Gun Club: Assault Rifle Challenges

Latest update by CMBF on Sep 29th 2013
The challenges for this set allow the use of the standard Assault Rifle, Carbine Rifle, and Advanced Rifle -- though if you do not own any of these than the ones you do not have access to will be locked. To unlock it you either need to buy it or you need to earn a Gold Medal in one of the challenges for this weapon.

For purposes of unlocking the Gold Medals in the three challenges below you should try to use the Rifle you are the most confident with.

Bonus Building
One of the tricks to getting good scores is NOT to miss. Ever. Missing resets the bonus levels. As long as you hit the target you will not reset the bonus. Shooting and hitting anything but the target and obtaining a score constitutes missing.

Challenge 1: Multiple Static Targets.
To obtain a Gold Medal you must score 7,550 or more. For a Silver Medal you must score 3,550 or more. To obtain a Bronze Medal you must score 2,500 or more.

Thanks to the high rate of fire and large clip size, getting Gold on this is actually very easy as long as you have good aim and control over the weapon. You should easily unlock a Gold Medal using the Assault Rifle.

Maintaining the bonus can be a little difficult here because the targets only take so many hits before they retract. The best tactic here for getting Gold is to shoot in brief bursts, so that you do not send rounds as misses.

Challenge 2: A Single Column of Moving and Flipping Targets.
To access Challenge 2 you must first rank at least a Bronze Medal in Challenge 1.

To obtain a Gold Medal you must score 17,500 or more. For a Silver Medal you must score 7,500 or more. To obtain a Bronze Medal you must score 4,750 or more.

For this challenge you will not be able to empty the entire clip on each target transition, because first, the clip is pretty large, and second, because the targets move to quickly for you to fully empty it on a single transition. That being the case you should just do the best you can...

Challenge 3: Moving Targets of Varying Height and Speed.
To access Challenge 3 you must first rank at least a Bronze Medal in Challenge 2.

To obtain a Gold Medal you must score 5,000 or more. For a Silver Medal you must score 3,000 or more. To obtain a Bronze Medal you must score 1,000 or more.

This one is a bit more difficult -- you need to have excellent aim and weapon control -- and using whichever Rifle you are the most comfortable with will help a lot.

Helpful Hint: Have the largest clip available (purchase the upgrade for that weapon at the counter).
