Question for Need for Speed Underground 2

I have a 240sx and a Celica. Like when I get close to 20% my cars start to not go as fast as before, I've had to restart because I thought I did something wrong. What should i do? Please help me. Thanks

The only mistake was restarting!! It's probably because the other cars are going faster. UPGRADES!!
