I put the controls down here as reference if you ever need them. There is also some terminology. Start a "Court Record [3 in the menu]", which is a save file, not a court case. Episodes are unlocked in order of completion. You can replay Episodes when they are done by scrolling through the episode menu. CONTROLS: on the Wiimote: [There will be reminders on screen most of the time] D-Pad = Scroll through options, scroll through evidence, etc. In this case, "Down" is the direction pointing downward toward the A Button, as the Wiimote is held straight at the screen, not held on the side. During investigations, it is to move the cursor to examine objects. A Button = To see details on evidence, examine, selecting choices, scroll through dialogue, etc. B Button = Exit what you selected (in terms of evidence, record, etc. not dialogue) - Button = Press a statement during a cross-examination; while in court record during cross-examination, press to Present evidence at a contradiction. During investigations, - is used for panning left/right. + Button = Present evidence during a cross-examination; also used for accessing the Court Record, pushing again for profiles while in court record 1 Button = Hide the court record while the court record is open 2 Button = Access the menu, with options, saving, and returning to title screen. MOTION CONTROLS: Controls for different motions WAVING THE WIIMOTE: Press a statement. You have to wave frantically. POINT WIIMOTE: Point like you're yelling "OBJECTION" and it will do so when highlighting evidence. You have to start high and point straight quickly. OTHER: Don't get startled by the yelling from your Wiimote! SAVING = The Wii version features three save files. Each one listed as a "Court Record." You can access the menu to save by pushing 2 on the Wiimote at anytime you need to save. You can also change options and return to the title screen if you wish. You will also be prompted to save between chapters, and during chapter intermissions. [Whenever I note "TO BE CONTINUED", it is usually a save point.] Some in-game terminology: COURT = Where the trial takes place. DEFENDANT = Who you are protecting. DEFENSE ATTORNEY = You, Phoenix Wright. PROSECUTION = Who you are "Against", prosecuting the Defendant. INVESTIGATION = Outside of the courtroom, gathering evidence to be used in the coming trials. COURT RECORD = Where the evidence will be, everything to allow you to "progress." This can be accessed by pushing the + button on the Wiimote. CROSS-EXAMINATION = When you have a chance to press what the Witness says in court, and find contradictions. You are allowed to review what the witness says and "Press" their statements to get more detail. CONTRADICTION = When the evidence does not match what a witness says in their testimony. Also, Episode V (the one you buy separately) is not released yet. As such, don't worry about buying it. It is stated to be released on May 24th, check back and this guide will be updated on the same day! I promise! Remember: This walkthrough is just to progress through the game. To get the most out of the story, press every statement! Present items to everyone! Examine more than what I just tell you to do! There is much more than this guide, these are just the "correct" answers. ======================================================================= READING THIS GUIDE [RTG] ======================================================================= I will be using some terminology which is self-explanatory, but here is a list in case you are confused: SELECT = You are presented with a few choices. I will tell you which of these choices to "select." EXAMINE = During Investigation phases, you will have the need to examine various items in a room. Do so by pointing and "Examining" an object. MOVE = During investigation phases, you will have the need to move to other locations to gather evidence. I will detail the location after "Move" accordingly. RECEIVE = When you receieve new evidence for your court record. This usually follows a "Select" or "Talk" option, but can sometimes come on it's own. PRESENT = When presenting evidence to a person, or to the court, from the court record. There may be a need to "Highlight" a certain place in "picture" evidence, which will be marked. PRESS = During a testimony, if you are required to press a statement to add in order to contradict. TALK = During investigations, you will be able to talk to people. I will write "Talk" followed by the specific choice. Simply click that choice. UPDATE = Evidence may update when new information comes along. This will be marked.
