Here, everybody worship [sic] the "Crystal Sun"... which protects the kingdom with its light and its benevolent energy. Villagers are gathering in the center place of the village in order to celebrate. They are waiting for the King to come and greet his subjects, from the highest tower of the castle. King: Dear citizens, today is Sun's day and I'm happy to... huh!? Queen Mordak: You insignificant scum, your kingdom of light is nothing. Only darkness and anti-matter are all mighty! You shall all be my slaves, and I shall reign over your world! Ha ha ha! [A gigantic meteor crashes upon the crystal and the palace, shattering the crystal and mortally injuring the King.] Prince Ray: Father... father!!! K: Ray, the Crystal Sun is our energy. It alone is strong enough to push the Queen's army back. Find all the crystals in order to turn the Sun back to its original form. When I found you just in front of the castle doors, you were only a baby. I raised and adopted you, but I always knew that destiny sent you to achieve great things. Take my crown, it grants magical powers to the one who wears it. Go now, and do not cry over my death because my soul shall stay forever by your side and guide you... [The King dies, and Ray dons the crown. Two spirits appear, the angelic Liad and the demonic Gush.] Gush: Who dares wake me? Hum, whoa?! Who is this kid? The old king is young again or what? Liam: Hum, I guess you are the new owner of the crown. Let me introduce myself. I am Liad, a good spirit. I have control over the power of water, I am the spirit of pureness, I symbo- G: Whatever! It's my turn now! I am Gush, a spirit of... character! Rely on me anytime! I love action! With me, no freshness, no purity, my powers are... well, you will watch by yourself! [Antimatter minions of Queen Mordak flood the town and carry villagers away to be slaves. A flying minion tries to carry off Ray, but Ray fights back with his sword. With Gush's help, he forces the minion to let go of him.] K: Ray! Join me. I'm waiting in the underground passage. Hurry! [The gates to the underground passage open.] G: Warning! The Queen's soldiers have scattered antimatter everywhere! If you fall in, you'll be sucked away! Cover the patches with a different liquid so that you can get past it. {Note: it is also possible to travel across antimatter by jumping constantly.} G: If you fall into the antimatter, or if you are caught by one of the monsters, swing the Wii Remote and we will come and get you out! L: To spread some water or vomit on the ground, point at the screen with the Wii Remote and hold down the B Button. [One of the Queen's soliders is blocking the way to the underground passage.] G: Look! There's one of the Queen's soldiers! He doesn't have any armor, so you should be able to finish him off by pouring enough liquid on him! Focus on him and pour the liquid on him without falling into his antimatter patches. L: To focus on an enemy or a particular object, hold down the Z button. To re-center the camera, briefly press the Z button. [Ray sprays a soldier until it dissolves.] L: Great! Nice shot! By overpowering enemies or by pouring liquid on the magic flowers in the world, you can regain life and magic power bonuses. [Ray enters the passage. The King's spirit, a glowing ball of light, speaks to him.] K: Ray! The situation is serious... I'm asking you to go and look for the crystals immediately... They alone will give us the strength to beat Queen Mordack. [sic] R: I'm ready, father. But how do I reach these crystals? K: I'm going to muster my final energy reserves and open a passage for you. Follow it, find the crystals, and bring the light back to us. [A portal to Old Town appears.] K: Go now! I'll meet you when the time comes. And don't forget that light always triumphs. RAY COLLECTS HIS FIRST CRYSTAL R: Father! I'm back! K: Ahh, you scared me! You could have warned me! I... was meditating! R: Are you sure...? K: Er... yes! Anyway! Did you find one of the crystals from the kingdom? R: I found one of them, but when they attacked us, Mordack's soldiers woke the Golems from the island! They destroyed everything in their path, and it became difficult to go any further! K: Mmmm... I see... All you have to do is get rid of them! Put their flames out, then hit them as hard as you can and that's it! The deed is done, isn't it? R: Impossible with this basic weapon! Look! K: Hmmm... the crystal that you found should be able to remedy this little problem. Let the royal crystal transform your weapon and give you the power to destroy your enemies! All of them! [Ray is powered up] G: Cool! Does that work for spirits as well? R: Fantastic... K: So, now you're ready young prince! Go forth and continue your quest. [An armored soldier appears] G: Watch out for the armoured soldier! Use your new power, boss! [Ray breaks the soldier's armor with his sword then sprays it] G: Ok! Let's go! RAY COLLECTS HIS SECOND CRYSTAL R: Father! I'm back! K: I was waiting for you, Ray. R: I've brought back a second crystal, but I can't seem to reach the others! K: Did you say that you can't seem to reach them? R: The second area of the Old City is only connected to the first area by a system of hanging boxes, but the mechanism seems to have jammed... so what should I do now? K: You should return to the Volcanic Island to continue with your quest. The villagers have told me that lots of crystals have been taken there by the monsters. R: That's great, but how do I get there? The island is miles away from here! K: The crystal that you found should give me enough energy to solve this problem... Let the door of Volcano Island open before us! [The portal to Volcano Island appears... way up high] G: Good luck getting in... I'll wait for you below. L: Gush! Don't be difficult! R: Gush is right... I