Alright, time to get the legal stuff outta the way.

I do not own Sonic the Hedgehog in any way, shape or form.
Sonic and any other related characters are SEGA and Sonic Team.

Don't edit and/or claim this guide as your own. I put alot of work
into this y'know.

At the moment, this guide is only up on GameFAQs, but if you'd
like to host it on your site, just send me an email. It's likely
I'll say yes. =P

    3. Guide Information
+------------------------------+

Hey there guys and gals, I'm Chaos the Hedgehog, or just ChaosTH
for short (that and people seem to keep stealing my name ^^;).
Welcome to my first ever guide! For a while now I've felt like
writing up a guide for something, and as I kept saying what I thought
were somewhat guide worthy comments on the gears and whatnot in SR:ZG,
I figured that it would be a good game to start with. =P

To begin with, I thought I was gonna do a full walkthrough for the game
but in the end decided I'd go for something smaller. That and I didn't
want to type out all the missions in story mode. xD

Anyway, the purpose of this guide is to give you an in-depth look
at the characters and the gears, stating their skills and attributes
in as much detail as possible. Giving you a better idea of who to pick
and what gear they should be riding.

Also be warned that as this guide tells you how to unlock certain
characters and gears, as well as certain story elements, it contains
spoilers. So yeah.

If you have any questions about the guide, or have something you think
should be in there, or even just wanna say hello, you can send me an
email at: [email protected]

And now, to get on with the guide. =D

Title: Sonic Riders: Zero Gravity
Platform: Wii and PS2
Number of Players: 1-4 Simultaneous

Sonic Riders: Zero Gravity is the second game in the Sonic Riders series
of games. The first game was described as a new type of racing game, where
the charaters rode on boards known as Extreme Gear, doing tricks and riding
their opponents turbulence in order to keep their air supply up and win the
race. In Zero Gravity, they have introduced the new 'Gravity Control' system,
replacing alot of the old features from the first game.

Using Gravity Control, players can nail sharp turns and ride along walls,
aswell as a few other things in order to come out on top. The way the gears
work has changed as well, now the gears have 'Gear Parts', which can be used
to upgrade a characters abilities and skills. But more on that later.

All in all, a great game. If you were a fan of the first game, I suggest you
go out and pick up a copy, or at least hire it form the local video shop or
something. Heck, do that even if you didn't play the first one. =P

       5. Characters
+------------------------------+

Finally onto what the guide is about. In this section I'll give a rundown
of all the characters in the game, and they'll all look a little like this:

--------------------------------
         Character Name
--------------------------------

[There'll be a character introduction here]

Type: What type the character is.

Stats:
Dash: The character's rate of acceleration.
	Limit: The character's top speed.
Power: How well the character can handle rough terrain.
Curve: How well the character can turn.

Default Gear: The name of the character's default gear.

How to Unlock: For characters that need to be unlocked, this section will
                tell you how.

Attack: Details of the attack the character does upon getting the 'Attack'
         power-up.

GCD [Gravity Control Device]: Not really all that important, but just in case
you were wondering where the character's GCD is,
this'll tell you. (I know I did. xD)

Author's Notes: This is where I'll state what I feel is note worthy,
as well as my thoughts and opinions on the character.

--------------------------------

Just a few more points. Even though I state the characters type, unlike
the last game, the characters no longer have type specific albilities. What
they can do is now based on the type of gear they are riding. The game doesn't
even tell you what type they are, but you can figure that out by taking a look
at their stats, and the gear parts on their default gear. And stat-wise, the
maximum value any one stat can have is six.

Now, let's begin. =D

================================

--------------------------------
      Sonic the Hedgehog
--------------------------------

It's everyone's favorite blue hedgehog, Sonic! A lover of freedom with zero
tolerance for evildoers, this hedgehog is always doing his best to help those
in need. Once again, Sonic jumps back on board as he races to try and
solve the mystery behind the MeteorTech Robot Rampage along with his good
friends, Tails and Knuckles.

Type: Speed

Stats:
	Dash: ****
	Limit: *****
	Power: ****
	Curve: ****

Default Gear: Blue Star

Attack: Sonic curls himself up into a ball and spin dashes towards his foes,
trapping them in a tornado briefly.

