Toon Link

by Demon_Hunter

                                 Toon Link
------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Toon Link is the main character in the games
"The Legend of Zelda: The Windwaker" and
"The Legend of Zelda: The Phantom Hourglass".
Its supposed to look like normal Link but drawn as a more
simple cartoon character. This style of Zelda here is pretty
different from the regular ones in the way that its more funny
and weird and the normal Zelda games are more beautiful and serious.

EVERYONE who wants to use my guide on their website or
use part of my guide in theirs MUST ask me before taking it.
I am open to most people doing so so please don't be afraid to ask.

I WILL be adding an FAQ IF I get any questions and other parts to this
guide if I get some suggestions. Suggestions will be very appreciated
so please email me if you have any. Thank you.

Toon Link is one of the fastest characters in the
game and is a great fighter. His (vA) attack is really
good at both just doing damage and spiking enemies off the level.
His speed and projectiles make him a great character
capable of beating all other characters.

Note that when I made this guide I was using a Wiimote and Nunchuck.
Also, I was using Toon Link, fighting Fox on the "Final Destination"
stage except when doing the character strategies,
where I fought the different characters on Final Destination.
If there is any difference when using other stages or characters,
you find a mistake in what I've written or have any tips or
things I should add, please email me at [email protected]

To unlock Toon Link, you need to one of the following:

- Beat the Sub Space Emissary and return to the Forest stage
and enter the first door that is above the ground. He will
appear and you must beat him.

- Beat the Sub Space Emissary and then beat Classic mode
with Link. Toon Link will then show up and you must beat him.

- Play 400 vs. matches and then defeat him when he challenges you.

(A) - Attacks: [A01]

(vA) : Link slashes the ground on both
sides of him. The slash in front of him
does 6% damage and the slash behind does
11% making a total of 17% if both hit.
The second slash has a great knock back
so it's great for finishing off the opponent.

When charged, the front slash does 8%
damage and the back slash does 15%
making a total of 23%

(<A) A and (>A) A : Link slashes from the
left of him to the right and then from
right to left doing 2 hits. The first
hit does 10% damage
and the second hit does 13% making
a total of 23%. Great knock back,
good way to finish of an enemy.

When charged, the slash does 32% damage.

(^A) : Link does a slash above him from
left to right doing 15% damage. Has a
good knock back. Best used when charged a bit.

When charged, the slash does 21% damage.

(A) (A) (A) : Link does three slashes.
The first slash does 3%
damage, the second does 2% and the third
does 5% damage. The last hit has a pretty
good knock back making it an OK finisher.

[B] - Attacks : [A02]

[vB] : Link takes out a bomb. Press vB again
to throw it. If you hold the bomb for too long,
it will explode and damage you by 3%. When thrown
on the opponent, it does 6% damage. Terrible
knock back so wait till your opponent has a
higher percentageuntil you try to kill him with it.

[<B] and [>B] : Link throws his
boomerang doing 11% damage
if it hits on the way from Link
and 3% if it hits on the
way back to Link. Not very good
knock back so don't rely
on it to send your opponent flying.

[^B] : Link swings his sword around
him multiple times doing 12%
damage. This is used as Links third
jump and it takes him pretty far.
Its great for damaging a lot of enemies
at the same time. On the ground, the knock
back is terrible but in the air, the last'
hit has a good knock back. Don't use it too
much as a normal attack
because if you fail and someone hits you of
the level, you have no
chance of survival.

When charged, the attack does 19% damage and
the knock back increases by a bit.

[B] : Link takes out his bow and shoots an arrow.
This attack is Links main ranged attack. If you just
press [B] without holding in,
the arrow will go pretty far
and do 4% damage. The longer you hold in [B], the farther
the arrow will go and the more damage it will do.

When held in the max amount of time, the arrow will start
shining and it will do 12% damage. Tiny knock back.

Aerial attack (Attack done in the air) [A03]

I only name one [B] attack because the
rest are the same when
done in the air.

(vA) : Link will point his sword
ownward and fall extra fast.
You can get up to two hits in
every time you do it because
after the first hit, he will bounce.
The first hit does 16%
damage and the second hit does
8% making a total of 24% if
both hit. The knock back is fairly good.

