Links Crossbow Training Walkthrough

Center Hits
With targets, hitting the center will give you triple points. Red targets are worth 10 points, 30 if you hit the center. Gold targets are worth 50 points, 150 if you hit the center.

Target Order
When possible, always shoot the red targets first, then the gold targets. With the multipliers for consecutive hits, saving the gold targets for last will give you more points.

Scarecrows
Some target shooting levels have three parts. In these levels, there will be a scarecrow somewhere in the first part. If you shoot it in the body 8 times and then in the head, not only will you get 1000 points, but it will disappear. Then when you get to the second part, another scarecrow will popup somewhere. In this part, shooting the scarecrow the same way will not cause him to disappear. Instead, you will be brought to an alternate area for the third part. If you fail to kill either of the scarecrows correctly, you will be brought to the normal third part, where there are less points available. This document will explain how to handle the alternate areas since they are the higher point areas. I do not explain any of the lower scoring areas in these stages. In these stages, always go for the scarecrows.

Some target shooting levels, and other levels as well, there are scarecrows just hanging around. You can shoot them if you want, but on some levels, you have the ability to score so many points, that a mere 1000 is nothing to risk messing up a successful level. I will mention where I have found it worth it to shoot them, and where I have found it worth it to skip them.

Signs
Signs are worth either 20 or 25 points. Hardly worth mentioning, but if you are going to hit them, you may as well do it right. Hitting the bottom part of the sign will get you 20 points and destroy the sign. Hitting the top portion of the sign will get you 5 points and break off a piece of the sign. You can then hit it again and get another 20 points, for a total of 25 points.

Consecutive hits
Consecutive hits are where the points are at. On all levels, it is always better to allow a target or object to live or remain intact, then to try to take a wild shot and miss. Eventually you will get good enough so that you will need to shoot everything, and then some, in order to beat your high score. While you are in the improvement stage, let some of those targets go and just make sure you only shoot at what you can hit.

Clear extra stuff at the beginning
At the very beginning of each level, you havent started any consecutive hit streak yet. Now is the time to go crazy and shoot very quickly. It doesnt matter if you hit or miss at this point. There are sometimes lots of things you can shoot for points. Just shoot like it doesnt matter (because it doesnt). Once you start shooting the actual targets or objects in the level, then calm down and make sure you take aim.

Maximum Points
Occasionally I will mention a maximum point value for a level. This will only include the active objects that you need to hit (targets, monsters, etc). It also includes the bonus for completing a level, and any major bonus items, like gold coins, scarecrows, and the 1000 bonus for hitting some minor object (this occurs when the white sparkle comes rushing towards you). Some level have items that are worth different points (like red and gold targets). This also assumes that you are hitting then in the correct order (lower scoring items first, then higher scoring items). You can obviously improve on this maximum by hitting the smaller items, like jars, barrels, etc for 5, 10, 20 or whatever points, but it will not improve on the score significantly.

Level 1 Stage 1

The second part of this level has a gold coin in one of the jars. You can see this area when the first part begins and it is easier to get everything now. When the first part of this level starts, zoom in on the house to the right and shoot very quickly. Shoot all of the jars in the following order: right side of house on deck, left side of house on deck, left side of house on ground, right side of house on ground. If you hit everything, you should get the gold coin. If not, there will only be a couple of jars remaining when you get to the second part and you should have plenty of time to get the coin. If you do this quickly enough, you should have time to get the items on the right side (on the grass). There are two smaller items worth 5 points, and another item that disappears over the hill unless you hit it enough times for 20 points.

After you zoom out from the house, shoot the first target. Then zoom in on the scarecrow and take that down. Zoom out again and shoot the targets. The next set will be two large ones. You should have some time after this to shoot the sign. Then point off to the left and hit the three red targets. Then aim your pointer at either the left or right side of the screen and shoot the 5 red targets. Zoom in on the gold target in the center of the screen for the last one. There is plenty of time here so you should try to get all center hits for triple points. At the end of the first part, you should have around 5600 points, or 4600 if you didnt get the gold coin yet.

As you are moving towards the second part of this stage, zoom in a little to the right of the scarecrow and take it out. Zoom out and hit the first target in the center. Now is the time to hit any jars that you missed before, especially if you didnt get the gold coin. 5 targets will appear on the deck in front of the house. After that, put the pointer over the left most pole on the house (up on the roof). Hit the 3 targets on top of the poles and then clear the two large ones in front. Zoom in to the right of the house and wait for the 4 targets to appear. After shooting those, zoom out and zoom in on the gold target to the left. While you are zoomed in, you should be able to get the sign. This part also leaves you with plenty of time so you should try for the center hits on all targets, except maybe for the small targets that appear on top of the house. If you finish with 3 or 4 seconds, you can hit the door 3 times. This causes 5 green balloons to float out, each worth 100 points, but if you hit them all, you get a 500 point bonus. I wouldnt recommend doing this because it is only worth a total of 1000 points and it risks your continuous streak. Sometimes if I have a lot of time at the end of this part, I will try to get just 1 or 2 of the balloons. After this part, you should have around 19000 points.

Assuming that you got both scarecrows, you should be moving into the alternate area of stage 1. As you are moving, there are 4 jars on top of a post. You should be able to pick one off, but it isnt really that important since it is only worth a few points. What is important is the brown jar to the right and slightly behind the house. As you are still moving towards the start of this part, zoom in on the house and you will see three jars appear to the right. Hit the brown jar for 1000 points. After that, zoom out and wait for the targets to start appearing. The first is on the right side, then two appear a little higher. Shoot them right to left (you always want to shoot the red targets before the gold targets when possible). Keep the pointer on the left side of the screen and shoot the next three targets from left to right. Now a few targets will rise out of the water. Make sure you aim above the water because hitting the water line will cause you to miss. Hit the first, then hit the red target on the left and quickly hit the gold one on the right. For these rising targets, dont worry about hitting the centers, although if you shoot the first two quickly enough, you should be able to get a center hit on the gold rising target. After shooting the gold one, zoom in just to the right of the house. There are 2 moving targets. Hit the gold one first, then the red. If you try for the red first like you usually should, you will end up missing the gold and you will lose a couple of seconds. Quickly zoom out and hit the targets that appear in the trees. There will first be two gold ones, then one gold one. When this single gold target appears, zoom in slightly to the left and below this target. From here, stay zoomed in and you should be able to see all of the remaining targets for center hits (except for the last one). Anyway, you will now see a red and a gold in the trees (hit the red first), then three red and one gold, and finally the last gold at the very top. You should zoom out and zoom in above this target for a clear shot. If you are fast enough, you should have plenty of time to hit all of these targets in the trees with center hits. If you never miss, your last target should be 150 x 49 = 7350 points.

There are 36 red targets and 13 gold targets. If you hit them all in the correct order mentioned, and you get all center hits, you will max out at 93510 points. Add to that the 1000 for the coin, 2000 for the scarecrows, 1000 for the bonus jar, and the 5000 for completing the level, you have a maximum of 102510.

My personal best is 102756, which came in the score attack. You will note that this is higher than the maximum given above. Keep in mind that there are two signs worth 50 points, a bunch of jars and smaller items, and lastly there are the balloons that come out of the door in phase two, which is potentially worth another 1000 points.

Level 1 Stage 2

There are some extra items on this level in the background. Ignore all of it. When the level starts, a few individual skeletons pop out of the sand. As they start to pop up, zoom in and shoot, then quickly zoom out again and wait for the next one. They always pop up in the following order: center, left, right, left. After the initial four, scroll the screen over to the right a little. You will see another skeleton pop up. Zoom in and shoot. You should be able to get another one just to the right while still zoomed in. Then zoom out and turn to the right again. There will be 1 more small skeleton and one big one. The big one needs to be hit in the head, but you can increase your consecutive hits bonus by hitting it in the shield a few times first. I used to try and hit it 10 times (very quickly) in the shield and then in the head. I zoom in when doing this to make the head shot easier. However, I have realized that these extra shots slows me up a little and it results in me not being able to finish out the level and get the 5000 bonus. With the scoring possible on this level, the 5000 bonus isnt that important, but what is important are the 5 large skeletons that pop up at the very end. You get 300 times the multiplier, which should be 79-83 if you havent missed yet. If you get them all, that totals 121,500 points just on those last 5 skeletons alone, plus the 5000 bonus for finishing the level. It is must better to only hit that early large skeleton once so you can potentially get all of these extra points at the end. However, if you improve to the point where you can hit this first large skeleton a bunch of times in the shield first, and still finish the level, go for it (I havent gotten to that point yet).

Turn to the right for the next wave of skeletons. There will be 12 small ones and one big green skeleton. Zoom in on the left most skeleton and shoot it, while turning the screen slowly to the right. As you scroll, shoot the skeletons. I usually zoom out and refocus when I get to the large green skeleton. At this point, be careful with your trigger finger because you dont want to accidentally shoot twice (which is easy to do with the automatic fire). After shooting the green skeleton, zoom in and scroll slowly to the right, while hitting the skeletons as they appear. If your aim is very good, you shouldnt even need to zoom in on these last few skeleton. You should try to keep your consecutive hit streak going through this wave. However, while shooting the small skeletons, if you miss anything, immediately shoot the green skeleton in the head and get the automatic and start rapid firing to clear this wave quickly. You dont want to start the automatic fire until necessary because you will lose your consecutive hit streak since the automatic fire usually misses a few shots. As always, try to hit the green skeleton last, since it is worth 100 points.

