INTRODUCTION

----------------------------------------------------------------------

This is just a brief introduction about me and this guide. This is my
first time ever writing a walkthrough for a game, so if it seems not
up to par with all the other ones out there, all I can say is that
I'll try better next time.

Just a little bit about me, I currently live in Japan and work as a
translator. I majored in Japanese at the University of Michigan.

As for this guide, it is nothing more than a simple walkthrough for
the game. This guide is for the JAPANESE version of the game and will
probably be irrelevant when an American version of the game is
released. I will try to keep it as simple and easy as I can.

----------------------------------------------------------------------

CAMERA CONTROLS

OUT OF CAMERA MODE (WHEN NOT HOLDING THE CAMERA TO TAKE A PICTURE)

Wii Remote

A Button: Examines/pickups objects. / Selects things from menus.

B Button: Takes you into Camera Mode / Takes you back to the
          previous screen.

- Button: Brings up the main menu. / Takes you back to the previous
          screen.

+ Button: Brings up the map./ Closes the map.

+Control Pad: Scrolls through the menu.

Shaking: 1. Shaking the Wii Remote will allow you to turn
             backwards 180 degrees.
          2. Shaking the Wii Remote right before a ghost grabs/
attacks you will allow you to evade the attack
completely. This is very useful! (You have to find
             this function first.)

Flashlight: Pointing the Wii Remote in any direction will give you
limited control over where you point the flashlight.

Nunchuck

Z Button: Run forward.

Control Stick: Allows you to walk forward/backwards or turn your
character to the right or left./Scrolls through
               the menu.

IN CAMERA MODE (WHEN HOLDING THE CAMERA TO TAKE A PICTURE)

Wii Remote

A Button: Takes picture.

B Button: Takes you out of Camera Mode.

+Control Pad: Pressing left or right on the +Control Pad will
allow you to change the type of film you are using
shown in the bottom right of your screen. Pressing
up or down on the +Control Pad will allow you to
switch between your enhancement lenses shown in the
               bottom left of your screen.

Shaking: Shaking the Wii Remote right before a ghost grabs/attacks
you will allow you to evade the attack completely.

Aiming: Pointing the Wii Remote up and down will raise or lower
          your camera's aim.

Nunchuck

Z Button: Locks the camera on an enemy.

C Button: Uses the special function of your set enhancement lens.

Control Stick: Allows you to walk forwards/backwards. / Aims your
camera to the right or left.

SPIRIT FLASHLIGHT

The Spirit Flashlight pretty much operates the same way the camera
does except that you cannot lock on to an enemy with the Z Button.
You also have to charge your Spirit Flashlight by holding down the
A Button, which will allow you to do more damage than just pressing
the A Button by itself. (the Spirit Flashlight doesn't charge on its
own like the camera does.)

----------------------------------------------------------------------

III. CAMERA/SPIRIT FLASHLIGHT FUNCTIONS

----------------------------------------------------------------------

I'm assuming that the majority of people playing this game have
played previous Fatal Frame games before, but like the other games,
you can power up the Camera/Spirit Flashlight by finding blue and red
crystals as you play through the game. The blue crystals are used for
powering up functions and the red crystals are used to power up
special enhancement lenses. I'm going to go through and explain each
function so you know just exactly what you're powering up.

Camera

To get to the Camera settings, press the - Button and go to ˉe@
(Shaeiki) which is the camera. You will be on the ݂̑@iCurrent
Equipment) Tab. The Tab is as follows from top to bottom:

tB: This lists all the film and how much of each type that you
      have.

Y: This shows all your special enhancement lenses and which ones
       are set to your camera.

@\: This shows all your equippable camera functions. If they are
highlighted yellow, then your camera currently has the
       function equipped.

Note: All special lenses and equippable functions must either be
      found or unlocked.

The next Tab to the right is the {\ (Basic Functions) Tab. In
order to raise the level of these functions, you need to have the
appropriate amount of blue crystals. The Tab is as follows from top
to bottom:

ől: This increases the amount you can charge the camera, which
will allow you to deal more damage to ghosts.

x: This increases how fast your camera charges up.

`[W: This shortens the time it takes for film to load between
shots (doesn't affect fatal frame combos).

~: This increases the amount of blue orbs you can carry which is
used for storing up power to do special attack with an
enhancement lens. (The blue orbs appear in the bottom left
corner of your screen in camera mode.)

qz: This increases the amount of energy stored in the blue orbs
every time you attack a ghost. In other words, it will
replenish your power to use special lenses faster.

͈: This increases the range of your camera.

The next Tab to the right is the Y (Enhancement Lenses) that
you can use that will give your camera an added effect or boost
in power. As stated above and in the controls section, pressing
the C Button of the Nunchuck will allow you to use the special
lens if you have enough power stored in your blue orbs, which
are located at the bottom left side of the screen in camera mode.
The Tab is as follows from top to bottom:

: This slightly boosts the damage of your camera for one shot.
In other words, press the C Button and you will take a shot
with your camera that is slightly more powerful than normal.

: This will push back a ghost after its picture is taken.

: This moderately boosts the damage of your camera for one shot.

: This greatly boosts the damage of your camera for one shot.

: This boots the damage of your camera for one shot depending on
how much power you have stored in your blue orbs. This will use
all the power of your orbs at once, but if you have your Basic
Function stat fully maxed out and have your blue orbs fully
powered, this is by far the strongest lens.

x: This will slow down a ghost's movements for a short period of
time. The higher the level, the longer the ghost's movements
   will be slower.

: This will temporarily raise the attack power of your camera.
With this stat fully maxed out, it will do x1.4 the normal
damage. It's not much, but it helps.

: This lens will paralyze a ghost for a short period of time.

: This lens will automatically aim you at the nearest ghost.

: This will give you twice the amount of points you get for
a Fatal Frame shot. (Note that you will get twice the amount
when this special lens' stats have been maxed out. At Lvl 1
   you'll get x1.25 points, at Lvl 2 you'll get x1.5 points,
and at Lvl 3 you'll get x2 points.)

: This will give you more time to perform a Fatal Frame shot.

Note: Your list will be different depending on which special
enhancement lenses you have found and unlocked.

Combos: If you catch a ghost with a fatal frame, you will have a
chance to perform a combo. A combo is basically doing
multiple shots in a row, which will do more damage. To
perform a combo, shoot a fatal frame. You will have to
time your next shots to the blinking light to perform the
combo. If you're too fast or too slow, you will break the
combo. Combos will also be broken if things obstruct you
from a clear shot, like a wall, etc.

Spirit Flashlight

To get to the Spirit Flashlight settings, press the - Button and
go to . Scroll over to the {\ (Basic Functions) Tab. This
Tab is the same as it was for the Camera in that you need Blue
Crystal to upgrade each stat. The Tab is as follows from top to
bottom:

ől: Increases the amount of damage you inflict. Press and hold
the A Button to charge the Flashlight and release it to
      attack the ghost.

[x: Increases the depth (range) that the Flashlight can attack.

: Increases the Flashlight's recovery speed when out of
Flashlight Mode (when you're not using the Flashlight to
attack a ghost.) In the bottom right of your screen is a
circular gauge that shows how much power your Spirit
Flashlight has. As you use the Flashlight, the gauge
depletes. This will speed up how fast your Flashlight's
energy returns when you are not using it to attack ghosts.

~: This increases the amount of energy stored in the blue orbs
every time you attack a ghost.

A: This will increase the amount of points you receive for
performing chains and increase the time for performing a
chain. Chains are basically doing consecutive charged
     Flashlight shots on a ghost.

The next Tab to the right is the Y (Enhancement Lenses). Like
the camera, you have to use red crystals to upgrade these stats as
well. The Tab is as follows from top to bottom:

: When selected, this will give you the ability to take pictures
with the Spirit Flashlight. (BE SURE TO TURN IT OFF BEFORE
YOU FIGHT A GHOST BY DESELECTING IT!!!)

J: When selected, this will extend the time you have for chains.
(Like , it becomes effective the moment you select it.)

j: This will boost the strength of your attack for one attack.
As with the Camera, press and hold the C Button to charge it
up. As it charges, your aim will get smaller and it will be
harder to see a ghost. Release the C Button to unleash a
    powerful attack.

: This will do an attack that will push back surrounding ghosts.
(This can't be used for chains.)

Equippable Functions

As with previous Fatal Frame games, there are equippable functions
you can find throughout the game that will add special features to
your camera. Enhancement lenses and equippable functions must either
be found or unlocked for you to be able to use them. When you have

an equippable lens, make sure that it is highlighted in yellow (this
means it's equipped). Here is a list of all the equippable lenses
and what they do. (Please note that due to bugs in the game, not
all of these will be available.)

: In camera mode, a light will blink to let you know when you have
    a Fatal Frame chance.

: This will allow you to avoid virtually all ghost attacks by
shaking the Wii Remote right before being attacked.

: This will allow you to have up to 3 enhancement lenses set to
your camera at a given time. You can only use 1 of the 3, but
you will be able to scroll through them in camera mode (as
    stated in the controls above.)

: Shows a ghost's hit points.

: This allows you to see things that you normally couldn't see.
In other words, in order to find all of the 233 ghosts in this
game, you must have this equippable function equipped. You will
receive this after you beat the game for the first time. So for
those of you wondering, on your first play through the game, you
won't be able to find all the ghosts. (Note: Due to bugs, you
won't be able to find all 233 ghosts.)

: You will hear a sound when you are near a doll.

: Increases the amount of points you get. With this, you will
automatically get 1.5 times more points than you normally would.

: Your film will not waste. This is by far the best equippable
function in the game. To get it, you will have to get all S
rankings in the missions (good luck).

: Your camera will always be fully charged when you take pictures,
which means you don't have to charge up anymore while you aim at
a ghost. Unfortunately, due to bugs in this game, this function
is impossible to get. To unlock this function, you need to take
a picture of all the 233 ghosts in the ghost list, but bugs
prevent you from being able to complete this list, so this canft
   be unlocked.

----------------------------------------------------------------------

IV. MISCELLANEOUS

----------------------------------------------------------------------

All right, so just before you get to the walkthrough ahead, there
are some things that I would like to point out.

Things To Know:

1. This walkthrough only covers the normal playthrough of this
game. For other playthroughs on different difficulties, it
   should still be valid.

2. There are 2 different endings for the game. One is received
for beating the game on Normal and the other is received
for beating the game on Hard.

3. There are two types of special ghosts in this game. One are
dolls and one are ghosts for completing the ghost list. This
walkthrough will tell you all of the locations of the 79 dolls.
As for ghosts on the ghost list, not all of them can be seen on
the first play through the game as stated above, but this
walkthrough will give you over 190 of them. When there is a doll
   in the area, I will

denote it by writing DOLL ALERT and if there is a ghost list
ghost, I will denote it by writing GHOST LIST ALERT. For ghost
list ghosts, you have to be quick because most of them only
appear for a few seconds. There might be ghost list ghosts that
you might find outside of this walkthrough, which is perfectly
fine. I did my best to get the majority of them, but if you like
to do a little exploring on your own and tons of backtracking,
you might find a few I missed. For this walkthrough, you have my
word that you will get all 79 dolls, over 190 ghost list ghosts,
all the equippable functions found in the game (not the ones
unlocked at the end), and all the enhancement functions found
in the game (not ones unlocked at the end).

4. I will try to point out all blue balls that appear in a room,
but since the blue balls containing crystals (not major items
like key items, notebooks, healing items, film, etc.) or
generated by random by the game, the color of the crystal,
the amount of blue balls in a given room, and the spot where
it appears may differ. If at any time you find a ball not
mentioned by me or find that the color of the crystal I found
is different than the one you found or find that it is a ghost
hand and not a crystal, don't be alarmed. The game decides
these things, not me. (By the way, the blue balls that appear
are things that you can examine. Blue balls appear for finding
items, blue and red crystals, files, lenses, functions, etc.)

5. I've decided not to include a section for Missions. Instead,
I will be posting a save file later with everything unlocked.

----------------------------------------------------------------------

V. WALKTHROUGH

----------------------------------------------------------------------

--------------------

i. PROLOGUE

--------------------

The games starts off with some white text telling you about the
game and characters being fiction.

We begin the game with two characters, Misaki and Madoka. Misaki
and Madoka are two of the five girls kidnapped and brought to
Rogetsu Island long ago to take part in a ceremony which, of
course, failed. 2 of the 5 girls kidnapped long ago, Marie and
Tomoe, have died. Fearing that they will be next, Misaki and
Madoka come to Rogetsu Island in search for answers.
Unfortunately, they both have no memories of what happened to
them in the past.

We start with an opening cut scene of the girls talking. Once the
scene is over, we are given control of Madoka to play the prologue.
When you have control of her, start off by pressing the + Button
to bring up the map. You should see OوK KGx[^[z[. In the
upper left of your screen. This is the name of where you are on
the map. From here on out, when I refer to rooms in this game,
I will refer to them by the Japanese name as shown on the map.
Now press the + Button again to exit the map. (I just wanted to
introduce how I will be using the map in this game.)

Now, we have control of Madoka. For now, you will be chasing after
Misaki. Go forward and to the left. Don't go up the stairs on the
right. As you move forward, you'll come to a hallway on your left.
After going a little ways in it, you will see Misaki for a few
seconds. Once you have control of Madoka again, continue going
down the hall, which on your map is OوK AʘHO̘L. As you
proceed on, you will be given an explanation about how to run. It
says that you can run by pressing the Z Button on the Nunchuck.
It also says that you can do a 180 degree turn by shaking the
Nunchuck or the Wii Remote. Once back in control of Madoka again,
work your way down to the end of the hall and go through the door.
The big set of two doors on the right side are locked and cannot
be opened until much, much later in the game.

You are now at OوK L. In front of you, you will see a
flashlight and when you walk toward it, you will pick it up
automatically. Upon picking it up, you will have another control
explanation pop up. It tells you that you can raise or lower the
flashlight by raising or lowering the Wii Remote. (No, this is
not Misaki's flashlight. That is what Madoka is saying in the
text, too, by the way.) Once picking up the flashlight, you will
see Misaki go into a room at the end of the hall. Go down to the
door that Misaki went into and try to open the door by pressing
the A Button on the Wii Remote. What nerve! She locked us out!
Madoka, being the intuitive girl that she is, looks at a sign
to the right of the door that says there is an office on the
second floor and realizes that the key might be there (luckily
for us, she's right!)

Now, we have to turn around and go all the back the way we came,
so turn around and backtrack down the hall and go through the
door to the previous hallway. Walk all the way down the hall
back to the stairway we were at the beginning of the game.
You will see a nurse walking up the stairs. How nice of the ghost
nurse to lead the way for us. Go up the stairs. As soon as you
reach the top, turn right. You will see a hallway bending to
the left. Halfway down the hallway, you will see the nurse again.
She must really like us to be showing us the way. walk down to
the door that the nurse went through and go through it.

After going through the door, keep going straight (your only
choice). As you get close to the office, the nurse will appear
and tell you to go back to your room. Unfortunately, we're too
dumb to take a hint. Go up the steps and into the nurse's office.
Upon entering, Madoka will look around and notice nobody's there.
Another explanation will pop up telling you how to examine things.
You do this by pressing and holding the A Button. (WARNING:
Sometimes when you examine things, a ghost hand will appear and
grab you. If this happens, shake the Wii Remote to free yourself
from the ghost's grasp.) Now walk around the office and wait. A
few seconds later, a glowing blue ball will appear on the desk.
Walk over to it. Once you get close enough, another explanation
will pop up. It's just a continued explanation on how to examine
things with the A Button. From now on, blue balls will appear
throughout the game. Before picking up the blue ball, look at
the bottom right of your screen. Whenever you can examine stuff,
the Examine A will be shown like it is on the screen. The glowing
blue meter next to the A Button is your item filament. Whenever
you get close to blue balls you can examine, it will glow blue.
It will glow brighter the closer you are to the ball. (Note: A
lot of the times, the item filament will glow blue before a ball
has appeared. I think that it takes the game a little bit of time
to load the item sometimes, so if the filament is blue and you
don't see a blue ball, just wait a little bit and it should
appear. If you wait for a minute or so and it hasn't appeared,
then it might be a glitch in the game. I hate to say this, but
there are lots of these, so keep this in mind.) Now, press and
hold the A Button to pick up the little memo that's on the desk.
All the memo says is that the key to the Museum (the room that
Misaki went in) is on the desk. After reading the memo, turn
around. On the desk behind you is the key to the room that
Misaki is in. Once you have the key, another explanation will
pop up telling you about memos, notebooks and other things you
get in the game that you can always review later. It also tells
you about pressing the + Button to bring up the map. Once the
explanation popup is closed, your map will automatically open
and show you the room where you need to use the key (how
hospitable).

So now, we need to backtrack and go all the back to the door
that Misaki went in. Before leaving out, turn around and go
over to the intercom by the glass window and examine it.
Madoka will say that her name is written there (hmm, like
that's a big surprise). The moment you walk out of the office,
a distorted song is played over the PA system. Backtrack your
way through the hall and go through the door. On the other end,
everything will go back to normal, and Madoka will say that
she can't remember the song (even though she has heard it
before) and that she must look for Misaki.

Once back in control of Misaki, go through the hallway and
back down the stairs and then go back to the room that Misaki
went into. If you don't remember where to go, just bring up
your map and head for the room with the key next to it. Open
the door and get prepared for a little cut scene.

