets only.

The Variants are:

- King

Classic King of the Hill, take control of an area and stay there soilder.

- Team King

Same as above but in teams.

- Phantom King

Your invisible, take control of the hill, and don't move, you may not be
spotted.

- Crazy King

The hill will change position, so don't stay somewhere too long, it may change
soon, so you need a head start getting there.

- Team Crazy King

Same as above but with teams.

:-:-:-:-:-
OPTIONS
:-:-:-:-:-

Score to Win Round: The Score to win the round ;)

Team Play: Teams or Not.

Uncontested Hill: You only earn time if no enemies are standing with you.

Moving Hill: Position will change every few minutes.

Weapons on Map: Choose your weapon set.

Team Multiplayer: Earn more time quickly if multiple teammates touching hill.

Damage Resistance: Person on hill will take more damage.

Starting Grenades: Whether the player starts with grenades or not.

Secondary Weapon: The second weapon you start with. Avalible when you change
weapons.

:-:-:-:-:-
TIPS
:-:-:-:-:-

Run around the hill to get a good view of all directions.

Don't stay still, you run the risk of being killed.

Make a note of all entrances to the hill.

If uncontested hill is on, try and sneak up. Stay on and keep running around
while they shoot.

----3c) Oddball----------------------------------------------------------------
+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+

There is an object on the map, you must find it, and hold onto it for a set
amount of time, the downside, you cannot use weapons however you can melee with
the Oddball.

The Variants are:

- Oddball

Find the ball and keep it.

- Rocket Ball

You can only use Rocket Launchers, so blast away!!!

- Sword Ball

Only swords this time, use them.

- Team Ball

Same as Oddball but in teams.

- Low Ball

Everyone in the team must hold the ball for a set amount of time to
win. Very good game.

- Fiesta

Spawn with random weapons, use them to get the ball.

:-:-:-:-:-
OPTIONS
:-:-:-:-:-

Score to Win Round: The score required to win.

Team Play: Team or Solo Play

:-:-:-:-:-
TIPS
:-:-:-:-:-

If you have the oddball use it to hit people running at you.

If you are about to die and there is somewhere to jump of the map, do so and
the ball will respawn where it started off. Probably closer to you.

Run and jump, or drop the ball and ambush when someone tries to get it.

+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+
----3d) Juggernaut-------------------------------------------------------------
+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+

The Juggernaut must kill everyone, the other players must kill the Juggernaut,
kill the Juggernaut to become the Juggernaut, but remember your friends 5
seconds ago are now your enemies.

The Variants:

- 2 on 1

One player is Juggernaut. Other players must kill him.

- 3 on 1

Same as above but with 3 team mates and 1 Juggernaut.

- NinjaNaut

The Juggernaut is invisible. This is a very hard game mode.

- Phantom Fodder

The team mates are invisible, very hard for the Juggernaut.

- Dreadnaut

The Juggernat has overshield, can take more damage and moves
a lot faster than you can.

:-:-:-:-:-
OPTIONS
:-:-:-:-:-

Score to Win Round: The score to win the round.

Weapons on Map: Weapons on map.

Juggernaut Damage Resistance: More resistant to the shots.

Juggernaut Infinate Ammo: Juggernaut has infinate ammo.

Juggernaut Exta Damage: The juggernaut will do extra damage.

Juggernaut Motion Sensor: Whether the juggernaut has a motion sensor.

:-:-:-:-:-
TIPS
:-:-:-:-:-

Prepare to kill, if you become the juggernaut everyone that helped to kill
him will have turned backs on you now, so as soon as you get the message
turn around and shoot.

Communicate with your team, if you see the juggernaut but cannot reach them,
tell you team mates and they will get it.

When Juggernaut constantly move, taking out targets when possible, this will
make it hard for the enemies to locate you.

+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+
----3e) Capture the Flag-------------------------------------------------------
+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+

Always appearing in games, and is one of the best game modes, capture your
opponants flag, and bring it back, making sure they don't take yours. Takes a
lot of team work for this to happen.

The Variants are:

- Multi Flag

Each team has a flag, so make sure to defend while attacking.

- CTF Classic

You can only score if your flag has not been taken, prepare for some long
stand offs here.

- 1 Flag CTF

Take turns to Capture and Defend. If you capture it you win the round. Then
you swap roles.

- 1 Flag CTF Fast

Very quick rounds here. Same as above, but you have 2 minutes to do it in.

:-:-:-:-:-
OPTIONS
:-:-:-:-:-

Number of Rounds: The number of rounds.

Time Limit: The amount of time per round.

Flag Touch Return: When the flag is touched it will return to the base.

Flag Indicator: Points to where the flag is.

Flagg at Home to score: Cannot score a point unless your flag has not been
captured.

Flag Reset Time: How much time elapses before a flag is returned.

:-:-:-:-:-
TIPS
:-:-:-:-:-

Defend and attacka at the same time in Multi Flag, no point launching a full
scale attack while your flag gets stolen.

As soon as your flag is gone, chase the enemie down. When they are dead guard
it until it gets returned.

Use vehicles to transport you and your teammates around, save time and lives if
you have a flag carrier in your midst.

+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+
----3f) Assault----------------------------------------------------------------
+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+

Grab the bomb and plant it at your opponants base, protect the bomb carrier
with your life.

- Multi Bomb

Defend, while you try and plant the bomb as well.

- Single Bomb

Teams take turns in attacking and defending.

- Single Bomb Fast

Same as above, but in short rounds.

- Neutral Bomb

Grab the bomb, before the other team do.

:-:-:-:-:-
OPTIONS
:-:-:-:-:-

Number of Rounds: Number of rounds in the game.

Active Camoflauge: Whether AC appears on the map.

Bomb Touch Return: Returns the bomb to where it came from on touch.

Overshield: Same as above but with overshield.

Bomb Indicator: Points to where the bomb is.

:-:-:-:-:-
TIPS
:-:-:-:-:-

Always guard your base. However not as much as in CTF as it is harder to storm
the base and stay there for a while.

Get snipers to point out the enemy when coming towards your base, when this
happens run back and help defend.

Use the bomb to hit opponants.