(<A) and (>A) : Link slashes his sword
from the south west/east
(depending on direction pressed) to north
west/east. Does 10%
damage and has a pretty low knock back.

(^A) : Link points his sword upwards which
increases your
jumping height if done on the first
jump while going up.
Does 14% damage. The knock back is OK.

(A) : Link swings his sword to the right
and left doing 10%
damage. The knock back is small.

[^B] : Same as before but acts as Links
third jump so he moves
up while slashing.

Grabs: [A04]

How to grab:
Wiimote: Minus button (-)
Wiimote with Nunchuck: A + B
or Z + A or left arrow

(I recommend Z + A because its more safe.
Z keeps you
shielded until you find a good time to grab)

(A) (A) (A) : 6% and no knock back at all.

(>A) and (<A) : Link pushes the enemy.
it does 7% damage and a bit of knock back.

(^A) : Link throws the enemy up in
the air and slashes.
Does 7% damage. Small knock back.

(vA) : Link throws the enemy on the
floor and jumps onto
him/her. Does 7% damage
with barely any knock back.

Final Smash: Triforce Slash [A05]

Does 65% in damage and has an amazing
knock back,
Though it has a great knock back,
don't use it until
your opponent has at least 50%
in damage unless you are
aiming at an edge that is close.
Timing this attack is the
hardest part because it has such
a tiny range. You have to
predict your opponents moves
to get it right.
This is something you should train on.

Combos [A06]

Note that human players are a lot
less predictable than computers
so these combos may not be as effective
on humans as on computers.

Noob killers (Level 3 computer):

Up smash: Run to your opponent, use (^A) to send him flying
up and then just run to where he is going to land if its easily
predicted and keep using (^A) until he/she dies.

Down smash: Run to your enemy, jump right above him/her
and press (vA) to do some damage and then, after the bounce,
hit the enemy again or land next to him depending on how
confident you are. You can just keep doing this to noobs
because they wont understand how to get away well.

Pro killers (Level 9 computer):

Boomerang stun: When you are near your opponent, do a
small jump and throw your boomerang [>B] in the direction
of the opponent. (The boomerang is supposed to miss on the
way AWAY from Link) Land your jump and start attacking the
enemy. After a little while, the boomerang will return to
link but hit your opponent before. This stuns the opponent
for a sec giving you a good opportunity to attack.

Hero of Time combo: Take out a bomb [vB], throw your
boomerang [>B} at your enemy for a short stun, throw
your bomb and then run up and slash with your sword.
Doesn't always work but is pretty effective when it does.

Fighting strategies against different characters [A07]

Here I will list how I fight each different character.
I will write how to counter their moves and how to do
good damage. Note that when I made these strategies,
I was fighting a level 9 computer which is very
different from a human player.

Evade = Shield + Down
Shield Dodge = Shield + Left/Right

< B1 > Mario:

Mario relies a lot on speed and spamming lots of
different attacks. You just have to be faster.
Even if all attacks don't hit him, try to just jump
around and slash him at all possible times.
Don't bother using bombs or anything that
takes a long time to use.
Try to predict his moves and be the first to strike.

If Mario breaks the smash ball: Try to stay behind
him or on top of him, where his final smash can't hit.
If you aren't familiar with his smash,
he shoots a dragon made out of fire in a big line
in front of him. It can easily push
you off the level if you aren't careful.

 < B2 > Luigi:

Luigi is pretty similar to Mario but there
are some differences.
His [^B] can be fatal if you hear the baseball
bat sound when
he hits you. Im not sure exactly how to use that
attack with Luigi.
He is a good aerial fighter so be careful about
fighting in the air.
When Luigi launches himself at
you, jump or shield dodge because
that can smash you far.

If Luigi breaks the smash ball: Keep as far away
from him as possible.
If you really can't, try to hit the smash ball
out of him. Though its hard,
its better than definitely getting hit.
When Luigi activates his smash,
he does some weird dance and a circle forms
around him. The circle is
only visible because the colors in it are reversed.
While you are in
the circle, you will take damage over time and if
you escape the hole,
you will be stunned for a little while. If you get
stuck in the hole,
RUN out of there as fast as possible.
Luigi will lag a bit after activating
it and thats your chance to get out.