Once you have control of Madoka again, turn to your left and
go around to the desk in the corner of the room. Examine the
desk. You will get a notebook which talks about a camera with
the power to take pictures of the spirit world, yada, yada,
yada. I'm sure most of you have played previous Fatal Frames
and already know the drill. You will then see a close-up of
a camera inside a broken display case. No way, it can't be?!
Yes, it is the camera, the "Shaeiki" in Japanese games or
the Camera Obscura in the American games. Walk over to the
camera and examine it. Get ready for a cut scene.

Congratulations, you are almost done with the prologue. Now
it is time for our first ghost fight using the camera. Once
the cut scene has finished, another explanation will pop up
and tell you how to use the camera. It says to press the B
Button to go into camera mode and press the A Button to take
pictures. It also tells you that if you hold the Z Button on
the Nunchuck that you can lock on to a ghost as long as you
keep the Z Button held. Once you close the popup, you will
begin the fight. press B to go into camera mode and look for
the ghost. Once you spot her, aim at her or lock on to her
and let your camera charge. Once the ring has charged
completely up, go ahead and shot at the ghost. Since you
don't have any equippable functions at this stage, you can't
avoid the ghost if it attacks you. One fully charged shot
should do the trick. Madoka says she doesn't want to be
here anymore and decides it's time to leave, and without
Misaki. Before leaving the room, there is still something we
need to do.

DOLL ALERT
With the camera, we can now take a picture of our very first
doll! Go over to the desk. Underneath it, you should see a
little doll in a kimono. Go into camera mode and aim at it.
You will see a blue ring in the middle of your camera. Go
ahead and take a picture of the doll. If done correctly, you
will see a doll's face appear and hear it laugh.
Congratulations, you have taken your first picture of a doll.
Only 78 more to go. Once the picture has been taken, the game
will tell you about the dolls and that they're scattered
throughout the game.

Once you have taken a picture of the doll, go back to the
door you came in and try to leave out of it. Get ready for a
short cut scene. Once it finishes, the prologue will be over.
At the end of the cut scene you will be given the option of
saving your game and saving pictures you have taken with the
camera.

--------------------

ii. CHAPTER 1

--------------------

We start Chapter 1 with a cut scene that introduces the main
character of this game, Ruka. As stated in this cut scene,
Ruka has no memories of when she was a child or the Rogetsu
Island incident that happened. With the deaths of Marie and
Tomoe and having heard that Misaki and Madoka went to Rogetsu
Island, Ruka decides to come to the island herself in search
of her lost memories and friends, Madoka and Misaki.

Once the cut scene is over, we find ourselves with Ruka. If
you look at your map, you will see that we are at the
entrance hall or OوK փz[. If you scroll around your
map a bit, you will also notice that all the places we went
with Madoka are still there. Once in control of Ruka, and you
have taken a few steps, a quick flashback will happen. Once
back in control of Ruka, make your way to the stairs in front
of you. Before going up the stairs, go over to the lantern to
the left. Once you do, an explanation will pop up about saves.
These lanterns are your save points in the game, and appear
in your map as well. When you want to save, walk over to one
of these lanterns and press the A Button. Once you do, you
will be taking to the Save Point screen. There will be four
options for you as follows:

Z[u (Save): Save lets you save the game. ͂-Yes@@-No
Ao (Album): Album lets you save pictures you have taken.
IvV (Option): Option lets you configure the game's options.
(Exchange): Exchange lets you trade points for items.

One quick little note about point exchange. Depending on the
difficulty you are playing under, some items can and cannot
be exchanged for points. On easy, you can exchange points
for any item on the list as long as you have the points to
do so. As you play on harder difficulties, the items that
can be exchanged for points lessens. On normal, we can only
exchange our points for herbal medicine or Type 14 film.
Herbal medicine brings back 1/3 (one third) of your life.
You get points in this game by taking pictures of ghost
(ghost list ghosts or enemy ghosts).

Okay, enough about saving. Let's get back to the game. Go up
the stairs. As you can see, the stairs are closed off at the
top. Examine the bars to find a memo left by Madoka. After
reading through the memo, make your way back down the stairs.
Madoka will appear for a second. It looks like she wants to
lead the way, so let's follow after her. Go down the stairs
and go past the reception desk to the right. You will
eventually come to a door. Go through it. On the other side,
you should be at a familiar place. You will see Madoka go
through the same door that Misaki went through during the
prologue. This time, it isn't locked, so go through
it. Once again, we find ourselves in a familiar room. Like
last time, go to your left, but this time examine the glowing
blue ball in the glass display case. It is a newspaper
clipping. After taking the clipping, take a few steps forward
and the notebook on the ground will now have a blue ball
around it. Examine that as well. After reading through it,
make your way over to where the camera was. Oh no, it's not
there. Fear not, if you look hard enough, you'll see it on
the floor. Walk over to the camera and pick it up. Once you
pick it up, you will get the second part of Madoka's memo and
then a cut scene. Once the cut scene is complete, another
explanation will pop up telling you about the filament.
Basically, the filament is used for telling you the direction
of a ghost. It will glow red and point in the direction of a
hostile ghost and glow blue and point in the direction of
other existing spiritual phenomena. It also explains the item
filament, which I explained earlier. Once back in control of
Ruka, try opening the door that you just saw Madoka in earlier.
Unfortunately, it won't open, and you'll notice that there is
a spiritual presence preventing us from opening it. Another
explanation will pop up telling you about hints that can only
be revealed in photos. For those who have played the previous
games, this is nothing new. Take a picture of the door. Make
sure that the ring is blue when you take it. After taking it,
the picture will reveal a room with masks hanging on it. Let's
keep that in mind for later. Now go over to the wall in front
of you to the left of the door where you came in and examine
the newspaper clippings there to find a clipping. If there
isn't a blue ball glowing in the newspapers clippings, just
wait a sec or two and it should appear allowing you to examine
it. Once you have the clipping, walk back again to the glass
case display that we examined earlier. Next to it on the floor
you will find a glowing blue ball on the ground. Go ahead and
examine it. Congratulations, you have found your first blue
crystal. Another explanation popup will appear to tell you that
you can use them to raise the stats of your camera. Once you
have control of Ruka again, you are free to leave this room.
There is nothing more for us to do here. Once you try to open
the door, a little cut scene will begin.

Once the cut scene is over, you will be in your first ghost
fight as Ruka. Ruka's camera and Madoka's camera are pretty
much the same. Lock on to the ghost and charge up the camera's
power. Try to wait for shots when the ghost is close to do more
damage. Right now, we can't tell fatal frames since we don't
have that function equipped to our camera yet, so you're going
to have to guess on your own. For those who have played
previous games, you should be able to tell when to shot for a
fatal frame with or without the blinking indicator. Anyway,
take care of the ghost. Once she's out of the way, look on the
floor near the stack of books outside of the door you just
walked out of. Go over to the glowing blue ball on the ground
and examine it. Once you have picked up the crystal walk back
to the door, but don't go inside. From there, slowly walk
through the hallway.

DOLL ALERT
It's time to take a picture of our second doll. Slowly walking
through the hall, you should see some windows to the right. At
the first window you come to, aim your camera between the crack
of the curtains. You should see a doll sitting in front of the
window behind the curtains. Aim at it until you get the blue
ring and take a picture. If done correctly, you will get the
doll screen with the doll laugh. You now have taken 2 doll
pictures. Only 77 more to go.

Now that we have the camera, we will be attacked at random, so
let me just talk about film for a second. As you all probably
already know, there is Type 07, Type 14, Type 61, Type 90, and
Type Zero film, with Type Zero being the strongest and 07 the
weakest. There are some things worth noting about this game.
One thing you'll notice right away is that the Type 07 film is
stronger than what it has been in previous games, a lot stronger.
You also will notice that you have unlimited Type 07 film, which
is a blessing in itself because you can pretty much win the game
with Type 07 film. Unlike previous Fatal Frame games, you will
not be given a huge stock of film, not even Type 14 film. So how
are we supposed to progress through the game with not that much
film? Well, there are a few ways of looking at things. One, you
can use your points that you get and buy Type 14 film as you go
along at save points. That might work, but the problem is it's
expensive. You'll get like 3 Type 14 film for 3000 points. Why
is this expensive, you say? Well, let's look at all the factors.
This game, unlike previous ones, does not give you a lot of items
whether it be healing or film. They expect you to use your points
to buy them. That's good and dandy for those of us who don't want
costumes and unlockables at the end, but for those of us who want
to be able to unlock everything that becomes available once we
beat the game, it could come back to haunt you. So here is what
I would advise. As we play through the game, we will find some of
the scarce film that is out there. I would go with using the Type
07 for regular enemies, and go with the stronger film for the
stronger enemies, which I will give you a heads up on as we
progress through the game. One thing that you will definitely have
to use points on is herbal medicine. I'm sorry to say, but there
isn't enough healing items in the game for you to survive, unless
you master avoiding every attack that you might take. What we want
to do is conserve as many points as we can to the end of the game
where it really matters. The best way to do this is to use our
infinite supply of Type 07 film, which is good enough for handling
all the small fries in this game. As for items, I would recommend
that you have a lot of herbal medicines on you if you find that
you get hit often. Some ghosts in this game are really cheap, and
they deal massive damage for those cheap attacks. The herbal
medicine is sadly weak in comparison to other games. It only
builds up 1/3 of your life, which brings back next to nothing,
so you will be using them like water. Oh yeah, before I forget,
if you ever feel like you need to save or recharge your stock,
feel free to do so anytime during this walkthrough.

Okay, enough of all that jazz. Let's get back to business. There
are some more items that we can get and another doll we can find
before continuing on with the story. Let's head back to the
OوK փz[, the entrance hall we were in when we started
Chapter 1. You can either look at where it is on your map, and
move there on your own, or you can strain your eyes some more
and read this walkthrough, which you are probably doing in the
dark. To get back to where we were, just walk through the door
we came in. Check your map to make sure.

So once back at the OوK փz[, you will notice glowing blue
balls here and there. Go ahead and pick them up and get your
items. You will find Type 14 film on the seats. The second you
pick it up, another explanation popup will appear explaining
film. You will find a pamphlet next to the reception desk near
the clock, and you will find herbal medicine on the reception
desk's counter.

DOLL ALERT
Now it is time for us to get our next doll. Go back to the side
of the desk where you found the pamphlet just a second ago.
Right in front of where the pamphlet was near the clock, you'll
notice that part of the reception desk is broken. Walk up to
that broken part so you are right in front of it. Now, go into
camera mode and aim your camera down. You should see the doll
sitting on the floor behind the reception desk. Take its picture.

With this done, we are ready to get back on track. So now, what
we are going to do is go all the way back to where we started in
the prologue. You need to make your way to the
OوK KGx[^[z[. Check your map if you want to. All we have
to do is go back through the long hallway again that we just
came from when we took the picture of our second doll. So once
again, go through the door located behind the reception desk,
walk through the two different halls, and once again, you'll
come to the stairs that we went up as Madoka.

GHOST LIST ALERT
Finally, we have our first chance at catching a ghost on the
ghost list. As you make your way to the place where Madoka
first started the game, there will be a short sequence where
you see a little boy ghost running away from you. As soon as
you get control of Ruka, go into camera mode and shot the
ghost as he runs to the door in front of you. You have to
be fast because you don't have that much time.

You will notice another save near the stairs. If you feel so
inclined, go ahead and save and then continue to the door that
the boy ghost just went through and go inside.

You should now be in the OوK H, or dining hall. There are
several items in this room, a doll, and some ghost list chances,
so if you successfully captured the boy ghost then it might be
good to save before going in the dining hall because if you
miss a ghost, you can at least restart your game and try again
without having much to do all over again. I'm sorry. I should've
said this before, but sometimes it might be good to look ahead
for GHOST LIST ALERTs. I will put them in a paragraph of
their own with the GHOST LIST ALERT header to prepare you before
hand.

Alright, now we're in the dining hall. Doesn't look too
promising. Stay to the left and go straight. You'll notice a long
counter with food stuff on it. A ball should appear a little ways
down the counter, but don't examine it yet. If it hasn't appeared,
just wait a second or two and it will.

GHOST LIST ALERT
Before picking up the blue ball, go into camera mode. You'll
notice that there is a small opening revealing the kitchen in the
back. Get ready for your ghost shot because as soon as you pick
up the item, a ghost is going to appear right in that little area
that you are looking at. Get out of camera mode and examine the
item. It will be some herbal medicine. Now, there will be a
close-up of the ghost back there in kitchen. As soon as you get
control of your camera, go to camera mode and take the picture.
Since you aimed the camera there before you picked up the item,
it should still be set there when you have to take the ghost's
picture.

Now continue to go straight and walk over to the piano. It must
be our lucky day because there are two blue balls here for us
to examine. Go ahead and examine the ball on the keys of the
piano first. You will get Madoka's 3rd memo. After reading
through the memo, go and pick up the blue ball under the piano.
At last, we have finally found an enhancement
lens. The moment you pick it up, another explanation will pop
up about how to use these enhancement lenses. If you don't know
how to use them or just forgot, go back up to the controls
section and read about how to use them. The lens that we have
found is , which slightly does a more powerful attack when we
use it. Right now, though, we don't have any red crystal, but
that is going to change rather quickly. Now, turn around and walk
slowly to the projector in the middle of the room.

GHOST LIST ALERT
As you walk toward the projector, the ghost of the nurse will
appear around the circular serving area behind it. When she comes,
quickly pull out your camera and aim it at her. You have a little
bit more time than usual to take her picture, but you should be
fast.

Once she disappears, walk over to where the ghost was and there
should be a blue ball. Examine it. It will be a key. Your map
will automatically be opened and the key will appear at the door
where it is to be used. Once you close the map, you will get a
plate that tells you how to open up the way above the steps in
the entrance hall that we were at when we first started this
chapter. We're going to ignore going there for the moment. There
are still some things left for us to do. In front of you should
be a projector and a screen. Go behind the screen from the left
side. Behind the screen, you'll see a fireplace.

DOLL ALERT
Inside the fireplace, you'll see your next doll. The reason why
I said to come in from the left is because it is hiding in the
right corner of fireplace making it impossible to be seen from
any other angle. Take the picture.

Now, walk straight past the fireplace to the table in front of
you. If there is no blue ball there, just wait around a second
or two and it will pop up. Examine it. You will get the mirror
stone (as called in the American version) that brings you back
to life if you die. There aren't that many of these stones in
the game, so try your best not to die, especially when fighting
a small fry. When fighting the boss-type ghosts, that's when
you'll want to have it. Just above that table next to the
circular serving area where we saw the nurse, there will be
another blue ball. This will be some more blue crystals. If you
open up your map, you'll notice a big door on side of the room
close to where you are. Make your way to that door. At the door,
you'll notice some masks hanging on the wall. Now where have we
seen that before? This is the hint that we got when we took that
picture of the door keeping us out from seeing
Madoka. Before examining the wall, there is still an item for us
to grab. If you look up ahead in the space outside of the middle
dining area, you'll notice a blue ball on the table in the
corner. Examine it to get another herbal medicine. Now with that
settled, go to the mask on the wall again and get ready to take
a picture.

GHOST LIST ALERT
Now examine the wall. You will see that there is a mask missing.
It is then that we turn around to find the boy ghost from
earlier wearing the mask. Get in camera mode and take a picture
as quick as you can. This one is a bit difficult because the boy
is moving and runs through the door. You don't have much time to
get his picture, so be fast.

After taking the ghosts picture, follow him through the doors.
As soon as you enter into the hallway, go left as far as you can.

DOLL ALERT
In the wooden dresser sitting on the second row from the top is
our next doll. You know the drill. Take its picture.

After taking the doll's picture, turn around and make your way
down the hall.

GHOST LIST ALERT
Before you come to the left turn, there will be an window in
front of you. You'll know when he appears because you'll hear
him screaming out in pain. As soon as you can, take out your
camera and aim at the window. He's a little ways beyond the
window, but if you aim straight at the window, you should get
the blue ring to take your picture.

Before turning left and going further down the hall, to the
right of the window where you just took the ghost's picture
is a little container. Walk over to it and a blue ball should
appear examine it to get another newspaper clipping. With that
done, it is now safe to make your way down the hall. At the end,
you'll come to some doors. Open them and go through.

Hmm, this place looks familiar. Well, you'll notice that we've
come right back to the entrance hall that we were in at the
beginning of this chapter. Now it is time to use the key that
we just got.

GHOST LIST ALERT
As soon as you walk in front of the stairs, the ghost of the
boy will appear at the top hiding behind the bars that keep us
from going up the stairs. It's obvious that he's teasing us
because we can't get up there...yet. Anyway, as soon as you
hear the boy finish saying his piece, take out your camera
and quickly aim at the top of the stairs to get you next
ghost list picture.

Now might be a good time to save if you managed to get all the
ghosts and dolls to this point. We're slowly but surely getting
there. The nice thing is that we have almost gotten all the
dolls in floor one. Just a few more left. Now, we have to open
up the top of the stairs. If you don't know where to go, open
up your map. You should be in OوK փz[. As you can see on
the map, past the save and behind the stairs is a door with a
key. Go to that door and go inside.

Once inside the little storage room, turn to your right and walk
forward. Now, a blue ball should appear, but you can get that
in a second.

DOLL ALERT
It is time for us to take a picture of the second to last doll
found on the first floor (OوK). It's hiding down inside the
cardboard box. Aim down with your camera and take the picture.

If you haven't already, feel free to pick up the blue ball that
just appeared. It is another newspaper clipping. After reading
through it, you'll notice the mummy in the corner decides to
move out of the way for us. Go over by the mummy and examine.
We now have one of our first puzzles in the game. We have to
flip the breakers until we get the number 13. For those wishing
to solve this on your own, please skip to the next paragraph.
For those who want the answer right here and right now, leave
the first and third levers up and push the other 3 down. It
should look like: up down up down down.

