 Hey, richmond1210 here. This is my Time Trial guide on Mario Kart Wii. Here you will find lots of cool information about all the courses, and how to ace them in Time Trial mode. Also information about which characters to use. Okay, we might get started. Good luck!

Just a quick word on Miis. I highly recommend you get a Heavyweight Mii for your racing because Heavyweights have huge top speeds and you can use cool vehicles like Bowser Bike.

Okay, now to business. All the courses, shortcuts and characters to use.

Luigi Circuit Estimated Difficulty to get a good time: 6/10

Luigi Circuit is a beginners course but has a couple of interesting shortcuts. The first one you have to use a Mushroom where the sand is, drive up the ramp and execute a trick. The second one and more effective one near the dash panels is a sand area full of pipes. You have to turn to the right without hitting a single one of them.
Recommended Characters: Funky Kong and Torpedo

Moo Moo Meadows Estimated Difficulty to get a good time: 5/10

Moo Moo Meadows is a small but annoying course. Stacks of Moo Moos and Monty Moles to slow you down. The shortcut here is you use a Mushroom straight through the grass near the fence.
Recommended Characters: Dry Bowser and Bowser Bike

Mushroom Gorge Estimated Difficulty to get a good time: 5/10

Mushroom Gorge is the fun course where you bounce on mushrooms doing tricks. A lot of fun, but a big risk too with the bottomless drops everywhere. Near the end cut the grass out with a Mushroom. Just watch out for the Goomba and the bottomless drop.
Recommended Characters: Bowser Jr. and Mach Bike.

Toad�s Factory Estimated Difficulty to get a good time: 6/10

With moving belts, crushers and mud, this course can be difficult for some. But using a quick, good turning kart or bike is a good move here. Using the Mushroom through the mud is the best plan here.
Recommended Characters: Funky Kong and Bowser Bike

Mario Circuit Estimated Difficulty to get a good time: 4/10

A very simple course which is a good place for a high speed bike and a lot of wheelies. The shortcut here is you use a Mushroom on the sand, up the ramp and execute a trick.
Recommended Characters: Funky Kong and Torpedo

Coconut Mall Estimated Difficulty to get a good time: 6/10

Coconut Mall is a great course with heaps of escalators. The shortcut here is you have to go to the right after the first escalator then use a Mushroom when you get to the store called Delfino Dream.
Recommended Characters: Rosalina and Bowser Bike

DK�s Snowboard Cross Estimated Difficulty to get a good time: 6/10

DK�s Snowboard Cross is the third course in the Flower Cup and is snow filled. The shortcut is using two Mushrooms through the snowdrifts.
Recommended Characters: Mii and Bowser Bike

Wario�s Gold Mine Estimated Difficulty to get a good time: 8/10

Wario�s Gold Mine is a difficult course where nearly everywhere there is no fencing. The shortcut here is you must dodge all the mine carts, and then go into the secret passage.
Recommended Characters: King Boo and Flame Flyer

Daisy Circuit Estimated Difficulty to get a good time: 4/10

Daisy Circuit is a really simple course but it has a couple of tricky corners. The shortcut here is use a Mushroom at the hidden staircase.
Recommended Characters: Baby Mario and Concerto

Koopa Cape Estimated Difficulty to get a good time: 5/10

Koopa Cape is a really cool course where there are lots of rivers and ramps. You must use a Mushroom through the grass for the shortcut.
Recommended Characters: Rosalina and Bowser Bike

Maple Treeway Estimated Difficulty to get a good time: 7/10

Maple Treeway is another fun course with lots of cannons and leaves. At the start go through the gap in the fence and use a Mushroom. This is the shortcut.
Recommended Characters: Toadette and Concerto

Grumble Volcano Estimated Difficulty to get a good time: 7/10

Grumble Volcano is a very fun course with lots of place to fall. Just before the finish line, there is some mud. Use a Mushroom.
Recommended Characters: Funky Kong and Bowser Bike

Dry Dry Ruins Estimated Difficulty to get a good time: 7/10

Dry Dry Ruins is the first of the gruelling Special Cup races, but not as bad as the others. You can use your Mushroom either through the sand near the upward dash panels or just after this area through the sand to get to the dash panel.
Recommended Characters: Donkey Kong and Bowser Bike

Moonview Highway Estimated Difficulty to get a good time: 8/10

At Moonview Highway, there are cars almost everywhere you look. Make sure you don�t hit any cars and drive over every dash panel in order to get a competitive time.
Recommended Characters: Wario and Bowser Bike