GCD: On his right wrist is one of the Arks of the Cosmos, which Tails picked
up after it crashed into the ground and woke him up in his sleep.

Author's notes: Ah, good ol' Sonic. His stats are fairly even, making him
a good all round charater, along with every other speed type
as all speed types in this game were created equal.

--------------------------------
      Miles "Tails" Prower
--------------------------------

A boy fox who gets his nickname from his twin tails, Miles "Tails" Prower
is always doing his best to help Sonic foil Eggman's schemes. He loves
tinkering with machines, often building something to aid Sonic in his
adventures. Although still fairly new to being an Extreme Gear mechanic,
Tails is always working on ways to improve his gear repairing skills.

Type: Flight

Stats:
	Dash: *****
	Limit: ***
	Power: ***
	Curve: *****

Default Gear: Yellow Tail

Attack: Tails pulls out his power cord and swings it around his head as he
flies foward, shocking anyone who gets close enough.

GCD: Tails has a little device on his right hip, which he pulls out whenever
      he uses Gravity Control.

Author's Notes: Tails, along with most of the flight characters, is best
at getting a quick start and making sharp turns, but doesn't
have the best top speed and doesn't work well off-road.
That aside, still a good character, and his gear is pretty
		 cool. =P

--------------------------------
      Knuckles the Echidna
--------------------------------

Knuckles has been a long time friend and rival of Sonic's ever since they
first met back on Angel Island. He seems to spend most of his time either
guarding the Master Emerald, or tracking down the pieces of it. If he's not
doing either of those things, he's hanging out with Sonic and Tails or treasure
hunting. Said to be as strong as Sonic is fast, he brings his aggresive style
of riding to the race.

Type: Power

Stats:
	Dash: ***
	Limit: ****
	Power: *****
	Curve: ***

Default Gear: Red Rock

Attack: Knuckles starts to run with both fists behind him, punching his foes
and stunning them for a short time.

GCD: Knuckles has a band on his left ankle that allows him to use Gravity
      Control.

Author's Notes: Knuckles, about as agressive as ever. In Zero Gravity however,
he seems to be bored at the start and finish of the story mode
as if he was being dragged along against his will. Anyway, as
with all power characters he does well off-road, as well as
having fairly average stats in everything else.

--------------------------------
           Amy Rose
--------------------------------

Amy is a somewhat ditzy pink hedgehog and is Sonic's self-professed girlfriend.
She follows the blue blur where ever he goes, constantly expressing her love
for him and generally being a bit of a pain for Sonic. She likes having things
go her way, and often uses her Piko Piko Hammer to make sure it does. Having
run into Sonic and the gang after running away from the robots, she once again
joins Sonic on his latest adventure.

Type: Speed

Stats:
	Dash: ****
	Limit: *****
	Power: ****
	Curve: ****

Default Gear: Pink Rose

Attack: Amy pulls out her Piko Piko Hammer and smashes any foes in her way,
causing them to become stunned temporarily.

GCD: Amy wears the Ark of the Cosmos she found around her neck like a necklace.

Author's Notes: I don't really use Amy all that much, mainly due to the vast
number of cooler speed type characters that are available.
Still, she's just as good as any other speed character.
And her Sonic Riders look is just so awesome. =P

--------------------------------
          Jet the Hawk
--------------------------------

Jet is the leader of the group of theives known as the Babylon Rogues.
Many people know him as the "Legendary Wind Master" due to his impressive
Extreme Gear riding skills. Jet and the Babylon Rogues have set their
sights on another treasure, one that has caused his and Sonic's paths to
cross once again. Having lost to Sonic the last time they met, he's
more determined than ever to beat him and prove once and for all that
he's the fastest thing in the universe!

Type: Speed

Stats:
	Dash: ****
	Limit: *****
	Power: ****
	Curve: ****

Default Gear: Type-J

Attack: Jet whips out one of his green feather fans and runs at full speed,
attacking his rivals and trapping them in a tornado.

GCD: Like Sonic, Jet has an Ark of the Cosmos on his left wrist. Jet and the
Babylon Rogues took it from the shrine at the Gigan Rocks.