< B3 > Peach:

Peach is slower than Luigi and Mario.
Be fast but avoid her [>B]
attack where she says like "Huh-Cha!"
and throws herself at you,
because that has a good knock back and
could easily shoot you out
of the level. Remember, when you try
shooting her out of the level,
that she can fly for a little while making
it harder to shoot her out.
Do NOT hit her when she is holding toad out
(The mushroom like thing).
She will counter with some kinda gas...
or something. It's random what
item she uses when she presses (>A)/(<A).
If she gets the golf club,
it can be pretty strong so be careful.

If Peach breaks the smash ball: Stay away
from her! Keep as much of a
distance as possible. When she activates it,
you fall asleep no matter
where you are and health items fall
from the sky. She will heal herself
first and then come and smash you!
Keep your distance incase you have
time to wake up before she comes to you.

< B4 > Bowser:

Bowser is huge and slow so use the fact
that you are a lot faster than
him to your advantage. He should be
easy if you just keep moving all the time.
Use the fact that his [^B] doesn't take him
very far up. When he is off the
stage, press [vA] to kill him easily.
Watch out for his fire and use your
projectiles a lot. Its important to be
in his face because you are so much
faster than him. He probably wont be able to much.

If Bowser breaks the smash ball: Keep away
from him. He can do lots of damage
to you quickly and smash you HARD so keep away!
When he activates his final smash,
he becomes a huge even uglier (if possible) monster.
This increases his damage and
knock back as I wrote before. So, in conclusion,
stay away from him at all times.
Don't attempt to attack him.

< B5 > Donkey Kong:
A lot like Bowser in the way that he is slow.
As before, be fast but this time you
have to be extra careful about his punch attack.
When its fully charged and hits
you, it can easily smash you off the level.
Also, watch out for his [>B] which
smashes you into the ground, After you are
smashed in to the ground, its
extremely easy for him to smash you really hard.
If you have higher than
50% damage and you get smashed into the ground,
consider yourself screwed.

If Donkey Kong breaks the smash ball: Stay back
as much as possible
and when you see the shock waves, jump or duck
to get of the way.
The further away you are, the easier it will
 e to dodge.
When he activates his smash, he takes out two
drums and starts
playing which sends shockwaves in different directions.

< B6 > Diddy Kong:
Diddy Kong is really fast so be careful.
When he shoots his gun, jump, dodge roll,
back up a bit or evade..
Not very hard. While you try to be fast,
watch out for the banana peels
that he leaves because they will stun you
for a while if you slip.
Keep in mind that his [^B] takes a while
to use so if you hit him off
the level after he has used his second jump,
there is a smaller chance of survival.
Don't let him cling onto you either because
it will damage you and it can give
him a really high jump.

If Diddy Kong breaks the smash ball:
This isn't too hard to dodge.
Just jump so that you are above him.
Then his peanut guns can't hit
you and he will have do some aiming to
hit you with his jet-pack.
Keep moving a lot to make it hard for him.
When he activates his final smash,
His jet-pack starts and he can now fly
around the whole level with out landing.
He can also use his super powered up guns
to get extra damage on you.

< B7 > Yoshi:
This guy can be a real pain
since he keeps throwing eggs at you
or turning you into an egg,
Run around a lot and don't get close to
it unless you are ready to fight.
Use projectiles because you are the
only one who has it.
Make use of that Yoshi has no third jump.
If he has used his second jump,
try to get him off the level so he cant survive.
( Thanks to Alain Christe )

If Yoshi breaks the smash ball: Jump only if he shoots
a fireball or if he has followed you to the edge of the
level with fire breath. When he activates his final smash,
he starts flying and can shoots fireballs and flames.

< B8 > Wario:
Wario is pretty slow so use that to
your advantage.
His [^B] is TERRIBLE so make sure to use your
bow to hurt while
he is off the level cause his [^B]
won't save him.
This is one of the easier characters to
spam (vA) on because
he is both slow and is terrible at jumping.
Watch out for his motorbike when he uses
it and keep it
guarded when he drops it. Try to break
it if you can.
Watch out for his fart because if he
catches you with a fully loaded one, it can
kill you easily. ( Thanks to Alain Christe
and chif ii for telling me about the
fart attack )

If Wario breaks the smash ball:
Wario turns into some
super hero which makes him invincible,
a lot faster and stronger.
There is no point in attacking him cause
it wont hurt so just keep
away from him and if you're lucky or skilled,
you wont take any damage.

