You find augmentations in the weapons shops in Knothole Glade and Oakvale and Bowerstone north. Others you find randomly in chests etc. Here is a list of all the augmentations I know:
Sharpening: Adds damage to your weapon.
Piercing: basicly cuts the effectiveness of armour.
Flame: Adds a flame to your blade and does extra damage to grass type creatures (scorpions, wasps etc)
Lightning: adds lightning to your weapon and does extra damage to bandits and flying things.
Sliver: Adds a cool silver glow to your weapon and deals heafty amounts of damage to undead, balverines, spawn of the underworld etc.
Experience: increases the amount experience recieved when you kill anything.
Health: slowly regenerates your health.
Mana: like Health but with magic/mana.

Flame, does extra damage to creatures harmed by fire.
Lightning, does extra damage to creature harmed by lightning.
Sharpening, increases damage of weapon.
Piercing, cuts through armor better.
Silver, does extra damage to Undead and Balverines.
Experience, get more experience for killing enemies.
Health, regenerates health.
Mana, regenerates magic power.
