How can I get through Level 8 at the Docks? I can't seem to jump onto the water crates without drowning?!

This is very hard, I've only done it once and now I keep drowning as well. You don't need to do this part it's for a secret and it makes jumping onto the container easier but you can do that from the part of the walkway that has wood slats you can break. I know because I've completed the game already and only realised the boxes while playing through normal.
