The walkthrough will provide more than enough points to get straight to the boss without having to take part in the bloodbath challenge. There are also a lot of general hints, including using the double chainsaw to it's best potential. =============================================================================== What you will need for this guide =============================================================================== To have completed the game at least once so you can use the double chainsaw. If you haven't, you may still find some useful tips but the walkthrough is written assuming you have access to this. =============================================================================== Hints and tips =============================================================================== ? * This challenge is all about maximising your points with minimal contact with the enemies. The less contact, the less chance of getting hit. Any hit whatsoever will cause you to fail the challenge immediatly. One of the small oversights in my opinion by the production team was to not include a 'restart current level' option in the pause screen. Unfortunately if you want to try again you have to quit to main menu. * If you do get hit, my advice is not to restart straight away, at least for your first few attempts. Continue through the level as though the challenge was still on. You will need to know the level really well to succeed (including killing the boss) and this practice will help you in the long run. * The double chainsaw is your best friend for this challenge, learn to use it well. It's most useful attacks are the double spin (A button) and the chainsaw dance (hold B then continually shake the remote.) With the chainsaw dance, Jack will continue to run as long as you keep shaking the remote, or until he runs into an obstacle. You can control the direction of his run with the analog stick. When circling an enemy before using the dance, make sure you move Jack to face the way you want him to run before you start the dance or he will run off at a tangent! * You can use Jack's backflip (shake the nunchuck) to cancel out of the double chainsaw's attacks (except Z then A.) This will stop Jack mid-animation and is especially useful for getting out of trouble. It allows you to effectively just do one spin from the double spin move. Once you have killed your target(s) with the move you are using, it's usually better to cancel than to let the move finish its normal animation. * The chainsaw is highly durable but it does break eventually (after something like 40 kills.) Use it liberally, but when you have the chance, kill an enemy another way to help it last. There is another double chainsaw in a pot after you kill the first biker ninja. * You generally don't want to kill an enemy who has been jammed with lots of lamp-posts with a rose bush or by throwing them over the side. You will not be able to use those lamp-posts again as they will stay in the enemy. Finishing enemies with a jumping chainsaw attack will get you 15,000 and will be enough for this walkthrough except where other finishes are suggested. You can get more points still by punching the enemy until the 'finish' prompt comes up and then pressing B. * When trying to grab an enemy, it is often easiest to lock onto them (hold C.) Wait for them to do a jumping attack, circle around the attack and then grab them when they land. If you are trying to stick things in their head, shake the nunchuck to head-butt them until 'stun' appears above their head, or throw them and then stick the object in while they are on the floor or sliding down a wall. Remember you can't grab an enemy or an object while wielding the double chainsaw so put it away before you go for a grab. * When you grab an enemy who has something jammed in his head, he will never die while you are holding him and his 'bleedout timer' will also be reset when you grab him. Take him over to the next object you want to stick in him if you are worried he will die before you bring it back to him. * This level has multiple groups of ninjas which are hidden and ready to spring into action. Get to know where the 'pressure pads' are in the level that set each group off. You generally don't want to set off another group until you have dealt with the current one. Try to keep the last one in each group alive so you can use him for a combo kill with some lamp-posts. * Be especially wary of the white-masked ninjas. They have an annoying attack where they jump up and throw down 3 projectiles, which then explode after a couple of seconds. Keep well away from these projectiles when they land or you'll instantly lose the challenge! Try and take out these guys early in each group, so you can stick lots of things into one of the normal ninjas instead of having to deal with them. =============================================================================== Walkthrough =============================================================================== This walkthrough