To unlock characters such as Terry Funk, Rick Rude, Sabu, Mick Foley, "Stone Cold" Steve Austin, and "The Rock" in the "Play Now" and "Tournament" modes, simply play "Main Event" mode until one of these legends become selectable for matches

As for John Bradshaw Layfield, Shane McMahon, and Vince McMahon, you must achieve "Main Eventer" status on a specific brand

-to unlock John Bradshaw Layfield, achieve Main Eventer status on the "Smackdown" brand

-to unlock Shane McMahon, achieve Main Eventer status on the "Raw" brand

-to unlock Vince McMahon, achieve Main Eventer status on the "ECW" brand