Author's Notes: Jet, along with the Babylon Rogues, have been some of the
first truly awesome new characters I've seen. At least since
Shadow was introduced. They've had a big thumbs up from me
since the first Sonic Riders. Jet is pretty much the same
as the other speed characters, and his already awesome board
has been made even more awesome for this game. =3

--------------------------------
      Storm the Albatross
--------------------------------

Storm is the muscle of the Babylon Rogues and serves as Jet's right-hand man.
Fairly clumsy and simple minded, Storm has no problems with just following
Jet's orders and getting the job done. He also has a habit of stuttering
whenever he's excited or flustered, but seems to have it under control.
After bumping into Knuckles, along with Sonic and the gang, an old rivalry
is about to be sparked anew with Storm eager to settle the score.

Type: Power

Stats:
	Dash: **
	Limit: *****
	Power: *****
	Curve: ***

Default Gear: Type-S

Attack: Storm starts running at top speed, slapping his foes and stunning
	 them as he goes.

GCD: Storm wears the Ark of the Cosmos he took from the Robot Leader like
a ring on his left index finger. I guess his arms are just too big. =P

Author's Notes: Unlike the speed and flight type characters, power type
characters weren't all created equal. Storm has a top
speed to match that of the speed types, as well as a high
power stat to match the other power types. However, this
comes at the cost of acceleration and turning ability,
making Storm somewhat tricky to control if you're new
to the game. As a character however, Storm is awesome.
I've liked him even before I even knew what his name
		 was. I love Storm. <3

--------------------------------
        Wave the Swallow
--------------------------------

Wave acts as the mechanic for the Babylon Rogues, as well as being the level
headed voice of reason for the group. Although she is good with most mechanical
things, Extreme Gear is her specialty, beating Tails and Eggman in both
knowledge and experience in that field. Once again on the trail of treasure
with the Babylon Rogues, Wave makes sure that Jet and Storm stay on task.

Type: Flight

Stats:
	Dash: *****
	Limit: ***
	Power: ***
	Curve: *****

Default Gear: Type-W

Attack: Wave pulls out a giant spanner and attacks her rivals with it, shocking
	 them in the process.

GCD: Wave has a device similar to the one Tails has on her left hip.

Author's Notes: Wave is a character I don't use all that much, but is in
the group of characters I'd use more often if I wasn't
using the ones I normally pick. Not much different from
the other flight characters, but she does have a really
		 cool looking board/air ride. =P

--------------------------------
          Dr. Eggman
--------------------------------

A self proclaimed evil genius with an IQ of 300, Dr. Eggman has been Sonic's
arch-nemesis since way back when. A man with a passion for robotics, Eggman
has spent many years trying to pull off his plans to build his own Eggman-land,
but the blue blur and company stop him in his tracks every time. Eggman is the
founder and owner of MeteorTech but he claims he played no part in the robots
going berserk. Can Eggman really be trusted, or is this just his latest scheme?

Type: Power

Stats:
	Dash: **
	Limit: *****
	Power: *****
	Curve: ***

Default Gear: E-Rider

How to Unlock: Dr. Eggman is unlocked after completing the Babylon Story.

Attack: Eggman pulls out a large party popper and pops it right next to his
foes, obstructing their view with the confetti.

GCD: Eggman has the Master Unit of the Arks of the Cosmos from the MeteoTech
main computer on his right wrist.

Author's Notes: Like Storm, Eggman is fast and works well off road, but is a
little tricky to control. Also, Eggman is restricted to using
the bike and wheel type gears. Oh, and he's half Deem Bristow
and half Mike Pollock voice wise. That's a little lazy SEGA.
Still one of my favorite characters though. I am the Eggman,
that's what I am. I am the Eggman, I've got the master plan...

--------------------------------
        Cream the Rabbit
--------------------------------

Cream is a cheerful little rabbit, who goes everywhere with her Chao, Cheese.
Don't be fooled by her cute appearance though, she's just as capable of winning
the race as any adult is and is able to use her large ears to fly. Watch out
for this little girl, she might just take the lead when you least expect it.

