Yes, your dad is dead.It's easy to tell because your charter is right next to him and you can see he's not breathing.
Actually you assume that your sister is dead, but when you see your father (dead on his doorstep) he is actually dead!!!!!!!
If you go to that graveyard where the undead spread out the ground, look around a small area of gravestones. I was joking around and digging on graves, when I found out I was digging up my own father's grave! It's really coincidental. His tombstone says 'Bandits took his family and his life'.
