Showdown: Legends of Wrestling Reviews for XBox
Also on: PlayStation 2
Showdown: Legends of Wrestling, says on the back cover that you can 'Finish the feud', although they seemed to leave that part out of the game.
If you've played the other two in the series, then this will be a walk in the park for you.
Its not difficult (and i've never played Legends of Wrestling before) the season mode is a mess. Put it this way, its no WWE Smackdown: Here comes the pain. If you like Legends of Wrestling 1 and 2 then buy this. If you dont, i'd rent it.
I bought it after a fine review that it was given in a certain magazine, although im now regretting it.
It's not the worst game in the world, but it seems to lack the X-Factor that the THQ wrestling sims supply. By all means, this game is fun with plenty to do IF you're playing with friends.
The Battle Royale match is particularly gruesome. Think a Royal Rumble, with many of the Wrestling greats from past decades.
The tag-teams included in this game are brilliant partnerships. The Nasty boys, The British Bulldogs, The Von Erichs, Road Warriors, the list goes on. The high-flying moves of Dynamite Kid are brilliant, think of him as the original Jeff Hardy.
All-in-all, I think that the game could be improved, but it is still very solid title. If you are an older wrestling fan then this is the perfect title for you, it supplies the likes of Bret Hart, Hulk Hogan, Andre the Giant.
With some of the recent greats like Latino Heat Eddie Guerrero, and Sting. If you like wrestling, buy it.
If you dont then leave this alone.
I'd Rate this Game 7 out of 10