can't see how we can get to that door... I'm not going to attach myself to the blades of the windmill! K: Are you sure...?Let the royal crystal strengthen your crown and give you the power to spray Slime! [Ray is powered up] K: With this new power, you have the ability to stick [sic] everything around you. But be careful, because this liquid requires a lot of energy! Make absolutely sure that you replenish it! [Ray leaves the underground passage] R: What do we do now? Any suggestions? L: We two choices. [sic] Either we can go back to the Old City to reactivate the mechanism leading to the second area of the city... G: ...or we can go to Volcano Island to find another crystal! It's up to you boss! [Ray approaches a ledge he can slime jump upon.] G: This wall is a bit too high to climb onto. L: Gush, couldn't you cast some slime so that Ray to climb? [sic] RAY COLLECTS HIS THIRD, ETC. CRYSTAL R: Let's find a new mission guys! IF RAY TRIES TO ENTER A WORLD WITH CRYSTALS HE CAN'T GET YET L: I'm sorry Ray. There aren't any new crystals available right now. We should try another place. RAY COLLECTS HIS FIFTH CRYSTAL R: Father! I'm back! K: You're making rapid progress, young Prince... but why stop when you're doing so well? R: I've brought back some new crystals, but I can't seem to reach the rest! K: You can't reach them? R: Yes, father. So, what should I do now? K: You should return to the land of ice and find the crystals which have been hidden in its towers. R: That's great, but how do I get there? the [sic] ice tower is miles away from here! K: The crystal that you found should give me enough energy to solve this problem. Let the door to the Ice Tower open before us! [The portal to the Ice Tower opens on a high-floating island] G: Do you know how to fly now? L: Gush! Don't be sarcastic! R: Gush is right... I can't see how to reach this door... I'm not going to fly to the spot where the teleportation door is! K: Take the staircase in the west wing of the castle to reach the path around the battlements... fly away to the island! Let the Royal Crystal strengthen your crown and give you the power to spray ice! [Ray is powered up] K: With this new power, you have the ability to move very quickly and to jump further! But be careful, because this liquid requires a lot of energy! Be absolutely sure to replenish it! RAY COLLECTS HIS SIXTH CRYSTAL: R: Father! I'm back! K: Ray, the latest crystals that you found in the ice tower seem strange to me. R: What do you mean? K: The temperature they were exposed to has given them unique properties that might be useful for your quest. R: You're worrying me... K: No, don't worry! I think that this new power will enable you to jump on ice! G: Fantastic! K: If you perform a double jump on an inclined surface covered in ice, you should be able to jump farther than ever! Let the royal crystal strengthen your sword and give you the power to bring the ice to life! [Ray is powered up] R: I feel really strange. We'll try that when we return to the Ice Tower. RAY COLLECTS HIS TENTH CRYSTAL R: Father! I'm back! K: Ray, the villagers have spotted another group of soldiers transporting crystals. They would now be at the foot of the Frost Tower. R: The Frost Tower? K: Architects at the time used the Frost Tower as a model when building the Ice Tower that you know. {Note: Yeah, right. Nice lampshade for reusing graphics.} R: So, I should feel at home. K: On the contrary! Be careful because several of us have ventured there.... but no one has returned alive. R: ... Wow, now that's a shot of confidence. K: The latest crystals that you found should give me enough energy to open a door for you into this world. Let the door to the Frost Tower open before us! [The Frost Tower portal appears] R: I've always been a fan of winter sports... Let's go! [Ray gets on the castle battlements and an enemy conveniently creates an antimatter portal] G: What's this thing?! L: It's one of the navigation corridors that the Antimatter Soldiers use for moving around quickly! They've hollowed one out almost everywhere, but there's a chance that we can use it to get through! Don't get rid of it! R: If I move towards this thing and get nabbed, I'm blaming it all on you Liad! RAY COLLECTS HIS FOURTEENTH CRYSTAL/DEFEATS THE GOLEM KING R: Father! I'm back! K: I have some important news for you three. Queen Mordack's soldiers have warned her about your quest and as a result, she has stepped up her production of eggs. R: So, I imagine this means a massive invasion is imminent... Speed is of the essence. K: I think we need to act where she least expects it... in other words, in her lair! R: Are you crazy?! I'm not prepared to confront her hordes, especially not on their home turf! K: OK then... We'll wait until she comes with her army of soldiers, then we'll decide! OK? At least we're at home here... for the time being... R: OK, you win. But how do we get to her? Through yet another very special little door? K: Yes, I'm going to create a way for you to access her world. Once you're there, be extremely careful. The sky there is dark and tormented and meteorite showers are poised to annihilate any intruders. Good luck, Son! Let the door to Mordack's kingdom open before your eyes! [A grate rises and the portal to Mordack's Lair appears] G: Great. How original... L: Gush! Don't you have any respect? K: I thought it sounded good! However, I have a second gift for you which is very closely linked to the first one. R: Now you're worrying me... K: You know, in my state, I don't have many sources entertainment! [sic] Let the royal crystal reinforce your crown and give you the power to hurl antimatter! [Ray is powered up] K: You now hold the weapon of your enemies. Make good use of it. But be careful because this liquid also requires