Type: Flight

Stats:
	Dash: *****
	Limit: ***
	Power: ***
	Curve: *****

Default Gear: Smile

How to Unlock: Cream is unlocked after completing the Heroes Story.

Attack: Cream begins flapping her ears and starts flying as Cheese circles
around her, attacking other riders and blocking their view.

GCD: Cream wears her device around her neck like a necklace.

Author's Notes: Cream is another character I hardly use. I think I used her
once when I unlocked her, and then once every now and again
if I feel like a bit of a change. But whether you use her
		 is up to you.

--------------------------------
         Rouge the Bat
--------------------------------

A talented thief with a love of jewels, Rouge the Bat enters the race once
again. Generally working as an agent for the government, she spends the rest
of her time hunting for jewels, Knuckles' Master Emerald in particular. Try
not be too distracted by her beauty otherwise she'll take off with not jewels,
but the race.

Type: Flight

Stats:
	Dash: *****
	Limit: ***
	Power: ***
	Curve: *****

Default Gear: Temptation

How to Unlock: Rouge is unlocked after completing the Heroes Story.

Attack: Rouge starts running as a Batcracker circles her, blowing up in the
face of any rival who gets close enough.

GCD: Rouge has a device on her left hip that allows her to use Gravity Control.

Author's Notes: Rouge is one of the characters I use occasionally, but not
as much as everyone else. But I love the look they gave her
for Sonic Riders, instant win. =P

--------------------------------
      Shadow the Hedgehog
--------------------------------

Created by Dr. Eggman's grandfather, Dr. Gerald Robotnik, Shadow is a black
hedgehog with a slight resemblance to Sonic. Able to use the power of emeralds
to use Chaos Control, Shadow can warp himself through time and space in the
blink of an eye. What Shadow does in his spare time is unknown, but apparently
he has the time to enter a race or two. With equal skills to Sonic as well as
Chaos Control, you can bet Shadow will be no pushover.

Type: Speed

Stats:
	Dash: ****
	Limit: *****
	Power: ****
	Curve: ****

Default Gear: Black Shot

How to Unlock: Shadow is unlocked after completing the Heroes Story.

Attack: Shadow holds up an orb of condensed Chaos Control energy, attacking
his foes with it and causing them to lose control of their gear.

GCD: Shadow has a band on his right ankle that allows him to use Gravity
      Control.

Author's Notes: Probably my favorite character to play as in Zero Gravity,
Shadow is the same as other speed characters. I'm glad to
see that Shadow has his own board now, as well as the fact
that his quills move as he rides. A detail I thought was
missing in the first game. Also worthy of noting, is that
he has the best saying for when he does a Gravity Dive.
"Here we go... UNLEASH GRAVITY!" =3

--------------------------------
      Silver the Hedgehog
--------------------------------

Silver came from a somewhat bleak future, coming back to the past in order
to try and save it. Eventually with a little help from Sonic and friends he
did, returning to what would become a much better future. Silver is back once
again to compete in the race, bringing his strange telekinetic powers with him.

Type: Flight

Stats:
	Dash: *****
	Limit: ***
	Power: ***
	Curve: *****

Default Gear: Psychic Wave

How to Unlock: Silver is unlocked after completing the Babylon Story.

Attack: Silver starts running and extends his arms out concentrating
telekinetic power on his hands and attacking his foes with it,
	 making them lose control.

GCD: Silver has a small device on his left hip that lets him use Gravity
      Control.

Author's Notes: Silver is one of those characters I disliked to begin
with, but grew on me in the end. If I'm gonna use a
flight character, Silver tends to be the one I use the
most. I mean he is pretty cool for someone who has a
fairly un-imaginative name. And he has one of the coolest
default boards in the game. =P

--------------------------------
         Blaze the Cat
--------------------------------

A princess from another dimension, Blaze has the ablility to control flames.
Calm and cool headed, this cat is quick on her claws and shouldn't be taken
lightly. For if you do you're likely to be left charred at the starting line.

Type: Speed

Stats:
	Dash: ****
	Limit: *****
	Power: ****
	Curve: ****

Default Gear: Flame Lance

How to Unlock: Blaze is unlocked after completing the Babylon Story.