Never send the bomb man out alone unless they are highly skilled and can sneak
in and out without being noticed.

+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+
----3g) Territories------------------------------------------------------------
+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+

hold them to win the match.

- Land Grab

Hold as many territories as possible to win the match,to get your score up to
5 minutes to win the match.

- Gold Rush

You only have Pistols and Shotguns.

- Contention

There is just one territory, stop the enemy from getting it, and once you have

+-----------------------------------------------------------------------------+
5. RANKING SYSTEM
+-----------------------------------------------------------------------------+

In this section I will detail about how the ranking system works when playing
on multiplayer on LIVE.

When playing in Matchmaker Games, you earn experience when you win for the
playlist your are currently on, the more experience you earn, the higher you
climb in the ranks. This level is used to base it on who you play in online
matches, so if you are Level 1 in Team Slayer, you will play with people close
to this level rather than Level 10. When playing in Clan Matches the team
will earn an overall rank rather than the individual player.

There are currently 50 levels to progress through on Halo 2 Multiplayer, and
the images for them can be found here:

http://www.bungie.net/images/halo2stats/levelicons/levelicons.jpg

To determine what types of players you will play, consult the chart below.

Level Maximum Match
-----------------------------
0-5 +5 Levels Above
6-15 +6 Levels Above
16-25 +7 Levels Above
26-30 +8 Levels Above
31-35 +9 Levels Above
36+ +10 Levels Above

Ok, got that, that is all well and good when playing on your own, but enter as
a team and it is totally different. The bottom player will in theory have their
rank "bumped" up.

E.G.

Player 1 = Level 1
Player 2 = Level 10

The Level 10 can only play people 6 Levels above or Below, so the game does
this calculation.

10 - 6 = 4

Player 1 becomes Level 4, so that they can play with the Level 10.

Lets move onto the subject of Levels and Experience, and how you earn them,
this is a small chart, and is a break down of all levels and how much
experience you need to earn them. The chart can also be found at Bungie.Net
in graphical form.

Ok, now that we know how much xp you need to gain levels, we will now look at
how this xp is calculated. For this we will need another little chart.

Level Difference Higher Win Higher Loss Lower Win Lower Loss
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
0 +100 -100 +100 -100
1 +90 -110 +110 -90
2 +80 -120 +120 -80
3 +70 -130 +130 -70
4 +60 -140 +140 -60
5 +50 -150 +130 -50
6 +40 -160 +120 -40
7 +30 -170 +130 -30
8+ +20 -180 +140 -20

Ok?

I will now do an example to show you how the system works this out, there are
4 people in a ranked game.

1. Player 1 (5)
2. Player 2 (8)
3. Player 3 (3)
4. Player 4 (5)

I will do it for the 1st Player, and 3rd Player.

Player 1:

Looking at the scores he came first. We can also see he beat 3 people, 1 higher
1 Lower, and 1 The same.

First off we look at second place, level 8, so the level difference is 3. We
consult the chart, and go to LOWER WIN, and then Level Distance 3, this means
from that he earns 130xp.

We then go to the 3rd Player, which is a lower level of a difference of 2, so
we go to Higher Win, then to do, and find out he gained +80xp.

Finally we do Player 4 who is an equal level, and go to Level Distance 0, and
consult Higher win, he gained 100xp.

Finally we add all scores together (130+80+100) = 310xp

We then divide by how many players he went agains, 310/3 = +31xp, he gained
31xp.

Player 3:

We look at scores and see Player 3 came 3rd and is Level 3. He beat 1 person
who is a higher level, and lost to 2 Higher Levels.

First we look at first place and see that they are 2 levels above, so we go
to 2 on the chart and consult Lower Loss, he has lost -80xp.

We now look at second place, and they are 5 Levels above, if we see the chart
we can see that from that he lost -50xp.

Finally we go to the last place, who is 2 levels above him, consult the chart
for higher win and see he gained 80xp.

We use this Equation: (-80-50+80)/3) = -17xp (Rounded Up)

At Lower Levels you can also have xp loss reduced. This chart can be found
at Bungie.net.

Level Loss Factor
-----------------------------------------
0 0%
1 5%
2 10%
3 20%
4 35%
5 45%
6 55%
7 60%
8 65%
9 70%
10 75%
11 80%
12 85%
13 90%
14 95%
15 100%

So as Player 3 is on Level 3, he will lose only 20% of the xp.

The final thing to say is about dropping from games, which people seem
to do a lot off. If you drop a game, at whatever stage, you will finish
last below all other players that where playing, and you will lose the same
amount of xp. So better to play, rather than abort to save your rank.

multiplayer games.

6aa) Stalking Prey
.-.-.-.-.-..-.-.-.-.-..-.-.-.-.-..-.-.-.-.-..-.-.-.-.-..-.-.-.-.-..-.-.-.-.-.-.

When I first started playing Halo 2, I made the mistake most people do in the
game still, and thats opening fire as soon as you see the enemey, sure it is
a good idea if they are shooting at you, but this way you have the element
of suprise.

Lets explain it a bit more. Say your in the game on Lockout, and you see an
enemy move, if you went to shoot them straight away. You have:

a) Given Away Your Position
b) Missed, It is highly unlikly to hit, when aiming quickly.

Not only that, you will more than likely be killed because you may keep rapidly
firing, still missing. While the enemy can just turn around and take the time
to aim, as they know they are not being damaged. So how does stalking prey
work? Like This:

Lets go back to Lockout and imagine you see that same enemey. You don't want
to turn and fire and give away your position, so you follow them. You go where
they go. You will see the locations they hide in, and what they do as general
tactics. When they stop, and only when they stop. Do you aim and shoot, this
is an almost guarenteed kill, because you have taken the time to aim, and line
up the shot, from following them you have also learnt a few new tactics of
theirs.

The above may have sounded like a load of rubbish, but try it, it works.

.-.-.-.-.-..-.-.-.-.-..-.-.-.-.-..-.-.-.-.-..-.-.-.-.-..-.-.-.-.-..-.-.-.-.-.-.
6ab) Deadly Sniper
.-.-.-.-.-..-.-.-.-.-..-.-.-.-.-..-.-.-.-.-..-.-.-.-.-..-.-.-.-.-..-.-.-.-.-.-.