< B9 > Link:
Link is a lot like Toon Link except
for the fact that Link is a
bit slower but a bit stronger. Your
attacks are almost exactly the same.
Don't use [vA] on Link because he
has a killer [^A].
Watch out for his three projectiles
and don't bother using yours.
Since Link lacks speed and you have
lots of it, be in his face constantly.
Watch out for his [^B].

If Link breaks the smash ball:
His smash is almost same as yours. It has
a decent range so just don't stand straight
infront of him. If he gets it on you,
you are probably dead no matter what.
As you probably know,
if he catches you in it, two triforces
come up and he slashes you a
bunch of times and then sends you flying.

< B10 > Zelda:
How stupid! Fighting the princess
that he has
worked so hard to save?! Well...
whatever..
You are faster than her and she
doesn't have very many good attacks.
While spamming her with attacks,
atch out for Nayrus Love
(When a blue diamond comes around her),
it will damage you and stop your attack.
Her [^B] takes her really far so don't
rely too much on shooting her down.
Watch out for her Dins fire because
she can control it really well and
it does decent damage.

If Zelda breaks the smash ball:
When she activates her final smash,
she will take out a bow and shoot an
arrow of light in a straight
line in front of her. It's a very small
line so it's pretty easy to dodge.
Keep in mind that if it hits, it can be
fatal. Jump a lot and be unpredictable

< B11 > Sheik:
Sheik is one of the few characters
who can match your speed. In this fight
you have to rely on more than just
being fast. Sheik has one projectile
weapon but its not very strong.
Use yours when you get that chance to get
some bonus damage in. Be fast and
use all moves that you are good at.
I use [vA] a lot. Watch out for her
chain which has a bit of a range.
Overall she should be pretty easy.
She lacks strength for her speed so don't worry.

If Sheik breaks the smash ball:
See Zelda (directly above)

< B12 > Ganondorf:
Another slow opponent! You know what to do!
Use your speed!
This is seriously one of the easiest
characters to fight with
Toon Link because he is REALLY slow.
Be in his face ALL the
time and this should be freakishly easy.
Just make sure his Falcon Punch
type attack doesn't hit you or any of his
other attacks for that matter.
This guy lacks jumping power so hitting him
to the bottom shouldn't be hard.

If Ganondorf breaks the smash ball:
When he activates his final smash,
he turns into Ganon for a sec and rams
everything in its way off the level.
Make sure you aren't in the way!
Jump when you see that he activates it.
Pretty simple to dodge.

< B13 > Toon Link:
Fighting yourself, eh? Alright then..
Toon Link does two things.
He spams projectiles and he does
cowardly hits (one or two slashes
and then runs away).
Be brave and be the one who goes
close and does the real damage.
Don't be afraid to slash the
crap out of this guy.
Don't bother using projectiles
as he has the exact same ones.
Try using the strategies above
if you are having problems.

If Toon Link breaks the smash ball:
The same as Links except it has only
about third of the range. Stay away
from him as you would Link and this
should be a lot easier.
( Thanks Alain Christe )

< B14 > Samus:
Samus is a hard one. Be really cautious
when she has loaded her [B] attack.
That thing could kill you really easily.
Samus does not only have two
great projectiles but is also
fast in melee combat. Try to be faster than
Samus while using projectiles when necessary.
Hit her while she is charging her [B] attack.
Her missiles are homing so be careful.
Watch out for her grapple beam and attack
her when it starts retracting.

After her final smash she will turn
into Zero Suit Samus.
She looses all of her good attacks.
ts all replaces with a beam
whip type thing. Her attack range
is a lot longer now so be careful.
Keep a bit of a distance but don't
be scared to attack in close combat.
She has only one projectile now and
it is terrible so make sure to use yours.
This should be fairly simple if you
use your projectiles and speed.

If Samus breaks the smash ball:
Get behind her as soon as possible!
This attack covers a huge area and
can do great damage so watch out,
Stay behind her at all times and if
that fails, try to stay above or
below the beam if possible.
When Samus activates her final smash,
a huge beam comes out of her hand-cannon
and then her armor (Varia Suit) falls off.