Now you will see a cut scene with the top of the stairs opening
up. Finally, we can go to the second floor (OٓK). Leave this
room and walk to the stairs. If you want to save, go ahead and
do so. As you make your way to the stairs, the phone at the
reception desk is going to ring. Walk over there and pick it up.
There person on the other end says a couple of things and
decides to hang up. How rude. Didn't leave a name or anything.
Anyway, make your way up the stairs.

GHOST LIST ALERT
As you get halfway up the stairs, you will see two ghosts walking
at the top, the nurse and someone else. Quickly take out your
camera and aim at the top of the stairs and take a picture as
they walk by.

Continue up the stairs. Hmm, this looks like a familiar place
again. You're right. We're right in front of the office we went
into in the prologue with Madoka. Walk up the steps again and
wait right in front of that little bench over there. A blue
ball should appear. Examine it to get your first red crystal.
Again, another explanation popup will appear telling us about
red crystals. They're pretty much the same as blue except red
power up the stats of special enhancement lenses. With the 5 we
just got, you should have enough to power up the lens we
picked up earlier. Go ahead and power that up if you want. I
would say go for it because we are not going to get another lens
that we can use to boost our attack until Chapter 6.

It seemed like only a minute ago we were here with Madoka. By
the way, what the heck happened to Madoka anyway? Well, we are
going to find out soon. Go inside the office.

DOLL ALERT
As soon as you enter, take out your camera and walk slowly
forward aiming to the bottom right. Under the desk you'll see
your next doll. Take its picture.

Inside the office, you will immediately notice that your item
filament is blue, which means we have some goodies inside here.
Walk over to the back of the office on the left side in front
of the door that's blocked. A blue ball should appear. Pick it
up to get some herbal medicine. Once you have the medicine,
feel free to leave the office. We have no more business here.
Once you leave out, go through the door straight in front of
you.

GHOST LIST ALERT
Once you take a few steps into the hallway on the other side,
a ghost will appear behind you in front of the door. You have
to be quick to get this one. I recommend shaking either your
Wii Remote or Nunchuck to do a 180 turn and then bust out your
camera and take the picture.

GHOST LIST ALERT
What, we have two ghosts in a row? Yes, we do, so get ready.
After taking the ghost picture, continue down the hall. There
will be a couple of turns, but you will come to another long
hall with several rooms. You'll notice that there is a blue
ball on the floor, but don't worry about that yet. Just walk
down the hall. The boy will appear in front of a room at the
very far end to the left. As soon as he appears, take out your
camera and take his picture.

With that out of the way, we can now examine that ball we saw
on the ground earlier, which happens to be Madoka's 4th memo.
With that in our hands, let's make our way down the hall. All
these other rooms are locked for now. Part way through, you'll
notice a dresser. Stop there and examine the ball that is on
top of it, or that will soon appear on top of it, to get the
sacred water (as the American version calls it). The sacred
water will bring back all of your life, but be warned, there
are not many in the game. Oh yeah, I don't know if I told you
earlier how to use items, but I will do so now. We haven't had
hardly any fights yet, so you should still have all your life.
To use an item, press the - Button to go to the menu screen.
Select the second choice (tools). You can now look through
and use the items that you have. Once you have the sacred water,
continue down the rest of the hall. Eventually, you will come
to the door where the boy was. Don't go in that room just yet.
Let's go take a picture of another doll first. Walk down to the
end of the hall. There will be another room, but it is locked.
That's fine. We don't need to go in there. Pick up the ball that
appears at the end to get our first equippable camera function.
It's , which will tell us when we have a fatal frame. As soon
as you pick it up, an explanation popup will appear telling you
about and what it does. Basically, a light will blink below
the filament when you have a fatal frame shot. By default, the
function is equipped on its own, so you don't have to do
anything. Now, turn around and go into camera mode.

DOLL ALERT
Take out your camera and aim up. You will notice two shelves
high up on the wall. The doll will be sitting on the second
shelf a few steps ahead of you so just walk forward in camera
mode while aiming up until you get your blue ring. Once you do,
take the picture and head to the door where the boy was standing
at.

Go ahead and go inside the boy's room. As you'll notice upon
entering, there are a few items scattered around the room and
there is also a doll in here, so let's get to work. Turn to your
left and examine the ball over there on the chair. You will get
some more Type 14 film. Save it for now.

DOLL ALERT
Right in front of you hiding in the soil being used for the plant
is our next doll. Take out your camera and aim down low to get
the blue ring and take your picture.

With that done, get the ball right next to the plant on the couch.
You will find a tape and a tape recorder for listening to the
tape. After getting the item on the couch, a ball will appear in
front of you on the floor. Go ahead and examine it to get a blue
crystal. Remember, if at any time when you examine something a
ghost tries to grab you, shake your Wii Remote to break away from
its grasp. Now it is time to get the last item, which is on desk
in front of the foot of bed. Examine it. This is the boy's first
diary. The boy writes that he has put the mask underneath his bed.
Now a blue ball will appear under the bed. Go over and examine it
and get ready to fight the boy.

This fight isn't really hard. The boy will either run straight at
you or walk to you slowly and try to do a running attack once he
gets real close to you. Type 07 is fine for this fight. If you
have powered up the lens with red crystals and have enough blue
orbs filled with power to do a lens attack in combination with
a fatal frame, you can probably take him out in one shot. Just
watch for what attack he does. If he runs at you, you won't have
pretty much time to charge your camera. Just wait for the blink
and do a fatal frame to push him back. If he walks at you slowly,
lock on to him and let your camera charge up to full power. When
he gets close enough, he'll spring at you, so be careful. If you
time it right, you can get him with a fully charged fatal frame.

With him beat, go back over to the bed and pick up the mask that
is under it. Congratulations, we are almost done with the first
chapter. We are finished with this room. Go ahead and leave out.
Upon walking through the door, a cut scene will talk place.

Quite disturbing, wasn't it? Anyway, we need to go back to the
dining hall on the first floor, so backtrack and make your way
out of here. For those who want to know where that is on the map,
it's OوK H. As you make your way back through the hall, you
will be attacked by the ghost we took a picture of earlier. She
isn't hard. Once you have taken her out, go ahead and go out the
door.

You'll be right back at the nurse office again. Take the stairs
back down to the OوK փz[ (entrance hall) where we started
the chapter. If you want, go ahead and save. It might be a good
idea to do so if you've gotten all the ghosts and dolls up until
now. Now we need to go back to the dining hall. Go out the door
to the right of the stairs.

GHOST LIST ALERT
As you walk through the door, get ready for another ghost for our
list. He will appear outside of the window to your left. Quickly
pull out your camera and take his picture.

Continue all the way down the hall and go through the doors. You
will now be back in the OوK H (dining hall). Go ahead and put
the mask back up on the wall to remove the curse to the room Madoka
is in. Once you have done so, your map will open and show you the
room again, in case you have forgotten. Now, we have to go to the
OوK LO. Go ahead and walk over to the opposite end of the
room and go out the door. Once again, we will be where we started
the game with Madoka in the prologue. Now would be a good time to
save because this will probably be the last time you can in Chapter
1. If you need items, go ahead and exchange points. From then on,
make your way back to the OوK LO. On your way back, a ball
might mysteriously appear on the ground in one of the halls. This
is probably not an item, but a ghost trying to grab you. Examine
it if you want. If it is indeed a ghost, shake the Wii Remote to
get free of its grab. Go ahead and enter the room where we got the
camera. Turn to your right and go to the door where we last saw
Madoka.

DOLL ALERT
As soon as you walk into the room, you'll probably notice the doll
right in front of you in the bookshelf. Go down there and take its
picture. Congratulations, you have gotten all the dolls on the
first floor.

Walk back over to the door where you came in. Next to the door on
a step ladder you will find a blue ball or it will suddenly appear.
Go ahead and examine it to get some more Type 14. This would be a
good time to switch over to Type 14 film. Now, the only thing left
is to go over and examine Madoka. There will be a cut scene.

Boss Fight Madoka
Well, I wouldn't necessarily call her a boss. There aren't really
any bosses in this game, but as fights go I would consider it an
important fight, so I'll just call it a boss fight for sake of
conformity. For those of you wondering what Madoka is saying to
you during the fight, she says two things: "Don't leave me" and
"Help me". Anyway, this fight isn't really anything challenging.
Madoka will walk over to you. When she feels like attacking, she
will make a dash at you. Just keep your distance, lock on to her,
and let your camera charge up. Try to wait for a fatal frame, and
if you connect with one, you can combo her out with two shots. If
you miss the combo then a couple of fatal frames will do the trick.
You will see a cut scene with Ruka. After you have beaten Madoka,
the chapter is over. Good job. You will have the choice of saving
your game, which would be a wise thing to do, but up to you. You
will also have the choice of saving pictures you have taken.

--------------------

iii. CHAPTER 2

--------------------

We start Chapter 2 with a cut scene going back to Misaki and
Madoka. Misaki tells Madoka that they're next to die. A little
later in the sequence, we see a new character introduced. She is
wearing all black. She asks Misaki, "Have you forgotten?" For
Misaki, this character is significant, but I won't spoil it for
you and tell you who she is. During the course the game, you'll
find out yourself.

So we start with Misaki and the camera at our feet. Why how
thoughtful of the game. As soon as you pick up, you will pick
up a notebook as well. After reading through the notebook, Misaki
says to herself that she will be able to use the camera to uncover
clues about the forgotten memories of her past. With that said,
she sets off to find Madoka. When you have control of Misaki, try
heading down the stairs. Before you can get to them, you'll hear
a strange noise coming from the office. Let's go there and check
it out. Go up the little steps and go inside the OٓK KǗ
(2nd floor office).

As soon as you enter, you probably noticed the blue ball over to
your right. Examine it to get another notebook and then walk to
the flashing intercom in the back of the room to the right.
Before examining it, look on the floor just before the intercom.
A blue ball is there, or will appear. Examine it. We will finally
get our second equippable camera function. You will get , which
means we can now avoid ghost attacks by shaking the Wii Remote.
This is pretty much a god mode if you get really good at it. You
can pretty much avoid any attack as long as you time it perfectly.
This will be a life saver later on. My advice is that you use it
as often as you can. Practice makes perfect, and perfect means no
damage!!!! Once you have picked it up, don't go over to the
intercom just yet. Turn around and you'll notice that two more
balls have appeared on the desks, or if they haven't, walk over
to the desks and they should appear. Examine both of them. One
will be blue crystals and the other will be a map of the second
floor that talks about the people in the various rooms. Having
got all the items, you can finally go over to the intercom and
examine it. You will hear Madoka crying and asking for help.
After the nurse call ends, Misaki realizes that the call came
from room 203. For now, there is nothing left for us to do here.
We don't have the code to put in the intercom at this time, so go
ahead and walk over to the door and leave the room.

GHOST LIST ALERT
Upon leaving the room, once the door is opened, Misaki will see
the ghost of a doctor standing at the door right in front of her.
Quickly pull out your camera and take his picture.

Walk over to the door in front of you and try opening it.
Unfortunately, the ghost was nice enough to show us where to go
but rude enough to lock the door. Right now, there is nothing
left we can do. Make your way down the stairs.

GHOST LIST ALERT x 2
As you walk down the stairs, you'll see a group of girl ghosts
run by. This is a hard one to take, but you have to take a
picture of them as they are running by (good luck). After taking
their picture, quickly go down the stairs and run over to where
you saw them running. They will be standing outside the door to
the storage room under the stairs. Get your camera back out and
take their picture again. You must be really quick because you
have to take their picture twice, one when their running while
you're on the stairs and one with them in front of the door.

Before going into the room where the ghosts were, go back out
into the entrance area where we first started with Ruka. There
is a ball at the far end in front of the glass doors. Walk your
way up to it, but don't try to pick it up.

GHOST LIST ALERT
As you get closer to the doors, there will be a ghost that
appears behind it looking through the glass. Quickly take out
your camera and take his picture.

Now go over and examine the ball on the ground next to the door.
It will be some red crystals (it's about time). If you want to,
go ahead and save. As you're on your way, you'll see a blue ball
next to the reception desk where we took the picture of the doll
earlier. Go examine the ball. It will be a note. Now go save if
you have to and then make your way to the storage room
underneath the steps.

Inside on the cardboard box that the doll was in, there will
be a blue ball or it will appear shortly after entering. Examine
it. It will be a picture of the clock out by the reception desk.
After taking it, wait in the room a little while. As you'll
notice, the item filament is blue. Right next to the left side
of the mummy on the fuse box, a blue orb should appear. Examine
it to get some blue crystals. Now we are officially done with
this room. Go ahead and leave out.

Now go over to the big clock near the reception desk. Examine it.
After doing so, a spiritual presence will appear over the bottom
of clock. Take a picture of it with your camera. The picture will
reveal the number 8395, the number we need for the intercom. Now
go back up to the office and go inside.

GHOST LIST ALERT
As soon as you open the door to go inside, the nurse will appear
right in front of you. Quickly take out your camera and take a
picture of her before she vanishes.

Once inside, go over to the intercom and examine it. Put in the
code 8395 by twirling your Wii Remote. Doing so will unlock the
door. Once the door is unlocked, you will hear Madoka again
saying she's not Misaki's plaything. Your map will automatically
be brought up and it will show you that the door in front of the
office is now unlocked. I think it would be good to follow the
wisdom of the map, so let's leave out this room and go through
the door right in front of us. As soon as we're back to Misaki,
the ghost of the nurse will appear. Take her out (she isn't hard)
and leave this room and go through the door in front of us. (As
you may have noticed from the fight with the nurse, Misaki's
camera is slightly different than Ruka's, but it's functions are
pretty much the same.)

Once again, we're back in the hallway with all the rooms. Go
ahead and proceed down the hallway. Examine the first door you
come to on your right. That is Madoka's room. After you hear her
cry you will immediately go into a cut scene.

Alright, this will be the first time you fight two ghosts at once.
They're not really hard. You just have to be careful of cheap
attacks from behind while you try and aim at another ghost. DON'T
FORGET THAT YOU CAN AVOID ATTACKS NOW!!!! You can use Type 07 or
Type 14 film on them. You shouldn't really have a problem beating
them. Just keep moving and don't stand still in one spot for too
long.

Once you have finished with them, you'll notice a blue ball next
to a broken door a few steps down the hall from Madoka's room.
Examine it. It's a note. Once you have it, go back to Madoka's
door. There is a spiritual presence over it. Take a picture of
it with your camera. The picture will reveal the room filled
with books where we fought Madoka at the end of Chapter 1. Yes,
we have to backtrack all the way back to the OوK
(archives). So, turn around and leave out from this hallway.

Once out the door, make your way to the stars and go down to the
entrance hall (OوK փz[).

GHOST LIST ALERT
As you go down the stars, a ghost will appear at the top of the
stairs behind you. Turn around and aim up at the top of the stairs
to take the ghost's picture. She's telling you to die.

With that out of the way, it might be a good time to save, so if
you want to do so, by all means go ahead and do it. If you find
you're low on life, life items, or Type 14 film, go ahead and
exchange some points to refill your stock. Hopefully, you
shouldn't have to. (Gotta conserve those points.)

After you have saved, go to the door located behind the reception
desk. Once through that door, go through the first door on your
left. Now go through the door to your right. You should be in the
archive room where we fought Madoka.

Once in the archives, walk forward slowly. In the first shelf to
your right, you will find the special enhancement lens for
Misaki. As stated above, the lens will push back an enemy when
you use it. Now continue going down to the blue ball that should
be in the corner right where the doll is. If it isn't, wait for
it to appear. It will be some red crystals. Now make your way to
the mirror for a cut scene.

Now we have a ghost to fight. He isn't that difficult. For this
fight, your filament will be a big plus. This guy likes to
disappear sometimes, so keep an eye on your filament to find the
direction of the ghost. If he is far from you, he will slowly
walk toward you. Lock on him and charge your camera. Use Type 07
or Type 14 film, whichever one you like, and try to go for a
fatal frame combo on him. Depending on what film you use, you
can have him beat after a full combo or two. As for the ghost,
he will bend away from you before he attacks, so use that as a
sign that a fatal frame chance is coming. Always remember, you
can avoid attacks by shaking the Wii Remote.

Once you have showed him who's boss, go back up to the mirror
to get the key to Madoka's room. The map will automatically
show you where to use the key like it always does (good boy).
With the key in our possession, we are now ready to leave this
room. Make your way to the door.

GHOST LIST ALERT
As soon as you try to open the door to go out, a ghost will
appear to the right of you. This ghost stays for a while so
you should have plenty of time to take a picture of it.

Don't leave the room yet. There is still something to get in
this room. Go over to the glass display case to the right of
the door. Examine the blue ball inside to find part of a mask.
You will also get a note explaining a ritual. Once you have
gotten these two things, go ahead and leave this room. Go
ahead and leave the next room as well and leave out the door
to your right.

You will now be back at the entrance hall (again).

GHOST LIST ALERT x2
Okay, we're going to have two ghosts appear at once, so read
this first before proceeding. As soon as you come into the
entrance hall and make your way to the stairs, you are going
to see a ghost lying on the ground right in front of the steps.
Quickly take out your camera and shoot her. A second or two
after the ghost lying on the floor appears, another one is
going to appear at the top of the stairs. When she does,
quickly take out your camera again and aim at the top of the
stairs.

After seeing the ghosts, Misaki says something about remembering
seeing this before in her past. When you have control of Misaki
again, it might be a good idea to save. Now make your way up the
stairs. Once you reach the top, you will hear another nurse call
coming out of the office. Go into the office to check it out.