Turn to the right again for another wave, this time much larger. There will be another large green skeleton and a ton of smaller ones (41 to be exact). At this point you may still have your consecutive hits intact. If you do, shoot the smaller skeletons until you miss (but shoot quickly). Once you miss, or if you have already missed on the last wave, go immediately for the green skeleton and get rid of all skeletons on this wave quickly. When doing the rapid fire, you want to try to get rid of it during this wave so it is easier to build up another consecutive hit streak in the next waves. If you still have your consecutive streak going, here is the best way that I have found to preserve it. The skeletons will come at you from both the right and left. Try to zoom in on the center and slowly work your way left, killing as many as possible. Wait until the danger signal is sounding for a few seconds, then zoom out and start killing the skeletons on the right side that are closest to you. You should have some time here because you will have gotten rid of a bunch of skeletons on the left side (if you havent, one of them will probably get too close to you while you are killing the skeletons on the right side, and will hit you). After getting the skeletons on the right side, switch back and forth to any that get too close. Try to shoot very quickly, not because of the timer, but because if a skeleton gets too close and hits you, that cancels your consecutive hit streak. Be careful when shooting quickly since you are on automatic fire and if you hold the trigger down for a split second too long, you will fire twice and ruin your consecutive hit streak. You should try to hit the green skeleton as late as possible since it is worth more points. On average, you will probably hit about 20 smaller skeletons, then the green one, then the other 21 skeletons.

After clearing this wave of skeletons, turn again to the right. You will see four smaller skeletons and a large skeleton. Zoom in and shoot the smaller ones first, then the big one. Dont worry about hitting this one 10 times in the body first because you will wind up getting more points by just killing it quickly and moving on to the next wave (assuming you have your consecutive hit streak from the beginning of the stage).

Anyway, turn to the right for the next wave. Here there will be 4 more smaller and one large skeleton. Try to hit the smaller ones first, but the big skeleton may be in the way so just kill him. Dont worry about hitting him in the shield for this wave. Try to get rid of them quickly because the next wave is all big skeletons popping out of the sand. There should be 5 of them and by this time, you are probably close to the timer running out. Shoot them in the head and try to clear all five for the 5000 bonus. If you find yourself with a little extra time, the last large skeleton can be hit in the shield a few times. When shooting this wave of large skeletons, zoom in on them to make the head shots easier. Sometimes you will have some more time and other small skeletons will start popping up. Try to keep your consecutive streak going and shoot as many as possible. Chances are you will only get a couple.

If you can get used to zooming in quickly, shooting, and zooming out again, you will be able to get through this level.

It is hard to say what the maximum point are for this level. It all depends on at what point you hit the higher scoring skeletons. Usually you try to save them for last in each segment, but in this case, they may be in the way and you may have to hit them early. Also, this stage has 68 small skeletons worth 30 points, 2 green skeletons worth 100 points, and 8 large skeletons worth 300 points. After you clear all of these, you get the 5000 bonus, but then more skeletons start popping up, so you can get even more points if you are fast enough. Ill give you the maximum points, assuming that you only finish the stage and dont hit any other skeletons afterwards. Also, I will assume that you hit the large green skeletons right in the middle of those waves since that is about average. If you do all of this, the maximum score is 239250.

My personal best is 238030, which came in the practice area.

Level 1 Stage 3

At the start of this stage, start running forward immediately. As you are running, hit the two goblins. Then stop and hit the jars on the left. There is a gold coin in one of them. Then run forward and hit the other two goblins that are visible. There is a third around the corner that you can get while still running. You will see two close on the ground that you can take out. Then zoom in between the two towers and hit both goblins. Move to the left and get the two on the ground, one of them will be further away so you should zoom in to hit him. Then zoom in and get the one on the tower to the right. At this point, one goblin may have walked through the opening to the next area. If he did, zoom in and shoot. If not, you will get him when you enter the next area. At this point, there is a tent on the left. Behind it is a goblin. There is a gold coin back there but ignore it for now. Each second you waste on the gold coin now is 500 points lost at the end. Besides, if you finish this level quickly, you should have plenty of time to come back and get this later.

Now that you have shot the goblin behind the tent, run into the next area (there may be a goblin right in front of you if he didnt run into the previous area). There will be three goblins on towers. Zoom in and shoot each one. Move into the area some more and there will be two goblins on the ground to the left. Zoom in and shoot both. As you move into the next area, zoom in and shoot the goblin on the tower. It is worth mentioning that the goblins on the towers shoot fire arrows at you so you should always try to get them first. Now move fully into the next area and you will see three goblins on the ground. Zoom in to shoot them. There will also be one on a tower in the far back right corner, which you should also zoom in for. There will also be one in the far left corner. Zoom in on him. Dont worry if the items block your view of this last goblin. Just aim at him and shoot quickly. The first one or two shots may hit the box or jar, but that is okay because it doesnt ruin your consecutive hit streak. Shoot quickly since after the items are cleared away, you will hit the last goblin.

If you have done this level without missing, the last goblin will have a multiplier of 41. If you have done this level quickly, you should have about 40 seconds remaining at the end, which makes for a nice time bonus at 500 per second. After shooting this last goblin, start firing very quickly at everything. There are items in the back corner where this last goblin was. Then go for the roast above the fire (hitting it a bunch of times). Then go for the fire itself. The bones to the right contain a gold coin. Back up a little and on the left there is a shelf with some jars and an exploding barrel. There are some more items in the corner (near the entrance to the previous area). Hit them first, and then run back into the previous area and up on top of a tower in the far right corner is a scarecrow. Then zoom in and hit the skulls on the ground. Run back into the previous area and turn right. Shoot all items and you will see the gold coin that you skipped earlier. Then run around to the left and you will see another roast. Hit everything here as well. You should just about be running out of time about now.

It is hard to give a maximum for this level since it all depends on how long it takes you to kill all of the goblins.

My personal best is 75296, which came in the practice area.

Level 2 Stage 1

When this level starts, there is a ledge on the right with a large jar. Hit this jar and fire above it quickly to get the gold coin and 1000 points. As you are moving to the first set of guys, shoot the jars on the ground to the left. Then zoom in on the ground to get a good view of the barrels behind the first set of guys. If you destroy all of the barrels you will get 1000 points. The smaller barrel in the front left will be hidden from view after you finish moving so you want to take that one out first. Shoot very quickly since you havent started your consecutive hit streak yet. After the barrels, start shooting the jars until you need to stop and hit the targets. Once you start hitting the targets, zoom in and shoot the jars carefully to avoid missing. There is a gold coin in one of the jars. Once you get the coin, you should still go for the other jars since you have plenty of time here.

Anyway, onto the targets. These come up mostly random so you have to be ready to move in either direction. I have found that the best place to wait is focused on the center guy, right where the center of the target will appear. If a red one appears there, shoot immediately. If not, move and shoot the reds first, then the golds. You should be able to move at a quick but steady pace and hit mostly centers and still have time to finish all targets. You will start with 2 reds, then a red and a gold, then another red and gold. After this second set of red and gold targets, there will be a single gold target. After the single gold, you will have a red and two golds. If you are running out of time, aim at either the left or right and get them in a row. If you have some time left, go for the red one first. At this point, you should finish this part with about 8500 points.

As you are moving towards the second part, zoom in and get the jars on the ground. You should be able to get all of them before you have to start shooting targets, even if you have to zoom out and in a second time. Stay focused in the middle since you dont know which way you will have to move first. You start out with 3 reds and 1 gold, then 2 reds and a gold, then a red and gold, then 3 reds and a gold. Between sets, shoot the three jars on the upper ledge to the left and the sign on the right when you get time. When shooting these targets, I like to zoom in on the last gold in each set to ensure a center hit. If you try to zoom in on the reds as well, you will probably run out of time and not get them all. They arent that far away so you should be able to get center hits on most of them anyway, but zooming in on the last gold in each set is only insurance. You should finish this part with about 22000 points.

As you move to the third part, there is a large jar on the ledge that you pass. You should be able to pick this off as you move since it is so big. It isnt that important for 5 points, but why not there is nothing else to do at that time. Zoom in on the jars behind the guys and shoot them. Be careful not to accidentally hit the guys in front of the jars since that will ruin your consecutive hit streak. You go for the jars because there is a gold coin in one of them. It may be on the lower level, or maybe in one of the two jars on the upper level. I try to avoid the jars on the upper level unless I need to shoot them for the gold coin. For each set of targets, zoom in on the upper guy in the back. Aim directly at his center where the target will appear and shoot quickly. In this part, dont worry about hitting the reds first. The goal is to get to the fourth set of targets. You will start with 3 reds and a gold. Shoot all targets on the upper level and then zoom out and get the others. Then quickly zoom in on the upper level again and wait. You will then get 2 reds and 2 golds, then 2 reds and one gold, and the fourth set will be 2 reds and a gold. For this fourth set, do not zoom in. Instead, stay focuses on one of the forward guys and be ready to shoot. You need to shoot all of the targets in the first three sets very quickly in order to have time to shoot the targets in the 4th set. If you do get to the 4th set, that is where you start getting very high scores. You will also get the 5000 bonus if you get all three targets in this 4th set.