assumes you are using the strategies described in the hints and tips section. You will be getting more points than you need to open up the boss fight by the time you get there, so don't worry if you miss some of the chances for points. When I refer to taking out enemies, you should use a careful combination of double spins and chainsaw dances with cancels where needed. With practice this shouldn't be much of a problem, but if anyone needs further help with anything feel free to contact me. ? * Grab the double chainsaw and head through the door, up the stairs and through the next door. A gate will close behind Jack. * Move forward until you set off the first group of 3 ninjas. Backflip to safety, then take out 2 of them. There is a pinwheel on either side of the room, stick them both in the last ninja's head then finish him. * Edge forward more until you set off the next 2 ninjas. Take out one, then stick both pinwheels in the other and finish him. * Serious fun alert! This part is awesome. Put your double chainsaw away, then face the big bell that has been revealed. Now dash (double tap forward) straight towards it, and don't stop until you are right in front of the white-masked ninja who jumps out next to the bell. Then make sure Jack comes to a stop, and grab the ninja. You should instantly have the prompt to bang him into the bell, so do it! Be sure to wave the remote around to get the drop-kick. This will stun all the other ninjas that jumped up in this group. You can now go around them using B finishes for a total massacre before they come around. Leave the last one alive. * Grab the lamp-post near the bell, the one closer to where you came from, and stick it into the survivor. Now grab the other lamp-post near the bell, this may well set off the next group of 2 ninjas but don't worry. You should be able to finish with your survivor before they get to you. Quickly stick this in the survivor's head as well, grab him and drag him to the bell and finish him on it. (You can also go and get the pinwheels and add them to this combo and subsequent ones in this room, however this does eventually cause a pile-up of objects in front of the bell which can get akward.) * Trigger the next 2 ninjas if you haven't already by heading left from the bell. Take out one, then drag the other to the bell, stick him with the 2 lamp-posts and finish him on the bell. * Continue towards the exit of this area past the tree and set off the next bunch of ninjas. Take them all out except one. Stick the lamp-post near the railing through his head, then grab the giant mask from the alcove across the room and jam that on. Then drag him back and stick the previous 2 lamp-posts into him and finish him on the bell. * Grab a lamp-post, and head to where the spear is on your radar through the gap near the area's exit (but don't get the spear). A white-masked ninja will drop down right near you. Jam the lamp-post in him right away, then carry him back to the bell. Stick the remaining lamp-posts in him and the mask, then finish him on the bell. * Head away from the bell, all the way to the jar with the jack-balloon in it (sorry it won't help you with this challenge!) Knock away the blinds there and move forward to trigger the last 2 ninjas in this area. Take out the first, then you can really go to town on the last one. Grab the two strange items on the table to your right and stick them into the survivor. Drag him back over to the pinwheels and add them. Now drag him to the bell, add the 3 lamp-posts and the mask before finishing him on the bell for a huge score. * Grab one of the lamp-posts, and carry it to the exit to get the cut-scene. Jack will drop the lamp-post after it, so pick it up again and take it through to the next area. Head up both flights of steps. * A group of 4 ninjas trigger as you go under the third archway, so drop your lamp-post before you get to it. As soon as you trigger them backflip to safely, let them come to you, then use your chainsaw dance to wipe them all out. Be careful not to run through the exit. Then grab the lamp-post again and take it through the gate which closes behind Jack. * Now for Tengu! Jack will drop the lamp-post, leave it there for now. Go around the room and punch out all the blinds from the outside so you have more room in this fight. Now go back to where you entered the room, and enter the white mat by the corner to your right. If done right, after the cut-scene Tengu won't have appeared yet. * Aim for the opposite corner, and chainsaw dance straight ahead. Tengu will quickly appear as you start to move, when you are close enough hold C to target him, while still shaking the remote to continue the chainsaw dance. After getting hit he will usually disappear, when this happens cancel your dance with a backflip. As you are now locked onto him, Jack will face him when he reappears in the air. Circle around him so he doesn't hit you, and when he lands chainsaw dance at him again. He will disappear again, so cancel the attack and repeat