Monstrous Fang is a tough mission I am not going to lie. To beat this mission stay far away from the mammoths to point where you can shoot them and dodge them. When they charge at you, you will know ahead of time when they lift their fronts slightly, get out of the way immediately or you will take massive damage, usually depending on the tank. When they fire their energy balls move back quickly. When they try to suck you in try moving in the opposite direction. I hope this helps you. However this mission may take a few tries.
I "S"ed it on the 3rd or so go with the first Hovertank, the one that has the lightning weapon option as the more common yellow drop: it's actually aggravated damage (3 hits a shot, I think), and stuns, and either the AoE is very large, or it's actually conductive, because if the enemies are too close, it actually gets them both!
Something that works for me is to level up "aka grind exp" the tanks you have to high levels and just see which one is more powerful