As soon as you take a step or two forward, the nurse will appear.
No, this isn't a ghost for the list, even though it seems so at
first. She will come right after you from the get go, so quickly
take out your camera and charge it up. Try to get her in a fatal
frame combo to make short work of her. Once she is gone, go ahead
and take the call over at the intercom. You'll just hear some
crying and sniffling. Now we can leave out the office and pass
through the door in front of us.

You should now be in the OٓK KaOL. The first room that
you come to on your right will be Madoka's. Go ahead and go
inside.

There are some things for us to get in this first section of
the room. A blue ball should appear in front of you on the
table. Examine it. It's Madoka's diary. Once you have it, turn
right and go to the desk. You'll see two balls here, one on
top of the desk and another inside one of the
drawers of the desk. Examine them both. The one on top of the
desk is a letter to Madoka. The one in the drawer is the
equippable function for the camera. This will display how much
life a ghost has in the top left part of your screen. Once you
have these two items, examine the thing to the left of the desk
right before the door to the other half of the room. You will
see a cut scene. Once it's over, go into the connecting
room. You will see your filament turn red like it does when you
have a ghost list ghost appear.

GHOST LIST ALERT
Madoka will be sitting on her bed. Take her picture.

That seems simple enough. Now, before we go examine Madoka,
there are still a couple of things that we have to do. In the
left corner of the room, you'll see a blue ball. Go ahead and
examine it to find some red crystals. Now go over to Madoka so
that you're standing directly in front of her. Don't worry, she
doesn't bite.

DOLL ALERT
If you look up at the wall in front of you, you will find a doll
inside the clock. Go ahead and take its picture.

Once you have taken the picture of the doll, go ahead and
examine Madoka. That wasn't very nice of her to vanish like that.
Anyway, examine the blue ball that Madoka left behind on her bed.
It will be another diary talking about a girl named Ayako. We are
finished here, so you can go back to the other side of the room.

GHOST LIST ALERT
As soon as you walk through the doorway, Ayako will appear behind
you peering through the doorway. Turn around real quickly and take
her picture before she disappears.

Walk towards the table. You'll probably notice a blue ball in the
cardboard box in the back. Examine it. It will be Type 61 film,
yes!!! You definitely want to save this for now. Once you have the
film, go ahead and leave the room.

GHOST LIST ALERT
As soon as you open the door, you will see the nurse walking by.
Quickly take her picture before she leaves.

The nurse is leading the way so follow her.

GHOST LIST ALERT
As you turn to the right, you'll notice that your filament has
turned blue. There is a broken door on your right just a few
steps away from Madoka's room. Aim at the crack inside to take
the picture. This isn't a ghost that pops up, so you can take
your time with this one.

GHOST LIST ALERT
As you go a little bit further down the hall, you'll see the nurse
being dragged by Ayako to Ayako's room. Take out your camera and
take their picture. It might be a good time to save. If you feel
inclined to do so, just backtrack your way back out to the entrance
hall and save there and stock up on herbal medicine and Type 14
film if you need it. We have a fight coming up.

Well, there is only one place for us to go. Ayako is inviting us to
come play, and it would be rude of us to turn her down, so go down
the remainder of the hallway to Ayako's room and go through the
door.

Welcome to Ayako's room, the demented dollhouse from hell. Anyway,
as you take a couple steps into the room, you will go into an cut
scene.

Boss Fight Ayako
Alright, so it's time for us end Chapter 2 with a boss fight,
sort of. We now have to fight Ayako (what a brat). If you want,
go ahead and switch to Type 14 film. You don't want to waste the
Type 61 you picked up a few minutes ago. Why? Well, the answer is
simple. You can always exchange points for more Type 14 film, but
you can't for Type 61 (T_T), so go with the Type 14. Ayako likes to
fly around the room, so you should be looking around in the air for
her as well as the ground because she wall run up on you, too. She
likes to disappear all over the place, so you're going to have to
keep on your toes for this fight. As always, the Wii Remote is your
friend, so don't be afraid to shake the heck out of it to avoid
Ayako's attack, which might prove to be a lifesaver. Aim at Ayako
when she is flying towards you in the air or walking towards you
on the ground to charge up your camera. With a fully charged camera
and a 2-shot fatal frame combo with Type 14 film, you will be able
to put Ayako out of her misery. Once you have beaten her, you will
go into an cut scene. (and see the mysterious new girl in black).

Congratulations, you have cleared Chapter 2. Now we will meet our
last playable character in the next chapter. You will be asked if
you want to save your game and the pictures you have taken.

--------------------

iv. CHAPTER 3

--------------------

Before we start, I just thought it would be a good idea to say a
little bit about this character since I said something about the
girls. As we know so far, Marie, Tomoe, Madoka, Misaki, and Ruka
were the 5 girls kidnapped and taken to Rogetsu Island. Choushiro,
the name of character, was the detective who found and rescued the
girls. Okay, with that said, on to the walkthrough.

We start Chapter 3 with an cut scene. Ruka's mom tells Choushiro
that Ruka has gone to the island and asks him to go look for her.
With that said, we see Choushiro lying on the ground in front of
Haibara Hospital. This is very significant to the game, the fact
that he is laying outside of the hospital, but I won't spoil it
and give it away now. As we play through the game, just remember
that he was laying down there. As Choushiro comes to, he sees
Haibara walking into the hospital, Well, like all things good
about this game, we know what our job is going to be, and that
is to go after Haibara. Once you have control of Choushiro, go
ahead and go over to the door of the hospital. As you take a
couple of steps, you'll find Choushiro's ledger on the ground.
After reading through it, another explanation popup will appear
explaining about how Choushiro will make notes in his ledger as
you proceed through the game. As soon as you close the popup,
you'll find a tape recorder and a tape of Choushiro's
investigation. After getting the tape and tape recorder,
Choushiro will talk about how he thought the events of the past
were over, but since two of the girls have died, it isn't. You
will probably notice some words appear in the upper right part
of the screen. That's just Choushiro making a note in his ledger,
so you can ignore it and the ones that follow. Now you should be
back in control of Choushiro. It's time to go inside the hospital.
We can't do anything out here as of now, so go ahead and go inside.

As soon as we enter the hospital, there will be a brief cut scene
and a brief flashback with Ruka's mother again. By the way, her
name is Sayaka. She tells Choushiro to take the Spirit Flashlight
with him. While we're on the subject of the Spirit Flashlight, or
so I call it, I guess I will say a few things about it. Unlike
Misaki and Ruka who fight with cameras and film, Choushiro uses
the Spirit Flashlight (referred hereafter as Flashlight). The
Flashlight charges up with blue and red crystals like the
cameras do and there are even special enhancement lenses for it
as well. To use the Flashlight, press and hold the A Button to
charge it up so you can attack. Release the A Button when you
want to attack a ghost. Now, if you time your attacks, in other
words consecutively hit a ghost with charged shots from the
Flashlight, you will perform a chain, which is kind of like a
combo for the Flashlight and yields more points. In the bottom
right of your screen, you'll notice that the energy of the
Flashlight will deplete each time you power it up and use it.
While in Flashlight Mode, which is pretty much the same as camera
mode except you are using the Flashlight to attack, your energy
will not come back, so watch out for how much you have. The only
way to build your Flashlight's energy back up is to go out of
Flashlight mode.

So now we're back with Choushiro. This is going to be your first
time fighting with the Flashlight. It will also be your first
time fighting multiple ghosts at once, so don't let your guard
down. They are not hard. You just have to be careful of back
attacks or being surrounded. Just power up your shots and get
the ghosts to come in the light. You can shoot multiple ghosts
at once, so use that to your advantage. Oh yeah, one more thing
that you might have noticed. Ghosts have two phases, which I will
refer to as the face phase and no-face phase. Until now, we have
faced ghosts in the face phase, which is normal. However,
sometimes when you hit a ghost, and they don't die, they will
turn into the no-face phase, which really is a pain. The way they
attack might or might not change, but the biggest problem is once
in the no-face phase, they become a lot stronger and deal you a
lot more damage, and yes, it sucks!!! If you ever have a ghost
turn into a no-face, kill it as quick as you can and try not to
let it hit you, or you will go through your life items like water.

Now with that said, once you have put the beat down on all these
ghosts, you will get some goodies. You will get the enhancement
lens, which allows you to take pictures with your Flashlight like
the camera. All you have to do is select it and it will be
effective. Remember to deselect before you get into a fight. You
will also get the equippable function, which allows you to
choose 3 enhancement lenses to use at a given time, rather then
one. You can scroll through them in camera mode or flashlight
mode by pressing up or down on the +Control Pad of the Wii
Remote. Go ahead and select the lens. Just go to the menu
screen and scroll down to the .

If you check your map, you will find that we are in the
hospital's entrance hall (Da@K Jz[). To your left, you will
notice a blue ball has appeared next to the save. Go ahead and
examine it. It's herbal medicine. You can save if you want to.
I would recommend doing so because we will have some ghost list
ghosts appearing shortly and if you miss one, you can easily
reset and try again. Now if you turn back around, a blue ball
should have appeared on the counter of the reception desk. Go
over there and examine it. It is a file. Now turn around and
look to the left. There should be a ball glowing on one of the
benches in the middle of the room. Go ahead and examine it. It
will be some red crystals. Once you have the crystals, go ahead
and take a few steps forward. When you do, Choushiro will have
a flashback of when he used the elevator to go down to a hidden
place where he found Ruka and the others. By the way, the girl
ghost says, "Are you sick, too?" Once you have control of
Choushiro again, there is only one thing to do: follow the
ghost. Head up the stairs and go to the second floor.

Once you reach the second floor, you'll hear a girl crying
behind a door. Hmm, this game sure likes to point out the
obvious. Before going through the door, head all the way to
the right and turn left. A blue ball should appear at the dead
end corner. It will be a blue crystal. After getting it, go
ahead and go in the door where you heard the girl crying.

You will now be in the Da@K tl. First turn to your right.
You'll notice that a blue ball will appear in the book case.
Examine it to get another notebook then turn around. You'll
notice that there is a glass window on to the right of you.

DOLL ALERT
The doll will be sitting on the opposite side of the glass near
the to the next room door. Go into Flashlight mode and aim down
to take it's picture. If you are close enough to take the
picture, the beam of the flashlight will become purple. Go
ahead and take its picture to remove the dolls curse.

Now, if you turn around, you'll notice two balls behind you.
Go ahead and examine them both. One will be blue crystals and
one will be some records. Once you have them, go ahead and go
to the next room.

GHOST LIST ALERT
As soon as you enter the room, the little girl's ghost will
appear. Quickly go into Flashlight mode and take her picture.
I will just say this, it will be hard to determine where she's
at because with the flashlight, you don't have a viewfinder or
a blue ring or anything to tell you when you're aiming in the
right direction, so when taking a ghost picture with the
Flashlight, it's best to see where the ghost is before going
into Flashlight mode. Once you have the ghost in sight, go
into camera mode and fire away.

As you'll notice as you glance around, there is an inner room
of beds surrounded by an outer hall. Let's take care of the
inner room first. On the bed to your left, a blue ball should
appear. Examine it. It's some more red crystals. Now on the
bed where the ghost was next to is a blue ball as well. Go
ahead and examine it. It will be a diary. Now right in front
of you should be a doorway leading to the outer hall
surrounding the room. Go ahead and step out and go to your
left.

DOLL ALERT
As you walk around, you'll see a wheelchair with a doll
sitting on it. Go ahead and take its picture.

GHOST LIST ALERT
There will be a doorway with curtains hanging down in front
of it. Go ahead and step through it. The moment you do, you
will see the ghost of a doctor standing in front of you.
Take his picture before he disappears.

There will be a blue ball in the ashtray in front of where
the ghost was. Examine it. It will be a key. There will also
be a map of a hospital there with it (thank god). Now we
have a map of the entire hospital. In Fatal Frame IV
fashion, your map will automatically open showing you where
the key is to be used. We have to go back to the first floor,
so now we have to backtrack. Make your way back to the inner
room. A ghost will appear. She isn't difficult. About two
powered shots will do the trick. Once she is gone go ahead
and leave this room.

GHOST LIST ALERT
As soon as you walk through the door, there will be a ghost
standing on the opposite side of the glass of the window to
your left. Locate him and take his picture.

GHOST LIST ALERT
Now, to the right of you is a sink with a broken mirror.
Walk up to it. The doctors ghost will appear in mirror.
Take his picture.

Now you can leave out this room and go back downstairs to
the first floor.

GHOST LIST ALERT
As soon as get to the bottom of the stairs, a ghost will appear
walking through the hall. Quickly take out your Flashlight and
take his picture before he walks around the corner.

You'll notice that the phone is ringing over at the reception
desk. Go answer it. The voice on the other end will talk about
how nothing in the hospital has changed and that everything
keeps repeating itself (you might want to remember that for
later, too). Once back in control of Choushiro, it might be a
good idea to save real quick since we've taken some ghost shots
and have found a couple of dolls, too. Now go to the hall where
we saw the ghost and go through the door. If you don't know
where to go, look at your map and find the door with the key on
it and go through it.

You will now be in a hallway. As you go a little ways forward,
a blue ball will appear on one of the benches. Examine it to
find some blue crystals. Continue down the hall until you come
to another doorway with curtains. Walk through it. You will now
be in the Da@K p (prep room). As you take a few steps
in, you'll notice a blue ball on the sink. Examine it. It's
herbal medicine.

DOLL ALERT
You should also see the doll sitting in the vent right above the
sink in front of you. Take it's picture.

As you make your way over to the door, you will see a blue ball
appear on the ground. Examine it. It will be some red crystals.
You can also examine the locker right next to the ball. Go ahead
and do so. If you go and examine the area by the other locker,
you will find another newspaper clipping. With that done, go
ahead and go through the door.

You will now be in the Da@K@p (operating room). Proceed
ahead.

GHOST LIST ALERT
You'll notice that before you even turn the corner that ghosts
will appear, so quickly turn the corner, aim at them and take
their picture.

Before going over to the bed where the ghosts were at, run over
to the sink in the corner.

DOLL ALERT
Now turn around slowly to your left and look down at the floor.
You will see a doll sitting there. Take its picture.

Right behind you, a ball should appear. Examine it to find a
blue crystal. Now go over to the stretcher that the ghosts
appeared at and examine it. You will go into a cut scene. Once
it's over, a ghost will appear. She's easy. Once you've beaten
her, you will get the next part of the diary. Once you have
read through it, go back to the stretcher again. There will
be a blue ball here. Examine it. You will find some records
again. Once you read through them, you will see a ghost walk
through the door. Go through the door and into the next room.

GHOST LIST ALERT
Proceed into the room. Once you take a couple turns, a ghost will
appear in front of you over by the desk. It might be hard to see,
but look for the ghost and take his picture.

Before going over to the desk where the ghost was, you'll notice
a blue ball will appear in the shelf to the right of you. Examine
it to find a file about the ceremonial dance. You will go into a
cut scene where Choushiro collects his thoughts. He talks about
the dance being important to the people of this island, and
realizes that today is the day that the ceremonial dance is
supposed to take place. Once back in control of Choushiro, go
ahead and walk over to the blue ball on the desk and get the notes
there. You will also get a key. As always, the map is brought up
automatically showing us where to use the key at. However, we are
not yet finished with this room. On a tray to the left of you near
the door to the next room, another blue ball should have appeared.
Go ahead and examine it. It will be red crystals. Now turn around,
but don't move forward or anything. Right in front of you should
be a glass case.

DOLL ALERT
On the right side of the glass case, the broken side, you will see
a doll inside a bucket. Go up to it and take the picture. Now we
are ready to leave this room. Go ahead and do so.

You will be back in the operating room again. Go ahead and leave
here as well. As you come to the door, there will be a cut scene.
You will now have to fight the doctor. The doctor isn't really
that hard. He will flash a light that will temporarily blind you.
He might charge after you, too. Just charge your Flashlight and
follow his movements. He has a good deal of life so it might take
a minute or two to beat him. Once you do, you will get a file.
Read through it and leave this room.

You'll be back in the prep room. Go through the doorway with the
curtains and back out into the hallway. As you walk through, you
will be attacked by two ghosts, one in front of you and one from
the back. Don't you just love getting it from the front and the
back at the same time? Run forward through the first ghost. This
way, they will both be behind you. Go ahead and take them out with
your Flashlight. Keep running up and down the hallway to keep both
ghosts in front of you or behind you. This way, you won't have to
worry about back attacks that much.

You will now be back in the hospital entrance hall. There will be
a cut scene of Haibara taking the elevator down to some place we
haven't been to yet. Choushiro says that there is another way,
which is what we are going to search for now. You'll notice that
the phone is ringing again. Go ahead and answer it. The voice on
the phone talks about hearing a voice coming from a well. Once
you hang up the phone, you will be attacked by two ghosts. Don't
worry. You won't even work up a sweat. Chances are, they won't
even get a chance to attack you. They are really easy to beat.
Try to hit them both at once. Once they're gone, go ahead and
save, which I would recommend, and make your way to the area past
the reception desk. If you don't know where to go, just bring up
your map and look for the door with the key on it and head there.

You should now be in the Da@K f@.

DOLL ALERT
Upon entering the room, turn directly to your right. Sitting on
a bench in the corner is the doll. Take its picture.

Now turn around and walk to the little bed area right in front
of you. A blue ball should appear on the desk. Examine it. You
will get a tape and a binder with notes. As you make your way to
the other end of the room, you'll realize that there are two doors.
Hmm, which one should you choose? Well, fear not. I'm here with
you and will make the choice for you. Go to the door on your right
first. This will take you to the reception desk.

GHOST LIST ALERT
You should now be in the Da@K@t. As soon as you walk through
the door, a ghost will appear to your left. Take your Flashlight
out and take its picture.