There is a scarecrow in the back right. If you have time between sets, zoom in and hit it a couple of times. Breaking this scarecrow up into two or three segments should allow you to get the full 1000 points and still be ready for each set of targets. You get a lot more points if you shoot quickly and get the 5000 bonus, so dont waste too much time on the scarecrow. It is better to be ready to shoot the targets than to get the scarecrow and take a little more time. However, if the gold coin appears quickly from shooting the jars, you can go for the scarecrow in the beginning and either finish it before the first target appears, or at least hit it a few times so it is easier to finish off later on.

My personal best is 56339, which came in the practice area.

Level 2 Stage 2

At the start, zoom in quickly and shoot the closest bulb hanging in front of you. Dont go for too many here because you need to be ready when the fish start popping up. At first, three fish will pop up (not all at the same time). After this first set of three, turn a little to the right and you will be able to shoot the next three. The reason why you turn to the right is to avoid moving the pointer towards a fish near the edge of the screen, only to have the screen turn on you and then you wind up missing the shot. After this second set of three fish, zoom in and get the scarecrow. Do this quickly and zoom out to get the next set of three fish. You will be able to see where they are swimming, but chances are you will need to turn slightly to the right again in order to avoid the scrolling screen when shooting them.

After this initial 9 fish, you should have time to zoom in and shoot a couple of bulbs in the distance. Just be ready when the crabs start to become visible. Start on the right and work your way to the left. Wait until they jump and then shoot. Sometimes you will have one jump right after another. Shoot them both quickly this way to avoid having to wait for the second one to jump again. After hitting all of the crabs, you will get a 1000 bonus.

Before the fish start popping up again, zoom in on the right. There will be a group of 5 bulbs all together. Shoot them and then get the gold coin. Then zoom out and zoom in on the bulb high up in the center. There is another gold coin in there.

After getting both gold coins, just keep shooting the fish as they pop up. You should be able to shoot them quickly enough to avoid them spitting anything at you. Once during this final part, you should be able to pick off a low hanging bulb. After getting all of the fish, there are 5 bulbs hanging in front of you. Shoot them quickly and get the gold coin.

If you dont miss, the last fish will have a multiplier of 29. This level has a maximum of between 79000 and 80000. I have completed this level with no misses, and getting all of the gold coins. The only things that I miss are a few bulbs that contain nothing but 5 points.

My personal best is 79751, which came in the practice area.

Level 2 Stage 3

On this level there is a scarecrow and three barrels, one of which contains a gold coin (random). When this level starts, zoom in quickly and shoot the scarecrow. Then zoom out and shoot the white skull. You should have time to zoom in and shoot one of the barrels (three times to destroy it). Stay zoomed in just in case the gold coin appears. Zoom out and shoot the two white skulls. Zoom in and get the next barrel, then zoom out and get the three white skulls. Then zoom in and get the last barrel. Even if the gold coin was in the first barrel, you have plenty of time so you might as well get the barrels. When zooming out after this last barrel, there will be four skulls shooting straight up in a row (they may not come up in order). Try to shoot the red one last since it is double points.

Now you will get 4 white and a red coming towards you from back to front. Try to keep the pointer around the same place, moving it only a little, and let the skulls come to you.

For the rest of this level, there is nothing more to say. Just hit the skulls and dont miss. Try to aim slightly ahead of the skulls. Keep in mind that it is better to let one fall rather then shoot and miss. If one falls, you can still get the 5000 bonus provided you shoot fast enough.

Anyway, the next wave will be 5 white and 2 red, coming towards you from back to front. The next wave is 6 white and 2 red, front to back. Then you will have 2 skulls shooting straight up and one moving towards you. The next wave is 1 from front to back, 1 from back to front, and 1 going straight up.

Once you hit 40 skulls, you will get the 5000 bonus. The last set of three that I mentioned will make a total of 41, so still shoot the last one for more points. Sometimes you will have completed this quick enough so you will see another wave of 3 skulls, and then one final wave of 3. If you finish this final wave, no more will shoot out since that is the end of the level.

My personal best is 71960, which came in the practice area.

Level 3 Stage 1

This stage has one of the highest scoring potentials of any in the game. When you start, there is a bell in the upper right. Shoot it as many times as possible. It is only 1 point per hit, but why not. As you move, shoot the jars and the sign very quickly on the ground. There will be a gold coin in there somewhere. Get the scarecrow on the right. All of this should be done before the first target appears. Here is the order of targets:

1. Red (center)
2. Red (right)
3. Red (left)
4. Red, Gold, Red vertically with the gold in the center. Shoot the top, bottom, then center (gold).
5. 4 Reds, appearing one at a time from left to right. After the 4th one, keep the pointer right there since the next set will start with a red in the exact same place.
6. Red, Gold, Red horizontally. You should be waiting on the right side so shoot the right, left, then center (gold).
7. Red (upper right)
8. Red (upper left)
9. Red (upper middle)
10. Red, Red, Gold, from left to right on the roof. Shoot from left to right to get the gold target last.
11. Red (lower left)
12. Red (upper right)
13. Red (upper left)
14. Red (lower right)
15. Red, Red, Gold, from left to right on the house. Shoot them as follows: center, left, right (gold).
16. Red (bottom of stairs)
17. Red (upper left roof)
18. Red (right side middle)
19. Red (top middle)
20. Large Gold, right in the middle.

After all of this, if you have time, clear any remaining jars and the sign. At this point you should have around 25000 points and the last target should have a multiplier of 31.

Moving towards part 2, you will see the scarecrow appear on the left side of the deck. Zoom in to the left of the scarecrow and take him out. Ignore all of the other jars for now. Just zoom out after shooting the scarecrow and get ready for the targets. They appear as follows:

1. Red (railing left)
2. Two Reds (railing middle)
3. Red, Gold, Red (railing right). Shoot the Gold last.
4. Two Reds (middle of second floor)
5. Two reds (second floor, split one left and one right)
6. Red, Red, Gold (right to left across bottom).
7. Two Reds on the bottom (one right and one left)
8. Two small reds in the upper right (appearing diagonally). They arent too small so you dont have to waste time zooming in.
9. Red, Gold, Red on the railing. Since you should have the pointer on the right side of the screen, shoot them as follows, right, left, center (gold).
10. Two small reds in the upper right. You can zoom in if you want, but I usually dont If your aim is steady, you should be able to hit centers.
11. Three red across the lower right. Shoot from right to left.
12. Four red on the second floor. Shoot from right to left.
13. One large Gold in the center.

At this point you should have around 75000 points and the last gold target had a multiplier of 61. With mostly center hits, you could have 85000 or slightly more.

As you move towards the third part, there are some jars you can zoom in on and shoot. Once you have just about stopped moving, there are some pillars in the background right in front of you. Zoom in right between them, and slightly above them. This will allow you to see all of the targets in this part and you should have no excuse not to get center hits on all of them. Stay zoomed in for the rest of the level and just shoot. Keep it quick, but steady. Try to hit the reds first and keep in mind that some of the targets moving horizontally will go behind the others so be careful not to shoot too quickly and hit an X. If done properly, the last target should have a multiplier of 89. A center hit on a gold target will give you 150 x 89 = 13350 points.

My personal best is 230008, which came in the practice area.

Level 3 Stage 2

This level has a few jars on the ground, one of which contains a gold coin. There is also a scarecrow directly behind you when the stage starts. I would recommend ignoring all of these things. The scoring potential is so high on this level, that to waste time to get an extra 2000 points would only serve to cause your final score to go down.

Basically, the green balloons (worth 10) explode into three yellow balloons (worth 20). Every other set will have one yellow balloon that is spinning. Hitting that one will explode into four red balloons (worth 50). After 10 consecutive hits, you will see a comet in the background (worth 300), which you should hit.

If you are quick enough, you should be able to get through 11 sets of balloons, plus the comets.

The spinning yellow balloon only appears every other set. It is better to hit the other yellows first, and save the spinning one for last. This will give you more time to hit the reds. If you hit the spinning one first, the reds will appear and one or two may disappear before you get to them, since you still want to hit the other yellows too. Once you get good enough with your aim, it really will not matter which one you hit first.

At the very start, scroll the screen up a little. This will allow you to hit the green and all three yellows without scrolling the screen.

Another good tip is not to worry too much about hitting the comet immediately. You will usually have some time to spare and you can judge when it will come out by the sound that is made when you hit the balloons. The pitch gets higher and higher and a short melody is played when the comet is about to appear. You can still hit some balloons and wait until the comet is almost out of site. Then go for it. This will ensure that you get more points for the comet (higher multiplier), and that the balloons will not disappear since they only stay on the screen for a few seconds. If you see a balloon that is blinking, either hit it right away or ignore it. It will disappear soon and if you wait too long, you may wind up shooting as it disappears, which kills your consecutive hit streak.

I really cant put a maximum score on this one, because it all depends on the order in which you shoot the balloons. I can say that you should be able to get through 11 sets of balloons plus all of the comets. In other words, green/3 yellows is one, green/3 yellows/4 reds is two, green/3 yellows is three, and so on. As you approach the 11th set of balloons, you should get the 5000 bonus.

My personal best is 191140, which came in the practice area.

Level 3 Stage 3

This is a hard stage. Birds are flying at you, and sometimes when they get close they change directions and cause you to miss. As you play this stage, you will get used to when they are about to change direction and when they will not.