energy! So make sure that you replenish it! RAY COLLECTS HIS EIGHTEENTH CRYSTAL R: Father! I'm back! K: Ray, the moment has come to attack the problem at its source... R: What do you mean? K: All of the crystals that you found will strengthen your sword enough for you to be able to smash the eggs which the Queen's soldiers emerge from. R: Some of them are going to regret ever hatching! K: You've hit the nail on the head! I even think that if you smash enough eggs in a single area you should be able to reveal the final crystals hidden by these monsters. G: I never liked eggs. L: You don't like anything, Gush. K: Let the royal crystal strengthen your sword and give you the power to smash Morack's evil for good! [Ray is powered up] R: You have some funny expressions father... RAY COLLECTS HIS TWENTY-THIRD CRYSTAL R: Father! I'm back! K: The doors to Queen Mordack's kingdom are within sight young Prince. R: That's what we thought before... K: No, but this is certain. R: Yeah, yeah, we'll see... K: Look if you don't believe me! [The portal to Mordack's Fortress appears] R: Calm down! I believe you! Anyway... RAY COLLECTS HIS THIRTIETH CRYSTAL R: Father! I'm back! K: Young Prince, you've gathered almost all of the crystals from the kingdom. In fact, you're only missing one now... R: I understand, and it scares me! K: Yess... The final crystal is guarded by Queen Mordack herself! R: OK, guide me to her and be my light! K: Take care of yourself Son. Her hatred and isolation has turned her into a formidable enemy. Let the door of darkness open before us! [The gate to the Final Battle appears] R: I'll never get used to it... Let's go! RAY'S CASTLE V: I've heard that nasty spiders live in the Ice Tower... Have you seen any yet? V: There is a kind of shiny circle above the second windmill of our town. I don't know what it could be. V: I was picking flowers near the windmill when I heard a scary noise! V: There really must be a way to get rid of these monsters! Too many of our own people have succumbed! V: Look! The door leading to the Cold Tower is just in front of you! If you want to reach it, use the power of ice! Spread, run, jump and just fly! V: I'll guard the entrance to the dungeon! Let the monsters return. They'll soon see what I'm made of. V: Can you hear the sound made when you walk here? It sounds kind of hollow! I hope we don't have any stone termites under our feet! V: Have you seen that? The flowers are beginning to grow again! V: Our wheat reserves come from the ancient island. Because of the fires caused by the Golems, our harvests are getting worse every year... V: Most of our people are still being held as prisoners by the monsters... I hope we'll see them again one day! THE OLD CITY Chapter 1: The parchments (Part I) The crystal is kept in the main tower of the Old City. Find the hidden parchments to open the magical door of the tower and get the crystal. [Liad spots a villager in a cage.] L: Look! The poor villagers! The soldiers have taken them prisoner! We have to free them Ray! Free them and they will help us! G: Hmmm... This cage looks weak enough to break with your weapon... L: To break the cage, stand close to it and swing the Wii Remote. [Ray frees the villager.] V: Thank you Ray! Tell me if you need any help! I'll help in any way I can! V: If you find the four parchments in the room, you'll be able to recreate a magic symbol. Step to the magic plate on the door and draw this symbol. Search thoroughly. They might be hidden or in the hands of monsters! Good luck! [Ray sees some jars.] G: Ray! Swing the Wii Remote to brake [sic] these old jars... They always contain some stuff! [Ray approaches a target switch.] G: You should be able to open this gate by shooting liquid onto the shield of its mechanism. Try it and see! [Ray sprays the target switch.] G: Well played! You'll find plenty of other mechanisms like that in this land that will open plenty of paths for you! [Ray collects all the parchments and talks to the villager again.] V: Well played, Ray! Step to the magic plate on the door and draw this symbol. Warning! The door won't open unless the exact shape of this symbol is reproduced! [Ray opens the door, enters, and catches a brief glimpse of an invisible bird in slime.] R: Hey! What was that? G: An air walking chicken!? Now I'm really hungry! V: It's very strange! These ruins are inhabited by small beings who can make themselves invisible. They're not evil, they're just known to steal. These little beings can be found thanks to their highly individual little cries. So, keep your ears open! If you manage to uncover them, they'll be disorientated [sic] and you'll be able to take back what they've stolen. One more thing! They sometimes build paths with their invisible feathers. That lets them travel over certain precipices. You can reveal them by spreading colored liquids on them! Just try it if you can't find your way! [Ray sees a wall of fire.] L: Ray, I'm sure that I can extinguish this fire for you! Please, let me try! G: Showoff! L: Don't hate! To completely extinguish a fire, all the flames must be watered! To choose me, press the left or right of the +Control Pad and water the flames. [Ray douses the wall of fire.] G: Ok! Let's go! V: Hi Ray! Oh! You haven't found all the parchments? I think I know which room they're in. Let me think... The first one is behind the grid of a big field of wheat. You'll find the second one at the bottom of a fruit tree... The third one has been stolen by the flying monsters... Maybe they put it into an egg? The last one is close to the burning houses behind a big drop. [Ray tries a detour] V: You can't reach the second district of the island for now. I'm sorry. [Ray tries another detour] L: This grid is blocked. But there is a switch to open it close to one of our