Sniping is one of the hardest things to pull of in this game, but once you get
good through practice you will be unstoppable. A famous person once said:

"The more I practice the luckier I get"

This is more than true for being an effective sniper. You have to go through
the maps finding locations of the sniper rifles and the perch suitable for your
style of play.

Lets begin with choosing a Sniper Location.

Sure, where you find the sniper rifle may seem like an ideal place to snipe
from but the answer is NO!! The other team know where the sniper rifles are and
if you take shots from that direction they will know where you are.
Choose an area where you are covered from the back, don't just stand in the
middle of the map with the sniper rifle out, unless you are going to take a
shot then run, as you have no defence from the back. Stay close to walls and
try to keep high up.
Make sure you have a view of the main areas. You can't just snipe an area where
no one goes as you are not being effective. Probably the best places to snipe
are the centre sections, such as the Platform on Lockout. This way you can
get most activity and help the team out when they are being shot at.
Do not stay in the same place too long after 2-3 kills you should be moving as
the enemy will work out where soilders are falling and will eventually find
you.

How about the actual shooting.

Yes, It takes skill to find a location, but more skill to fire the weapon. The
problem with sniping is that most of the time the enemy is moving, and for a 1
shot kill you will need to get a headshot, and if you miss the headshot the
enemy will jump about making them harder to hit.

The trick here is to follow the enemy in your scope for a while, over the head
and watching their actions. The scope goes where they go, so as soon as they
stop you are ready to take the shot.

If you miss, follow the player up and down while they jump (which most people
do) and try to get the final shot to bring them down. Don't panic the shots
are makeable but takes practice.

So that just about wraps up sniping, I will be expanding here with more tactics
but what I provided should be enough to get you started. Read the weapons
section for relevent information on the sniper rifle.

.-.-.-.-.-..-.-.-.-.-..-.-.-.-.-..-.-.-.-.-..-.-.-.-.-..-.-.-.-.-..-.-.-.-.-.-.
6ac) General Solo Tactics
.-.-.-.-.-..-.-.-.-.-..-.-.-.-.-..-.-.-.-.-..-.-.-.-.-..-.-.-.-.-..-.-.-.-.-.-.

This I will offer some brief tactics to use in the game that don't deserve
their own section :)

- Crouch Walk

Press the button to crouch and you are invisible on the radar, handy. Do this
when there is a lot of shooting or you are planning to sneak somewhere.

+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+
----6b) Team Tactics-----------------------------------------------------------
+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+

6ba) Flanking
6bb) Point Man
6bc) Raid
6bd) Distraction

.-.-.-.-.-..-.-.-.-.-..-.-.-.-.-..-.-.-.-.-..-.-.-.-.-..-.-.-.-.-..-.-.-.-.-.-.
6ba) Flanking
.-.-.-.-.-..-.-.-.-.-..-.-.-.-.-..-.-.-.-.-..-.-.-.-.-..-.-.-.-.-..-.-.-.-.-.-.

This is your basic military tactic, it is called flanking. For those have you
that have played a Military Tactical Game, you will know what I mean.

It is coming in at the enemy from 2 sides, in a bid to cut them off, and to
leave no escape.

-----------------------------
       / Enemy \
      / \
Team 1 Team 2
------------------------------

With that simple diagram you should hopefully see what I mean. What you do is
to split into 2 fire teams:

1. Fire Team Alpha
2. Fire Team Bravo

You then come in from 2 different sides. Left and Right, with the enemy
remaining in the central location, this should hopefully cut off all points
of escape. For communication you should just shout "Alpha" or "Bravo" this
will hint what direction the enemy is coming in, and you can centre or cut
them off from where you are.

It is probably be best to use this on base raids, and CTF maps. The best thing
to do though on CTF game is to split into 3 Fire Teams, and 1 team holds back
until Alpha and Bravo have successfully cut them off.

That is really all I can say on Flanking, as in practice it is very simple and
all seems to fall into place.

.-.-.-.-.-..-.-.-.-.-..-.-.-.-.-..-.-.-.-.-..-.-.-.-.-..-.-.-.-.-..-.-.-.-.-.-.
6bb) Point Man
.-.-.-.-.-..-.-.-.-.-..-.-.-.-.-..-.-.-.-.-..-.-.-.-.-..-.-.-.-.-..-.-.-.-.-.-.

Well what is a point man you ask?

Well that is what I am here to explain. I have only just started putting it
into my Halo 2 matches and it seems to be quite effective.

A brief description would be organising the team into a Diamond formation,
with one man at the front called the Point Man. He is your "Target".

Lets go into more detail. It works best on the wide maps, where you want
to cover length ways to get to the enemy, such as Coagulution. It is also
hard to pull off if there are obstacles in the way.

The Team should be organised like so:

(/ = Player @ = Point Man)

           @
       / \
      / \
     / \

I wouldn't call my ASCII art very good, but you should get the point. The team
is shaped like a diamond, spead out as far as possible, with one man at the
front (Your worst player) and then players behind.

Enough of the layout lets move onto Effective Enemy Fire, while will now be
referred to as EEF. Basically the Enemy Fire is only effective if someone loses
health. I.E. The point man. The team the spreads out like this.

- = player
() = Dead Pointman

- - - - - - - -
         ()

Ok, then you fire at the enemy, while slightly crouched to make a smaller
target. The left hand group then moves up the left hand side of the map,
and you incorparate Flanking which was described above. However do not let
the team seperate. This way you are covering behind due to there being no gaps
for the enemy to get through if you were spread out properly, and you only
seperate once you get to the point where you cannot stay together any more.

This should only be used in situations with experienced players that you know
well as it is hard to teach to someone in one game (Unless they are pointman)
this takes lots of practice but is very effective.

6bb) Raid
.-.-.-.-.-..-.-.-.-.-..-.-.-.-.-..-.-.-.-.-..-.-.-.-.-..-.-.-.-.-..-.-.-.-.-.-.

This is what seperates the good players from the best. The art of a successful
raid, there are many varietys on this. I am not going to go into too much
detail, as the raid may not work with you, so I am going to list the elements
and give ideas on how to plan raids. Then play around with my words and "raid"
according to your playing style.

