INTRODUCTION

Alright, time to begin. This is the first time I have actually FELT
like writing out a guide for a game as Im usually too lazy to even
bother trying.

Pokmon Rumble is a happy cross of their one-million plus Pokmon
collecting (A Pokmon Standard, apparently only its much less
expensive this time around) and the typical hack and slash, beat
them up formula seen in most real time action games.

Picture little nauseatingly cute creatures, slaughtering MORE
nauseatingly cute creatures Just without the blood.

Sound fun?

Well, I for one was pleasantly surprised. And this is coming from
a generally RPG, SRPG, and Survival Horror buff.

Okay, moving on!

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
~ THE PURPOSE OF THIS FAQ ~		[PURPFAQ2]
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

This section is actually more of a what this FAQ is NOT. For one,
this is not actually a walkthrough. This game is actually pretty
easy to beat. The A-typical get more powerful moves and get to
higher power level strategies will work just fine in this game.
And you could always get help from friends via multiplayer if you
really need it.

This FAQ is to help people with the things that generally make
things easier when known but arent extremely necessary to know
right off the bat. Need an example?

There are plenty further down.

And Gameplay Info -
(in no particular order) :

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
~ General Game Play ~			[GENGP3A]
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

1)

You have three wonder keys shown in the lower left of the screen.
AKA Three chances to switch Pokmon toys when your current toy is
defeated. A highlighted Key means it is still available. A grayed
out key means it has been used up and cannot be used again in the
current area. If you run out of keys, you are returned to the
terminal (your base).

2)

Even if you use up all three keys (lose), you still keep
all of the money and Pokmon you acquired in that stage before
you lost.

Note: However, leaving the current area via the menu's
"Return to the Terminal" option, will reset everything you've
collected thus far. A warning message will appear to warn you
of this before you go and you can opt out if you chose the
option by accident.

3)

Some enemy attacks can cause negative status effects. You can
lessen the duration of most status effects by simply moving the
directional pad until they disappear.

4)

Each Pokemon has a Type. Example: Water. That type determines
damage strengths and weaknesses. ie: water will generally do more
damage on a ground type Pokmon but might take more damage from
an Electric type Pokmon.

5)

Each Move a Pokemon can learn has a type as well.

6)

That Green Bar under your Pokmon is your HP gauge.
(Health Points) Yes, that little green bar will dominate your life.
When it is completely green, you are at full health. When you take
damage, you will see the green go down slowly and then replaced
with red. When the bar becomes completely red, your current toy will
be knocked out.

7)

You can switch to another Pokmon Toy mid battle by Pressing (A),
moving up or down until you find the one you want to switch to, and
then by pressing (2) to accept. Keep in mind that time will not
stop while selecting another toy (in multiplayer) if there are
still more active toys with HP left.

8)

Each Pokmon can have TWO moves that can be used in battle.
Moves can be purchased in the terminal. The higher the Rank you are
in (C-S, S being the highest) the higher the cost will be but at
higher ranks more moves are available. Note that the move you get
is randomly determined.

9)

When a move is purchased you can either overwrite an existing
move or cancel. If you only have one attack, you can choose to add
the move you got to the second slot. Canceling will not refund your
money but can save you from having to overwrite powerful moves with
moves you dont want.

10)

Each offensive move has a star rating next to its name. The higher
the number of stars, the more powerful the move is.

11)

Each Pokmon has an attack and defense rating near its picture
in (A) button list of Pokmon. The more dots, the higher that
stat is.

12)

Each Pokmon has a Power Level, a large number at the top near
its picture in the (A) button menu. The higher the number, the
more powerful that Pokmons attacks will be.

13)

At the end of each stage, there is ALWAYS a boss along with
four normal enemies of the same type. For example, Normal Mode-
Silent Forest Rank C will have an IVYSAUR as a boss and 4
Bulbasaurs. Keep in mind the 4 minions accompanying the boss will
continuously respawn for the remainder of the battle.

14)

Enemies appear as red dots on the map.
Money drops do not appear on the map!

15)

Higher Ranks generally have longer areas. For example: in
Rank B most areas have six stages including the boss stage. Five
stages of regular enemy groups, one boss stage. Instead of
Rank Cs lower 5 stages per area.