Bowser Castle Estimated Difficulty to get a good time: 8/10

At Bowser Castle, you will have to cope with lava, Thwomps and much more. You may use your Mushroom near the area where Mecha Bowser is to avoid getting hit by his fireballs and losing precious time.
Recommended Characters: Dry Bowser and Bowser Bike

Rainbow Road Estimated Difficulty to get a good time: 9/10

Rainbow Road may be the toughest course due to all the bottomless drops everywhere. To pull off the shortcut, you must do a lot of tricks one after each other and then you can drive over the gaps.
Recommended Characters: Funky Kong and Bowser Bike

Peach Beach Estimated Difficulty to get a good time: 5/10

Peach Beach is not a tough course, where you drive along a beach with Cataquacks trying to ruin your fun. The shortcut is where you use a Mushroom through the water when the tide comes in on the second lap.
Recommended Characters: Funky Kong and Spear

Yoshi Falls Estimated Difficulty to get a good time: 5/10

Yoshi Falls is another simple course but has a few places where you can slip up. The shortcut is at any of the waterfalls, use a Mushroom.
Recommended Characters: Dry Bowser and Flame Flyer

Ghost Valley 2 Estimated Difficulty to get a good time: 5/10

Ghost Valley is a quick course, and you can do it in under a minute if you are quick. The shortcut is after a couple of turns, jump across the gap and do a trick.

Mario Raceway Estimated Difficulty to get a good time: 6/10

Mario Raceway is a course with a load of shortcuts. One of them is to use a Mushroom near the first batch of piranhas and execute a trick, near the ramp, and the second one is to use a Mushroom near the pipe area.
Recommended Characters: Funky Kong and Bowser Bike

Sherbet Land Estimated Difficulty to get a good time: 7/10

Sherbet Land is a difficult course with places to fall off and penguins to deal with. There are no real shortcuts here.

Shy Guy Beach Estimated Difficulty to get a good time: 6/10

Shy Guy Beach has you driving over water and avoiding crabs. Try to drive over water and use a Mushroom.
Recommended Characters: Toadette and Magikruiser

Delfino Square Estimated Difficulty to get a good time: 6/10

Delfino Square is where you drive through the town square but has a cunning shortcut. After the mini bridge, drive over the mud and use a Mushroom.

Waluigi Stadium Estimated Difficulty to get a good time: 7/10

Waluigi Stadium has a load of ramps to do tricks on and obstacles to avoid in the middle. After the second dash panel ramp, turn right and use a Mushroom over the mud.
Recommended Characters: Waluigi and Bowser Bike

Desert Hills Estimated Difficulty to get a good time: 6/10

You race through a desert at Desert Hills (obviously) and avoid several obstacles. You can use two Mushrooms at the pyramid near the start, or use a Mushroom across the sand to boost to the finish.
Recommended Characters: Wario and Bowser Bike

Bowser Castle 3 Estimated Difficulty to get a good time: 7/10

Bowser Castle 3 is a very different course to Bowser Castle but has the same enemies to avoid. Use a Mushroom over any of the mud areas.
Recommended Characters: Toad and Bullet Bike

DK�s Jungle Parkway Estimated Difficulty to get a good time: 6/10

DK�s Jungle Parkway has you driving over bridges, boosting over rivers and going through patches of mud. The shortcut is after the bridge, use a Mushroom through a mud and drift so you don�t hit the wall.
Recommended Characters: Donkey Kong and Bowser Bike

Mario Circuit Estimated Difficulty to get a good time: 5/10

Mario Circuit is similar to the Wii version, but has more piranhas. Use a Mushroom near the Chain Chomp, across the grass.

Mario Circuit 3 Estimated Difficulty to get a good time: 5/10

The third Mario Circuit is a lot different to the previous courses. Use a Mushroom over any of the sand areas.
Recommended Characters: Waluigi and Bowser Bike


Peach Gardens Estimated Difficulty to get a good time: 6/10

Peach Gardens has a lot of bushes to use Mushrooms over. The recommended one is to use a Mushroom through the first bush.
Recommended Characters: Funky Kong and Spear

DK Mountain Estimated Difficulty to get a good time: 6/10

DK Mountain is a place where grass doesn�t hinder your progress, so don�t worry about that. At the start, use a Mushroom across the mud.

Bowser�s Castle Estimated Difficulty to get a good time: 7/10
The third Bowser Castle is not the hardest one, but not the easiest with plenty of places to fall off and obstacles to avoid. The shortcut is to use a Mushroom over the grass near the start.