There are 3 elements to an attack in Halo 2.

1. Clear
2. Do Your Stuff
3. Get out

Lets go for the first one, first logically. Clear is like preliminary attack.
This is where you bring in the "big guns" and raid the base. However do not
send everyone in, send a Warthog or a Banshee.

With the Warthog you should load up with 3 people, a Gunner, Driver and
Passenger. The aim for you is to circle the base running over/shooting enemy
adding to your kills, which is useful for team slayer. However you should only
circle the base 3/4 times then leave, as you will not last long after that.
After this you will be right flank, explained more later on.

If you are a Banshee man, fly towards the enemy, point the nose down. Once the
enemy is dead or you get shot at, point the nose directly upwards until you
replenish health, then go for the swoop again. Do this repeativley every so
often doing stunts to dodge bullets. If you take too much health move around
killing enemies. Do not get to close to the ground though else you will be
jacked. Do this for the course of the match, backing your team up.

Ok, now we move onto basic flanking, after the clear, move the warthog (If
there is one) to the right hand side of the map, and unload. They will come in
from the right while the remainder come in from the left.

On CTF games the left should move in first. This way they can grab the flag,
and the Right Flank can jump into the Warthog and get the carrier, getting out
quickly. On plain Team Slayer you should move together, and then "hook" the
enemies from behind.

Now on to get out. Easy as I said above if you are playing CTF get the warthog
to get the flag carrier and leave. If you are flanking, retreat in a sort of
flanking position on opposite sides of the map. Only do this on CTF if you do
not have a Warthog. If there is a banshee they should provide cover until you
get back to the base.

Although that did not sound too interesting or too descriptive, if you play
around with my words, and vary it, you will have a successful raid in no
time.

6bd) Distraction
.-.-.-.-.-..-.-.-.-.-..-.-.-.-.-..-.-.-.-.-..-.-.-.-.-..-.-.-.-.-..-.-.-.-.-.-.

N.B. This section was submitted by Bilbo Baggins, I do not take credit for this
however I will be expanding when I have explored the situation more.

Team Tactics: Distraction
The objective of the tactic is to distract your opponents so your
teamates can kill them/run away. This tactic can be done in many ways
varying from simply attacking your opponents to being stuck by your
teamates and running at your opponents while shooting, yelling, and
throwing grenades randomly. This tactic is simple and if done just
right, extremely effective. Make up your own distraction. Sing songs
through your xbox headset. teabag the ground. shoot straight up. ask
for grey poupon. run into a wall and throw grenades. talk about
master cheifs feet. be spontaneous.

----7a) UNSC Weapons-----------------------------------------------------------
+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+

:::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::
MAGNUM
:::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::

Dual Wield: Yes
Magazine Capacity: 12 Rounds
Additional Ammunition: 48 Rounds
Scope: No

This is a Semi-Automatic Pistol. It works best in close combat situations, if
you are going to duel wield, you should do it with an SMG. When firing the
Magnum it is best to aim for the head for massive damage.

:::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::
SMG
:::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::

Dual Wield: Yes
Magazine Capacity: 60 Rounds
Addition Ammunition: 180 Rounds
Scope: No

Although it can be fired over average length distances it is better to use at
close range, it is almost necessary that you duel wield with another weapon,
otherwise your damage will not be as effective. Its high rate of fire also
doesn't make it as accurate.

:::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::
BATTLE RIFLE
:::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::

Duel Wield: No
Magazine Capacity: 36 Rounds
Additional Ammunition: 108 Rounds
Scope: 2x

The best way to use this weapon is to zoom in other average distances and aim
for the head. It will work over short distances, but if you try and zoom in
then you will be killed. It fires in Single Round or short bursts, so line the
shot up before you shoot to get maximum effiency. The fact that it cannot be
duel wielded is a let down, so this should not be used for long periods of
time.

:::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::
SHOTGUN
:::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::

Duel Wield: No
Magazine Capacity: 12 Rounds
Addition Ammunition: 36 Rounds
Scope: No

Great for those close quarter maps such as Midship. But in wide spaces not as
good as you will be taken out before you even get close enough to let off a
round. However in them rare occasions it is a one shot kill if you are close
enough, so take the enemy by suprise. If you run out of ammunition it is
great for melee attacks.

:::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::
ROCKET LAUNCHER
:::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::

Duel Wield: No
Magazine Capacity: 2 Rounds
Additional Ammunition: 6 Rounds
Scope: 2x

This is an ultra powerful weapon, but do not attempt to fire this at close
quarter, as more often than not you will do damage to yourself. Although the
rate of fire is low, rounds act like homing missles and will guide themself
to the target, even if they are hidden behing obstacles, you would not like to
get in the way of one of these.

:::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::
SNIPER RIFLE
:::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::

Duel Wield: No
Magazine Capacity: 4 Rounds
Additional Ammunition: 20 Rounds
Scope: 5x, 10x

This is a great weapon for long distance shooting. However if you use a well
known sniper spot prepared to be taken out, so it is always good to have a
backup weapon as this is NOT good at close quarter. One shot should kill if
you aim for the head. However it does take practice with this weapon to
achieve that if your target is moving, but once you learn how to use it, you
will be deadly.

:::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::
FRAG GRENADE
:::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::

Ammunition: 4

A well placed frag can take out a group of people, just back them into a small
confined space, and throw. However, do not throw grenades if the person does
not know you are there, it is best to sneak up on them.

+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+
----7b) Covenant Weapons-------------------------------------------------------
+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+

:::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::
PLASMA PISTOL
:::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::

Duel Wield: Yes
Magazine Capacity: 200 Rounds
Additional Ammunition: N/A
Scope: No

This weapon relies on a charge. Each Round will take up 0.5%. After about 14
rounds the weapon will overheat and you will need to wait a small while to use
it again. I do not reccommend this in high combat situations due to the lack
of power, and the constant overheating, steer clear of this. It cannot have
ammunition replenished, so should be discarded.