< B15 > Pit:
This is Pit's first appearance since
the NES game Kid Icarus.
Pit spams a lot of arrows normally
so just jump or Shield Dodge*
to him and start slashing.
He also normally spams his [>B]/[<B].
Do the same to dodge this.
Pit can also fly really far so
its hard to hit him out.
Unlike other characters, if he
uses his [^B] and you then hit him,
he can't use it again.
Use that to your advantage and Pit
is also really light so just smash
and he should die
pretty easily. He has a projectile
blocker but it doesn't hit yours back
at you so don't worry. His projectile
is a lot faster than yours so don't
rely too much on your projectiles.

If Pit breaks the smash ball:
Jump, shield, run and however else
you can move fast or protect yourself.
Once you get the hang of it,
this final smash won't hurt you at all.
When Pit activates his final smash,
you see his goddess in the back round
and he says "All troops, move out!"
and all these small bee like creatures
appear and start flying at the opponent.

< B16 > Ice Climbers:

These two will be shooting ice pieces
at you a lot so just slash it with your
sword or dodge them to not take any damage.
Use your speed and be in their face
all the time. Since they keep using
their ice attack, its a good idea to stay
in the air and use aerial attacks.
If you have a hard time fighting both,
try to kill one of them and the other
will become a lot worse.
Their [^B] will not take him/her far
and his/her attacks will be easier to dodge.

If the Ice Climbers break the smash ball:
When they activate their smash,
a big iceberg will come up in the
center of the level. If you are on a small
level like Final Destination, you will
take damage no matter where you stand
so try to stay aerial as much as possible.
On bigger levels, you can just
move away from the iceberg and wait for them
to come and continue the fight
away from the iceberg. This smash is terrible
in big levels but pretty
effective in small levels so be careful.

< B17 > R.O.B.

This is a fast sucker but don't worry,
you are still faster.
Don't hesitate to be in its face,
just do it all the time!
Watch out for its laser. If you
see its arms going back a bit, jump
or use your shield.
Thats a clear sign that he is about
to shoot his laser.
This guy can jump freakishly
high and he isn't very light
which makes him hard to smash out.
Just keep being in his
face until he gets a high % and
then use your (>A) A attack a lot.

If R.O.B. breaks the smash ball:
It will probably activate right away.
He gets red energy in front of him
which does damage if you are there.
Keep running, dodge rolling and
jumping away from it.

 < B18 > Kirby:

Don't let Kirby suck you up and use
your bow cause then you won't
be the only one with projectiles.
Since you are the only one with it,
use it if all else fails. As always,
try to be fast and spam lots of attacks.
Kirby is one of the characters that can
fly so you'll have to rely on
smashing Kirby out from the sides or
the top. It shouldn't be too hard
because you guys are about the same
size and Kirby is fairly light.
Kirby's [^B] should be easy to dodge
with dodge rolls* and jumps.

If Kirby breaks the smash ball:
Stay away from Kirby. When Kirby activates,
a cauldron comes up and sucks up all nearby
items and you too if you are close.
If you get caught, you will take a little
bit of damage but you will be sent flying.
When you have a high %, getting caught
can be fatal so just stay AWAY.

< B19 > Meta Knight:
Another flyer :( Meta Knight is also a fast
character but you are still faster.
It is pretty light like Kirby so he can
be smashed out at fairly low percentage.
Like always, be in its face and spam lots
of attacks. It has too aerial recovery attacks.
Watch out for the one where he throws
himself to the right or left as it can do some
damage to you. His [^B] will probably not
hurt you but it takes Meta Knight pretty
far so don't rely on smashing Meta Knight
downward. His tornado attack can do
some good damage so be careful.

If Meta Knight breaks the smash ball:
Keep away from the Meta Knight!
If you are close enough when it activates,
the screen will go black for
a sec and the Meta Knight will slash you
and smash you HARD. You will almost certainly die.

 < B20 > King Dedede:
Dedede is pretty slow but has a REALLY
good jumping skills.
He can fly even though he is a heavy
character and his [^B] takes him really far.
Dedede is fairly slow so use that to
your advantage. He has insane reach with his
hammer so be careful where you stand.
He also has a projectile so be careful even
when you aren't fighting him in close
combat. Use your projectiles because
you have more options.