fields of wheat. [Ray approaches a wooden fence.] G: This old fence blocks the way... but it seems quite weak... V: The old inhabitants were very clever in this city! Look! This switch allows you to hang a strange flying handle in order to reach the second floor of the room! Its [sic] amazing... V: Are you listening Ray? I think there is something strange underground. We can feel some vibrations, you know? G: Forget it boss! I think this guy stayed in the sun way too long... V: I know there is a secret way in this room, to reach the old prison in front of me. But I don't see anything. Maybe you will find it. V: The trapped egg that you can see hooked behind the gate contains the parchment that you're looking for. I saw them putting it there before they locked me up! If you manage to open the gate, you'll be able to unhook the egg and obtain the parchment. Use your eyes! Chapter II: The attack of the Golems The soldiers of the Queen have awaken [sic] the Golems! Find and destroy the 3 Golems before they burn all of the city! V: I hate them! I hate them! I hate them! R: Hello! What's happened to you, villager? V: As if one misfortune wasn't enough! Not only were we overrun by these antimatter monsters, but three huge Golems from the mountains also saw fit to destroy our crops! My brother barely had time to hide in an ancient ruined temple... He's been traumatized by this attack! If you get rid of these infamous Golems for us, we'll give you the crystal you're looking for! But don't forget, these monsters can't be harmed by a sword alone! The heat of their flaming bodies shields them! [Ray destroys the first Golem] G: Great! Next! [Ray destroys the second Golem] G: OK, let's find the last one. [Ray destroys the last Golem] G: Let's get that crystal! V: No! No! Nooooo! There are more of them. I can feel it! These awful Golems! I can't bare [sic] them any longer! Thanks for your help! My sister and I are eternally greatful [sic] to you! Chapter III: The parchments (Part II) Due to your progress, the soldiers of the Queen have locked up this crystal behind a magical door in the second district of the Old City. Find the four parchments and the door will open. V: The crystal that you're looking for is in the second area of the city, so look at your compass. If you want to reach it, first, you'll have to reactivate the mechanism leading to this area. Next, you'll need some parchments to get it. [a tornado minion appears] L: What is it?! G: It's a kind of tornado! Be careful, Ray! R: Gush! Stick him down! When he's not moving I'll destroy his armour! [Ray destroys the tornado minion] G: Not bad Ray! [Ray forges on] V: To pick up this box, press the C button. To drop the box, press the C button again. If you drop the box, it will reappear where you previously found it. Good luck Ray! {Note: You can also throw a crate by holding the analog stick in one direction and tapping C} V: Normally, there is a mechanism here which makes it possible to reach the other side of the wall, but it seems to be deactivated since the monsters arrived. There must be a switch to reactivate it. You should be able to reach the other side of the town now since you have reactivated the mechanism. V: I tried to stick a wooden box on the pillar to join my brother, but I can't do it. You might want to try using the box. Maybe you'll succeed. V: Ray! I'm so happy to see you! [Ray destroys a hanging egg] G: Fortunately, there was nothing in that egg! I'm not diving into that lava to sort out your silly mistakes! V: Hi! Oh! You haven't found all the parchments? I think I know which room they're in. Let me think... The first one is very near here! Search thoroughly! You'll find the second one inside a vase hidden in a guarded house... The third one was hidden by the invisible birds near the hanging crate... The last one was seen in a hidden room near lava. I see that you've already found the first one! You'll find the second one inside a vase hidden in a guarded house... The third one was well camouflaged, wasn't it? Those thieving birds get everywhere... The last one was near the wheat field where the Golems emerged from. They were telling me the truth. Hi! I see that you have all the parchments you need to be able to open the magic door. Chapter IV: Invisible birds Four invisible birds have stolen the crystal. It will be revealed only if the four birds are neutralized! Find them, trap them and splash them! Let the hunting begin! V: Ray! The invisible birds have stolen the crystal that you're looking for! If you want it, you'll have to find these pesky tricksters! I'll remind you how to find them: listen carefully because they always caw when they're scared and they leave footprints if they walk in colored liquids. Good luck! G: Are you hearing what I'm hearing? I think an invisible bird brushed against us... Maybe you could trap it with some slime... [one bird down] G: Great! Who's next?! G: Mmmm... Invisible bird again? [two birds down] G: Next! G: Mmmm... Invisible bird again? [three birds down] G: Great! Who wants some fried chicken?! Next! G: Mmmm... Invisible bird again? V: Ray! I think there is a bird behind that gate. I'm not sure but I heard some noise and it smells like chiken [sic] here! G: Boss, we need to go around the town to reach this place. Remember? There were some ice launchers. Chapter V: The eggs of Queen Mordack Free the old city by destroying all the Queen's eggs. Then a new crystal will be revealed. V: Hi! Unless you destroy all the eggs, the crystal won't appear... Keep looking! Well played! You've destroyed all of the eggs in the city! If I had arms I would give you a hug! VOLCANO WORLD Chapter I: The parchments (Part I) A new crystal is available. Find the 4 hidden parchments, open the door of Volcano Island and get the crystal! G: Boss! We're boiling in here! You want us to end up like grilled wieners?! L: How can you think of lunch when I'm melting! V: The first is surrounded by flames. The second is behind a door. The third is in front of a monster. The fourth is carried by an invisible entity. The whole gets the Crystal! V: Did you see footsteps on the ground? They've been left by an invisible bird. If you want to catch this bird, follow the footsteps! They like a good chase! You'll have to trap the bird by spreading some slime in his path to stick him down! After that, you'll be able to paint him in order to take back the objects he stole! Good luck Ray! V: Look! It's a kind of pressure-sensitive switch! If you climb onto it, a door linked to it will open. But if you walk away from it, the door will close. I'm wondering how to reach the door without getting off of the switch. Maybe by putting a heavy object on it... That big plant bears some strange fruit. Try spraying the plant with some liquid. By the way, these fruits are very heavy! You can take them where you want by using your liquids. Good luck Ray! Chapter II: Upside down The old civilization was smart but quirky! Unfortunately, you have to use their inventions to get the crystal! [When Ray rides an upside down platform] L: Jump if you want to unstick yourself! [When Ray approaches the crystal] L: The crystal is right here in front of us! Look! The switch for the door is just up above! G: Stop yapping and make that mouth useful for once! We are not blind, crawler! V: To pick up this box press the C Button. To drop the box, press the C Button again. If you drop the box, it will reappear where you previously found it. Good luck Ray! Chapter III: Ray the sky walker Flocks of invisible birds in Volcano Island have built many invisible roads. Reveal them and find the crystal! V: Some surfaces are invisible. Spread some liquid randomly and see how you can walk through. Good luck Ray! Chapter IV: The king of the Golems The destruction of the Golems has unleashed the rage of their King! It's time to settle the score with him! R: This place is too quiet... L: Mmm... what's that smell? Looks like sulfur or... Gush! You that's disgusting! [sic] G: What!? That's wasn't me! [sic] [a grate closes] R: I knew it! It's a trap! They've been chasing us! L: ... G: Ray! What is it??? Look at this monster! L: The King of the Golems!!! Be swift and be careful of his burning fists! Chapter V: The eggs of Queen Mordack Free Volcano Island by destroying the Queen's eggs. Then a new crystal will be revealed. V: You'll have to destroy more eggs if you want the door to open! Congratulations! COLD TOWER Chapter I: The main Tower The soldiers have hidden their first crystal on the top of the Cold Tower. Climb, jump and run if you want to take it! G: OK. When I said it was too hot on the volcanic island, you really didn't have to take us somewhere that's completely the opposite Boss! L: He doesn't have any choice Gush! G: Blah blah blah! Why don't we go and look for crystals on a tropical island inhabited by exquisite bikini-wearing girl demons?! V: Brrrrr! It's freezing here! OK, ice is fun for all of five minutes. But these shivers are going to make my teeth crack! [Ray steps on a timed switch] L: Ray, you can use my ice to increase your speed and go under the gate before it closes. G: "My" ice? What a show-off! I can't believe it. Ray could get their [sic] just fine with "my" vomit. That requires a little bit more technique, that's all. R: Liad knows this place, so we'll follow her advice. Off we go! [Ray goes under the gate] L: There you go. Easy. G: You saw that, didn't you Ray? See, she's provoking me! R: Stop it you two, or we'll end up being spotted! G: Oops... too late. V: You know that by using ice you can jump much further than you could normally. Think about that! V: Phew! I was worried that you wouldn't see me in this corner! I've got something to tell you. Look, there's a hole in the wall next to the switch. You should take a look! [Ray reaches an area with crumbling midair platforms] G: I didn't actually tell you, but I... I suffer from vertigo. R: Really? When did that start, Gush? G: When I looked down, I think... Chapter II: The riddle of the architect An old legend says the architect of the tower has built a special room with strange patterns. The soldiers have hidden a crystal in this room. V: Do you see this raised plaform? When it's covered in ice you might be able to do a rebound jump! To do that, jump above it, then, when you begin to fall, press the C Button. [Ray encounters a bazooka soldier] G: Ha ha! Another fat slob in armor. Err, hang on! Am I imagining things or is he holding... a rocket launcher?! L: I heard about an elite unit that's responsible for protecting the tower. Rumor has it that these soldiers don't have any weak points... R: No weak points? Does this mean they're invincible? G: If that's the case, we're really in for a hellish time! L: Rumor also has it that they can only be destroyed by themselves. It's only a rumor, but we shouldn't ignore it. G: Maybe we can use their own weapons against them? R: Not a bad idea, Gush! But let's not hang around to see whether you're right... He's spotted us! [Ray approaches the second crystal] G: The second crystal is very close, I can feel it... Yet more magical intuition of which Gush knows the secret! L: Everything points towards the fact that Gush is right, for once... G: Wh...?! R: Good! Once we've discovered the secret of this strange room, the second crystal will be ours! V: This place gives me the creeps! It's infested with ice spiders! If you see any, do the same as me... RUN! R: Thanks, but now thanks! I'm here to fight! V: I recognize you there, son of Ranulf! Anyway, these spiders have a flaw! Hit the ground with your sword