Doll ALERT
Right in the right side of the room is a doll sitting on the
counter. Go ahead and take its picture.

Now there should be some blue balls in the room. Go ahead and
examine them. One will be herbal medicine, one will be sacred
water, and one will be half of a key we will need in a few
minutes. Once you have gotten everything, go ahead and leave this
room.

Well, there is only one thing left for us to do, and that's go
to the other room that's right in front of us.

GHOST LIST ALERT
You should now be in the Da@K@JeǗ. As soon as you walk
through the door, a ghost will appear. It might be hard to see at
first, but he is in the room to the left of you. You don't have
long to shoot him, so find him quickly and take his picture before
he disappears.

As you proceed down the hall and come to the doorway, you're hear
a beep from the intercom. Go examine it. You might have to examine
the blue ball that is in front of the intercom first in order to
be able to examine the intercom itself. You'll hear a voice say
something about something being on the desk. Once that's over,
you'll be attacked from behind by the doctor again. Nothing new.
We've dealt with him before and we'll deal with him again. Go ahead
and take him out. Once he is beaten, go to the little room behind
the one that you're currently in. You should see a blue ball to the
left of you. Examine it. It's a box. It takes two keys, one which
we found at the reception desk and another which we are about to
find in a few minutes. Now turn around.

DOLL ALERT
You should see a desk behind you. To the left of it sitting on top
of the step ladder is the doll. Take its picture.

You might've noticed that another ball appeared in the shelf next
to you. Examine it. It will be some blue crystals. We're done here.
Go back to the hall and open the door to proceed to the next area.

We will once again be in a long hallway. As you start to go down
it, a ball should appear on a stretcher. Examine it. It's some red
crystals. There will be a room to the left. Before trying to go
into it, keep going straight and go down the stairs. Choushiro will
say that there has to be another way.

GHOST LIST ALERT
As soon as he finishes saying it, a ghost will appear in front of
you on the opposite side. Take his picture.

Now wait around for a sec or two and a ball will appear on a
stretcher on the opposite side of the gate. Go ahead and examine
it. It will be the second key that we need for the box as well as
a set of numbers that we will need to solve the next puzzle. Now
turn around, but don't move your character.

DOLL ALERT
Right behind you on the floor is a doll, but it is so perfectly
hidden that you'll only see it if you are plastered in the corner
of the wall and gate where you reached out to get the second key.
Look down in front of you and take its picture.

With that taken care of, we can go back up the stairs and into
the room we passed earlier.

GHOST LIST ALERT
As soon as you open the door, a ghost will appear and walk past
you. Go ahead and take his picture before he walks away.

You should now be in the Da@K@@ (hospital director's room).
Thanks to the ghost, we now know where we have to go. First start
by going forward all the way to the end of the bookshelf next to
the desk.

DOLL ALERT
At the last bookshelf at the very bottom, you will find a doll
sitting inside of a cardboard box. Take its picture.

You might have noticed, but a ball has appeared behind you on
the shelf. Go ahead and examine it. It's some blue crystals.
Now turn around and walk to the other shelf behind you past
the little table. A blue ball should appear. Examine it to find
another notebook. Now go behind the desk and examine it. We will
now have to input the code to the numbers we found earlier. This
might be a tough one to figure out for those who don't know
Japanese, so I will just give the answer. The number is 276.
Once you put the numbers in, press the circular button. This
will open up the secret passage behind the bookcase that the
ghost went in earlier. Go over and examine the bookcase. It
turns out to be a door. Go ahead and go through it and go down
the hidden stairs.

As soon as you reach the bottom, you will be attacked by a
ghost. He isn't hard at all. You will notice that there are 3
balls in this room: one under the stairs we just came down,
one at the desk to the right side of the bed, and one on the
table to the left side of the bed. Go ahead and examine them.
One will be a binder with notes, one will be blue crystals,
and one will be something else. I'll let you have fun with
that one.

DOLL ALERT
Under the stairs right next to where the ball was is a cardboard
box. There is a doll inside it. Take its picture.

If you want a memo to be added to Choushiro's ledger, go ahead
and examine the device that's on top of the bed. Once you're
done, you can leave out this room and go down the next set of
stairs.

You will now be in the Da@nK n (old underground
passage). You'll notice that once you reach the bottom the
item filament will be blue. You might have to walk around or
wait a minute or two, but right at the bottom of the steps near
the dead end to your left is the j lens for our Flashlight.
This will let you do a powerful attack. Once you have the lens,
go ahead and go down the path. Open the door at the end. You will
have a little cut scene where Choushiro talks about how he
came down the elevator in the past and found the girls. In the
cut scene, he walks over to Ruka and tells her that he was sent
to find her by her mother. Once the cut scene ends, Chapter 3 is
complete. Congratulations. As always, you will be given an option
of saving your game and saving your pictures.

--------------------

v. CHAPTER 4

--------------------

Before Chapter 4 starts, we will get a summary of what has
happened in Chapter 1. You will then be welcomed by a cut scene
of when Ruka was a child. Once we have control of Ruka, you'll
notice that we're in the OوK (archives) where we fought
Madoka. It's been a while since we've last seen Ruka, but it's
nice to know she's still alive and kicking.

Well, if you go to the corner where Madoka was in, you will notice
a blue ball on the floor. Go ahead and examine it. It will be the
5th memo of Madoka. If you turn to your left and look down the way,
you will see another ball on the floor. Go ahead and examine that
one, too. It will be some blue crystals. With all that taken care
of, there is nothing left here for us to do. Go ahead and leave
this room.

There is nothing important in this room, so you can leave out this
one, too.

GHOST LIST ALERT
As soon as you open the door to leave, you will see the nurse
walking by. Quickly take out your camera and take her picture
before she walks away.

Well, the nurse was kind enough to show us where to go, so we
should follow her. Turn right and go through the door.

Once again, we will be at the OوK փz[ (entrance hall).

GHOST LIST ALERT
Once you walk past the reception desk and turn towards the stairs,
you will see the ghost of the nurse (again) walking up the stairs.
Take her picture.

It would be rude of us to ignore her invitation so make your way
up the stairs.

GHOST LIST ALERT
Once you get up the stairs and make your way over to the office,
you will see the ghost of the nurse (again) outside of the door.
Quickly take her picture.

After that, go ahead and go into the office.

GHOST LIST ALERT
Once you open the office door and step inside, you will see the
ghost of the nurse (again) in front of the controls to the PA
system.

Go over there and turn off that irritating music. You will get
an option that pops up when you examine it. Press A to turn the
music off and get another notebook. As soon as you take a few
steps, there will be a nurse call. Go ahead and examine the
intercom. The nurse call is coming from Ayako's room (oh great,
just what we need). She says that her toy has broken again and
that she wants us to bring her a new one. As soon as that is
finished, the nurse will appear saying "Not her again." Go ahead
and deliver the smack down on the nurse. Anything stronger than
Type 07 film would be uncivilized, so don't waste the powerful
film (trust me, a little later YOU'RE GOING TO NEED IT!!!!).
Once the nurse has received her sweet justice, you will get a
note. There is nothing left for us in this room so go ahead and
leave.

Now before going to see the hellish brat, it might be wise to
save your game, get healing items, or Type 14 film, if you don't
have any (you should have plenty by now if you haven't been
using it). As you make your way to the steps, you'll hear the
phone ring. I wonder who it could be... Well, let's do like any
other responsible person would do and answer the phone. Make
your way down the steps and answer the phone on the counter of
the reception desk. With that settled, save your game and then
let's go back up the stairs and out the door in front of the
second floor office so we can go to Ayako's room.

Once through the door you will be back in the hallway with all
the rooms. Before going to Ayako's room, let's make a pit stop
at Madoka's room. In the second half of the room where Ayako was
sitting on the bed, there should be a blue ball in the dresser.
Go ahead and examine it to find Madoka's ledger. Go ahead and
leave Madoka's room. (Note: If you didn't get the Type 61 film
earlier with Misaki, then it should still be on the cardboard
box to the left of the chair by the table.

Alright, now it's time to go back to Ayako's room, so go head
and go there. If you have forgotten, it's OٓK@u207vq
on your map.

GHOST LIST ALERT
As soon as you take a few steps in the room, Ayako will appear
at the small door at the far end of the room. Take your camera
out and take her picture.

As you can see, there are balls scattered throughout the room.
Go ahead and examine all 3 of them. One will be the mirror
stone, which will bring you back to life if you die. Unless you
died with Ruka once in Chapter 1 (which I highly doubt) then you
won't be able to pick up this item. Just remember it in the future
in case you do die. Another ball will be blue crystals. The other
ball will be Ayako's medical records. Now another blue ball might
have appeared on the table right by the small door Ayako was
standing at. Go ahead and examine that. Now turn around and go to
the shelf behind you. There are some screens in front of part of
shelf blocking it off, but the right side of the shelf is open
somewhat. Walk up to that part of the shelf and turn a little bit
to the left.

DOLL ALERT
The doll will be sitting behind a bigger doll on the shelf. Don't
worry about the big doll. That's not our target. Aim at the
little doll and take its picture.

With that taken care of, go ahead and open the small door. Oh
great, that little pest finally decided to show herself. Well,
we spanked her once and we can do it again. You might want to
switch to Type 14 film on this one because she has a good amount
of life. Her attacks haven't changed from when we previously
fought her. Again, go for a fatal frame combo and you should be
able to take her out doing one or two fatal frame combos,
depending on how you have raised the stats on your camera.
With her out of the way, open up the small door and go to the
next room.

As you enter the room, you'll notice a wooden horse in the corner
with a ball on it. Go ahead and examine it. You will get a sheet
of music and a black ledger. Alright, now it's time for some fun.
I'm sure you're wondering what's behind that big curtain covering
the bed, so walk up to it but don't examine it just yet.

DOLL ALERT
When you are in front of the bed, look up and to the right at the
ceiling. You'll see a doll sitting up there on one of the beams of
wood right below the small door where you entered. Go ahead and
take its picture.

GHOST LIST ALERT
Alright, now it's time to examine the curtain. Get ready to take a
ghost picture of Ayako on the bed. You don't have much time, so
you're going to have to be quick.

Once you have your picture, you're free to leave this room. The
other door is locked, so now we have to backtrack. We have to go
back to the OوK H (dining hall).

There is nothing left for us to do in Ayako's room, so go ahead
and leave this room, too. Navigate your way back through the hall
and work your way back to the save in the entrance hall. I would
suggest saving right now since we have added new ghosts and dolls
to our list. Once you have saved your game, go ahead and go through
the door located to the right of the stairs.

GHOST LIST ALERT
As soon as you walk through the door, a ghost will appear (again)
outside of the window. Go ahead and take her picture.

Continue down the hall until you reach the door leading to the
dining hall. A blue ball will appear. Go ahead and examine it to
get some more red crystals. Now go through the door.

Walk forward towards the projector. On the round counter behind it,
you'll see a blue ball appear. Examine it to get some blue crystals.
Hmm, the game is giving us a lot of crystals lately. Well, in about
a minute or two, you are going to need them for probably the
toughest battle we will have thus far. Anyway, walk over to the
table and examine it. You are going to have to play the music you
found earlier using the Wii Remote. This whole play the piano thing
is a recurring theme throughout the game, so if you don't like it,
all I can say is you better learn to like it because it's not going
away anytime fast. The piano will play the notes for us. When you
play, you must do it in a timely manner like the demo shows. If you
go too fast, too slow, or skip a note, it wonft work. Once you play
the correct melody, you will have a brief cut scene.

By playing the song, Ruka realized that she used to ride the
elevator. That can only mean one thing: we have to go to the
elevator. Lucky for us, it's the door behind us. Go ahead and go
through it.

As soon as we pass through the door to the elevator hall, a cut
scene takes place.

GHOST LIST ALERT
Hey, isn't that the lady in black that we just took a picture of?
Yes, it is. You will have a chance to take a ghost picture here.
As soon as she comes out of the elevator, take her picture before
she disappears.

I would recommend saving now. She can only mean one thing...and
yes, you're correct. You're getting ready to have one heck of a
battle in about 2 minutes. Save your game, get Type 14 film if you
need it, and get healing items if you need it. This is the battle
that I have been alluding to in all the previous chapters, so I
hope you're good at avoiding attacks with the Wii Remote. If
you're not, you will be by the end of this battle. After you save
the game, all you have to do is follow the ghost. She will lead
the way. Anyway, as you make your way to the save, you'll notice
two balls, one on the bench and one in front of the elevator.
The one on the bench is red crystals and the one in front of
the elevator is the lady in black's letter. Once you have
saved, continue down the hall.

GHOST LIST ALERT
The lady in black will appear again right before the hall a
little bit past the save point. Quickly take out your camera
and take her picture.

Now, this is really going to suck, but there is no other way
to do this. Turn around and backtrack all the way to the
entrance hall. Yep, that's right. We have to go all the way
back around. Don't follow after the lady in black by going
down the hallway in front of you. If you do, you won't be
able to get your next ghost list photo, so turn around, go
back through the dining hall, to the hallway, and out to
the OوK փz[ (entrance hall).

At the entrance hall, go ahead and save, in case you miss
the ghost shot and in case you die. Walk through the door
behind the reception desk. This will bring you back to the
hall way, but this time, you will be able to take a picture
of the lady in black as she goes to the courtyard door. If
you had come in from the back, from behind the lady, she
would vanish before you could even take out your camera.

GHOST LIST ALERT
As you proceed down the hall, the lady in black will appear
in front of you moving to the door on the right. Take her
picture before she's gone.

Now there is only one thing to do. Go into the courtyard.

Once you're in the courtyard, you can't leave until after
the fight. Once inside the courtyard, start off by going
to the right and examining the blue ball in the bushes there.
You will get the x special enhancement lens. This is used for
temporarily slowing the movements of a ghost. Once you have
the lens, go back and follow the trail, which will lead you
to the wheelchair stationed in front of the pool.

GHOST LIST ALERT
You have all the time in the world for this one. Just take a
picture of the ghost sitting in the wheelchair.

Don't worry, it doesn't bite. You can walk straight up to it
and it won't do anything to do. As long as you don't examine
it, it's just there soaking in the moonlight. We don't want
to examine it just yet. There is a doll here that we can get.
Before we get it, look over to the left. You
should see two blows glowing on the grass area over there. Go
ahead and examine them. One is blue crystals and the other is
red crystals.

DOLL ALERT
Once you have the crystals, don't move. Look over at the
building to the left of the pool in front of you. Look up.
You should be able to see some broken wooden stairs. Below
the stairs is a window. Go to the window and aim your camera
at it. You should see a doll sitting there. Get its picture.

Say a prayer and examine the lady in black. You will see a
little cut scene. The lady in black tells you not to touch
her. With that, the battle begins.

BOSS FIGHT Lady in Black
What you'll notice right away is that there are two, not one
of them. If you look at both of them, you'll notice that one
is wearing a hat and floating around and the other is walking
around dementedly (without a hat). They also like to do
surprise attacks and disappear all over the place. You can
win this battle two ways. You can either take out the lady
with the hat, which in turn will end the battle, or you can
take out the demented lady first and then go for the lady with
the hat. If you find that it's hard to take out the lady in the
hat without getting attacked from behind by the demented lady,
I would suggest attacking the demented ghost first. She's the
one that will come after you the most. You can slow them down
using the lens we just got and earn yourself a little time to
attack or you can go all out guerilla tactics of hit and run.
Remember, the Wii Remote is our friend and you can use it to
avoid all the attacks. Once you have beaten the demented ghost,
you can sigh in relief...a little bit. She is the attacker of
the two. With her demented self out of the way, the lady in
black will now come after you more than she used to. She is
easy to beat when she doesn't have her girl to back her up.
Just wait for the fatal frame and take her out with a couple of
combos and a power shot at the end. For this fight, you want to
use Type 14 film. Remember, you have a stone if you should die
(hopefully you won't).

Once you beat her, she will drop a key, so go pick it up. Your
map will open showing you where to use it. Once you close the
map, get ready for a cut scene.

Oh no, it's a grey screen, which can only mean one thing...run
like heck! Anyone familiar with previous fatal frame games will
know that grey screens appear frequently. Well, once you get
control of Ruka, quickly backtrack and leave this place. By the
way, the name of the faceless girl coming after you Sakuya. Run
out of this room and everything will be fine.

Now you will be back in the hall. Once leaving the garden, you
can go back in and Sakuya will be gone, but there is nothing we
can do here. The door to the basement where Sakuya came from is
locked and we have to go and open it from a different way.
(However, if you did lose your mirror stone during the fight,
if you walk back into the garden and walk under the canopy,
there will be another mirror stone that appears. You could even
walk all the way back to Ayako's room and get the one there.)
If you look at the masks to the left of the door and wait a
bit, you will find Type 61 film in one of the masks. With that
done, go right and into the elevator hall. I would suggest
saving, so you don't have to do that fight again and to save
the doll and ghosts we've pictured. Now walk over to the
elevator and go inside it. Try pressing the buttons to move
the elevator. Odd, nothing happens. Well, Ruka being the
intuitive girl that she is, realizes that the elevator has no
power. You will find a note in the elevator telling you what
you have to do and a map of the basement area. With that done,
go through the door in front of the save. point. If you don't
know which door, look at your map and find the door with the
key by it.

You should now be in the OوK u (storage room). As you
walk around the bend, you'll notice a ball on one of the
shelves. Examine it to get some more Type 61 film. Once you
have it, slowly take the stairs down.

DOLL ALERT
When you come to the last shelf just before reaching the bottom
of the stairs, take out your camera and aim for the right corner.
Next to a cardboard box, there will be a doll with its head in
its lap. Go ahead and take its picture.