At the start, zoom in and get the scarecrow. Then zoom out and stay zoomed out the entire time. Birds will appear from random locations. Sometimes they will appear very far away. You should not have to zoom in to get them. You want to make sure you get the birds far away quickly so they dont crowd you up close. When too many birds are close, some of them will start shooting rocks at you, which you have to hit or they will hit you and ruin your consecutive hit streak. This only slows you down and causes more birds to spit rocks at you.

The regular birds are worth 30 points. As you get about halfway through this stage, you will start to see birds flying from left to right or right to left, across the back of the screen. Those are worth 100 points. The first time you see these birds, try to clear out the closer birds first. Once the birds in the back get about halfway across, start shooting them. Doing it this way will minimize the number of birds that spit rocks at you (the birds in the back just fly, they dont shoot anything at you). The next time you see these birds in the back, you will more than likely have a lot of birds up front. Just shoot what you can. If you dont miss, you could finish this level with a multiplier of around 60.

My personal best is 103477, which came in the practice area.

Level 4 Stage 1

At the beginning of this level, hit the sign. Then as you start moving forward, there should be 3 jars on each side that you can hit. They are on ledges and you should fire very fast to get them. Then shoot the scarecrow on the right. You should have plenty of time. Even if the first target starts to fall before you are done with the scarecrow, it falls slowly.

Anyway, the first wave will consist of 7 red targets, falling one at a time, some may be right after the previous one. They dont all fall at the same speed, but they fall slow enough where you should be able to get a center hit on each of them. Position the pointer just below each of them and let them come to you. Fire when the center is over the point at the center of your pointer. Then you will see two reds on top of each other, followed by 2 other reds falling separately. One of them will be faster than the others, but it should still be slow enough where you can shoot the stacked reds first, then worry about the faster one. After that you will see a red wedged between two X targets. Position the pointer below the first X and let the red come to you. Then you will see a red and gold target, falling on opposite sides at the same time. As usual, hit the red first, then the gold.

As you are moving towards the next part, you will see the scarecrow pop up. Zoom in to the right of the scarecrow to allow the screen to continue scrolling without losing site of the scarecrow. Take him out and also the jar that is sitting next to him. Dont worry about the three jars to the left. You will have plenty of time to get them later.

This part starts with 2 large reds coming from the left, then 1 red falling down the waterfall, then 1 large red coming from the right. You dont need to zoom in on any of these. The next wave starts with 3 large reds from the left, then 2 reds coming down, then 1 small gold from the right. Zoom in on this gold for a center hit. The next wave actually bluffs a little. The first thing you see are 3 red targets coming from the right slowly. Ignore these for now. Get ready for the 2 reds and a gold coming from the left. They are small so zoom in if you want. I usually dont because I can just position the pointer and let them come to me for center hits. Then quickly shoot the red falling down the waterfall, and then get the three reds (large, small, large) in the back. There will then be a red falling down the waterfall. Shoot this and immediately zoom in on the 3 jars to the left. One contains a gold coin.

As you move towards the third part, zoom in and get the 3 jars on the right, then zoom out and in again and get the 2 jars on the left. If you then look into the cave in front of you, there will be swirled things hanging from the ceiling. Zoom in just below the one in the center and stay zoomed in for the rest of this stage. There are 12 gold targets and 4 red targets. Try to hit centers on all of them and when possible, shoot the reds first.

It is hard to give a maximum for this level because at the end, it really depends on what order you hit the targets in. In order to lowball the maximum, I will assume that you hit all of the 12 gold targets first, then the 4 reds (which is impossible by the way). This conservative maximum is 106520.

My personal best is 106098, which came in the practice area.

Level 4 Stage 2

This is a hard level to score a lot of points on since it is difficult to keep your consecutive hit streak going. I have actually tried to shoot slowly and keep it going, which I did, but it was so slow that I wind up with less points than if I just blast away. Fortunately there is a happy medium. Actually, there are two. Ill explain each method.

Method 1:

When a group of birds appear, shoot quickly (not too quickly) into their center and try to pick off as many as possible without missing. Once you finish off a little more than half of the birds in that group, zoom in and start shooting them quickly. You should be able to do this without missing. Because of this, I ignore the green birds because I dont want the automatic fire.

This starts out with 3 skeletons, but hold off on them for a minute. On the ground to the right is a small mushroom kind of thing. This is the same thing that appears on the ground to the right of the first part of level 1 stage 1. Zoom in and hit is a few times and get the gold coin. Then zoom out and get the skeletons. There should be a wave of 10 birds coming out of the grave. Kill them all using the method described above. If you are watching the radar, you will see another wave of birds. Scroll left and take them out. Take out this second wave of birds and keep an eye on your radar for the 3rd and 4th wave of birds. After you take out the 4th wave, two large skeletons will pop up. Take them out with head shots and then look at the back right of the screen. You will see a scarecrow that you can take out. On the ground, it may be hard to see but there are a lot of skulls. Zoom in and shoot them since there is a gold coin hidden in one of them. Now zoom out and go back to the 5th, 6th, and 7th wave of birds. During the 7th wave, you should get the 5000 bonus. After the 7th wave, 4 large skeletons will pop up. They will not be together. There will be two groups of two skeletons. Take them out with head shots, and then go to the 8th wave of birds.

If you have been shooting the birds using the method I described above, you should not be able to make it to the 8th wave. In fact, you probably will not even get to the point where you receive the 5000 bonus. That is okay. If you dont miss anything, you should be able to score big on this level.

Using this first method, I have scored over 50000 on this level.

Method 2:

This method usually ends with the first two large skeletons immediately after the 4th wave of birds, because you simply run out of time. Shoot the first three skeletons on the ground. When you are done, aim at the center of the pack of birds and hold the trigger down. You will hit one bird, and then when the exploding arrow is ready, launch it at the center of the pack. Most of the birds should explode, giving you full multiplier points and adding to your consecutive hit streak as if you hit each one individually. If there are any birds left, either zoom in and pick them off one at a time, or you can wait for them to charge you and them pick them off. It is much easier when they start to charge you, but it takes longer since you have to wait for them. Kill the next 3 waves of birds using this same method. Usually you are running out of time by the time you finish off the 4th wave. You should have just enough time to kill the two large skeletons, which if you havent missed and hit everything up until this point, should have multipliers of 69 and 70 (times 300 points gives you 41,700 points).

Using this method, I have scored my personal best of 146820, which came in the practice area.

Level 4 Stage 3

These spiders move very slowly so they are easy to take out. Each spider must be hit twice. The first hit is worth 10 and the second hit is worth 100. Now technically, you should be able to increase your score by hitting a few spiders the first time, and then going back to hit them all a second time. However, I have not found this method worth while, since the bonus at the end of hitting all 18 of them is 500 times the number of seconds left.

Im not going to try to map out exactly where each spider is located. Use the radar and find them yourself. I will mention a few tips on how to score on this level.

At the very beginning, you can start running forward at max speed and still pick off 3 or 4 spiders as you are moving. They are very big and slow. As you approach them, shoot twice very fast. Actually, you should do this for all of them. Aim dead center and shoot twice quickly. The spider will explode, but not immediately. It takes about half a second for them to explode. Dont make the mistake of shooting at them again. You will just miss and ruin your consecutive hit streak.

When spiders are on the wall or hanging from the trees, dont shoot twice quickly like with the ones crawling on the ground. Instead, shoot once, let them fall, then shoot a second time. They fall too quickly to get that second shot in. Sometimes you can get it in, but sometimes not.

When shooting at them, I like to zoom in, shoot twice quickly, and zoom out again. Sometimes when you hit them the first time, they actually move back a little, and sometimes a little left or right. If you are zoomed in, they are so big that this minor movement doesnt affect anything. If you are zoomed out, you may miss occasionally.

I dont know what order you will shoot them in, but the path that I take causes me to finish up with 2 spiders hidden in the trees above. For these spiders, I dont bother looking up and trying to find them. Instead, I look at the radar and just walk directly under them. They will fall in front of me and then I hit them twice quickly.

After all of the spiders, there are a few things you can do. There is a scarecrow up on one of the tree branches, and there is a white thing (near where you started) and hitting it will produce a gold coin. I dont bother with these things, because there is something more valuable to do. Towards the back of this area, there are little green and pink plants. They look like man eating tulips. If you have played Zelda on the Wii, these are the monsters that pop out of the ground when you are in a clearing, or path through the forest. These are worth 50 points, but your multiplier should be way up at this point, making them worth a lot more than going for the scarecrow and coin. There are three groups of them. One group has two on the ground, and one hanging upside down above them. Another group has two on the ground. Near this group is a platform with a bunch of exploding barrels on it. Just hit the first and it will blow up everything else. Behind and to the right of this platform, there is another group of these man eating plants. Three will be on the ground and one hanging above and to the right of them. If you have time after these plants, go back and get the scarecrow and gold coin.

If you shoot the spiders like I said, you will get 10, then 100 for each consecutive hit (times the multiplier). This will give you 37440 points, plus an extra 18450 for the plants, for a grand total of 55890. You should have at least 25 seconds left at the end, for an additional 12500 bonus.

My personal best is 75470, which came in the practice area.

