Xbox 360 Component Cable Setup

The Xbox 360 Component HD AV Cable usually comes along with most Xbox 360 console bundles. This is compatible for both high-definition and standard TVs/ Monitors.

1. First, set your A/V connector to the display where you want to connect the cable to.

* Set to HDTV for high definition displays. These are displays that are capable of at least 480p or higher
* Set to TV for standard displays.

2. Next, you have to connect the Component HD cable using the corresponding colored jacks on the TV. If you're going to use the green, red and blue jacks, there's no need to connect the yellow jack. At the same time, if you're just going to use the yellow, red and white jacks for standard displays, don't use the other jacks.

3. Don't forget to connect the red and white audio jacks to the same-colored audio input jacks at the back/ sides of your TV (depends on your model).

4. Connect the other end of the cable to the console.


Turn both devices on and select the correct input source. For component videos, the usual input source is called YPbPr or also referred to as Y/PB/PR, YPRPB, PRPBY, PBPRY, Y/Pb/Pr, YPrPb, PrPbY, PbPrY, Y/R-Y/B-Y, Y(R-Y)(B-Y), Y, R-Y, B-Y.