At the bottom, you will eventually come to a fork. Don't go
left for now. Turn right at the corner and follow the hall down
to the door and go through it.

You will now be in a room with a grated floor and water
underneath you. Go ahead and examine the door on the other side.
This is the door that was locked from the courtyard. Once you
examine the door, you will unlock it and be able to access this
basement area from either the courtyard or storage room. Now
before backtracking to the other door I told you to skip, turn
around and examine the shelf behind you. There should be a blue
ball there. It's sacred water.

DOLL ALERT
Now take out your camera and aim down and somewhat to the left.
You should see some bags next to the shelf. Underneath the bags
past the grate and in the water is your doll. Take its picture
and backtrack to the door I told you to pass earlier and this
time go through it.

You should now be in the OْnK@zd (electric room). We have
to give power back to the elevator. First go over to the desk in
the right corner. A ball should appear. Examine it find the memo.
Now turn to your left and walk over to the shelf there with the
blue ball. It will be Type 14 film.

DOLL ALERT
Now turn to the left, take out your camera and aim up. You will
find a doll on top of a pole near the ceiling. Take its picture.

With that done, go examine the ball that just appeared in front
of us on the floor underneath where the doll was at. It will be
some blue crystals. Once you're done, move over to the breaker
to the left of you. The note that we found in the elevator said
we have to switch the breakers so they read 23. For those
wanting to figure it out on their own, skip to the next
paragraph. For those who want the quick way up flip the
breakers so they read: Up Up Down Down Up.

GHOST LIST ALERT
The moment the power is restored, a ghost will appear behind
you. Quickly turn around and take his picture before he walks
through the door.

Well, the ghost is leading us on, so go ahead and walk through
the door.

GHOST LIST ALERT
You should now be in the OْnK@Pqm. As you proceed down the
room, a ghost will appear when you get close to turning the
corner. Quickly run past the corner, take out our camera, and
aim a little ways down.

DOLL ALERT
With the ghost gone, take out your camera and slowly walk down
the stairs. You should see a doll sitting on a wooden beam
again near the ceiling. Take its picture.

With that done, continue the rest of the way down the stairs.
Next to the door, a blue ball should appear. It will be the
enhancement lens. As stated above, this will temporarily boost
your camera's power. For now, our business with this room is
done. Go ahead and leave this room. Oh no, it looks like the
door is locked. Guess it can only mean one thing... As soon as
you scroll past Ruka saying the door is locked, a ghost will
appear. It's time to take out the trash again. He isn't hard.
Once you beat him, you will get a book. Read through it and go
back to the door. When you go through it, get ready to run like
heck because you're going to have to run the rest of the way
out back to the elevator hall.

You will be back in the electric room where we gave power back
to the elevator. As soon as you try to leave the room... Uh-oh,
the grey screen of death and Sakuya. This can only mean one thing,
get the heck out of there. Once you leave out the electric room,
immediately turn right and work your way back up the steps until
you reach the storage room and then walk out the door.

You made it. Thank goodness. You will be back in the elevator
hall again. Go ahead and save your game, etc., then go inside
the elevator.

GHOST LIST ALERT
The second you walk in, a ghost will appear in front of you.
Quickly take out your camera and take its picture.

Now take the elevator up to the 3rd floor. As you will see,
there is a save right next to the elevator on the 3rd floor.
If you want to save again, feel free to do so. Now, as you
survey the area you see we have to ways to go. The door to
the left of us leads to the 3rd floor office. If you look
over to the right, you'll see we can't get to the door over
there because someone has conveniently left a red wheelchair
there to block our way. (Hmm, I wonder who that could've
been...) Before going to the 3rd floor office, which is the
door to the left of the elevator, walk over to the stairs.

DOLL ALERT
Walk about half way down the stairs and turn to the left.
You'll notice a doll sitting on the floor next to the stairs.
Take its picture.

Once that's taken care of, go ahead and turn around and go
through the door to the office.

GHOST LIST ALERT
You should now be in the OَOK@OKǗ [H. You'll notice
that the entrance to the office is to your left. As soon as
you walk in, a ghost of a nurse will appear. She'll be
sitting in a chair, so you'll have to aim down slightly to
get her picture.

Once you have the picture, you'll notice that a ball will
appear on the desk to the far left. Go ahead and examine it
to get a map of the 3rd floor, which explains the rooms of
the people who stayed on this floor, one being Ruka and the
other Misaki. Now examine the intercom which should also be
right there in front of you. A little while ago, we received
found a file that had the code to unlock the door to the next
room. For those of you who remember the red numbers, go ahead
and put them in. For those of you who have forgotten, that's
quite all right. I will intervene on your behalf. The number
is 1956.

GHOST LIST ALERT
The moment you input the number, the nurse will appear behind
you walking through the door. Quickly turn around and shoot
through the window to get her picture.

With that done, we can leave the office, but not the room.

DOLL ALERT
You'll notice that right next to the office entrance is a
locker. Walk all the way over so that you are against the
corner of the wall and take out your camera and aim above the
locker. The doll will be sitting behind the cardboard box.

You'll notice that there are two blue balls on the benches in
front of the office. Go ahead and examine them. One is Type 14
film and the other is red crystals. If you have been using Type
07 film (except for the boss battles) you should have a nice
little stash of Type 14 film now.

Go ahead an open the door in front of you to conclude the
chapter. Ruka, in a cut scene, will talk about how everything
seems familiar to her and this chapter will end.
Congratulations, you have made it through Chapter 4. You will
be given the choice of saving your game and saving your pictures.

--------------------

vi. CHAPTER 5

--------------------

Once again, we have a little summary of Misaki's exploits in
Chapter 2.

We will be back with Misaki in Ayako's room. Once back in
control of Misaki, if you haven't gotten it yet, now might be
a good time to get the mirror crystal that we left behind
earlier. It's still over there, unless you died earlier in the
game and came back to this room to get it. If you haven't, go
ahead and get it. You'll also notice that a ball will appear
on Ayako's bed. Go ahead and examine it. You'll get some blue
crystals. Another blue ball should have appeared somewhere else
on the bed by now. Go ahead and examine it. It will be Ayako's
memo. For those of you who can read Japanese, you'll read just
how disturbed Ayako is. I won't spoil it for you who can't read
because it will take all of the fun out of the American version.
Well, with that done, try leaving the room. You'll find that a
force is keeping you from opening the door.

GHOST LIST ALERT
As soon as you do try to leave out, once again, our mysterious
girl in black appears at the small door on the opposite side of
the room. When you have control of Misaki, quickly turn around
and take her picture before she disappears.

Well, thanks to the girl in black we now know where we have
to go. Don't you just love how all the ghosts lead us on.? Go
ahead and go to the small door on the other side of the room.

Now we're back in the other bedroom. I like to call it the
"Juon" room or "The Grudge" room. This is a little off track,
but how many of you are familiar with Japanese horror movies?
"Juon" or "The Grudge", as it was called in the American
release, has the exact same noise you hear in this room. It
sounds like someone is getting ready to scream out. Anyway,
enough of that. By the way, "Juon" is a good movie and I
would highly recommend it to anyone who likes scary Japanese
horror flicks. Getting back on topic now, you'll notice that
there is a ball on the bed. Go ahead and examine it. You'll
find a ripped piece of paper. Behind you, another ball should
appear bellow the light. You'll have to look up a bit.
Examine it to find some red crystals. With that out of the
way, go ahead and try to go through the door to the next
room. You won't be able to. A spiritual presence will appear
over the door. Take out your camera and take a picture of it.
A doll will appear. Hey, it's that big doll in Ayako's room.
So now that we know what we have to do, let's turn around
and go through the small door back to Ayako's room.

Walk over to the screens in front of the shelf up and over
to the right of you. You'll notice a blue ball is there on
the doll. Examine it. You will get the key. As soon as you
have the key, your map will automatically open and show you
where to use it. With the key in our possession, let's go
back through the small door again.

Go to the door and use the key to open it. Oh great, just
as you're about to do so, guess who shows up? Did you really
think that Ayako would let us go through her room without
coming out to play? There isn't that much space in this room
to fight her, but you should be able to beat her easily. Her
attacks haven't changed at all. If you want to, go ahead and
use Type 14 film and take her out with a fatal frame combo
or two (depending on how strong your camera is). Once she's
out of the way, go through the door.

You should now be in the OٓK Bꂽ (hidden room). As
soon as you enter, you will see two balls appear and
probably notice that your filament is blue, which signals
a ghost's presence somewhere in this room. Okay, first things
first. Examine the two balls over on the bed. One is a film
reel with a photo and a notebook and the other ball is
another black ledger.

DOLL ALERT
After picking up the second black ledger, go into camera
mode and back up. You will see a doll sitting on the floor
under the bed hiding under the sheets. Take its picture.
Congratulations, you have found all the dolls on the second
floor.

Now there is only one thing left for us to do here, and
that's take the ghost picture in this room, but right before
we do that, walk over to the shirt hanging on the wall by
the door where we came into this room. A ball should appear
there. It will be the x special enhancement lens for Misaki.
This will temporarily slow the movements of a ghost. We got
this lens earlier with Ruka right before fighting the Lady
in Black.

GHOST LIST ALERT
Now with that taken care of, follow the direction of your
filament. The ghost is where your filament shines the
brightest, which should be located at the brown box on top
of 3 cardboard boxes. If you don't get the blue ring, slowly
walk forward while aiming at the brown box until it shows
up. Go ahead and take the picture. Remember this brown box
for later.

With that done, go ahead and leave this room. Hmm, this
place looks familiar. Of course it does. You're right
outside the elevator on the 2nd floor. Great, this is
just where we need to be. Go ahead and walk down the stairs.

Now we're back at the 1st floor elevator hall. Go ahead and
save the game, which I would recommend since we've gotten
some dolls and ghost list ghosts. Once you have saved, turn
around and go to the door behind you. Before going through
the door, you'll notice that your item filament is blue.
Wait around for a blue ball to appear on the bench right
next to the door. Examine it to get some blue crystals.
Now go through the door.

You should now be back in the dining hall. You'll notice
that when you open the door, you will hear the sound the
proceeds every ghost list ghost, but in fact, this is not
a ghost shot. When you enter the dining hall, you will
see a whole bunch of shadowy figures sitting at the tables
for a second. As you enter, stay to the left like you did
when we first came in this room at the beginning of the
game. At the kitchen area where we found the ghost, a blue
ball will have appeared again. Examine it to get some red
crystals. Now go to the outer area around the tables. If
you don't understand what I mean, go back to the door
again. If you look to your right, you'll notice a small
area of tables cut off from the other tables. A blue ball
should be on the middle table. Examine it to get some blue
crystals. Now make your way over to the inner area again
and go over to the projector and watch the film that we
just found in the hidden room. Press A when given the
choice to watch the film. You will have a cut scene. Once
the scene is over, you'll be attack by Madoka, so be
prepared to fight her.

BOSS FIGHT Madoka
Well, she isn't a boss like she was in the first Chapter,
but for the sake of consistency, I'll just call her one.
She really hasn't changed as far as attacks. Go ahead and
use Type 14 film on her. You should be able to take her
out with one fatal frame 3 hit combo. Once she's beaten,
you will get Madoka's 6th memo. Basically, the memo tells
Misaki to go back to her room, and some other things,
which I won't spoil for you. Okay, I guess that can mean
only one thing: we have to go to the 3rd floor. Before
doing so, there is a ghost that we can take a picture of.
Leave out the door on the opposite side of the room (the
door we didn't come through).

GHOST LIST ALERT
You will be in the hallway that leads to the entrance hall,
which is not where we need to go. Just walk down the hall a
few steps and a ghost will appear behind you. Quickly turn
around and take his picture.

Once you have the picture, go back through the door you just
came through and go back inside the dining area. Walk over
to the opposite side of the room and go through the door,
which will lead back to the elevator hall.

GHOST LIST ALERT
As soon as you walk through the door and proceed a few steps,
the elevator door will open and the girl in black will be
inside. Quickly run up close enough to the elevator so you
can put her in your viewfinder and take her picture before
she disappears.

Go ahead and save the game if you want to, which might not
be a bad idea after having fought Madoka and collected two
more ghosts. If you need life items, Type 14 film, etc.,
go ahead and exchange your points if you have to. Once
you're finished, go ahead and enter the elevator and go to
the third floor.

Upon reaching the third floor, you'll see the lady in black
appear, but this is not a ghost shot opportunity, so you
don't have to worry about her. Now we're on the third floor.
Go ahead and walk down the stairs. A blue ball should appear
on the floor before you turn right to go to the next set of
stairs (which are blocked off). It will be red crystals.
Come back up the stairs and walk over to the bench next to
the save point. If it hasn't already, a blue ball should
appear on the bench. Examine it to get some blue crystals.
Now with all that done, go ahead and open the door and go
to the 3rd floor office.

Once you enter the room, you should hear and see blue balls
appear. One appeared in the office near the entrance and the
other appeared in front of the locker. The one in front of
the locker is red crystals and the one in the office is a
tape recorder and a cassette tape. Once you've got them, go
ahead and go to the next room.

A ball will appear to your left. Have fun with that one. It
will either be a ghost trying to grab you or blue crystals.
Continue walking down the hall and when you come to the left
turn, turn left, but don't proceed forward.

DOLL ALERT
Right to the left of you on the dresser is a doll. Take its
picture.

Walk all the way down the hall and examine the last door on
your right. That room is Misaki's. She'll realize that the
door is locked. A spiritual presence will appear over the
door. Take a picture of it with your camera to get your hint.
Hmm, the picture shows the red wheelchair that was blocking
our path to the other side of the third floor. Well, we have
to leave this hallway and go back out to where the wheelchair
is, so go ahead and backtrack out of the hallway.

GHOST LIST ALERT
As you get to the corner where we took the picture of the
doll, a group of girls will run past you. Quickly take their
picture before they disappear.

Go ahead and leave out this room. You will be back in the
office. Go ahead and leave out this room, too.

GHOST LIST ALERT
The second you open the door to the elevator area, the group
of girls will appear again by where the wheelchair once was.
Quickly take out your camera and take their picture before
they're gone.

Before going over there, it might be a good idea to save and
restock on items if you need it. Once you're done, go ahead
and make your way to the door that the wheelchair was blocking.

You should now be in the OَOK OKaւ̘L.

DOLL ALERT
If you look down the hall, you'll notice that there are four
windows. The doll will be on the top of the third window, so
as you get close to it, take out your camera and aim up to
take its picture.

Once you've taken the picture, go down the hall and go
through the other door.

You will now be in the OَOK@OKaO.

GHOST LIST ALERT
As you proceed down the hall and get closer to the door at
the end of the hall, the girls will appear in front of the
door. Quickly take their picture before they vanish.

DOLL ALERT
Right in front of you on the wall is a little compartment
with the door wide open and a doll sitting inside. Take its
picture.

On the little table in the corner right before the door,
there should be a blue ball. Examine it to find Type 61 film.
Once you have it, go through the door to the next room.

You will now be in room OَOK@u311_Av瓰. You will notice
a blue ball in the wheelchair ahead of you, but don't go after
it just yet.

DOLL ALERT
Upon entering the room, go over to the right corner where the
roses are. The doll is in the roses. Take its picture.

Now go examine the blue ball in the red wheelchair next to
the casket. It will be the key to Misaki's room. As always,
your map will open up and show you where to use the key. For
a cool little Easter egg, go into camera mode and point your
camera at the face of the mannequin. Pretty creepy, huh? Anyway,
there are a few more things to do before leaving this room.
In the roses in front of you on the table, a blue ball appears.
When I examined it, it was a ghost trying to grab me, but it
might be different for you so go have at it. The game chooses
by random which items appear, so if at any time the item you get
(except for key items) doesn't match the one I'm getting, don't
worry. Now go ahead and step through the red curtain to move to
another section of the room you're in. Wow, look at all the
caskets. Examine each and every one of them. They all can only
be examined once, so don't worry if you don't know which one
you examined. You will find notes in two of the caskets. Once
you have them, go ahead and leave this area and head for the
door to leave out this room.

GHOST LIST ALERT
The door will be locked. The second you check it, the lady in
black will appear behind you. Take her picture.

Well, with the lady and black appearing and the red wheelchair
in the room, it's pretty obvious what's going to come next.
Switch over to Type 14 film and then walk over to the casket.
Well, it happened. Here comes the lady in black (the demented
one).

BOSS BATTLE Lady In Black (Demented)
Well, this is by far not a boss battle, but I have to keep
everything consistent. Like in the garden, the lady in black
walks dementedly after you. She will either walk after you or
make a dash at you, so be prepared. She will also disappear,
so keep your eye on your filament to find what direction she's
in. She really isn't that hard. Get her in a fatal frame combo
or two and she will be toast. You can even slow her down if you
want to since we have the slow lens. Remember, you can avoid
attacks by shaking your Wii Remote before the ghost attacks.
Once you've sent her back to Hades, go ahead and examine the
casket where it opened to get another letter. With that done,
we can now leave this dismal room. Good bye and good riddance.

Go ahead and backtrack your way through the halls and all the
way to the elevator area. Save the game, which would be a good
idea. Now before going to Misaki room, there are still more
ghosts left for us to get. Go into the elevator and go to the
second floor.

As you exit the elevator, you might find a ghost down there
waiting for you. Ghost fights are random so it might or might
not be the same for you. If it does show up, take him out. Open
your map. You will see that we have two doors that we can go
through. The one to the left of the elevator is the hidden room,
but we don't have to go back there. If you are in your map and
you look to the left, you will see two doors: one at the end of
the long hallway and one right before the hallway that we've
never entered before. Enter the door that's not at the end of
the long hallway first. It will take you to the courtyard
balcony.