Level 5 Stage 1

This level starts out with a propeller thing in front of you. Before you start to move, hit it a few times and blow it up. Once you are rotated to the first part of this stage, as you slow down, zoom in and hit both jars. The will either be a gold coin in one of them, or in one of the two jars later in the stage. When hitting these jars, shoot them and shoot again just above them quickly just in case the coin appears. You will get the full 1000 this way. After the jars, zoom out and shoot the propellers (both of them) before the targets start appearing. Now these come out at random, with varying speeds and sizes and direction, but I do know that the first 2 come from the right side, so start the pointer there. For the rest of this part, I cant say exactly where they come from. Just aim slightly in front of them and let them come to you. You should be able to pick off 12-15 before time runs out.

Now when time runs out, you hear a whistle. At this point, there may be one or two targets still on the screen. They will start to fall. Position the pointer under the larger one that you can see and wait for it to start falling. You will get 300 for a hit, and 500 for a center hit (times the multiplier of course). Occasionally you will get lucky and be able to hit two falling targets. In fact, when I am playing this part of this stage, if I notice that I am down to 42 or 41 seconds, and there is a large target on the screen, I will save that one so it can drop. It is easier to hit the large ones when dropping. Also, make sure you dont take too long to hit the dropped targets, since the screen will start to scroll you over to the second part of this stage, and then you will almost definitely miss. If you get a bunch of center hits, and also get the 500 center hit on the last target that drops, you could end this part with 9000-10000 points.

For the second part, there are two jars, which you should zoom in and shoot. If the gold coin didnt appear before, it will appear now. You just cant shoot quickly above the jar because you should have a 12-15 consecutive hit streak going. You will also notice a scarecrow in the back right of the screen. Ignore it for now. You will be able to get it in the third part of this stage. Anyway, this second part is just like the first part. There are just a lot more targets, definitely more gold targets. Just hit them all. As before, when time runs out, they drop so you can pick up a bunch of points. Keep an eye on the clock and try to save that large target to hit when they drop it. At this point, you should be carrying a multiplier of 28-30. Again, if you get a bunch of center hits and get that 500 center hit at the end as the last target drops, you could end this part with about 36000 points.

Now for part three. Once the movement stops, zoom in and get the scarecrow. It is far away so dont try to hit it as you are still moving. You have plenty of time before the first target appears, or gets close to disappearing off the other side of the screen. Now just hit the targets. None of them will drop at the end so dont worry about saving anything or keeping an eye on the clock. After you hit your 45th target, you will get the 5000 bonus.

I cant give you a maximum for this level because it is random and you never know what order you will hit the targets. It is also very hard to get all center hits, but on the first part, and most of the second and third part, you should be able to manage it.

My personal best is 70148, which came in score attack.

Level 5 Stage 2

This level has monsters traveling underground in a circle around you, popping up every once in a while where you can shoot them. They leave a wake so you can follow them easily. Each hit is worth 100 points. At the start of this level, move slightly to the left and wait for the first monster to pop up. Then scroll to the left some more and you should have two monsters underground, moving from right to left. Wait for them and shoot both. There are now 3 more monsters moving clockwise. Quickly scroll to the left until you are close to them (look at the radar). Then stop scrolling and wait. You should be able to pick off the first, scroll a little, get the second, scroll and get the third.

Now these green things will pop out of the ground all around you. There are 10 in total, each worth 50 points. The quickest way to dispose of them is to scroll left a little until one is near the edge of the screen. Shoot that one first. Then, as they travel around you counter-clockwise, move the pointer to the right slowly as you shoot. Dont move it enough to make the screen scroll. Stop about of the way over.

Now the next wave of monsters will appear. There are 8 this time. I like to scroll left a little, take out the first two, and then just watch the radar. As you see which direction the closest ones are moving, scroll towards them and wait for them to pop up. They will always pop up as they approach your field of view, so be ready and pick them off quickly. Then you will see the 10 green things again. Take them out as described above. Once you are done with them, you will get the 5000 bonus.

Now another wave of monsters will start to come at you. Scroll to the left a little and you will see 4 of them right next to each other. They will all pop up, but it may not be in order, so be ready. You should be able to pick off 6-8 before time runs out. If you were fast enough, there should be another grouping behind you that you may be able to get, followed by a third circle of 10 green things.

I would recommend that you ignore all of the extras in the background. You can get a lot of points on this level, and the extra couple of thousand just isnt worth it.

There is really no maximum since there are extra monsters at the end.

My personal best is 83500, which came in the practice area.

Level 5 Stage 3

For this stage, you are in a short, one-block town, with goblins in, around, and on the buildings. They are worth 150 points each. I usually like to zoom in quickly, shoot, and zoom out, but there are some that I just shoot without zooming in. Since I zoom in on most of them, I will only mention when I dont zoom in, and you can assume that I am zooming in on the rest.

At the beginning, there will be one on the ground directly in front of you. Then get the one on the platform up on the left. Move left a little and there is another on the ground. Move forward a little and zoom in on the second floor to the left. There are two up there, and one in the back on the third floor. Move forward a little and you will see two up on the second floor in the building on the right. There is an exploding barrel between them. I usually just hit this because you get credit for the goblins with full multipliers, and you increase your multiplier as if you hit each one individually. Move forward some more and stay on the left side of the street. There is one up on the second floor on the right side. Move forward a little more and you should be able to zoom in on the house way in the back. There are three on the second floor and one up on the roof.

Now go into the doorway on the left. There is one up on the balcony. Wait for him to fall since he will destroy a jar with a gold coin in it. If you want to save a second, after you kill him, shoot the jar quickly and the gold coin will pop out immediately. Now dont turn around. You should be just inside the doorway, so just back out and move right. There is a goblin down the alley. Kill him and run down to the window in that alley. Zoom in and aim directly at one of the goblins inside the building. Shoot twice quickly, once for the window and once for the goblin. I usually go for the goblin on the right first. Shoot the other goblin and then get the scarecrow. You have to get the scarecrow quickly because it is only worth 1000 points and you get a 500 per second bonus at the end. Therefore, if you take 2 seconds to shoot the scarecrow, you may as well have left it behind. You should be able to get the scarecrow in 1 second or less.

Now run to the end of the street. Around the corner to the left are three goblins on a tower. Be careful here. These three have very good aim. They will hit you with one shot, which kills your consecutive hit streak. Edge around the corner and try to take them out one at a time. If you see they are ready to shoot, take out one and then duck behind the building again. When you get used to this part, you should be able to get the first without them shooting, then move in an get the other two. These last two will probably get off one shot, so after hitting the second, you then duck behind the building quickly.

Now just turn around and zoom in and aim at the goblin in the window. Shoot twice to get the window and the goblin. There are two goblins inside that building. Move off to the right and edge up to the door until you can see the feet of the goblin on the balcony in the back. Zoom in and take him out. Now you should be able to scroll the screen to the right and see the other goblin up on the window ledge inside the building. Take him out as well. You need to do this without them firing one shot because they are very close and they will always hit you. Now back out and move right. You will see another alley between the buildings with a goblin in the back. Run towards him and shoot when you feel comfortable. He will not get up so dont worry about him shooting anything at you. Turn right and hit the last goblin. Now blast all of the items in that alley. There is a gold coin in one of the barrels. Run out of the alley and go back to the end of the street. There are a bunch of exploding barrels in the back, and another gold coin pops out.

There are 25 goblins, which will give you 48750 points with no misses. There are two gold coins and one scarecrow, giving you an additional 3000 points. If you are fast, you should be able to finish this level with 20-25 seconds remaining, which would give you a bonus of 10000 to 12500 points.

My personal best is 65546, which came in the practice area.

Level 6 Stage 1

When this level starts, zoom in and get the scarecrow right away. Zoom out and in again on the top of the hill in the distance to get the first 2 red targets. On the house you will see a few more red targets appear. The first is on the left side, then another on the left side a little higher up. At this point you have the option of hitting the door and shooting the balloons that come out for 100 points each. You can usually get 1 or 2, but I generally skip this since it is only worth a couple hundred points and it makes me have to rush and messes up my timing on the next few targets. Now you will get the two reds that appear on the roof, one on each side. Two more reds will appear on the hill in the distance. Get these after the ones on the roof (dont bother zooming in).

After hitting the two reds on the hill, zoom in immediately on the space just to the right of the house and get the two reds as they appear. Zoom out and point at the next space to the right (you dont need to zoom in here) and get the gold and red targets. A large gold target will appear in front of everything.

Now two reds will appear on top of the pillars in front of you. You should have time to get the sign on the ground, and then focus on the center of the water wheel. A red will appear right in the middle. When you shoot this red target, four other targets will appear on the wheel. Move immediately to the right and down a little to start with the red target and continue to let the wheel targets come to you. You should shoot all 4 targets on the wheel, three reds first followed by the gold.

There will be two reds moving across way in the back. Zoom in and get them. Make sure you shoot the bottom one first because it will disappear and you will need to wait a second or two for it to reappear again. Now a gold target will appear on top of the house behind the water wheel. Zoom in for this one.

Focus on the foot bridge and zoom in to get the red target appearing there. Zoom out and in again to get the red target to the left of the bridge. Now another red will appear in the back. Stay zoomed in and get this one. Stay zoomed in and get the gold and two reds that follow. Zoom out and there will be three reds in a row, 1 red in the trees, and two moving back and forth. Get all of these in any order you feel most comfortable. I usually get the two moving in the front first, then zoom in and get the rest.