Attack: Blaze runs foward with her arms out, holding a flame in each hand as
	 she torches her opponents.

GCD: Blaze wears her device around her neck like a necklace.

Author's Notes: Blaze is one of the new characters I find myself using quite
a bit, and why not? She's one cool cat. Or would that be hot?
Y'know, with the whole flame thing and all. Whatever. xP

--------------------------------
             NiGHTS
--------------------------------

NiGHTS is a Nightmaren from the dream world of Nightopia. Unlike most
Nightmarens, NiGHTS enjoys freedom and playing around without a care
in the world. Coming back once again as a SEGA guest character, NiGHTS
is as mischievous as ever.

Type: Flight

Stats:
	Dash: *****
	Limit: ***
	Power: ***
	Curve: *****

Default Gear: Night Sky

How to Unlock: NiGHTS is unlocked after completing all the missions in
	 	Story Mode.

Attack: NiGHTS begins to fly leaving a trail of stars behind it, wrapping up
other riders and obstructing their view.

GCD: NiGHTS wears it's gravity device around it's neck like a necklace.

Author's Notes: NiGHTS is the only one of the original three guest characters
from Sonic Riders who is back in Zero Gravity. Unlike the first
game where all the guests had the stats of a speed character
but still had different abilities, the guests now have the same
stats of whatever their type is. NiGHTS is probably the other
flight character I use when I'm not using Silver.

--------------------------------
             Amigo
--------------------------------

The second of the SEGA guest characters, Amigo rides along to the beat of
the Samba. This monkey speaks only in music, shaking around his maracas to
communicate. Be careful though, for a small guy he moves fast!

Type: Speed

Stats:
	Dash: ****
	Limit: *****
	Power: ****
	Curve: ****

Default Gear: Rhythm Machine

How to Unlock: Amigo is unlocked after completing all the missions in
	 	Story Mode.

Attack: Amigo starts running and shaking his maracas quickly, attacking his
foes with them and stunning them temporarily.

GCD: Amigo's right maraca has a band on it that allows him to use
      Gravity Control.

Author's Notes: Amigo has replaced Ulala from the first Sonic Riders, which in
my opinion is a good thing. I never really did like Ulala in
the first game. Still doesn't mean I use Amigo much more than
		 I used Ulala anyway. =P

--------------------------------
         Billy Hatcher
--------------------------------

The last of the SEGA guest characters, Billy Hatcher takes a break from
rolling around his giant egg and joins the race. For someone who appears
to be a young kid, he sure can pack a punch. I guess rolling giant eggs
around is a good way to build up arm strength.

Type: Power

Stats:
	Dash: ***
	Limit: ****
	Power: *****
	Curve: ***

Default Gear: Power Egg

How to Unlock: Billy is unlocked after completing all the missions in
	 	Story mode.

Attack: Billy starts rolling a giant egg, bowling over and stunning any
	 rivals in his way.

GCD: Billy has a band on his right wrist that allows him to use
      Gravity Control.

Author's Notes: It's funny that Billy Hatcher is in this game, considering I
said he should have been in the last game instead of Ulala.
However, he's replaced AiAi instead, but since I didn't really
use him that much, it's not a big deal for me. On the other
hand, I use Billy alot more than I used AiAi. I just like him
as a character, and that's from someone who hasn't even played
the game he came from. =P

--------------------------------
             SCR-HD
--------------------------------

SCR-HD is one of the many security robots that are built by MeteorTech. SCR-HD
was the first of the robots to go berserk and acts as the robot leader, giving
orders to the others as it attempts to gather all of the Arks of the Cosmos.
But for what reason could they have for collecting them?

Type: Flight

Stats:
	Dash: ****
	Limit: ***
	Power: *****
	Curve: ****

How to Unlock: SCR-HD is unlocked after you play with SCR-GP once.

Attack: SCR-HD uncurls itself and flies foward attacking it's foes along the
	 way, shocking them.

GCD: SCR-HD's Gravity Control Device is internal, and as such cannot be seen.