GHOST LIST ALER
Once on the balcony, walk straight to the end of it. You'll
notice that your filament is going crazy. Aim where it shines
blue the brightest. You'll have to aim down some to get the
blue ring to appear in your viewfinder. When it does, take the
picture.

You can now leave this room and continue on to the door at the
end of the hall.

Once you open the door, you'll realize that you're in a
familiar area. That's right. This is the top of the stairs
right at the entrance hall. A ball will appear on the bench
in front of you to give you some more blue crystals. Now before
we go in the room past the office, go down the stairs in the
entrance hall.

GHOST LIST ALERT
As you go down, ghosts will appear near the doors down in front
of you. Quickly take out your camera and take their picture.

After taking their picture, head back up the stairs and make
your way to the door in front of the second floor office. You
should now be in the OٓK@aOL.

GHOST LIST ALERT
Just keep proceeding through the hallway until the ghost
appears. It will appear right in front of you, so when you are
back in control of Misaki, quickly take out your camera and
take her picture before she vanishes.

With this done, backtrack all the way back to the elevator hall
(OٓK KGx[^[z[ on your map). Take the elevator back to the
third floor and go to Misaki's room. If you've forgotten where
it is, look for the door with the key over it on your map and
go there.

DOLL ALERT
Once inside Misaki's room, go into camera mode and aim at the
trash can directly to the right of you on the floor. The doll
is inside, so take its picture.

Now walk all the way to the back end of the room to your left.
A ball should appear on the shelf to the left. Examine it to
find the special enhancement lens. This lens will
automatically aim you at the ghost closest to you when you use
it. To the right of you, another ball should have appeared on
a dresser. Go ahead and examine it to find the some research
notes. Once you have that, go back to Misaki's bed and examine
the little table next to it. It's a puzzle, but we need one
more piece. Once you have finished examining it, you will get
Misaki's medical file. A cut scene will begin. Once it ends,
you will be attacked by ghosts. One will be the nurse and the
other will be the doctor. I would consider them of medium
threat, so you might want to use Type 14 film for this one.
If you can, try to get them both at the same time. They like
to disappear and do back attacks, but just remember one thing:
shaking the Wii Remote means eternal life. This will
definitely help you. If you can, get the nurse first because
she will be the one attacking you the most. If you can get the
nurse in a fatal frame combo with the doctor in it as well,
you'll have a good chance of finishing them both off at once.
If not, take out the nurse first then go for the doctor. The
nurse and doctor both will make dashes at you from time to
time, so be careful. Once you have beaten them, you'll find
that the puzzle piece that we need is under Misaki's bed. Pick
it up and then examine the puzzle again. Now you have to solve
the puzzle. It's very simple. All you have to do is move the
pieces around so that all the fish match color for color. This
puzzle you will have to solve on your own, but it shouldn't
take that much time to figure it out. Once you have solved it,
you will get a key and a picture with a woman with no face
(Sakuya) standing next to Misaki when she was a girl. After
that, a cut scene will begin showing you Sakuya for the first
time and that will be the end of this chapter. Congratulations,
you have made it through Chapter 5. You will be given the
option of saving your game and saving your pictures.

--------------------

vii. CHAPTER 6

--------------------

We start right back where we left off with Ruka. She is still
in front of her room. Try opening the door. It's looked. A
spiritual presence will appear over the door. Take a picture
of it with your camera to get your hint. It's a weird picture
of 5 maidens. Hmm, we haven't seen that picture before. Never
fear, when in doubt follow ghosts.

GHOST LIST ALERT
When you try proceeding further down the hall, a ghost of a
man walking to the gallery will appear. Take his picture
before he walks off the screen.

Well, the ghost came to show us the way and it would be rude
of us not to follow, so follow after the ghost and go through
the door.

You are now in the OَOK M[ (gallery).

DOLL ALERT
As soon as you enter the room, look to your right. You will
see a painting that has fallen over. On the floor behind it
is the doll. Go over to it and take its picture.

Now turn around and walk all the way down the gallery. At
the end, you'll see a painting with a spiritual presence
over it. Take a picture of it. A ball will appear in front
of it. Go ahead and examine it. It's the key to Ruka's room.
Your map will automatically open up and show you where to
use the key. To the left of where you are in the corner,
another ball will appear. Examine it to get some blue
crystals. With that finished, go ahead and leave the gallery.
Uh-oh, the door is locked. That can only mean one thing...
The ghost will appear behind you again going through the other
door. No, this isn't a ghost list shot so you don't have to
worry about it. He's just leading the way.

GHOST LIST ALERT
As soon as you open the door, you will see him on the floor
on top of a painting. When you get control of Ruka, take out
your camera and take his picture.

Okay, there are other things to do in this room, but let's
get our next ghost photo first.

GHOST LIST ALERT
Enter into the room. Walk over to the door to your left.
Once you're in front of it, the man will appear again behind
you laying on the painting on the floor. Turn around and
quickly take his picture.

DOLL ALERT
Right to the left of you, you should see curtains hanging
down. Go through them. You will see a bathtub covered in
paint. In front of it on the floor is the doll. Take its
picture.

Leave the tub. On table right in front of the painting on
the floor, you will find a ball. Examine it to get some
notes. Now look behind you. There should be a ball on the
floor. Examine it to find some blue crystals. With that
done, you're now ready to leave this room, so go ahead
and walk out the door.

You will be right in front of Ruka's room. Go ahead and
use the key to go inside.

As soon as you enter the room, you'll notice that a blue
ball appears in the bookcase to your left. It's a tape.

GHOST LIST ALERT
If you take a few steps forward, you'll see a ghost of a
young girl playing the piano. Go ahead and take her
picture.

Go ahead and walk past the piano and over to the bed.
You'll see a brief cut scene with Ruka. Look over at the
wall beside the bed. You'll see some windows. At the foot
of the bed, you'll see a small space and a blue ball on
the edge of the bookcase. Ignore the ball for now, but go
in that small space. You should now be next to the window.
Take out your camera.

DOLL ALERT
On the right side of the bed in the tiny space between the
bed and the windows you'll find the doll sitting on the
floor, so aim down to take its picture. Congratulations,
you have all the dolls on the third floor.

With that done, go ahead and examine the blue ball behind
you. It will be some red crystals. Now go and examine the
bed. Ruka will say that she used to sleep here. Now a ball
will appear at the top of the bed. Go ahead and examine it.
You will find Ruka's first diary. With that done, try
leaving the room. You will hear a melody come from a music
box. It's the music box in the bookcase right next to the
piano. Go over and examine it. Ruka will notice that one
of the cogs are missing. With that said, a spiritual
presence will appear over the music box. Take a picture of
it to get your hint. Hmm, you will see a cog inside a
cradle. Where have we seen that cradle before...? The
answer is Misaki's room. Well, I guess that leaves only
one thing to do. Let's go over to Misaki's room down the
hall. Go ahead and leave this room.

Walk down the hall to your right to reach Misaki's room at
the end and go inside.

Once inside, go over to the cradle and examine the blue
ball inside to find the small cog. You'll notice that a
ball appeared at the end of Misaki's bed. Examine it. It
might be an item or it might be a hand. I got a hand. Once
you're finished, go over to the far back of the room.
You'll hear the voice of a girl talking over the stone
radio on the dresser there. Go over and examine it again
to hear a little bit more. With that done, go ahead and
leave this room. You didn't think it was going to be that
easy, did you? Once you get close to the door, the doctor
decides to come have some fun with Ruka. Take the mad
scientist down and leave this room.

Head back over to Ruka's room.

Once inside, go back to the music box and examine it again.
Now you will have the cog puzzle. Basically, you have to
arrange the cogs so that they all move. There is only one
moving cog, so you pretty much have to piece them all
together until they all move. I will let you take care of
this puzzle, too, since it's not really hard. Just connect
the cogs. Only the light brown ones can be move, which
means you can move the two big ones and the three small
ones. It should only take a minute to figure it out. With
that done, go examine the piano. Yes, you have to play the
song again, and this time there are more notes, so watch
closely. The first time you will see a demo of what you
have to play. The next time, you have to play it. Remember,
you have to keep to the rhythm. If you go too fast or too
slow, it won't count. Just relax and take your time. Once
you complete it, you will have a cut scene with Ruka
remembering the past when she used to play the piano as a
girl. You'll see her mom, too, complimenting her. When the
cut scene ends, you will be...in the past.

Okay, you are in the past...sort of. You will notice that
the screen has a green haze to it. Now there are some ghost
shots coming up, so be prepared. You'll probably notice that
next to Ruka's bed is a blue ball. Examine it to find Ruka's
second diary. Once you have it, go ahead and leave her room.

Walk out into the hall and go to Sayaka's (Ruka's mother's)
room. You'll know which one it is because you will see her
go into it.

GHOST LIST ALERT
As soon as you open her door to go inside, Sayaka's ghost
will appear standing at the window in front of you. Take
out your camera and take her picture.

Once you've taken it, you'll notice a ball has appeared
where she was standing. Examine it to find Sayaka's first
diary. There is also a ball at her bed. Go over there and
examine it to find Sayaka's second diary. With that done,
go ahead and leave Sayaka's room. Continue down the hall
and go down the steps and down that hall until you reach
the only room that you can go to.

Enter the room. Make your way to the room on the other side.

GHOST LIST ALERT
As soon as you enter the room, a ghost will appear out the
window to the left of you. Quickly turn toward it and take
the picture.

Now examine the blue ball on the table in front of you to
get a picture of a man in a mask. That's Ruka's father.
Once you have it, you will have a cut scene of Ruka's
father making the mask. When the scene is over, you will
be back to the present day Ruka.

GHOST LIST ALERT
Once you return from Ruka's past memories and try to take
a step away from bed area, Ruka's mother will appear
sitting in the chair next to the bed. Quickly take her
picture before she disappears.

A blue ball will appear on the floor where Ruka's mother
was. Examine it. It will be a key. Ruka will automatically
look under her bed to find some books. Examine them. It
will be Ruka's third diary. After reading through it, a
mask appears on Ruka's bed. Examine it to start a cut
scene. Once you are back in control of Ruka, go ahead
and leave her room. We're done here.

GHOST LIST ALERT
Once leaving Ruka's room, turn left and make your way back
through the hall slowly. Before you come to the corner
where you have to turn right, a ghost will appear out of
nowhere. There will be no warning or anything to let you
know that he has appeared, but he will be outside the
window right in front of you. Take out your camera and
take his picture before he disappears.

Continue down the hall and go out the door. You will now
be in the third floor office. You'll notice that right in
front of you on the counter is a blue ball. Go ahead and
examine it. It will be a notebook.

GHOST LIST ALERT
As soon as you have read through the notebook, a nurse
will appear right in front of you in the office. Quickly
take out your camera and take her picture before she
disappears.

After taking her picture, go ahead and go inside the
office itself. You will see two balls on the shelf to the
left. Examine them. The one on the bottom will be Sayaka's
third diary. You will use the key that we got earlier to
open it up. The diary will give us some important
information about Haibara Hospital and an underground
passage. This is where we have to go to next. The ball on
up top will be some blue crystals. Now we're ready to
leave. Go ahead and leave the office. You will now be at
the third floor elevator hall. Finally, we can save!
Hopefully you got all the ghosts and dolls up to this
point. Go ahead and save. We're almost done with the
chapter. Now go into the elevator and go all the way down
to the first floor.

As soon as you reach the bottom, the screen will go grey
and Sakuya appears. Great, just what we needed. There is
only one thing you can do, and that's run away. Go to your
left and go through the door. You will be in the dinning
hall again. Once inside, the grey screen should go away
and things should be back to normal. Leave this room and
go back to the elevator hall.

Good, she's gone. Now that she is now longer blocking our
path, go forward past the save point and to the hallway
to the left like we did at the prologue. Before you come
to the end of the hall, you should come to a big door to
your right. It's time to try opening it. Unfortunately,
we can't. After giving it a try, a spiritual presence
will appear over the door. Take a picture of it to get
your hint. Hmm, this picture looks familiar. Do you
remember where this place is at? Well, today's your lucky
day because this guide does know where it is, so you
don't have to remember. We have to go back down to the
basement area. What you can do now is backtrack to the
OوK u (storage room), which is right behind us.

Once inside, make your way down the stairs again.

GHOST LIST ALERT
As soon as you come to the bottom, the screen will be
grey and Sakuya will walk out again, but this time, it
is not to come after us. Take out your camera and take
her picture before she walks off the screen.

With that done, turn left and go into the electric room.

Examine the hole to find the key inside. As always, your
map is automatically opened to show you where we have to
go.

GHOST LIST ALERT
The moment you close the map, a nurse will appear sitting
in the chair behind you. Quickly take out your camera and
get her picture.

When the nurse disappears, a blue ball will appear. Don't
examine that ball yet, but walk over to it. Another ball
should appear on the floor right next to the desk where
the nurse was sitting. Examine that one first. It will be
the lens which is probably the strongest in the game.
You will definitely want to quickly max this lens' stats
out ASAP and hopefully by that time you'll have your orbs
maxed out for storing power. With all 6 orbs full of power
and with at Lvl 3, it will do 6 times the normal damage.
The only drawback is that it uses all 6 orbs of stored
power. Go ahead and examine the ball on top of the desk.
It will be a ledger. Upon reading it, the radio will start
and you will hear the voice of a woman talking. When it's
over, go ahead and leave this room.

Turn right and go back up the steps to the storage room
door and leave this area, too. Save if you want to and then
go back to the door that we were at just a few minutes ago.
If you don't know the way, look on your map for the door
with the key on it. Once you reach the door, go ahead and
go through it. Hopefully you have gotten all the dolls and
ghosts because you won't be able to return to this area of
the game with Ruka once the chapter is over. Well, ghost
list ghosts are chapter specific, so if you're missing one,
there is nothing you can do about it, but any doll up until
now can be found if you're missing any, so check to make
sure you're okay.

You should now be in the V٘AʘH ŴL. You should
notice a ball appeared to your right. Go ahead and examine
it to find some red crystals. Go ahead and go down the
steps. Two ghost will probably appear. You will definitely
want to use Type 14 film on these two. They're not really
strong, but what they do like to do is disappear all over
the place and attack you from behind. A lot of the times,
they'll make a dash at you. Remember, you can dodge every
attack by shaking the Wii Remote. Once their gone, proceed
down the hall. You'll notice that once you reached the
bottom of the steps that there are windows to the right of
you.

DOLL ALERT
At the very last window, the one with the curtains not
blocking the view, you'll see a doll outside sitting on
the top branch of the tree. Take out your camera and take
its picture. Proceed through the remainder of the hall and
open up the door.

Hmm, this looks very familiar, doesn't it? Of course it
does. We're back at Haibara Hospital. This door connects
the two areas. In the little cut scene after opening the
door, you saw the elevator. Well, I guess we know where we
have to go next. Go ahead and walk through the door and
down the hall once you have control of Ruka. Go ahead and
turn right and go down the stairs. Once at the bottom, you
can save if you want, and then go to the elevator.

GHOST LIST ALERT
The moment that you try to get on the elevator, a ghost
will appear in front of you on the elevator. Go ahead and
take its picture before it disappears.

With that done, select the very bottom floor.

GHOST LIST ALERT
As you're going down, there will be a ghost in front of
the elevator waiting for the elevator on the floor below
you (don't worry, it won't stop for the ghost). This might
give you problems because the elevator is moving. What I
suggest is going into camera mode and pointing down before
the elevator reaches the floor where the ghost is on. That
way you'll be able to locate him quicker and take his
picture. You only have one chance to get him while the
elevator is moving down. If you miss him, you're out of
luck.

DOLL ALERT
Right before you reach the very bottom floor, you will
notice a doll sitting before you between floors. Like you
did with the ghost, you will have to take its picture
while the elevator is moving. If you miss it the first
time, don't worry. You can keep going up and down the
elevator as many times as you like until you get its
picture.

Go ahead and walk to the end of the path. Doing so will
bring you to a cut scene with Ruka saying that she
remembers being here. Congratulations, you have finished
Chapter 6. You will be given the option of saving your
game and the pictures that you have taken.

--------------------

viii. CHAPTER 7

--------------------

Once again, we start the chapter with a summary of what
happened in Chapter 3.

Once you have control of Choushiro, you'll realize that
we're right where we left off with him in Chapter 3.
Look to the left. You should see a bunch of crates
stacked up on each other. Walk over to them. A blue
ball should've appeared or will appear. Examine to find
a mirror crystal. Now if you look around the room, you
should see a little alter with a mask in it. If it
hasn't already, right in front of it on the ground, a
blue ball will appear. Go ahead and examine it to get
a notebook. Once you have it, you will see a ghost of
Haibara walk by. No, we don't have to take a picture
of him. If you look in front of you, you should find a
door. Go ahead and go in it.

You will be in the Oٓ ٓ. Turn to the left and you
will notice a save. Save if you want to and go down the
stairs. At the end of the path you'll notice that your
way is blocked. There's a hole to crawl through, but
Choushiro is too big go through it. In front of the
hole, a blue ball will appear. Examine it to get a note.
There is another blue ball here on the wall at the foot
of the stairs. It might not appear at first, but go
ahead and wait for it. You might get attacked by a
ghost. If you do, take him out (he's not hard) then
check to see if the ball appeared. You might want to go
up on the steps a little bit and then look down to see
where it appeared at. Once it appears, examine it to
get some blue crystals. Okay, now where done with this
room. Go ahead and leave.