If King Dedede breaks the smash ball:
When he activates, he will blow a whistle
and lots of those small red guys will
appear and jump around the level.
You don't wanna be touched by any of
them so try to stay in the air or just
where ever the red guys aren't.
Fairly easy to not get hurt very badly.

< B21> Olimar:
This guy is a real pain.
He keeps throwing pikmins at you!
Olimar is pretty fast but I think
that you're still faster. Be in his face all
the time unless he gets some really
strong item or anything like that.
I don't know if you would count his
pikmin throwing as a projectile because
it doesn't go very far.. If so, you
both have projectiles but yours are so
much better so use that to your advantage.
Try to hit him while he is gathering his pikmins too.

If Olimar breaks the smash ball:
This is a hard one. When he activates,
he gets into a rocket and flies out of
the level. You are left behind on the
level and take damage per second while
Olimar is up there. Then he will land in the center
of the level and smash you out of the arena if you
are standing there. ( Thanks to Cory Holden for helping
me

 < B22 > Fox:
Fox is another character who can match
your speed. On top of that,
he has a good projectile AND a projectile
shield. Be careful with how you use
your projectiles but when you can,
try to hit him. As always, try to be fast
with your moves but try to keep them unpredictable.
Since you are both fast,
be in his face and don't slow down for
anything except the best items.

If Fox breaks the smash ball:
When he activates his final smash,
he will yell "Landmaster!"
and a huge vehicle will fall from above.
This is one of the hardest final smashes to survive.
Do NOT stand in front of the cannon cause
that thing will blast you away easily and
do NOT stand ontop of it either as it can
fly to the top of the level to send you flying.
Try to stay behing the landmaster a lot because
it takes a while for it to turn around.
( Thanks chif ii and Alain Christe )

< B23 > Falco:

Very much like Fox but a bit stronger
but a bit slower. His projectile shield
is thrown though instead of just held still.
Unlike Fox, Falco has great aerial
attacks so be careful. I would use the
same strategy as Fox here but mak
sure you are careful when fighting
him in the air.

If Falco breaks the smash ball: Also uses the Landmaster but his
can fly much faster so do NOT get ontop of it!
( Thanks chif ii )

< B24 > Wolf:

The third and final character from
the Starfox series! This guy is slower
that the other two and he is stronger.
He is fairly light so smash a lot.
His projectile can match your bow so be
careful. If you need to use projectiles,
use the boomerang. Use your speed a lot
and be in his face as usual.
Wolf can jump pretty high so you will
probably have to hit him out from
the sides or top. Use your speed to
take him to a high percentage and
then use smash attacks a lot.

If Wolf breaks the smash ball: Stronger and faster than Fox's and Falco's
Landmasters but it can be used for a shorter time. Same strategy
reccomended. ( Thanks chif ii )

< B25 > Captain Falcon:

F-Zero GX's racer Captain Falcon!
This guy is both fast and strong.
He lacks jumping power and recovery
after moves. If he uses Falcon Punch,
RUN LIKE HELL!
If that hits you and you have over
50%, you can die easily.
If you can get behind him when he
is charging his Falcon Punch,
you can cause some serious damage
to him. Don't play too risky though.
Use all your projectiles on this
guy because he has no good way of dodging them.

If Captain Falcon breaks the smash ball:
Keep a distance. If you are close enough
when he activates, his racing car will
hit you and then there will be a scene
where you appear on a race track and
he runs you down with his car. This thing
will send you flying FAR! If there
aren't walls on your level,
its almost a guaranteed kill. Be careful.

< B26 > Pikachu:
Another fast sucker. Pikachu will use
its [vB] a lot which calls down
a thunderbolt from straight above it.
Watch out as it does about 10%
in damage and has a good knock back.
Thats the main attack that Pikachu
uses but watch out for its [B] attack where
it shoots electricity down the level.
You can jump or just Evade*. Use your speed
and be in its face all the time.
Make sure you dodge the attack where it
throws itself at you as it can smash
you out of the level pretty easily or
 ust do good damage.
Pikachu's [^B] takes it pretty far
so don't rely on smashing Pikachu downward.