16)

Befriended Pokmon can be released in the terminal. When
released the Pokmon will give you money equal to half of their
current power level. Example: If you release a Rattata that is
level 100, you will get 50p. If you release 5 of the same type of
Pokmon you will usually get a recruitment ticket of an evolved
from which will let you befriend the Pokemon listed when you use
the ticket. (Only 1 ticket can be held at a time!) More on that
in the Pokemon Tickets section.

17)

Twelve Pokmon Toys can be saved to your Wii Remote. Saved Wii
Remote Pokmon will always be available to that Wii Remote. So,
you can go to a friends house with the Pokemon you want to use,
for example)

18)

Saved Wii Remote Pokmon cannot learn moves and cannot be released.
You must remove the Saved Wii Remote status before you can learn
more moves.

19)

The Saved Wii Remote status cannot be removed if you do not
have a high enough Wonder Key rank. (Only happens when moving high
power level toys from a high ranking file to another file with a
lower rank.) In other words, if there is a bright blue exclamation
point near the Pokmons picture, then the Wii Remote status cannot
be removed and thus they cannot learn any moves until you increase
your key wonder rank.

20)

By pressing the (-) button while in the (A) button menu, you
can favorite a Pokmon. (A little Heart will appear next to their
name.) Favorite Pokmon cannot be released until you remove them
from your favorites. Can help protect you from accidentally
releasing the Pokmon you want to keep. Favorite Pokemon ALWAYS
appear at the top of the (A) button menu list.

21)

You do NOT have to defeat every single enemy in each area stage.
You can just simply go directly to the teleporter if you choose.

22)

Money drops appear differently each with various amounts:

Small Coin - Bronze - 1P

Medium Coin - Silver - 10p

Large Coin - Gold - 100p

Very Large Coin - Gold with Black - 1000+

Important Note: Money drops DISSAPEAR AFTER A FEW SECONDS.
So, try to pick them up as soon as they appear!

23)

Be careful!

Pokmon toys in "befriend state" (Pokmon that are still on
the ground after you defeat them and appear as a white dot on
the mini map) DISSAPEAR AFTER A FEW SECONDS just like Money
drops!

Pokmon in left in befriend state for a period of time will
vanish after a while. The time it takes them to dissapear is much
longer than money does, but it WILL OCCUR if they are left on
the map for too long. (20-30 seconds or more)

Also note that Money and "befriend state" Pokmon can also dissapear in
the terminal if left alone for too long.

So, as a general rule, make gathering fallen Pokmon in befriend state
as well as money drops - a priority before doing anything else.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
~ GAMEPLAY MODES ~		[GAMEMODE3B]
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

--NORMAL

1) 1st Gen Pokmon available, #'s 1-151 in the six different
stages.

2) Has four Ranks of increasing difficulty, starting at
Rank C (lowest) and ending at Rank S (highest).

3) Six stages - Each Rank has different Pokmon
available + a different Boss.

--ADVANCED MODE

1) 4TH Gen Pokmon available, #'s 387-492 in six different stages.
Note: Some of the 1st Gen Pokmon are mixed in as well.

2) Also has four ranks of increasing difficulty, starting at
Rank C (lowest) and ending at Rank S (highest).

3) Same Six stages - Each Rank has different Pokmon available + a
different Boss.

--EX MODE

1) ONLY ONE RANK - Very powerful Pokmon (1800+)

2) Pokmon no longer have a set location. Areas now contain a
random assortment of Pokmon from both 1st and 4th Gens.

Note: The Pokmon encountered are randomly selected from the
previous mode / ranks of the given area.

Example:

If you enter Silent Forest in EX Mode you may encounter all the
Pokmon previously found in Silent Forest's Normal/Advanced
Ranks C-S. And in the Boss Stage of the area, you will randomly
encounter only one of the previous Silent Forest Mode/Rank bosses
plus that bosses usual four Pokmon minions.

3) Battle Royale - Now have to complete two consecutive rounds per
challenge - cannot heal in between, defeated Pokmon toys are not
revived until you either win or lose.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
~ Befriending ~			[BEFRIEND3C]
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

1)

Befriending is the state in which a Pokmon that you defeated
stays visible on the map after defeat. It appears on the ground in
a heap. Simply walk over the fallen Pokmon to befriend it. This
will add that Pokmon to your (A) button menu list. As soon as you
befriend a Pokmon, you can immediately switch to it.

2)

Occasionally you will see an enemy Pokmon with little sparkles
around it. That means you will have a 100% chance of befriending
that sparkly Pokmon when you defeat it.

