Question for The Elder Scrolls III: Morrowind

I was wondering if there is a way to store items anywhere. I hav a lot of expensive items that I want to store so I can do basic quests.
PLEASE HELP ME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

What you do is look at a crate. Push "A", then push the right trigger, go to the itemor items you wish to drop, push "X". Simple.