Now 9 red targets will appear. You should shoot the large ones that are close to you first and quickly. Then zoom in on the one in the back right and shoot it quickly because it will disappear soon. Then zoom out and get the rest. I like to zoom in for the last 3 in order to ensure center hits. Once you are done with these 9 red targets, a gold target will appear on the left. Make sure you clear the 9 reds quickly or you may miss the gold target.

3 reds will now appear in front of the house, then 3 more on top. As you are shooting these, you should have time to shoot some of the jars and possibly the sign. There is a gold coin hidden in one of the jars (random). 2 red targets will appear on top of the hill (one at a time), then two more at the same time, then 2 on the ground, and finally three targets will appear in the gateway (two red and one gold). Zoom in for these last three. You now get the 5000 bonus. There is nothing left to shoot that is worth anything, but if you have a couple of seconds remaining, just shoot the blown up scarecrow for 1 point per hit. This is the same scarecrow that you shot at the start of this level (you turned full circle).

Hitting all centers and getting both the scarecrow and the gold coin, you max out at 80780 points.

My personal best is 78382, which came in the practice area.

Level 6 Stage 2

This level has goblins worth 50 points each. Some of the purple goblins are worth 100 points and some are worth 50 points. The birds are worth 30 points, and hitting the animals that the goblins are riding on is worth 5 points.

If you try to just shoot quickly and hit as many things as possible, you will not get many points. If you hit the first goblin, the animal will turn one way or the other (probably) and you will either waste time re-aiming, or you will miss. This happens because you hit the driver of the animal and now it is out of control. Usually the animal will move off to the side and the other rider will fall off, which means you dont get credit for hitting him. The trick is to aim at the animals they are riding. Shoot once and hold the trigger down. Shoot the animal with the explosive arrow. Sometimes when two animals get close together, you can hit one and both will explode, along with the occasional bird flying above them (the more goblins you shoot, the more birds will appear). You get a lot of points this way and you rarely miss. You also get full multiplier points for both goblins on top and the animal they are riding, and you also increase your multiplier as if you shot all of them individually. In fact, the only time you will lose your consecutive hit streak is if one of the goblins shoots you, which is rare if you keep blowing them up at a regular pace. It takes a while for them to hit you. Make sure you go for the animals that appear close to you since they will hit you first. There will be some monsters on foot. You should be able to shoot them without zooming in.

After you get across the bridge and once you are on solid ground again, there will be a scarecrow up on to of the cliff. I usually skip this because I can get much more points with the goblins and animals. There will be three purple goblins on foot to the left. Shoot them, but also shoot the exploding barrels to their left (just shoot one and the others will explode). There is a gold coin in there. You should be able to shoot them without missing. Sometimes it is better to just shoot the exploding barrels with the gold coin first since it will likely take out some of those three goblins.

Eventually you will get the 5000 bonus. I cant really give you a maximum for this level because using my strategy, you will likely miss some goblins and birds (not miss a shot, but miss them meaning you let them get away).

My personal best is 186495, which came in score attack.

Level 6 Stage 3

These ice creatures that you kill require either 1 or 5 hits. If they are holding their purple ice spear, you need to hit them 5 times because they will block the first 4 hits. If they have thrown their spear, you can hit them once. However, after they throw their spear, they will get another one back in a few seconds. You want to hit them 5 times each. You will rack up a much higher multiplier and score by doing this. These guys are worth 1 point for a blocked hit, and 100 points for a kill. Killing one guy on one hit will get you 100 points. Killing one guy on five hits will get you 10 points for the first 4 hits (1+2+3+4) and 500 for the last hit. If one of the guys threw his spear at you, it is usually worth it to wait for him to get it back before shooting him. There are also some birds that are worth 30 points.

Another trick for hitting these guys is to see whether they are moving or not. If they are still, shoot 5 times very quickly. If they are moving, shoot once, and re-aim, and then shoot 4 times quickly. Shooting once will cause them to stop, but they may move over a little bit so you cant just shoot 5 times quickly (you may end up missing). The first shot will stop them, and then the last 4 shots can be done very quickly.

When you start this level, there is a guy on the ground and one on the stairs. The one on the ground throws his spear at you, but it will miss so dont worry about it. You want to kill him, but you also want to give him time to get his spear back so you can hit him 5 times instead of once. Therefore, zoom in and shoot the guy on the stairs first. Then zoom out and zoom in again on the guy to the left of the doorway. Make sure he has his spear back before shooting him. Move over a little and zoom in on the other guy. There is a lot of stuff behind you (jars, barrels), but just ignore them. You get a 500 point bonus per second remaining so if you waste more than 2 seconds on this stuff to get a gold coin, you are losing points.

Move into the doorway and shoot the birds. Stay zoomed out and aim carefully. Then zoom in and get the guy by the other door. Move towards that door, but not too much. You dont want to let the guys out in the open area see you or they will throw their spears and you will only get to hit them once each. Move to the right side of the door and edge up (quickly) until you can barely see the two on the wall to the left. Shoot them and move up a little more. There is another guy on the same wall, but a little closer to you. When you can just see his legs, zoom in and shoot. For this guy, move into the doorway enough so that the next set of two guys will throw their spears at you. Dont worry, they will not hit you, but what this does is give them time to get the spears back while you kill this one guy on the wall. Anyway, these two guys are on the balcony in the back, directly in front of you. Chances are they will have thrown their spears by now and gotten them back if you did this right. Zoom in and kill them. If one of them doesnt have a spear, wait for him to get it back.

Run around the corner and you should be able to see two guys on the wall in the next area. There is a depression in the wall that you should be able to see over. Zoom in and get them. Move a little more to the left and you should see two more guys on that wall. Now turn the corner completely and kill the guy at the end of that corridor.

Before you enter the next area, know that there is a guy directly above you, and another on the ground right at the entrance to that area. The danger signal will start to beep, but just ignore it. Run up into the opening to the open area, just enough so that the wall blocks you from getting hit from the spears coming from the 3 guys on the wall. Zoom in and kill the one guy on the ground. Now look up and to the left. You will see three guys on the wall. They threw their spears at you a moment ago, but they should have them back by now. Kill each one quickly before they decide to throw again. Zoom out and in again a little more to the left and kill the next set of three guys on the wall. Now move into the open area and there is a guy on the ground all the way to the left. Kill him. Dont move into this area enough so the guy on the wall above you can hit you. Once you kill the guy on the ground, turn around and move backwards until you can just barely see the guy on the wall that you just walked under. If he has his spear, kill him immediately. If not, wait for him to get it back and then kill him. If your time is running out, just kill him whether he has the spear or not.

Now go through the doorway and turn left. There are two guys on the ground. Aim at their center (make sure they are lined up) and shoot quickly. This will enable you to kill them as fast as possible. If you have the time, let them throw at you and back out of the doorway so you dont get hit. Then walk back in and zoom in. As soon as they get their spears back, kill them. Obviously if you dont have time for this, just kill them immediately.

Once you are done, there is a scarecrow behind them which you can get.

You should wind up with at least 5-10 seconds at the end of this level. It is hard to give a maximum point value to this level because it all depends on how much time you end up with. Assuming you get a 2500 bonus for 5 seconds left, and you also get the scarecrow, and hit every guy 5 times, your maximum on this level is 177144.

My personal best is 174668, which came in the practice area.

Level 7 Stage 1

When you start this level, there are three skulls on the ground. Shoot them. As you start to move, there is another skill to the right. Make sure you shoot this one because it will give you a 1000 point bonus. Zoom in and get the scarecrow through the doorway at the far end of the room.

The targets in this part come in groups of three, followed by a gold target in the back. After killing the scarecrow, stay zoomed in and get the first target in the center. Immediately zoom out and hit the other two red targets as they come towards you on either side. Zoom in on the back and hit the gold target. Zoom out again and hit the red target that drops down on the right side. Try to hit this immediately. Another red target will be coming across the front of the screen. Hit this one without worrying about the X targets since the red one will stay in front of all others. Zoom in on the far right for the red target in the back. It will have come from the left, but it will now be on the right side and it will move up and disappear if you dont hit it soon. Zoom in on the back for the gold target. Stay zoomed in and get the red in the middle. Zoom out and immediately shoot the target on the left. It is moving away from you, but you should be able to hit it while it is still big. Another target will be coming towards you on the right. Shoot that one and then zoom in for the gold. Zoom out and hit the red target on the right first since it is moving away from you. Now quickly zoom in on the back right and hit the target back there which is moving right to left. Zoom out and hit the last red that is on the right side (or will be soon). Zoom in for the gold. As you are moving towards the next part, hit some of the jars. They are big enough so you dont have to worry about missing.

As you turn the corner, you have a little time before the first targets appear. There is a gold coin hidden under one of the skulls. Zoom in and shoot the two on the right side first. If the coin doesnt appear there, you should have time to shoot the others later. Zoom in on the center and kill the scarecrow. Stay zoomed in for the remainder of this part. Four red targets should have come out by now. Dont worry if you are still shooting the scarecrow when they first appear. You have plenty of time to get them. These first four targets will start on the right and then move to the left. Once they are on the left, aim at the first and let the rest come to you. Then hit the gold in the back. Now three reds will come from the right. Shoot the first one and wait. Point at the center of the screen and wait for these targets to move across. Shoot as they come to you. Then get the gold in the back. Now you should have some time to shoot some of the skulls if you havent gotten the gold coin yet. The next set of targets will start with an X so you cant start shooting right away anyway. Stay focused in the center and wait for them to start moving across from right to left. When they do, wait for them to come to you and shoot. Then get the gold in the back. Now three more will come from the right. Shoot the first and wait in the center for the others to move across from left to right. Then get the gold in the back. You are now done with this part, but you should have some time to get the remaining skulls.