3)

Making a Pokmon wobble is the easiest way to befriend it.
Just defeat the Pokmon while it is wobbling and you will befriend
it. A very large, blue star and a sound effect will occur when
you have successfully wobbled it.

Important Note: Negative Status conditions (poison, paralysis,
burn, etc.) WILL CANCEL WOBBLE STATE! Keep that in mind when
trying to befriend Pokmon.

4)

Bosses CAN be befriended. They CAN appear with sparkles, it is just
very rare. Wobbling them IS possible! It is just a lot harder
than wobbling normal enemies.

5)

If you see a Pokmon in befriend state they will appear as a
white dot on the map.

6)

If you see a Pokmon in befriend state (still visible on the
ground after defeat) that has pink sparkles, then it will have an
ability. Pokmon with abilities have their names in pink.

7)

Shiny (Very rare and differently colored Pokmon -
You can see the difference even BEFORE you try to defeat them )
have an 100% of being befriending and always have an ability.
Their name will appear blue when you collect them and on
the (A) button menu list. So, if you see one you WILL befriend
it as long as you defeat it.

8)

Overall the actual befriend rate is ENTIRELY RANDOM.
Just keep at it and try to be patient. You'll get them
eventually.

9)

Critical Hits can help with befriending Pokmon.
You can also look in the official manual to learn more about
this. (Press the Wii Menu button and click on the operation
manual icon. This is mentioned.)

You can increase chances by getting a Pokmon with either a,
Gutsy ability, or Scrappy and using them to defeat the enemy Pokmon.
Note that Gutsy is more effective than Scrappy.
(The Focus Energy (Normal) move can help with this too!)

Attacking enemy Pokmon with an attack type that they are weak
against may also help induce "wobble state" more often.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
~ Battle Royale ~			[BATTLE3D]
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

1)

If you run out of time or use up all three wonder keys you will
lose and be returned to the terminal. Just like the area stages,
there is NO penalty for losing.

2)

In order to enter you need to acquire a Pokmon toy of a
certain power level. The gate will not open until you get a
Pokmon with the required power level.

3)

You cannot switch Pokmon toys UNTIL your current Pokmon has been
defeated. All enemies and actions freeze when you are defeated and
you need to choose your next Pokmon (this occurs even in multi
player.)

4)

When enemy Pokmon are defeated, they drop time additions in the
form of red stopwatches. Each little red stopwatch adds five seconds
to your timer.

5)

Pokemon groups are generally random, but each Battle Royale Rank
has a set boss group that appears, either one by one, or all at
once. Be prepared, as they usually appear amongst the rest of the
enemies and are generally more powerful.