:::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::
PLASMA RIFLE
:::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::

Duel Wield: Yes
Magazine Capacity: 200 rounds
Additional Ammunition: N/A
Scope: No

This is the same as the Plasma Pistol except it causes more damage. It should
only be used in close situations as long distances shots will probably miss.
If ammunition runs out you will need to replace the weapon, however it does
serve as a good melee for a short time. However you should steer clear of this
weapon when you can. This weapon can be charged which will take out enemy
shields.

:::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::
NEEDLER
:::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::

Duel Wield: Yes
Magazine Capacity: 30 Rounds
Additional Ammunition: 90 Rounds
Scope: No

This can cause a varying amount of damage, and fired over long distances,
however if you are going to duel wield use a different weapon for those
close range shots.

:::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::
BEAM RIFLE
:::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::

Duel Wield: No
Magazine Capacity: 20 Rounds
Additional Ammunition: N/A
Scope: 5x, 10x

This is the equivilant to the Sniper Rifle, due to the low amount of ammunition
and the fact it must be discarded after 20 rounds, I urge you to get the sniper
rifle whenever possible. It also overheats if fired to quickly, so do not use
for close range combat.

:::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::
CARBINE
:::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::

Duel Wield: No
Magazine Capacity: 18 Rounds
Additional Ammunition: 72 Rounds
Scope: 2x

Really the same as the battlerifle. When aiming over long distances aim for the
head for best damage. Do not run around with this for too long though as the no
duel wield is a downside to it.

HOT TIP:

Get all headshots and it will not over heat, however this will take a lot
to accomplish.

:::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::
BRUTE SHOT
:::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::

Duel Wield: No
Magazine Capacity: 4 Rounds
Additional Ammunition: 12 Rounds
Scope: No

Although it does have a long range, it is very inaccurate and will take some
practice and skill to get kills with this. They explode on impact on Vehicles
or players, but they can be bounced of walls. I do not reccommend using this
though unless you are a seasoned brute shotter.

:::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::
ENERGY SWORD
:::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::

Duel Wield: No
Magazine Capacity: N/A
Additional Ammunition: N/A
Scope: No

This is a great weapon for those people trying to get the multiple kill medals,
the one shot kill is great, and gives opponants little time to react, however
you will need to get close before swiping, when the cross hair turns red,
press the fire button and they will die, guarenteed. Use this whenever you see
one, as if you don't get it, someone else will.

:::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::
PLASMA GRENDADE
:::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::

Duel Wield: No
Magazine Capacity: 4
Additional Ammunition: N/A
Scope: No

A lot better than the Frag Grenade by far, used basically the same, but if you
back the enemy into a corner and throw this, there is a chance it will stick,
and they will explode and die, in heavy firefights, throw this when you have
the chance, as if it does stick you can laugh down the headset and watch them
explode.

:::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::
BRUTE PLASMA RIFLE
:::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::

Duel Wield: Yes
Magazine Capacity: 100
Additional Ammunition: N/A
Scope: No

This is an excellent duel wielder, however it is very rare, which is why my
description is brief. It is very powerful at close range, long range the
accuracy will fall, do not let it over heat though :)

----7d) Duel Wielding----------------------------------------------------------
+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+

Ah Duel Wielding, the difference between life and death, but you cannot go with
any combination you must plan it to suit what you are going to do, let us first
take a look at what weapons can be duel wielded:

SMG
Needler
Plasma Rifle
Plasma Pistol
Magnum

Each has their unique abilitys that I described in the above section.

Lets go into their negatives.

SMG - May not do much damage from far, and is inaccurate.
Needler - Ammo is in short supply.
Plasma Rifle - Over Heats
Plasma Pistol - Over Heats, Single Shot.
Magnum - Single Shot

Ok, so how do we work out what weapons to duel wield?

Well SMG's seem to be one of the most common weapons, so why not duel wield
with 2 of them? Well because it is not very powerful and fairly inaccurate from
distance. So we should combine it with a Magnum. You have the power from the
magnum, along with the rapid fire of the SMG. However the negative to this is
that you have to keep clicking the trigger with the Magnum as it is single
shot only. However I feel this is the best combination for the SMG.

Needler. Combine 2? No way. Ammo is in too short a supply, and you need it all
for your one needler. So how about combining it with a Plasma Pistol. Same with
the magnum and SMG, you have power and rapid fire. However the same negative
applies with the Plasma Pistol you need to keep clicking the trigger, and it
does get annoying. However it is a double negative as the Plasma Pistol over
heats therefore becomes temporarily unuseable.

I have described 2 combinations, so I will detaill the last combination that
I find effective. With a Plasma Pistol it is powerful, yet it over heats. So
we shouldn't combine it with a Plasma Pistol as you will have 2 unusable
weapons. I feel you should combine it with an SMG when one is avalible, as
2 largeish weapons works well for brute power. A magnum is also a good choice
as a few shots for the magnum should help them out. However it is difficult
to find the two weapons, and again you have the problem of keep on clicking
the trigger.

Combinatation: SMG/Plasma Pistol

The Plasma pistol on full charge should take out the enemy shields to almost
0, then shoot them with one final shot to take them out.

So thats about it for that section, e-mail me if you can describe a combination
that works best for you and I will work it into the guide with credit.

8. VEHICLES
+-----------------------------------------------------------------------------+

In this section I will go through the details of all the vehicles in the game,
including the weapons and what maps it is found on.

+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+
8a) UNSC Vehicles--------------------------------------------------------------
+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+

::::::::::::
WARTHOG
::::::::::::

Capacity: 3 (1 Driver, 1 Passenger, 1 Gunner)
Weaponry: Rockets (On the Anti-Armour Warthogs), Machine Gun (On the light
Warthogs)

Controls for Driver:

L Stick: Accelerate/Reverse
R Stick: Steer
A Button: Brake
R Button: Horn
X Button: Board/Get Off

Controls for Gunner:

R Button: Fire
Right Thumbstick: Aim
X Button: Board/Get Off

One of the most common types of vehicle in Multiplayer Games, and is located
on the majority of the maps. Use this on the CTF type matches, to get in and
out quickly. The passenger can get out, while the gunner protects the vehicle,
use it to cover long distances in a short amount of time.