As you turn towards the final part of this stage, aim at the very center of the wall and zoom in. The targets will appear in a 3x3 square, but they will start appearing in a outward spiral. Shoot in the order in which they appear very quickly. You need to then zoom out and hit the red on the left side. It will be moving away from you. If you dont see it, you didnt shoot the 3x3 square of targets fast enough. Now back to the wall in front of you. There will be an X shape of targets. Zoom in on the center and shoot the reds first, followed by the gold. Zoom out and shoot the large gold target moving across the left. Immediately zoom in again on the center of the wall and you will see a sideways cross of targets. I have found that the easiest and fasted way to shoot these is to go from the left, hit the first three, then get the ones above and below, then the last two on the right. Stay zoomed in for a 3x5 grid of targets. Shoot the top from left to right, then move to the second row and go right to left, then the bottom from left to right. Then get the large gold in the center. While you are shooting these, check the clock. You should have enough time to slow down and hit all centers here. If you have time, zoom out and hit the skulls on the floor.

My method doesnt shoot the reds first at all times during this stage, but if you shoot in the order that I said, you will find that it is easier to finish the level and get the 5000 bonus and max points. Using my method, the level maxes out at 209840.

My personal best is 204959, which came in the practice area.

Level 7 Stage 2

This is a tough stage. If you hit these birds on the ground, you can kill them with two hits, usually you need to hit them in the head. If they are flying, you cant kill them with a regular shot. You need to hit them in the wings a bunch of times, get them to land, and then kill them on the ground. However, hitting them with an exploding arrow is much better and kills them in one shot. You get 300 points for a kill, 10 points for hitting the wings, and 1 point if they block your shot.

When this stage begins, there are three on the ground in the back. Hit the middle one once and hold down the trigger and kill him with an exploding arrow. Sometimes the third bird will come up near the middle one and you will get both with one shot.

As the birds are flying, some of them will be still. Shoot those, zooming in if you have to, and then hit them with the exploding arrow. If they are moving around, hit them once first to stop them, then hit them again and hold down the trigger and blow them up. Dont try to blow them up while they are moving because it is much tougher.

Once you kill the first 4 birds, another wave of 6 will appear. After this wave you will have killed 10 of them and you will get the 5000 bonus. Ignore all of the jars and stuff in the background. You can get much more points by not missing and killing the birds. Also, ignore the danger signal. These birds almost never hit you.

My personal best is 12750, which came in the practice area. Not a very good score. The problem is that after you hit the birds the first time and get ready to launch the exploding arrow, they start to move again. The exploding arrow takes longer to reach the target than a regular arrow, so you occasionally miss.

Level 7 Stage 3

These lizards need to be hit between 2 and 6 times each. It depends on the armor they are wearing and where you hit them. The way to hit these guys without missing is to aim and shoot slowly. Once they fall down, if there is another coming at you, shoot him first. If not, zoom in and shoot the one that just fell. When they get up from falling, they jump a little so be ready for that and dont shoot when they are about to jump or you could miss. You should be able to continue your consecutive hit streak all the way to the end using this method. You dont need to finish the level in order to get a high score.

At the start there will be two coming at you. Hit the one without armor first, then hit the other until he falls down. Now hit each of them one more time to make them explode. Start running up the stairs and two more will come around the corner. As you turn the corner, another should be coming down the stairs. Run up the stairs and 3 more will appear. Go to the top of the stairs and two more will be up there. Now run into the room and move over to the left side. Ignore the laser because you can just keep running and go under the one on the left. If you keep moving at max speed, you will not hit it. If you go through the middle of the room, you will lose time.

Go up the stairs and two more will appear. Keep going and two more will appear at the entrance to the final room on this stage. Ignore the green flying bird. You dont want the automatic fire because you want to keep you consecutive hit streak. Go past the three lasers carefully and continue around the room counter clockwise. There are four more lizards in this room that you can get.

There is no maximum points because it depends on how many times you need to hit each lizard. There are 18 total and you get 500 points per second that you have left at the end. Usually if you go slowly to keep your multiplier going, you will just finish with barely any time, maybe 5 seconds or so for about a 2500 bonus.

My personal best is 75890, which came in the practice area.

Level 8 Stage 1

In the first part of this stage, there are 3 jars that will pass by along the ground. If you shoot all of them, you will get 1000 points. When this starts, you will see the first jar on the ground. You cant shoot right away, but after about 1 second of riding, you can shoot it. In this first part, there are 15 red targets and one gold targets pops up at the end if you got all of the reds. Shoot them in any order you feel most comfortable, but keep a couple of things in mind. Since you are moving quickly, you need to lead the target a little in order to get the center. If you shoot when the pointer is just over the left edge (or right edge in the second part) of the center, that is when you need to shoot. If it is directly over the center, and you shoot, it will probably still hit the center, but if you are a split second too slow, you will hit the edge and only get the 10 points. Also, I would not recommend zooming in to shoot any of the far away targets. You should be good enough to hit most of the centers. If you zoom in, the screen seems to slow up a lot, but the targets in the front (that you can no longer see) will keep going at normal pace. Therefore, if you zoom in and shoot very quickly, you should be okay. However, if you zoom in and take your time to get center hits, you may end up missing some of the closer targets. Speaking of the closer targets, they move by faster than the targets further away. Therefore, make sure you shoot those first. Lastly, after you shoot the third jar, there is a red target half hidden behind that tree. Make sure you are ready for it. I usually zoom in on the gold target that pops up at the end.

The second part of the stage starts with a red target on the hill in the back. Zoom in and wait for it. Then zoom out and immediately zoom in on the three skulls at the base of the tree in the middle of the screen. Shoot each of them quickly. Then zoom out and get the gold coin that pops out of them. It is random which skull the coin is in so just shoot them all. After the coin, there will be 8 more red targets. Shoot them as they appear. After shooting the 8th target, another will appear in the back. Ignore this one for now since 6 large red targets will appear on a fence right in front of you. They move very quickly so if you go for this target way in the back, you may end up missing the targets on the fence. Anyway, shoot these 6 as they pass you. The first is high up, then 4 are lower down, and the last is higher up. After getting the targets on the fence, shoot the red target on the left of the screen, and then move over to the right and get the one that is coming out of the trees (this is the one you skipped before). Now the large gold target appears.

For the third part, you should start with the 5 red targets on the right. Two of them are larger and right behind each other (almost). Shoot both quickly. Then reposition for three smaller targets, also just about right on top of each other. You should be able to shoot three times and hit all of them quickly. Then move over and get the two on the left. If you are not fast enough, shoot the first two on the right, then the two on the left, and then go back for the last 3 on the right. Once you are done with these, there will be a bunch on the left, starting with two next to each other on the ground. Zoom in right in the middle of these and slightly above them. From here you should be able to shoot all of them. Make sure you dont take too much time or else the one at the top will move off the screen. Quickly zoom out and get the red target on the far right. Then zoom in on the next 2 on the right and stay zoomed in. Get these two and 3 more behind the trees. Zoom out and in again on the left side for the last red target. Then zoom out for the large gold target. You should have plenty of time to zoom in and get the scarecrow.

If you hit all centers, and get all of the 1000 point bonuses, you will max out at 61800 points.

My personal best is 57791, which came in score attack.

Level 8 Stage 2

Each wolf is worth 100 points. What happens is a wolf pops out of the snow, waits about a second, and then runs either left or right. It then stops, waits a little while, and then charges at you. A wolf will not charge at you unless it is visible on the screen, or just off to the left or right. It also may charge you if you are scrolling the screen. It may start charging just as you move off the screen. A wolf may also charge you if you are zoomed in. The charging wolf may be in front of you, but not visible since you are zoomed in and looking past him. There are also green birds that give you automatic fire. Ignore them since you can score big on this level by keeping your consecutive hit streak going and just killing a bunch of wolves.

The way to kill the wolves quickly is to try and hit them as they pop up, before they start running. When they run, it will take you longer to aim. When the level starts, three wolves will pop up on the screen. One on the right, one on the left, and one more on the left. This third wolf may be slightly off the screen so you may need to scroll a little. Immediately after hitting this third wolf, scroll the screen to the left a lot because three more will pop up. Try to get there quickly enough so you can pick them off before they start to run. Once you do this, zoom in on the hill in front of you (you may need to scroll slightly back to the right). You should see a ton of wolves running down the hill. You should be able to pick off between 10-15 of them. You could probably get more, but after 10-15 you should zoom out because the others may start to charge you. After you zoom out, just watch the radar and kill all of them. You should be able to aim carefully enough so as not to miss. When the wolves charge you (and they will during this phase), be careful because some of them will skip to one side as they charge and avoid your shot (most of them will not do this).

After killing all of these wolves, scroll around to the section of the screen where you can see a lake with ice floes in it. A few wolves will pop up and you should try to kill them quickly before they start to run. Stay looking at the lake and more will pop up. Keep killing them and try to get them all before they run. If you miss one or two, just scroll and get them after the others finish popping up. By this time, the wolves from the lake should be near you now. Kill as many as possible. You will get a 5000 bonus after killing 50 and this is about the time you will get it.

My personal best is 176100, which came in score attack.