If Pikachu breaks the smashball: This one
is a real pain. When it activates,
Pikachu turns into an electric ball
and starts flying around the level.
This can be really hard to dodge if
your opponent is very skilled and can prove fatal.
If a beginner or someone who just
isn't very good uses it, it should be pretty
easy to dodge because it flies pretty fast.

 < B27 > Pokmon Trainer:
A) Squirtle

The fastest, lightest and weakest
of the pokemon. You don't need to worry
about the attack where he shoots
water at you as it only pushes you backwards
without causing any actual damage.'
When he goes into his shell and starts sliding
around level, either jump, shield dodge* or evade*.
Use projectiles because you
are the only on who has one.

B) Ivysaur

The middle pokemon. Medium in weight,
strength and speed. Watch out for its Razor Leaf
which is its only projectile. Just jump,
evade* or shield dodge*. Its [B^] doesn't have
a very long reach so edge guard a lot.
Never be directly above Ivysaur cause its [B]
attack shoots seeds straight up and will
get you if you are careless.
Use your projectiles because Ivysaur
only has one. Some of Ivysaurs aerial attacks
shoot spores which have a high knock back so be careful.
( Thanks chif ii )

C) Charizard

The strongest, heaviest and slowest one.
Charizard can jump pretty high so don't
rely too much on smashing it to the bottom.
Don't stand too close to Charizard
if you aren't planning on attack because
he can use his fire breath on you.
Use your projectiles and speed to win.

If Pokemon Trainer breaks the smash ball:
Make sure you aren't standing directly
in front of any of the pokemon. When it activates,
all the pokemon come and shoot
all their strongest attacks in a pretty
straight line in front of them.

< B28 > Lucario:
More pokemon! This guy has a
chargeable projectile just like Samus.
Every time it tries to charge it, attack!
If he ever shoots,
jump, evade* or shield dodge*.
If it does its [vB] and starts
moving slow motion,
do NOT attack! This leaves him
open for a little while after.
Wait about 1 second and then ATTACK.
Even if he isn't moving in fast motion again,
it should still not trigger the counterattack.
Use your speed and be in its face all the time.

If Lucario breaks the smash ball:
He will probably activate right after he gets it.
Get to the highest point of the level
if it isn't the middle and keep jumping over
him or just next to him. Just make sure the
beam doesn't hit you.
When Lucario activates it says "watch the power",
or something like that,
and then jumps to a high point and shoots a
huge beam which is controllable by it.

< B29 > Jigglypuff:
Easy! Jigglypuff is probably one of the
easier characters.
You are faster and stronger. The one
thing Jigglypuff has that you don't
have is the ability to fly. Just be
fast as always and slash a lot
and it should be really easy. If
Jigglypuff is harder for you than
it is for me,
PLEASE email me. ([email protected])

If Jigglypuff breaks the smash ball:
Try to stand under Jigglypuff if possible.
If you are under Jigglypuff when it activates,
you will not be damaged at all.
When Jigglypuff activates its smash,
it grows REALLY big and if you touch
Jigglypuff, you get smashed so watch out.

< B30 > Marth:
Marth is one of the faster characters.
One of the few who can match your speed.
When he uses his [vB] make sure you don't
attack him. He will pull his sword back,
and slash you if you attack him for a while
when his sword his pulled back.
Wait 1 second before attacking him. It will
work even if his sword is still pulled back.
Watch out for his sword combo [>B]. It can
do some good damage to you.
Use your projectiles a lot because Marth
has none.

If Marth breaks the smash ball:
If you are playing a pro,
this can be REALLY hard.
Against a bad player, this is pretty
easy to dodge. When he activates his smash,
he runs down the platform he is on to th
end or, if done in the air, takes him in
a horizontal line all the way to the end.
If he touches you, he will slash and kill you.
Try to stay in the air a lot to confuse
him or wait on the opposite end of a platform
and jump when he activates.

< B31 > Ike:
This guy is similar to Marth in some
ways but is also pretty different.
He is a lot slower and stronger and he
is a lot heavier.
His [vB] is that same as Marths so
use the same tactic of hitting after
1 second has passed.
This fight shouldn't be too hard
because you are very much faster
and more flexible.
Be in his face and attack non-stop.
Ike has 2 ways of getting back on the
stage after
falling off which can be annoying.
Use the fact that neither of them take him very far.