::::::::::::
SCORPION
::::::::::::

Capacity: 1
Weaponry: Machine Gun/Cannon

Controls:

L Thumbstick: Move Vehicle
R Thumbstick: Aim
R Button: Fire Rockets
L Button: Fire Machine Gun

This is a very powerful vehicle, but on the downside it is also very slow, and
not reccommended for prolonged use, however good for base invasions where you
can be left alone while your team do something else.

+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+
----8b) Covenant Vehicles------------------------------------------------------
+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+

::::::::::::
GHOST
::::::::::::

Capacity: 1
Weaponry: Plasma Shot

Controls:

L Thumbstick: Move Vehicle
R Thumbstick: Aim
R Button: Fire
L Button: Boost

This is also a common vehicle, and found on maps with warthogs, it is very fast
compared to the Warthog, however for this you need to boost, and while you are
boosting you cannot fire weapons, with this, it is probably best to run over
your opponants, do not slow down to much or you run the risk of being thrown
out of the vehicle by the enemy. Use this for scouting the area, and always
give a shout if you need help, as this won't last too long.

**WEAKNESS**

The Ghost has a weakness, it is the small engine on the side. If you shoot the
ghost here, it will automatically be destroyed, however the target is very
small, however the driver will not die, and they will be easy to take out.

::::::::::::
BANSHEE
::::::::::::

Capacity: 1
Weaponry: Plasma Cannon

Controls:

L Thumbstick (Forward): Accelerate/Take Off
L Thumbstick (Left and Right): Steer
L Thumbstick (BackWards): Land/Hover for a while
R Thumbstick: Aim
R Button: Fire Weapon
L Button: Boost
X: Enter/Exit
A + L Button (Direction): Loop

A very good vehicle, if you see it, hop in it, the only thing that will bring
you down is a rocket launcher, if you do take hits, go straight up into the
sky as high as you can and then stay until health replenishes. You should try
aerial attacks, follow vehicles around, and stay on their tail, taking shots.
Also try doing a preliminary raid on a base before your team moves in.

**WEAKNESS**

1 Shot of a charged plasma rifle will destroy a banshee. Shoot the rudders at
the back.

::::::::::::
WRAITH
::::::::::::

Capacity: 1
Weaponry: Plasma Cannon

Controls:

L Thumbstick: Move Vehicle
R Thumbstick: Aim
R Button: Fire Weapon
L Button: Boost

This is a very slow vehicle, in both moving and firing the weapon. However if
you are well defended the cannon is highly effective, take note though that if
anyone jumps on the vehicle you will be thrown of and they will have control.
The cannon is also not good for short range firing.

::::::::::::
SPECTRE
::::::::::::

Capacity: 3
Weaponry: Plasma Cannon

L Thumbstick: Move Vehicle
R Thumbstick: Aim
R Button: Fire Weapon
L Button: Boost

This vehicle can hold 3 people, Driver, Passenger and Gunner. It is useful for
crossing large distances and the driver does not have to worry about doing all
the work. It is a very agile vehicle although not very fast. On those CTF maps
it is great to have one around so you can storm the base and escape quickly.

+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+
----9a) Midship----------------------------------------------------------------
+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+

Main Locations:

1. In the Centre there is a group of 4 Blue jets, which will launch you into
the air, this is where most of the action will take place, there is a shotgun
here as well, grab that as soon as you can.

2. Directly above this is a platform, get up here quickly to reach the only
sword on the map. As it is a close quarters map, both Shotgun and Sword will
do fine.

3. There are 2 large rooms either side, they are identical, there are 2 floors
with a Blue Jet to take you between them, and Plasma Rifle on each side on the
top floor.

Vehicles:

There are No Vehicles on this Map.

General Hints and Tips

1. Depending on your playing style at the start make a choice of whether to
rush for the shotgun or the sword, both are great on this map, as it is hard
for the enemy to shoot you from so far away you cannot attack because of the
range of the weapons.

2. In Capture the Flag type games, watch out for Snipers while defending as
both flag locations are opposite each other.

+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+
----9b) Zanzibar---------------------------------------------------------------
+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+

Main Locations:

1. The beach is where you will sometimes start off, which is where all the
vehicles are located. It is split by a wall which is excellent for Snipers.

2. Moving forward we have a turbine. You can climb up the turbine by going
on the left hand side. At the top is a sword and a Rocket Launcher. Deadly
weapons.

3. In front of you is the main base. There is a locked gate which closes it
down, however there are other ways to get inside and flip the switch to open
it.

Vehicles:

2 Ghosts and 2 Warthogs, Located on the Beach.

General Hints and Tips:

1. At the start if you are playing CTF and are on the beach, load 3 people into
the Warthog and drive towards the base. When you get there get the passenger to
jump out and run up the slope to unlock the gate, and if possible grab the flag
and get back in the Warthog and driven away.

2. If on the opposite team, grab the Rocket Launcher and wait for the Warthog
to pull up, and fire a rocket and you will get 3 out in 1 hit.

3. If wanting to go for a more sneaky defense. Plant snipers on the turbine and
the left hand side of it on the raised platform and pick the enemy off as they
come up the beach.

4. In Slayer Games, forget about the vehicles, run around and shoot, stay off
the beach though, not much action takes place here.

+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+
----9c) Lockout----------------------------------------------------------------
+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+

Main Locations:

1. Heading South you will see a gravity lift, drop down just below this to
find an excellent perch for seeing inside the room.

2. Drop down from this perch and you will find a Shotgun along the long
corridor.

3. Jump across from the gravity lift to get to the centre section, keep
on moving forward, and jump again to get to another platform, head up the
ramp to get a sniper rifle.

Vehicles:

None

General Hints and Tips:

1. This map will take a short time to learn, but to learn the best ways
out of any situation will take a long time.

2. Grab either the sword or the Shotgun as soon as possible, and stay inside
to guarentee maximum kills.

3. When jumping from a location, do not accidently jump of the sides!!!

4. Once you grab the sniper rifle, MOVE, you will be hunted down if you stay in
the same location, however always have a good view of centre section, most
people will run straight through here.

+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+
----9d) Ivory Tower------------------------------------------------------------
+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+

Main Locations:

1. The Waterfalls is where you will find either a Sword or a Rocket Launcher,
both are great weapons.

2. You will find a Shotgun on the right hand side of the map. This is great as
this map is very close quarter, and you will get lots of 1 shot kills.