~ Pokmon GAME DIFFERENCES ~		[POKEDIFF4]
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
1)
Type immunities DO NOT EXIST in Pokmon Rumble. Example:
Fighting moves WILL HIT ghost types, which wouldnt have worked
in some of the other Pokmon games.
2)
Only the 1st and 4th GEN Pokmon are included in Pokmon Rumble!
That means #s 1-151, and 387- 492. Arceus is not available.
3)
Its real-time! NOT turn based.
4)
Pokmon do not evolve or level up with Experience Points.
5)
Status effects will vanish after a few seconds, with the more
serious conditions lasting a little longer.
6)
Only Two attacks per Pokmon.
7)
YOU ARE the Pokmon.
You control their movements and actions.
ie. It's not a trainer giving you orders like in the turn
based Pokmon games.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
~ Pokmon Move List ~        [POKEMOVE5A]
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
IMPORTANT NOTE: This section is still in progress!
The moves listed here ARE NOT THE ONLY MOVES!
I am still working on it. More Will be added to in future
updates!
The Key:
Name: The name of the move.
Class: What the move is used for. If I put:
Offensive - Attack oriented move. Has a Power rating.
Support - Not used to attack. Used to increase you stats or heal.
Does not usually have a power rating.
Status - Used to inflict a negative  status. Does not usually
have a power rating.
Power: How powerful the move is. Shown with stars, 1-5.
5 being the strongest. Example - 5 stars
Found: The rank training Unit that it is easiest to find the
move in.
Notes: If the move has additional effects than they will be listed
here. I will also mention my opinion on the move's usefulness.
I will also try to mention the area of effect that the move has.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
~ General Move Info ~       [MOVESA0]
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
1)
If the Move type matches the innate type of the Pokmon, the stars
that indicate the power rating will be highlighted in yellow.
2)
Different rank training units in the various modes, offer various
moves at random. Some moves are generally easier to get from
certain rank/mode training units. Keep in mind: the price per move
goes up as the ranks and mode difficulty go up. Rank S will always
be more expensive than the Rank C, but at the benefit of more move
possibilities.
3)
Each move, just like in the later Pokmon game versions, has
a type associated with it.
Example: A Chansey (Normal type) can also learn moves that are
not normal type.
ie
I got a Chansey that can use Earthquake (Ground).
Sure, my Chansey can use a ground move, but the damage output
may be less than, say, a Pokmon that has ground as its innate type
So, a Diglett (Ground type) with Earthquake, will probably do more
damage then my Chansey (Normal type), that happens to have a Ground
move, can.
4)
The Power Level (the large number near the Pokmon's name), makes
a difference! The higher the number, the more damage your offensive
moves will do.
5)
Each Pokmon already has a set list of moves they can learn.
So, for Example:
Trying to teach a Chansey the Bullet Seed move, would not
work because Chansey does not have that particular move in its
set move list. ie. putting 200 P in the Normal Mode - Rank C
Training unit would never result in Bullet Seed because Chansey
cannot learn it to begin with.
6)
The Pokmon's Innate attack rating DOES MAKES A DIFFERENCE!
The more attack dots the Pokmon has (listed near its picture
and power level in the (A) button menu) the more damaging the
offensive moves will be.
Example:
A level 2000 Bulbasaur using a 5 star move will do less damage
than a level 2000 Venosaur with the same 5 star move because
a Venosaur has a higher innate attack.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
~ POKEMON TICKETS ~		[POKETICKET8]
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
1)
When you release certain combinations of Pokmon at the same
time, you will earn a free recruitment ticket. When you pick it
up afterwards (it appears on the ground in front of the release
machine) you can then bring it to the recruitment service and
select the ticket to get the corresponding Pokmon toy. Example:
A Rattata ticket would net a Rattata when you use the ticket.
2)
Five of the same Pokmon usually net an evolved form (of the
five Pokmon released) ticket. For example: 5 X Rattata = 1
Raticate ticket
Note: When you release 5 of a Pokmon that can have multiple
evolutions, the resulting ticket is a loop of the highest
evolution to the lowest evolution.
So for Example:
(5X) Bulbasaur = 1 Ivysaur Ticket
(5X) Ivysaur   = 1 Venusaur Ticket
(5X) venusaur  = 1 Bulbasaur Ticket
1 --> 2 --> 3 --> 1.
3)
You can only have ONE TICKET AT A TIME! So DON'T release
5 Rattatas and 5 Metapods and expect to get 2 tickets. Release
five at once, get a ticket, use the ticket,
and then rinse and repeat.
4)
Favorite (heart icon) Pokmon cannot be released.
Undo the favorite status (-) if you want to release them.
--In no particular order--
1) Brady Games Pokdex and Guides
They may be known for errors and mistakes in their guides, but
they still get the job done regardless. It helped a great deal
with the few Pokmon names that took me a while to recall. I like
making absolutely sure they are the right ones before I write
their name down. I like the pictures they included as well.
I respect the amount of effort they put into their guides. I also
respect their ability to be able to work to that extent even when
under such demanding time restraints. I wish I could be working
for them. Keep it up guys.
2) Wikipedia
I used it as a Pokmon name spelling reference. Yeah, I still
remember what they are called. But that doesnt help me spell
them correctly. Yeah remembering what they are and remembering
how they are spelled are two VERY DIFFERENT things.  (Its also
REALLY sad that I STILL remember all of their names so easily, and
yet I cant remember simple life facts sometimes) Hmm...
3) Serebii.net -  http://www.serebii.net
As always, an EXCELLENT Pokmon reference! Couldnt remember
a lot of the dual types. This site helped fill in the blanks!
Also helped me remember what Pokmon appear where. I couldnt
remember a lot of them. This awesome site saved me from having
to go back and forth constantly saved my neck a lot of
discomfort! Also helped with names / locations/ and abilities
as well as moves. Thank you!
- Also helped with pretty much EVERYTHING else! Such an awesome
Pokmon related site. Keep it up and thanks a bunch!
4) GameFAQS/ GameSpot -  http://www.gamefaqs.com