Level 8 Stage 3

This level has three parts. The first part you need to wait until Darknut swings his sword and launches a ton of birds at you. Make sure you are moving when this happens so the birds dont hit you. As soon as he swings, move a little and start firing at him. Dont stop until you see that the shots are doing nothing. At this point, there will be three flying insects that you should kill. Repeat the above procedure one more time. This time, when you hit him, he should drop his shield. Then kill the insects.

In this second part, he will start by throwing his sword at you. Shoot it or avoid it. Now aim and hit him a bunch of times until he turns into a bunch of birds. When this happens, hit the white birds. There will be three of them and you need to get them all in order to proceed to the third and final part. It isnt that easy because once you hit the first white bird, the others start to fly back together and he materializes again. You need to hit the first white bird when you can see the others and shoot very quickly and try your best to hit the other two on the first go around. If not, you can repeat the above procedure and get the remaining 1 or 2 white birds, but you will lose valuable time, which amounts of 500 points per second at the end of this stage. One trick that I use is to run at him so I can hit him easier. Once he turns into birds, I back away so I can see more of them.

Once you get all of the white birds, you will be on the third and final part of this stage. He will turn black and you need to just hit him a bunch of times to finally kill him. Run towards him and follow him to make the shots easier for you.

There really isnt much else to tell about this level.

My personal best is 37585, which came in the practice area.

Final Level Stage 1

This stage has goblins on the goats and is divided into three parts. The blue goblins are worth 50 points and the red goblins are worth 100. If you dont miss any goblins (maybe you can miss one or two), the third part of this level will be loaded with red goblins being carried by birds. If you miss too many in the first two parts, you will only have 2 or 3 red goblins at the end.

At the beginning of the first part, you dont have your consecutive hit streak yet so you can go crazy shooting jars. There is one directly in front of you. Once you start moving, zoom in on the house and get all of the jars there. Then zoom out and in directly in front of you and get the scarecrow and the barrel. If you do this quickly enough, you should have time for the pumpkins as well. Now zoom out and get the first goblin. Zoom in on the house and wait for the next two goblins. The first will come riding out and the next will be on foot. He will turn quickly so keep the pointer almost right on the door and be ready to fire as soon as you see him. Now zoom out and get the blue goblin on foot and the red one on the goat. Zoom back in on the center of the screen and start to count. You want to kill 7 goblins and then zoom out again. If you zoom out any later, you may get hit by one that you couldnt see while zoomed in. These 7 goblins will mostly be blue, but there may be a red mixed in (it is random). After you zoom out, stay zoomed out and there will be 8 more goblins to kill. As I said, these 15 goblins will contain 3 red and 12 blue, and it is random when the red ones appear, although there is usually a red goblin at the very end of this part. Once you zoom out, try to kill as many as you can while they are far away because if you dont, they will come at you very fast and you will probably miss one or two. The good news is that when they are speeding past you, they are very large so you can swing the pointer near them and take a wild shot, which will probably hit more often than not. If done right, you should have around 14000 points by this time.

As you move towards the second part, zoom in on the house and shoot the two jars inside it. There is a gold coin in one of them. Then zoom out and stay zoomed out for the remainder of this part. Here is a trick I have developed. If you havent figured it out by now, the goblins on the goats will run towards the center of the screen and some of them will change direction. Well, in this part, the goblins coming from left to right will sometimes change directions, while the goblins coming from right to left will never change direction (except the ones on foot). Therefore, I like to keep the pointer about 2/3 of the way on the left of the screen. That allows me to hit almost all of the goblins without having to worry about whether or not they will change direction. Once again, if you see any goblins come out of the house on foot, you will need to swing over there and shoot, but then quickly move the pointer back to the left third of the screen. Here is another tip. At some point about halfway through this level, there will be three goblins riding all the way in the back left. At the same time, three goblins on foot will come out of the house. As you play this stage, you will start to recognize when this will happen (a single goblin will ride from the left on a goat and then this happens). Get ready for this and kill the goblins on the goats in the back first. You have a couple of seconds before the goblins on the right get to you. Doing this will avoid having too many goblins rush past you at the end of this part. After you get the three goblins in the back, then swing over and kill the ones on foot to the right. Then move the pointer back to the left third of the screen and wait for the rest. It should be easy to finish up these last few guys. If done right, you should have around 63000 points by this time.

As you move towards the third part, zoom in and shoot the barrel for a 1000 point bonus. Forget the other jars, since there isnt anything else in them, but if you have a few seconds, shoot them. I ignore them because I like to be ready when the first goblins appear. The first two will appear from the left. Then there will be five on foot on the left. You should position the pointer all the way over so you can kill them quickly. Then just kill all of the others. Shoot the goblins on the goats first since they move past you faster, and shoot the ones being carried by the birds as you get to them. Once you get past the first 7 goblins on the left side, the rest of this part is very easy. Only a few goblins come rushing at you on goats at a time, and the ones flying in the air move very slowly.

My personal best is 167158, which came in the practice area.

Final Level Stage 2

Puppets will drop from above and move around randomly. They need to be shot twice in order to kill them. The first hit is worth 10 points and the second hit is worth 50 points. Some of the puppets are red. They are worth 20 on the first hit and 100 on the second hit.

It is hard to give an exact sequence on this stage because the puppets dont always appear in the same order each time. However, you will always get at least two lines of puppets where you can aim at the first and keep shooting quickly to get all of them (or most of them). There will also be one case where two parallel lines form in front of you. In that case, you should be able to get at least one line, and some in the other before they scatter.

When this stage begins, two puppets will appear one at a time in front of you. Shoot each twice quickly. They dont move right away so just aim at the first and rapid fire twice. Repeat for the second. In fact, this is the way to kill most of them when they are not moving too quickly. The first shot stops them, and the second can be done rather quickly for the kill.

You want to follow the radar. After clearing one set of puppets, watch for a green dot on the radar. When you see it, spin the screen as quickly as possible to get this dot right in front of you. This is the little guy that creates the puppets. You should be in position either before they appear, or as they start appearing, allowing you to kill a few before they start moving around.

Dont kill or shoot the little guy that creates the puppets. This will give you the rapid fire and you dont want that or you will end up missing some shots and ruining your consecutive hit streak.

There is a scarecrow directly behind you when you first start this level. Ignore it. You can get much more points if you concentrate on the puppets instead.

Final Level Stage 3

When this first starts, the monster shoots rocks at you from his mouth. Zoom in and shoot most of them quickly. It doesnt matter if you miss here because you havent started your consecutive hit streak yet. Try and get as many rocks as possible, but make sure you get the ones in the center because those are the ones that can hit you.

Zoom out and wait for him to start crawling towards you. When he raises his hand, shoot the weak spot that appears on the palm. You need to hit it 5 times to destroy his arm. The first 4 shots are worth 10 points and the fifth shot is worth 200 points. These points apply for all hits on the monsters hand through this entire stage.

As his arm is breaking apart, zoom in on his mouth and wait for him to spit more rocks at you. Now you need to be careful because you cant miss. Just aim for the rocks in the center and shoot those (probably 3 or 4). Forget about the ones on the sides because they will not hit you.

Zoom out and he will start crawling again. Hit the weak spot under his hand. Again, it must be hit 5 times, and for the same amount of points.

Now zoom in and wait for him to fall. Hit the weak spot on the head 7 times quickly. You get 10 points for the first 6 hits, and 200 for the 7th hit.

Now zoom out and back in again just slightly to the right of his mouth. He will spit rocks and three flying skulls at you. Ignore the rocks. Hit the first skull to the right and then zoom out. You should be good enough with the zapper to hit the other two skulls without missing. They are worth 50 points each and you should shoot them all before going for his hands because these skulls will hit you and ruin your consecutive hit streak. When he starts crawling, shoot one of his hands like before. After you destroy one arm, this phase will repeat, starting with the three flying skulls (which you should shoot like before zoomed in for the first), and finishing with his other arm. Finally, zoom in and wait for him to fall, and hit the weak spot on his head 7 times quickly.

Now zoom in on his mouth. He will spit out 10 flying skulls in a circle and they will start to rotate. Shoot one of the skulls and hold the trigger down. Zoom out and wait a second or two. The flying skulls will come towards you and converge. When they do, launch the exploding arrow into the center of them. You should get most of them, with maybe one or two surviving. Those last few survivors can be taken care of with regular arrows. Wait until all of them are destroyed before going after his hands. Sometimes he will get close enough to you where he starts to raise one of his hands. When this happens, dont wait. Shoot his hand right away because if you dont, he will swing at you. The difference here is that now he may switch hands, and he may raise his hands above his head so you have to scroll the screen. Dont take too long or his arm will grow back and you will have to start this phase all over again, probably starting with the flying skulls. Usually by the time you get to his second arm, he is so close to you that he will just raise his arm as if to hit you, and you can shoot him from there.

After both arms, zoom in and wait for him to fall. Then shoot his head 7 times like before.

If done quickly, you should end this level with about 15 seconds to spare, giving you a bonus of 500 times the number of seconds remaining.

It is very hard to keep your consecutive hit streak going on this level, especially with the flying skulls. Also, sometimes he is crawling so fast and the weak spot only appears for a split second, it is easy to miss his hands. However, if you get all of the hits as described above without missing, you will get a maximum of 105280. If you finish with 15 seconds left, you will get an additional 7500 points, for a maximum of 112780.