and there you go! They'll be on their backs and at your mercy, for a few seconds anyway! V: There's an ancient legend about this room... These architects were supposedly twin brothers, and did everything in duplicate... How strange! Chapter III: The parchments Four parchments have been lost in the big Cold Tower. Gather information and find them to open the magical door hidden in the deepest room of the tower. V: Hi! To get to the crystal, you'll have to find the four parchments scattered throughout the chateau. The first one can be found at the chateau entrance. The second one was stolen by an invisible bird, probably where its nest is. The third one is in the hands of one of the armed guards in the architects' room. The last one is at the top of the chateau's highest tower. [Ray reaches the room of invisible roads] L: I can feel a presence... We're not alone. An invisible creature is prowling and silently observing us. G: Hmmm... If you're trying to scare us, let me tell you right now that you've failed miserably! You don't scare me at all! L: Gush, I know perfectly well that you're shaking like a leaf because of the cold... G: Wh...?! R: Quiet, you two! We're going to flush out this invisible creature. There must be a reason why it's here! L: A wise decision Ray. G: Oh I can't believe it. What a joker! Grrr... [Ray enters the trap room] G: Open gates, an unhindered pathway. It's all too easy... There's something fishy going on. And I'm something of an expert in fishy goings-on! R: Maybe, but we have no choice. It's our only option. So let's keep our eyes peeled! [Ray reaches the upper area of the Cold Tower] G: A little bird tells me that there's something interesting in the corner. Intuition... L: Gush is right. Maps of the tower show that there's a secret room in this section of the tower. We'll probably be able to find another crystal there! R: Perfect! We'll be able to enter this secret room once we've collected all four parchments! V: Hi! Oh! You haven't found all the parchments?! I think I know which room they're in. Let me think... I can see that you've already found the first one at the chateau entrance. The invisible bird had the second one. You really made its day! The third one is in the hands of one of the armed guards in the architect's room. The last one was right at the top of the tower in the architect's room. But you already know that because you have it now. [Ray makes his way onward] G: Hey, look over there! L: The last piece of parchment! V: Hi! I see that you have all the parchments you need to be able to open the magic door! Chapter IV: The immured crystal Some of the villagers have seen the soldiers immuring a crystal behind a cold hard place... find this place and get the crystal! R: The path is blocked! We can't go any further! G: I suggest we force our way through! Just like in the good old days! L: Where now Gush? The fourth crystal is waiting for us behind one of these walls, but we don't have to break everything to discover it. R: Yes, I'd prefer to know where it is before I take the plunge. Chapter V: The eggs of Queen Mordack Free the tower by destroying the Eggs of Queen Mordack. Then a crystal will be given to you as a gift. G: Hmmm... can you smell what I can smell? R: Oh no, Gush. Don't tell me that... G: Stop imagining things. I was talking about the Cry... Hey! The Crystal! I was sure that it smelled like a crystal! R: Fantastic! All we have to do is figure out how to get to it! V: Hi! Unless you've destroyed 8 eggs, you won't see the crystal. Have another look! FROST TOWER Chapter I: In the depth of the Frost Tower Go in the depth of the Frost Tower to activate it and bring it to life! Then the way leading to the first crystal will open. V: You'll only be able to see the final crystal when you've smashed enough eggs. You haven't managed to smash any eggs yet. You've got 1 left to smash, so you really need to get cracking as quickly as possible! You've now got nine eggs left to smash! V: Hey you! Stay where you are! Can you see these trembling platforms? I threw a pebble onto one of them, and guess what? The platform collapsed! Check before you step, if you know what I mean... V: Oh hi! If you're planning to try to force your way through, I'd strongly advise against it! But I came across something interesting. I must have jotted it down on a bit of paper... Oh yes, here it is! "Nestling underneath your feet, hidden from your eye, Able to reverse them both, A precious ally." I read that once on a map of the tower, but I can't see what it refers to! Chapter II: Aerobatics Reach the top of the first tower's area and do aerobatics to get the crystal! Don't get too cocky! V: This platform teleports, so you'll have to be able to put together a few acrobatic movements. I used to have a cousin who was an acrobat. He was really talented - that is until he had a fall. It was not a pleasant site... [sic] Oh well, good luck to you! [If Ray fails to do a rebound jump at the crossroad] L: This area was originally designed for denying access to the top of the tower. This deactivated wind tunnel should lead to a path that is normally inaccessible. G: Which means that all we have to do is find the mechanism that activates it! It's around somewhere, I can feel it in my bones! Chapter III: Tower's Labyrinth The soldiers of Queen Mordack have found the labyrinths within tower. [sic] Solve the puzzles and mechanisms to free the crystal! V: Hi Ray! Have you already had a go at the "roll-o-ball" game? I'll explain it to you. It's very simple: One ball, one track, one hole. All you have to do is aim correctly! Also, use the piece to correct your shot, in case it's not accurate. Now get playing! V: I don't want to jump, no I don't want to... The platforms are teleporting too quickly, and I'm certainly