Dark Vision
Dishonored is blessed with a range of abilities that improve the gameplay and add different dimension and a heap of replay value to the game. When visited at the Hound Pits, you're given the ability to trade Runes found and earned in Dunwall for supernatural powers that allow you to go about your missions in numerous ways. Some of the powers can be used to be somewhat creative.

Upgrade cost: 2 runes
Level 1: See in the dark and see living being through walls, including their fields of vision. Representations of the sounds that you make are also visible.
Level 2: See in the dark and see living being through walls, including their fields of vision. Representations of the sounds that you make are also visible. See useful objects and security systems through walls as well.
Strategic Tips:
Dark Vision is highly useful for stealth, allowing you to watch enemies from behind walls before approaching them. Seeing the enemy’s facing and view cone gives you a great advantage in terms of sneaking. With this power active you can see visual representations of the sounds you make as well, which further aids in sneaking and understanding stealth. At level 2, useful items, resources and security devices such as the Wall of Light are visible through walls as well.