Author's Notes: Notice how I didn't add a default gear? That's because SCR-HD
doesn't use any gear. Instead it just curls up into a wheel and
rolls it's way to victory. I don't tend to use either of the
robots as they both seem to suck terribly. Also, I'm not 100%
sure that thats the way you unlock SCR-HD, but thats the way
it happened for me. I'll try to confrim this in the next update.

--------------------------------
             SCR-GP
--------------------------------

Whereas SCR-HD is the leader of the robots, SCR-GP seems to make up the rest of
the robots. Sonic and his friends are often evading groups of SCR-GP, who are
all determined to get the Arks of the Cosmos. You can bet you'll have a hard
time getting these robots off your tail.

Type: Power

Stats:
	Dash: ***
	Limit: ***
	Power: ******
	Curve: ***

How to Unlock: SCR-GP is unlocked after completing the Babylon Story.

Attack: SCR-GP uncurls itself and flies foward, attacking the riders in it's
	 path and shocking them.

GCD: SCR-GP's Gravity Control Device is internal, and as such cannot be seen.

Author's Notes: Just like SCR-HD, I don't use SCR-GP that much, due to somewhat
poor stats. Although, it should be noted that SCR-GP is the only
character in the game to have a six in a stat. He's also able to
use the slide turn like the wheel type gears can. Still doesn't
make him that good of a character though.

--------------------------------
          Super Sonic
--------------------------------

When Sonic utilizes the Chaos Emeralds, he can transform into a form that is
known as Super Sonic. While in this form, Sonic's fur turns gold, his quills
stand up on end and he gains amazing power and speed. As Super Sonic, there's
nothing he can't do.

Type: Super!

Stats:
	Dash: ****
	Limit: *****
	Power: ****
	Curve: ****

Attack: Super Sonic gets off his board and starts dashing fowards, knocking his
rivals out of his path and briefly trapping them in a tornado.

GCD: The same place as Sonic has it, duh. =P

Author's Notes: Yeah, there's nothing Super Sonic can't do, except race, or use
Gravity Control. As you might've guessed if you've played the
first Sonic Riders, Super Sonic runs on rings instead of GP.
He starts the race on foot and won't get onto his board until you
pick up at least one ring, not that he's much better on board. At
about 60 rings or more, Super Sonic goes into a boost mode that
looks like his attack, but minus the attacking and ability to use
springboards. In this state Super Sonic goes quite a bit faster
than normal, but at double the ring consumption. And don't even
think about using Gravity Control, a single use is pretty much
guaranteed to suck your ring supply dry, then it's back on foot
for you. Anyway, I'm only assuming that his stats are the same
as they are as normal Sonic. And I suppose his type would still
be speed, but since he can't use any skills at all, I may as
well put down super. I think it's fair to say that he's gotten
worse since the first game. To select Super Sonic, select Sonic
and have him use the Chaos Emerald gear. But just remember,

        Extreme Gear
+------------------------------+

Extreme Gear is the name for everything that the characters use in this game to
race, be it a board or something else. This section of the guide will tell you
a bit about the types of gear available, as well as a complete gear listing and
some tips on how to complete your collection with ease.

================================

--------------------------------
       Extreme Gear Types
--------------------------------

Board:
Boards are made for general riding, and have no outstanding features.
Boards can have the ability to grind along rails if they have the right
	gear parts.

Skates:
Like Boards, Skates can grind along rails, although they do not require
gear parts to do it. Apparently they can also slide at high speeds.

Air Ride:
Air Rides have the ability to launch off catapaults and glide through
	the air.

Yacht:
Yachts have the same ability to launch off catapaults as Air Rides do,
as well as the ability to ride opponent's slip streams. Meaning if you
ride behind someone, you'll go a little faster.

Bike:
Bikes can smash their way through obstacles without slowing down, often
giving the rider access to hidden shortcuts.

Wheel:
Wheels can smash through objects just like Bikes can, as well as having
their own slide turn ability. If you hold down the jump button and turn,
the gear will slide turn and boost off in the new direction.

Author's Notes: Since Eggman is still restriced to using bike-type gears,
E-Rider is the only default gear in the game that's not a

Author's Notes: Psychic Wave is one of the coolest looking default gears I've
seen in Zero Gravity. And it becomes a fairly cool Air Ride too.