no elite acrobat! Chapter IV: Queen of the spiders. Too many spiders have been killed! Their Queen is in rage! [sic] Find her and take her paws! [sic] You will obtain her crystal. V: But what are you doing there? You're making your way towards the Queen's lair! Run away, you poor misguided thing! Run away! V: Shhhh, or someone will hear us! Do you intend to go into the Arena of Tests? It's a terrible place protecting a crystal that's even brighter than the sun itself. I fear that it's well guarded... L: I've got a bad feeling about this... G: Possibly, but it's too late to go back! The crystal is waiting for us on the other side! [Ray enteres the Queen Spider's lair. Gush and Liad fly him to safety when a platform crumbles under his feet.] R: Look! The crystal is right here. L: A little hop and a skip and that's it! Easy sailing! G: Hurry up! My tongue is completely frozen! Not to mention it's almost lunch time. R: Wait a minute... I feel a presence... [The Queen of Spiders appears] L: Gwrrah! G: The Queen of the Spiders! Chapter V: The eggs of Queen Mordack Find the four parchments and open the door protecting the last crystal! Be careful, the crystal will be available only when the eggs of the Queen are destroyed V: Psst! You, over there! Psst! Come and see! I'm not sure if you know, but... without the four pieces of the parchment, you won't get very far! Go, I'll help you a bit. A rebellious soldier has stolen the first parchment and fled, with his accomplices, to the top. He's injured, so you should be able to track him fairly easily... The second piece is hidden away in the egg on a "roll-o-ball" track. It's not REALLY a track, but once you're there you'll definitely see what I mean! If you go near the Arena of Tests remember to look up, because the third parchment is hidden away in one of these disgusting flying eggs... The last piece is in the hands of an elite guard with his friends at the top of the room with two clocks. You'll have to confront this guard and his friends in order to get hold of the parchment. Indeed, you know everything. Don't forget to scour the four wings of the tower, because there's a parchment hidden in each one! Wow! You finally collected the four parchments... It was no meager task, and you can now open the magic door! [Ray reaches the Aerobatics Wing] R: Strange, signs of a struggle? It looks like there has been a ruckus in the corner! G: Whoever was responsible for them must be really bashed up. We might be able to take advantage of it and worm information out of him, and even more if we handle it well. L: Going on these initial signs, I'd say that he has taken refuge up above. R: Here we go! He won't escape from us now! [Ray follows the trail] G: Right... The tracks finish here, which means that our man is hiding behind one of these walls. Be careful as he may be armed! [Ray reaches the Two Clocks wing] V: Tick... Tock... Tick... Tock... I've been watching these two pendulums move for hours... I've come to the conclusion that the precise middle-point is probably between the tick and the tock. Don't thank me! V: What? You've got the whole parchment? Impressive. IM- PRESS-IVE. You'll only be able to see the final crystal when you've smashed enough eggs. V: By concentrating really hard, I'm sure that I can predict the movement of these magical platforms... ... ...... ...........!!! I can't do it... Maybe if I scrunch up my eyes? V: I heard that a mad king used to live hear a long time ago. He made poor devils stay on his infernal roundabout, laughing and increasing the speed when he heard their screams. Of course, these are only tall tales to scare children. But I wouldn't advise you to dwell on uncertainties. V: This sleeping mechanism should allow you to climb higher. Providing, of course, that you manage to reactivate it! V: I really wonder how someone as short-legged as him intends to get there... Oops, sorry! I was thinking aloud. Good luck! I have confidence in you! V: You'll only be able to see the final crystal when you've smashed enough eggs. QUEEN MORDACK'S LAIR Chapter I: The Death Roll Avoid the meteors, slash through the Queen's soldiers and get past the Death Roll to obtain the crystal. V: The yellow buttons are actually thrusters which enable you to jump far. And three shields, like the one on the other side of this ledge, disable an electric barrier which blocks a passage further on. The strangest thing is that the barrier doesn't appear to be protecting anything. This meteor shower is a real pain. Try to avoid the impact areas since it must really hurt if you find yourself in the wrong place at the wrong time... I'm too scared of monsters, so I can't help you more than that. Chapter II: Teleporters Watch your back as you travel deeper into Mordack's Fortress. [sic] V: Phew! There are no more meteors falling! But be careful anyway, because you never know what might emerge from the antimatter that's left. V: Right. I'm not all that clever, but I do get the impression that you can't be on this button and climb onto the platform at the same time... There must be something heavy in the corner to hold the button down. What? You want my help? . .. ... Well, if I had legs that would work, but not in this case! Do you need my portrait? Chapter III: The Ledge Take care of the Queen's traps in your quest for the crystal. V: A-A-A-Ah, A-A-A-Ah, A-A-A-Ah, A-A-A-Ah, -------- A-A-A- Ah, I'm scaaaarred... On the other side of the electric barrier, I saw so many monsters! Brrrr. If I were you, I wouldn't deactivate it. Mmm... If only you had a rock... Anyway! I won't give you any more information now, it's for your own good. So go home! V: I wouldn't even attempt to reach the ledge on the other side. Have you seen the lightning? I'd say that you need to know how to use your