If Ike breaks the smash ball:
Back off! Just stay away. FAR away.
if you get caught in it,
he will send you up into the air
and then jump and slash you a bunch
of times and then
smash you down to the ground which
will send you flying and almost
certainly kill you.
Jump around and be unpredictable.
If the player easily gets excited,
he will probably
activate as soon as he can. This is
good because it will probably go to waste if you
are dodging around.

< B32 > Ness:
This guy is pretty fast so be careful.
When he uses PK Flash or PK Thunder,
attack Ness because he can't move.
Just make sure you watch out for
the actual attack,
Make sure you never leave him alone
and you always attack him non-stop.
He can be pretty hard cause of his
speed and flexibility.
Just keep trying and use your projectiles
cause you are the only one with really ranged ones.

( Thanks to chif ii and Alain Christe )

If Ness breaks the smash ball:
He will probably activate right
away because his covers
the whole level and doesn't require controlling.
He will say "PK STARSTORM" and a bunch
of huge blue energy things will fall from the
sky in diagonal lines at random places.
After the first one has fallen, try to stand
right where it fell because they normally
try to hit every part of the level with the
energy and if you are standing where one
already has hit, its doubtful that it will
actually hit you. If one is about to fall
where you are, use a shield dodge* to move quickly.

< B33 > Lucas:
Lucas is the faster and weaker one.
Instead of using PK Flash, he uses PK Freeze.
You need to watch out for this attack a lot more
than PK Cross because if you get frozen,
he can do a lot of damage to you. Use the tactic
we used on Ness which was to attack while
he is using PK Freeze or PK Thunder. Don't worry
about his projectile eating shield because
none of your projectiles can heal him.
They all still hurt even when he is using it.

If Lucas breaks the smash ball:
Almost that same as Ness's. He will yell "PK STARSTORM"'
and yellow energy things will fall from the sky.
Like Ness, wait for one to fall and then
wait under where it landed. If another one
does land there, use your shield dodge* to move quickly.

< B34 > Mr. Game & Watch:
The weirdest character of them all.
The one and only 2D character. MR. GAME & WATCH!
This guy is slower than you so use your speed a lot.
Use projectiles because Mr. Game & Watch
has none. Don't be distracted by his 2Dness,
just keep attacking all the time.
Be in his face as usual. I don't have
much of a strategy except to be
fast and attack all the time.

If Mr. Game & Watch breaks the smash ball:
He will probably activate right away.
He will turn into a big octopus.
Weird thing is that as an octopus, he still can't fly.
He is still stuck to the ground. He can still jump
but not any further than before. He is fairly slow too.
So just keep moving and jumping and dodging.
It shouldn't be too hard to dodge.

( Thanks to chif ii )

 < B35 > Snake:
This guy can be really hard if a good player is playing.
With Snake you have to be
sneaky and leave bombs where you don't think
anyone will notice and shoot missiles
when you are sure you won't be hit.
When fighting Snake make sure you attack if he
shoots a missile because he can't move then.
Watch out for his (>A),
it has an amazing knock back. It can kill you
at fairly low percentages with ease.
Make sure you keep an eye on Snake as he can
leave bombs that can kill you if you aren't careful.

If Snake breaks the smash ball:
He will probably activate right away.
He will appear on a ladder closer to the screen
with a grenade launcher.
Watch out for the aimer! Jump around and
shield dodge*. It's hard to avoid
every hit but try to dodge as many as possible.
After you have been hit by one grenade,
it will be a lot easier for Snake to hit you
because you will fall and be helpless for a while.

< B36 > Sonic:
Sonic is probably the fastest character in the game.
You'll just have to be faster.
Make sure to jump, evade and shield dodge a lot
when he curls up for any of his [B] attacks.
Be in his face and attack all the time.
Sonic's [^B] takes him freakishly far so smash
him off the sides or top.

If Sonic breaks the smash ball:
He will probably activate immediately and his
blue will turn into gold. He is now Super Sonic!
Now he can fly around the level and every time
he touches you, you will fly back a bit and takes
some damage. This is really hard to dodge when
a skilled player is playing.
Shield dodge a lot and hope for the best.

*See the top of the character fighting
part to see how to do these things.