this process until he is dead. Hopefully you won't have to deal with any of his other tricks. If he does manage to get away from you and does his 'you are no match for me' cloning trick, rush him with the chainsaw dance and you will get many hits without him disappearing, hopefully finishing him right off. If not, get away from him and dance again to take out the clones. Once he's dead the door opens to the kitchen. * Grab a lamp-post and proceed into the kitchen. You will notice on your radar the 4 red dots indicating ninjas hanging from the ceiling. Approach the one to your right as you come in, and as soon as he lands jam the lamp-post into him. You can now get the two spatulas on the wall to your right and jam these in too. Now carry him back into Tengu's room, grab all the 4 lamp-posts in here and jam them all in. Carry him into the kitchen again to where he dropped down, and finish him off. * Grab a lamp-post, and move forward to the top-right of the room and jam the lamp-post in as the ninja lands. There is a bucket from the shelves to add. Then drag him to the previous pile of lamp-posts and spatulas and add these before finishing him. Repeat this routine on the other 2 remaining ninjas in the room. Be careful while doing all of this not to let the ninjas wander into the fryer in the middle, or towards the other ninjas you don't want to set off yet. As you finish the last one, make sure you are in one of the corners of the room nearest where you entered the kitchen. * When you finish the last ninja, another 4 will all drop from the ceiling. One will be a white-masked, who will drop down in front of the entrance to the kitchen. Chainsaw dance at him right away to get rid of him. Now take out 2 of the other ninjas, leaving the last one for you to stick all the previous items into. Before you finish him, drag him to the top-right of the room where there is a treasure chest. Break this open and grab the pirate hat inside, throw it near the exit area. Finally finish your victim in that corner. * Now another 4 ninjas will drop down, 2 of which are white-masked. Keep out of their way and 3 of them including the white-masked ones will run towards it if you placed it correctly. Take them all out, leaving the last normal ninja. Stick all the previous objects in him, then drag him back to Tengu's room for the big finish. Ram him on a rose-bush from close range, wave the remote, huge points! * Head to the exit for the cut-scene, go through it, then turn left. Chainsaw dance towards the end of the room, this should take out the biker no problems. Continue to the end, and break the pot. This contains a replacement double chainsaw. Don't get it just yet (unless your previous one is now bust, it shouldn't be if you have followed this guide.) Head up the stairs, turn right, and dance towards the biker as before. Once he's dealt with, go back and swap for the new double chainsaw, then up the stairs again and round to exit the area. * Go up the stairs and through the door into the bloodbath challenge area. If you have got most of the points from the strategies in this walkthrough, you shouldn't need to take any part in the challenge. Instead keep near the right of the area to avoid triggering it and take out the enemies you find. If you still need more points, leave one of them and use the lamp-posts around here to get some more points. The boss should be available by now, so continue to the exit to trigger the cut-scene. * Carefully take out the ninjas guarding the boss switch, then hit it! * Once you come out of the lift and into the boss room, don't kill all the ninjas that appear right away. Dance up and down the room clearing out all the objects that might get in your way during the boss fight. You will need as much room as you can get against Shogun, so try and clear out the whole room before you kill the last ninja and trigger the boss. * Now you just have to beat Shogun! There are many strategies for him, but I will give the simplest considering you can't risk getting hit. Get close enough to lock-on to him, then get away and keep away. Circle around him, use backflips, and avoid getting cornered. It will help if you can lure him into destroying the big blinds at each side that seperate the two parts of the room, since you can't destroy them. When he goes crazy and starts roaring with a big white aura around him, this is your opening. Let him do both of his attacks (keeping out of their range) then make sure Jack is facing him and chainsaw dance right at him. Once you have scored one or two hits, get right away from him again. If you repeat this strategy, you should be able to kill him without having to risk going in for a power struggle or looking for other openings. -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=- This guide was created using http://www.playhaven.com/ See the full guide here: http://www.playhaven.com/guides/wii/madworld/tips-and-walkthrough-for-deathwatc h-challange-take-no-damage-in-the-bistro/AHA0mVj5R2C1Tj9nbl83Gw/