imagination... Right, I'm not going to do the lion's share of the work for you either! Does antimatter mean anything to you? V: Laaalalalaaaaaa, lalalalalaaaaaa Chapter IV: More bolts The Queen's soldiers have hidden the crystal in a place they are sure you will not find. Prove them wrong. V: Err... Thanks for setting me free, but I would like to ask you for a last favor... The monster which kidnapped me is on the other side of the chasm. I would bite back but, without arms, it's not that easy. Kill it for me, and come back to me. I shall help you in your quest. Come back to me when the monster is killed. Great, thanks. I have my revenge. You can save some time by throwing antimatter next to me. V: This lightning is moving far too quickly to just be able to run through it. But there must be a way to reach the other side... What? Chapter V: The eggs of Queen Mordack Undergo your first attack on the Queen's Fortress by destroying all the eggs and finding the last crystal on the floor. V: Hey brow, haven't you got a gold coin? A little bit of mana then? You failed, cousin. V: What's going on? I dreamed about this damned lightning last night. You'll never guess in a million years that the pesky eggs in these caves will have to be broken in two to stop the lightning. But don't ask me how to do it because I have no idea. What am I doing here by the way? Have you broken all the eggs? Well done my Ray! MORDACK'S FORTRESS Chapter I: First steps Discover the fortress and it's [sic] mechanical secrets. V: Hi pal! I spotted a crystal just there, down below! And you can deactivate the lightning protecting it by walking on that button! You light up the button, run, jump and there you go! You grab the crystal! It's so easy! Well, I guess... Oh yes. You actually have to jump quite far to reach the crystal. Or you could try to find something heavy to hold the button down. What? Not me! Are you implying that I'm heavy? Good luck, pal! V: Ah! You talked to the other one up there? He's bird brained! I saw him trying to jump down to the crystal below! He almost broke every bone in his body. Anyway, I hope you didn't listen to him! Anyway, I rummaged everywhere, and I think I know how to make the big blades above rotate. By doing that, it would be possible to go deeper into the labyrinth. Anyway, there are also these big trap doors on the ceiling. I'm sure that all of the openings lead to something. Anyway. Chapter II: The Guards The Queen asked some of her best soldiers to protect the crystal. V: Ah, you managed to take the crystal. Well done! But it was a good [sic] that I was here, wasn't it? V: Ar! Zank you for saving me! For your trouble, let me ezplain somesing! Zese big blades not only make wind! You can use zem to go furzer! Just jump on zem and zey will carry you to ze ozer side of ze room! But you'll need to be able to pass zrough zee walls. Right, that's it. I'm fed up with this accent. It gets so tiring after a while! Chapter III: The First Chamber Explore the First Chamber, solve its mysteries and obtain the crystal. Chapter IV: The Second Chamber The Queen's Lair is strongly protected. Take your time, explore and gather information. V: Hey, how did I end up here? Oh no, now I'm here but I'm stuck. I guess the view isn't bad after all. Chapter V: The eggs of Queen Mordack Destroy the last eggs and prepare yourself for the ultimate battle! V: Mmmmmmm... Mmmmmm... Mmmhh mmmmh... V: Roses are blue and the sky is red. Oranges are black and beans are green. Apples are square, etc. It's a great poem, don't you think? Sorry, if I'm of no use to you... V: Ha ha! I can fly! You see? Well, no. They're actually invisible platforms. I know, it's a bit strange... Ha ha ha! V: This thruster will take you to Mordack's fortress. The path is blocked by three big trap doors. The first one opened when you pressed the button and it lit up. Did you come across a large stone wheel in one of the caves? It can somehow be used to open the second trap door. You held the button down with a rock? Pretty good! How did I find out this information? I have an informant amongst the enemy! How come it's "not credible"? Well, do you want me to repeat it? Right, that's it. Good luck up there! V: Well done for getting this far! But don't go any further. If you use this thruster you'll be propelled to the court of Queen Mordack's fortress! It's full of monsters, and there are meteors falling everywhere! If you're looking for a way out again, there's a teleportation door in one of the corners of this room... I strongly encourage you to use it! THE FINAL BATTLE R: Here we are. Gush, Liad, I'm happy to introduce you to... ...Queen Mordack! L: I'm counting on you guys! G: Hi, gorgeous! R: Let's get the final crystal now! [Ray wins the Final Battle] R: Well, it's been nice knowing you two. G: I'm gonna cry, man! L: I knew that, deep down, you were sensitive Gush. R: Look! The crystal... it's coming back! [The last crystal returns to Ray and Mordack's remaining eggs break apart] K: I've always known since I picked you up when you were very young that you would go on to achieve great things. And here you are, ready to step into my shoes... R: You know father, when I dealt the death blow to Queen Mordack, I felt an intense burning sensation deep down inside. It was as if a part of my soul had a connection with this antimatter being. K: Hmmm... there are truths that you're not yet completely ready to face up to. The time will come Ray, but in the meantime, you should go to your people because they're waiting for their new King. R: Goodbye, Father! Something tells me that we'll meet again. You still have so much to teach me about my past. [Ray, Gush, and Liad are welcomed back to Ray's kingdom, where cheering villagers happily toss Ray in the air to celebrate. Credits roll.] THE END