3. The Elevators will stop on 2 floors, at the top floor you will find a sniper
rifle and will get a good view of the entire centre section.

Vehicles:

None.

General Hints and Tips:

1. Depending on what team you are on, you will start by either a Rocket
Launcher or Sword. Grab them as they will turn out useful.

2. Staying as a team at the top of the lifts in this map is useful with one
sniper, that way you can take out the enemy as they come up.

3. Do not walk through the centre section much, as you may be killed by a
person with a rocket, they hang around here as that is where the rocket
rounds are.

+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+
----9e) Ascencion--------------------------------------------------------------
+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+

Main Locations:

1. Disk in the centre, this is where the hill will most probably be on the King
of the Hill Games, it is also the centre to the map, and everything takes place
around it.

2. A shotgun can be found on the the only steps that lead down from the dish
around the outside.

3. If you enter the main base section up the ramp, you have an excellent
sniper vantage point from the top section.

4. To the left of the Disk, you will see a open section in a half moon shape,
jump of the end here to get a Rocket Launcher.

5. A walkway leads around the right hand side of the map, you can see all
you are well hidden here, if a banshee drops down it will get stuck for
enough time for you to jack it.

Vehicles:

Banshee

Hints and Tips:

1. At the start it would probably be best to grab the Rocket Launcher, Banshee
and Sniper if in a Team Slayer game, as they are weapons of Mass Destruction,
and once you have the Rocket Launcher it will make it hard for the enemy to
bring down your Banshee.

2. On CTF games, if you are in the main base, stay there and take out enemies
coming from all sides, as they will most probably come up the ramp. If you
are the enemie bombard the base with grenades and the rocket launcher to
take them out, and earn yourself enough time to grab the flag and move it
away, even if you don't get it far, it is still out of the base, and easier
to grab than in the claustrophoebic situation.

3. If you are being shot at while in the Banshee, head up until health has

up again, this tactic should maximise your life.

When you go to the platform where the rockets don't use the lifts to get
back up, If you use the lift everyone will know where you are, so use the
teleporter

----9f) Beaver Creek-----------------------------------------------------------
+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+

Main Locations:

1. The river in the middle seperates the red and the blue bases, here you will
find an Overshield under one cliff, there will be a shotgun opposite this.

2. Just above the Overshield is a cliff, find the ramp and climb up to get
an excellent Sniper Vantage point.

3. Opposite this is a rocket launcher that leads up from another slope, good
to get this away or the sniper won't last long!!

4. Climb on top of each base to get in and take out the enemy. There is a glass
pane that you can get through, just shoot it out.

5. Behind the bases is a teleporter that will lead you instantly from one base
to another.

Vehicles:

None.

Hints and Tips:

1. The best tip for this is too grab the Shotgun and overshield and stay in the
middle. As most people will pass through here, and it is fairly confined so
you are looking at a 1 or 2 shot kill with the shotgun.

2. On CTF games, leave 2 people in the base looking out from each side, have
one on the roof looking over and shouting when he sees someone coming, he
can also stop people getting on the roof. The rest of the team should attempt
to get in the other base via the roof, if you need help at your base, shout
and they can come back via to teleporter.

3. If playing team slayer or any team game, get the rocket launcher and look
over the map, it is very easy to take out the enemies. Or even better if
they all camp inside their base shoot through the ceiling to take loads of
them out.

+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+
----9g) Colossus---------------------------------------------------------------
+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+

Main Locations:

1. The 2 bases are opposite each other.

2. Although on the top floors you can hide on the conveyer belts, hide on the
bottom ones and you will fall and die.

3. You will find 2 shotguns at the end of the base, on the side opposite the
jet.

4. There is a Covenant Carbine at the top of the Blue Jet, use this to snipe
the lower section and to your left and right.

Vehicles:

None.

Hints and Tips:

1. Sneak up on the enemie by coming up behind up the ramp.

2. If you have an item of importance, use the jet to get up fast, as it
is very hard to be killed inside it.

3. As the bases are opposite roughly, get a sniper and your base to take the
enemy out during CTF games.

4. Avoid the middle section as much as possible as you will more than likely
be taken out, however during Oddball matches this is where you will find the
Oddball most of time.

5. If you have the flag, stay around the outside as much as you can to stay
alive longest and make most progress towards the base.

+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+
----9h) Burial Mounds----------------------------------------------------------
+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+

Main Locations:

1. One team will begin in a makeshift base, while the other will begin on the
opposite side of the map, with a turret, sword and sniper near by.

2. There is no cover in the centre, so move to the left so you have a good
vantage point of the base, there is a cave here with a sniper in it.

3. To the right there is a ramp leading up to the main base, there is normally
people up the top so take care.

4. The main base has a ghost and 2 turrets, there is also a ramp, and it is
perfectly sheltered from oncoming invasions.

Vehicles:

Warthog
Ghost

Hints and Tips:

1. If you start in the "comfy" base stay here. Have 2 people on turrets, if
they die there is someone coming and have 2 at top of the ramp, and 1 getting
the sniper rifle and sniping the entrance to the base, should get a few kills
this way.

2. If you are in the other base, jump on the warthog and head straight for
the enemy, pull up in the middle and let rip with weapons, grab the flag or
plant the bomb and run.

3. If you are invaded by a warthog, throw a grendade, it may kill some of
your team mates, but the enemy will go as well.

4. Grab the sword and sniper as quickly as you can, if you start at the
back of the base, set up basic defences then head there.

+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+
----9i) Waterworks-------------------------------------------------------------
+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+

Main Locations:

1. 2 Bases are seperated by a bridge that crosses over a river, into a tower
where there is a ladder you can climb up to get a sword.

2. Each base has 1 of each vehicle.

3. There are 2 paths leading around the back and front of each base, ideal for
sneak attacks behind, or getting your flag out.

4. A Shotgun can be found in between 3 rocks at the red team base, grab this
and get back inside.

5. A Rocket Launcher can be found at the opposite end to the Blue team base
when coming out of the door, use this to take out enemy vehicles that are
coming around the back.

