I am in the Theives Guild and I am trying to hire a Mage to protect our guild hall. I was told that they will sent a mage if I find andbring the guy 3 raw ebony. Where do I find it? I asked everyone in the corner club and no one would say anything and they mage wouldn't tell me where or who had some... Where do I find raw ebony?

Go south of balmora in the river untill you come to a bridge.
Go up the bank on the left and search around for a entrance to a cave, i believe its called vassir-didanat cave.
Go down into it a ways and 2 rats will attck you after you kill them look on the wall. there are loads of ebony on the wall.
There is also a storm atronarch so if your not at a high enough level watch out
(I got the answer from someone who answered a different question about the daedric bow or something)
I think the easiest way is to travel by the Mages guild to Caldera and go to the Caldera Mine. It's an ebony mine, just hide from the guards when you steal ebony.