6. A Sniper Rifle can be found in the tower, if you follow the left path
when exiting the Blue Base at the front.

Vehicles:

2 Banshees
2 Warthogs
2 Wraiths
2 Ghosts

Hints and Tips:

1. If you are on the Blue Team send one out to grab the Rocket, 1 to get the
sword and get back to base if the match involves defending.

2. If you are on the Red Team get your best close quarters man to get inside
the base with the Shotgun near by.

3. Even though there are tons of vehicles, stay together, as one Ghost on its
own will die, but a whole army will win. So only use this for scouting where
you know you will not be killed.

4. ALWAYS KEEP SOMEONE AT THE BASE!!! This happen so often online, it is such
a large map, if there is not a least 2 people at the base, and the flag gets
taken you are pretty much screwed as there is lot of ground to cover to get
back to the base and return the flag.

5. Co-ordinate attacks, when possible send men around from the rear as no
turrets point that way, and more often than not the snipers will face the
front of the base.

6. If attacking a base, throw grenades through the windows, they will
maybe hit someone, and make it easier to get in.

7. If you are defending watch out for the grenades.

----9j) Headlong---------------------------------------------------------------
+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+

Note: I personally do not like this map, so descriptions may not as be as
good, but I do know lots of people love it, so I have tried my best.

Main Locations:

1. The Red Team will begin inside a building that is under construction.

2. The Blue team is in a smaller building. Both the teams are seperated by
an empty area, with a half bit road bridge.

3. A rocket launcher can be found just outside the red base. A sniper just
out side the blue base.

4. Follow the road to the left (Looking forward to Blue Base, and you will
see a tunnel, in here is a rocket launcher.

5. Shotgun just outside the blue base.

Vehicles:

Banshee
2 Ghost
2 Warthog

+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+
----9k) Coagulation------------------------------------------------------------
+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+

Main Locations:

1. This is a large map, 2 bases are opposite each other with excellent sniper
perches for those snipers out there.

2. Outside the red base, in the middle of 3 rocks, you will find a shotgun,
perfect for sitting inside the base and guarding the flag.

3. A banshee is also located inside each base with a Warthog and a ghost.

4. A sniper rifle can be found of the top of the red team base.

5. On the left hand side of the red base, keep heading forward along it, and
you will find a Rocket Launcher, head up the right hand side from the blue
team base.

6. A shotgun can also be found in a group of 3 rocks outside the blue team
base. A sniper rifle can also be found on the roof of the Blue Team base.

7. Both red and blue bases are equal in terms of weapons and layout, both
facing inwards.

Vehicles:

2 Banshee
2 Warthog
2 Ghost

Hints and Tips:

1. Stay to the sides, it is no use charging up the middle in plain view of
everyone. Stick to the sides of the map and you will have a bit of cover.

2. Someone grab the Banshee and raid, This should be the better flier of the
team, as with the rocket launcher and countless other weapons they will need
to charge, fly upwards, get health back, and then drop down again. The stunts
with it also serve as a distraction while your teammates sneak around the
back.

3. A sniper should get the sniper rifle and stay in the hills, moving after
every couple of shots so they are not noticed.

4. Always keep someone back at the base, no use charging when there is no one
defending.

5. The most important thing, use teleporters and vehicles, this is a large
map and you will be very lucky in a 16 man game to cross the entire field on
foot without getting killed. Best to have 3 in the Warthog, protected by the
banshee so in CTF or Assault games you can do your stuff and get out, keep the
Warthog circling as well. This will help minimize damage.

+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+
----9l) Foundation-------------------------------------------------------------
+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+

Main Locations:

1. Bunker in the Middle. If being fired at it is a good place to hide.

2. 2 Turrets opposite each other. Great for taking out spawning players or
enemies running around the outside as you have a fairly good view.

3. Sword in the middle, grab it and keep it.

4. Buildings around the outside. Although Foundation takes place in 1 main
arena, there are small rooms around the outside where you will probably
spawn, great weapons are normally found here.

5. Jets, these are the blue light the zooms you up, run into one of these
below the turrets when under intense fire to get out of the way, just
run to the left and hide in the room until health replenishes.

Vehicles:

None.

Hints and Tips:

1. Very hard this one as the main area is the centre, but you can easily get
picked of in the centre, so grab the shotgun (or sword) in the centre and try
and stay on the top level.

2. There are rooms around the arena, you will find ammo in here, and if you are
the camping type of person it is great to lie and wait.

3. Final tip here is that if vehicles are enabled you can get them onto the top
perfect for those road kill medals by driving them onto the air jets.

All but 1 player is on red(Humans) and the single player is on blue (zombies).
The Zombie cannot use anything but swords, and the players cannot use anything
but Pistols. So no turrets, Grenades or Swords. If a Zombie kills a player
the player becomes a Zombie.

--VARIANT--

Do not give the humans pistols as it is too easy to kill the zombies.

This is for a simple tournament. Set the map to 10 kills, and first person
to 2 round wins, this is for people that can only get a few people in a
room at a time without lag. Do this for all the mini-matches.

Set the match type to Juggernaut, and have fast speed and overshield for them.
Everyone else gets Active Camo. The starting weapons should be Magnums and
Swords. The idea of this is to not kill the Juggernaut, the Juggernaut must
hunt down the players, whoever dies becomes the Juggernaut.

Hey, I love this. There is a road in the middle of headlong which you can go
along. So why not get 2 teams, 2 warthogs and have a race to the end. Best of
3. You should be close enough to communicate. Why not add a bit of GTA and fire
weapons at each other as well. Very fun, although over too quickly. Try to
ram them off the road as well or plan "suprises".

Basically it, nearly always 1 shot kills mostly :p, plays like the Rainbow
six game.

Variant:

Play on a small map (Midship etc.) With no shields/motion sensor. Set the
weapons on the map to Human. Battle Rifle and Magnum as starting weapons. Play
with 1 bomb, red vs Blue Team. Works best with 4 players.

A headset is required for this game to work. Weapons will be sword and senital
beam. No radar and each person has 1 life. 1 person is by themself, the rest
are on the same team. The single person cannot be killed. The player on his own
must play music down the headset while everyone hides. The music should be
played throughout so they know he is coming. He can only use the sword to kill.