Now we're in the room where we started. Go ahead and
make your way over to the elevator. If you don't know
where to go, go ahead and open up your map and look for
it. Once you get close to it, the elevator will come
down bringing 3 ghostly visitors. They aren't really
that hard to deal with. Just keep your distance, charge
up your Flashlight and let them have it. If you're
lucky, they will stay grouped together, which will allow
you to attack all three or two of them at once. Once
they're gone, go ahead and get into the elevator.

The elevator will automatically go up and stop at B1.

GHOST LIST ALERT
As soon as you step off of the elevator, a nurse will
appear at the door to the left of you. Quickly turn
towards her and take her picture with your Flashlight
before she disappears.

With that done, go ahead and save your progress up
until now. If you need life, you can exchange points
for herbal medicine. As you probably have noticed, we
hardly get any anymore. Once you've saved go ahead and
go through the door the nurse was standing at.

You should now be in the Da@nK@ (morgue). As
soon as you walk through the door, you'll see that a
blue ball has appeared on the table in front of you to
the left. Your filament will also be blue. First things
first. Go ahead and examine the blue ball on the table.
It will be another patient file. Once you have that,
walk forward. There should be someone laying on the bed
to the left of you. Take out your Flashlight and take a
picture of him. Once you go over to explore the next
part of the room, a ghost will appear. Don't worry. This
is not a ghost for our list. You'll see a blue ball on
the stretcher to the right of you. Examine it go get
some red crystals. Now turn left. There will be a ball
on the table below the mask. Examine it for a sacred
water. Now go over to the next part of the room. A blue
ball should be in the pile of garbage bags. Examine it
to find a note and a key. As always, the map will open
up and show us where to use the key. Now turn to your
left. There should be two balls, one on the little table
and one on the body back near the corner. Examine them.
One will be a tape and the other will be another patient
file. Even though there isn't a blue ball, you can also
examine the patient's body.

DOLL ALERT
If you look to the left of you, you'll see an incinerator
door that's opened. Inside you'll see the doll sitting.
Take its picture.

With that, we've cleared out this room. Go ahead and leave
the morgue. As you try to leave, the whiny ghost will be
back (again). Go ahead and take him out and then leave the
room.

GHOST LIST ALERT
The second you step back into the hallway, a ghost will
appear to the left of you at the other door at the end of
the hall. Quickly take its picture before it disappears.

I would recommend saving since we've gotten another doll
and some ghost shots. Once you're done, go down the hall
and go through the door the ghost just went through.

GHOST LIST ALERT
The second you walk through the door, the ghost will walk
by right in front of you. Quickly take her picture before
she disappears.

You are now in the Da@nK@nʘH (underground passage).
There's a door to your right, but ignore it for now. Take
the left turn and go down the hall. You'll notice that we
can't get to the other side because of the gate blocking
our path. To the right of the gate, you'll notice that
there is a button there. Press it. Unfortunately, there
isn't any power. Okay, so it looks like we have to restore
power to gate before we can get past it. Backtrack down
the hall and go back to that door I just told you to skip
a minute ago. Go ahead and go into the room.

A ghost will appear, but you don't have to take its picture.
Open your map real quick. You will see that this room is
almost shaped like a square. What I'm going to do is
navigate through this room clock-wise. Now go ahead and
close your map and go forward. As soon as you take a step,
yep, you'll hear the whiny ghost again, but this time he's
brought friends. In all, there are 3 ghosts. You'll have
the whiny guy, a woman, and a woman on the ceiling. They're
not really hard. Just don't let them surround you. Remember
to keep an eye on the ceiling. With them beat, go ahead and
proceed around the area clock-wise. Well start by going up.
If you walk to the little section at the very top, you'll
notice that its name has changed on your map. It should show
the name Da@nK oւ̒ʘH (exit). One end will be a door
leading out of the hospital (which we can't go through) and
the other end will have our circuit breaker. Go over and
examine it to turn power on for the gate. Backtrack back
down and turn left to continue moving clock-wise around this
room. Eventually we will come to a path leading to the left.
If you check your map, you will see that this section has
its own name, too. It should read Da@nK H̒ʘH (the
path under construction). Well, we might as well walk all
the way through to the end. At the very end of the path
under construction, you will see a crate to your left and
a wheelbarrow to your right with a ball inside.

DOLL ALERT
Inside the crate to your left, you should see a doll. Go
ahead and take its picture.

Now go ahead and examine the ball in the wheelbarrow to
find some herbal medicine. As you turn around, a ball
should've appeared on the crate
behind you. Examine it to find the construction worker's
ledger. Now we're ready to leave this room. If you don't
know where to go, look at your map and head for the door
we came in. Just leave the construction area and turn left
then follow the path to the door. As you walk through the
construction area, you will probably get attacked by a
ghost. Not a big deal. Take her out and then leave this
area.

Now go ahead and make your way through the hall back to
where the gate was and then press the button to open it.
Once it's opened, go up the steps. Haibara will appear and
walk into the director's room. You don't have to take his
picture. Before going into the director's room, a blue ball
should have appeared on the stretcher in front of you.
Examine it to find a file. With that done, go ahead and go
into the director's room.

GHOST LIST ALERT
As soon as take a step forward after entering, Haibara will
appear in the far back of the room at the bookcase. Take
out your camera and take his picture before he disappears.

A ball should appear over the stack of books on the table
in front of the desk. Examine it to find a letter. Now go
over to where Haibara was and another ball should appear.
Examine that one, too. You'll find the second ledger of
the director of Haibara Hospital. Before leaving the
director's room, go back through the secret door and down
the stairs like we did last time.

GHOST LIST ALERT
Once you get close to the bottom, the ghosts of Haibara, a
doctor, and someone lying on the bed will appear. Don't try
taking a picture of them from the stairs because it won't
work. You have to quickly run the rest of the way down the
stairs and then take their picture for it to count towards
your list.

Once they're gone, a ball will appear on the bed. Go ahead
and examine it to find a note. Now you can go back up the
stairs and leave out the director's room.

Once in the hall, turn right and make your way to the door.
A ball should appear in front of the window on your left.
Examine it to find some red crystals. No go through the
door to your right.

Once you've entered the room and taken a few steps, you
will hear the intercom ring. Go over and examine it. You
will here Haibara say a few things. Once he's done, a blue
ball should appear on the table. Examine it to find another
ledger. You're ready to leave this room. Walk back out into
the hall and go through the door to the next room.

As soon as you enter, you'll find that you are attacked by
a ghost. She isn't hard to deal with. Once you beat her,
leave out the door on the right of the room. If you don't
know which door, open up your map and look for the one that
will take you to the Da@K փz[ (hospital entrance hall).

When you walk out the door, you'll find yourself in the
hallway connecting to the entrance hall.

GHOST LIST ALERT
As soon as you walk into the entrance hall, a ghost will
appear in front of you at the other end of the room. It
might be hard to see her, so find her first before taking
out your Flashlight to take her picture.

Go ahead and save your game up to this point if you want to
and then go to the hall where we saw the ghost. If you don't
know where to go, look at your map and find the door with
the key on it. We are heading for that door.

You should now be in hallway with the flickering light. Go
ahead and walk down the hall and through the curtain. You
should be back in the prep room again. Go ahead and walk
through the door.

You should be in the operating room again. Go ahead and
continue to the next room. Now, take out your map and get
ready to run all the way over to the door with the key on it.

GHOST LIST ALERT
Now the ghost is going to appear in front of the door that we
need to go through at the other side of this room. Once you
make it half way over there, you will hear her appear. You'll
have to quickly run all the way over to the other side of the
room where the door is to get a clear shot. As you can tell,
the room is cluttered and junky, so run over to where the door
is and quickly take her picture before she disappears.

Go ahead and open the door.

You should now be at the Da@K@ (backdoor). Go ahead and
save. Open up your map real quick and look down the long,
winding path that leads to the Da@K@n (cemetery).

GHOST LIST ALERT x 4
As you walk down this path, the ghost will appear 4 times,
so look for her. On the fourth and final time, she will
appear in the cemetery. You will have to run past the stones
there in order to get her picture.

As you step forward, you will notice a garbage shed to the
right side of you. Go ahead and examine the open trash bin
in front of you. You will find some burnt letters. After
scrolling through them all (27 in total), you'll notice that
a blue ball appears by the trash bags. Examine it to find
another notebook. Once you have it, start walking down the
path. After the ghost appears for the first time, continue
down the path. You'll see a tree to the right of you and
notice that your item filament is blue. A ball should appear
on the branch of the tree. Examine it to get blue crystals.
Go ahead and continue back down the path. After she appears
a third time, you'll walk into a path of torii gates
(Japanese- style gates used to mark the entrance to a sacred
place). A ball will appear a little ways into it. Examine it
to find the J special enhancement lens. This will extend the
time you have to perform chains. All you have to do is have
it selected (like you do for the lens) for it to be active.
Once you have passed through the torii gates, you will be at
the cemetery. Remember to run around the stones in front of
you to take the ghost's last picture.

DOLL ALERT
Walk over to the right side of the cemetery to the right of
where the ghost was. On the other side, you should see a doll
sitting on some of the stones. Take its picture.

Once the ghost disappears, a ball should appear in front of
the headstone the ghost was standing at. Examine it. You will
find a diary and a reel of film. Once you stand back up,
you'll notice a ghost looking over your shoulder. Hmm, that
can only mean one thing. Yes, get ready for a long fight. As
soon as you try to leave, you'll be attacked by 3 ghosts (not
whiny again). Why did I say a long fight? Well, to put it
simply, these ghosts will keep re-spawning after you beat
them. Try to keep moving and don't let yourself get surrounded.
Remember to go out of Flashlight mode so your Flashlight can
recharge its power. If you've been raising the stats of your
Flashlight then your power should be returning a little bit
faster than when we first started. After about a 10-15 minute
battle, you will notice that they start to die off little by
little. Why should you fight rather than run away? Well, think
of it in terms of points. To unlock everything that we will
open at the end of the game, it's going to cost you lots of
them. Plus, if you need film or healing items, you're going to
have to exchange points to get them. So yeah, it is a long,
boring battle, but on the brighter side, you're getting points
that will allow you to unlock the costumes and other stuff that
you might want. With the battle done, go ahead and return to
the backdoor. Save your game and go through the door.

Go ahead and backtrack all the way back to the Da@K փz[
(hospital entrance hall).

GHOST LIST ALERT
When you open the door to the prep room, you will see a ghost
appear in the sink right in front of you. You have a moderate
amount of time to take its picture.

Once you enter the hall, the phone will ring. Go ahead and
answer it. The person on the phone will say some things
should be known and some things are better off left forgotten.
You will then see a ghost of Haibara walking up the steps.
Once again, ghosts are leading us on. Go ahead and save your
progress again, if you want to, and then head up the stairs.

GHOST LIST ALERT
As you get halfway up the stairs, Haibara will appear and
he'll be walking down the hall to the left of you when you
get up the stairs. This might take a few times to get. You
have to quickly run up the stairs and take Haibara's picture
as he's walking down that hall. You don't have much time to
do it before he disappears, so you're going to have to be
really fast. Hopefully you saved earlier so you can restart
and try again if you have to.

Well, Haibara has led us to where we need to go. Walk through
the doors and go into the next room. Walk down the hall and
up the stairs and go into the next room. You will now be back
in a hallway, the one we came through earlier with Ruka. Turn
left and head down the hall and go ahead and save your game.
You might hear the sound of a blue ball appearing. If you do,
try looking at the area underneath the stairs. It will be red
crystals. Once you're done here, go ahead and walk through
the door past the elevator.

Once again, we'll be in the dining hall. As you enter the
room, a ball might've appeared to the corner left of you.
Examine it to get some blue crystals. It's time to watch that
reel of film that we found. Go over to the projector and watch
it. Press A to play it. There will be a cut scene of the dance
ceremony. Once it's over and he's finished talking, you will
see some feet appear behind the screen. Go over there and a
blue ball will appear. Examine it. You'll find a burnt painting
and a tape. We're done here. It's time to go back to the
elevator room and ride the elevator. Go ahead and leave the
dining hall out the door we just came in. Well, it would've
been nice if it was that easy. As soon as you make a move,
whiny is back (again). He just won't take a hint, will he? As
always, he brought some backup with him. Just lay the beat down
on him like you have so many times before and then go ahead and
leave this room.

GHOST LIST ALERT
As soon as you walk through the door, once again our nurse ghost
friend appears to lead the way. She will be walking into the
elevator. Quickly take her picture before she is gone.

Go ahead and save the game and then go inside the elevator. Go
up to the third floor.

GHOST LIST ALERT
As soon as you walk out the elevator, the nurse will appear at
the door to the left of you. Go ahead and take her picture.

Go ahead and go through the door to the third floor office and
make your way to Ruka's room. On your map, it's
OَOK@u308όvl.

GHOST LIST ALERT
Ruka's mother will appear next to Ruka's bed and ask Choushiro
to look after her daughter. Take her picture before she's gone.

A ball will appear on the chair next to the bed. Examine it to
find a photo and Sayaka's fourth diary. Now leave this room. A
blue ball should appear in Ruka's closet right before you leave.
Examine it to get some blue crystals. Now go ahead and leave
Ruka's room. Right as you're about to do so, the doctor will
walk through the door and attack you. Beat him up with your
Flashlight real quick. After beating him, he'll drop a small key
for you. Go ahead and leave this room.

GHOST LIST ALERT
The moment you step outside the door, a ghost will appear to the
right of you walking to the gallery (it's the same ghost that
appeared with Ruka earlier doing the exact same walk). Take his
picture before he disappears.

We still have a few things to do before we end this chapter. Go
back to the save at the elevator and save your game. Just use
your map if you have to. Save your game and then take the
elevator down to the second floor.

Once on the second floor open your map. Look for the
OٓK@Bꂽ (hidden room) on your map. Do you remember where
that is? Yes, we have to go all the way around to Ayako's room
and then go through her room to reach the hidden room. Go ahead
and make your way to the hidden room using the map. To those of
you asking why the heck we need to go to the hidden room,
remember the brown box from before? The key the doctor dropped
is for that brown box. Okay, now that I've answered your
question, go ahead and go to the hidden room.

Once you're in the room, examine the brown box to get another
black ledger and a film. Go ahead and walk through the door
out of the hidden room.

You will notice that you're right back in the elevator hall
on the second floor.

GHOST LIST ALERT
As soon as you take a few steps, Haibara will appear behind
you. Turn around and take his picture. Now go back in the
elevator and go to the first floor.

Go ahead and save your game and then go through the door to
the dining hall and watch the new film we got. Choose the
bottom film. After watching it, go ahead and go back to the
elevator room and go to the third floor. Now go all the way
back to where we saw the ghost. You have to go to the
OَOK@u309F挎vȖؗV. If you don't know where to go, look at
your map. It was the room with the paint in the bathtub.

Once you go into the room, you will have a cut scene. Once
the scene is over, it'll be time to take this ghost out. He
pretty much crawls after you on the floor. He isn't hard.
He'll attack you either from the floor or by walking over
to you. He might change to a no-face when you're close to
beating him. Remember, you can dodge his attacks by shaking
the Wii Remote. Once you've beaten him, examine the painting
on the floor for a cut scene. Congratulations, you have beaten
Chapter 7. As always, you will be given the option of saving
your game and saving your pictures.

--------------------

ix. CHAPTER 8

--------------------

As always, we begin this chapter with a summary of what
happened to Misaki in Chapter 5. We will start where we
left off. You will see a cut scene Sakuya again. This is
going to be the last time we play with Misaki.

Once you have control of Misaki, you will be back in her
room. Go over to the dresser in the far back of the room
and examine the radio. You'll hear the girl in black's
voice again talking about how everything will be fine as
long as they are together. Once you've heard that, a ball
will appear on the dresser beside that one in the back of
the room. Examine it to get a picture and a note. Go ahead
and head towards the door.

GHOST LIST ALERT
Once you get close to the door, the girl in black appears.
Take out your camera and take her picture before she walks
through the door.

Over by the coat rack next to her closet, a ball will appear.
Examine it to get some blue crystals. Now go ahead and leave
this room. And make your way to the third floor elevator hall.
Just look for the save point on your map if you don't know
where to go.

Go ahead and save your game and then open up the elevator.

GHOST LIST ALERT
Once it opens up, the girl in black will be inside it. Take
her picture before she disappears.

Go in the elevator. As soon as you try to press the button,
you find a key. This key will allow us to go to the 4th floor.
Choose the 4th floor.

As soon as you leave the elevator, you'll be attacked by our
ceiling ghost friend. I will warn you beforehand that she will
change into a no-face, so try to kill her quickly. Your camera
should be pretty strong now. Go ahead and use Type 14 film for
this, but save your Type 61 if you have it. If you haven't used
your points that much, you should have over a million right now,
so you can always get some more Type 14 if you want. Anyway,
take her out. Once you've beaten her, look up.

DOLL ALERT
Wow, it's been a long time since we've found a new doll. Look up
at the chandelier. You will find the doll sitting on the one to
the left of the elevator. Take its picture.

Go ahead and walk into the next room. You will find two balls.
Examine them both. When you examine the one by the phone, the
phone will start ringing and keep you from getting the ball the
first time. Pick up the phone. Now go ahead and pick up the blue
ball to get a black notebook and a diagram (map) of the 4th
floor. Right now, we're in the OَlK@lKǗ (fourth floor
office). Now go inside the office itself and examine the balls
on the desk. One is some crystals and the other is another
ledger.

GHOST LIST ALERT
Once you have examined the ledger, a girl will appear in front
of the intercom and say some numbers. Take her picture before
she disappears.

What the girl is saying are the numbers that we need for the
code. For those of you who don't understand Japanese, this would
be a near impossible puzzle for you to figure out. That's okay,
I'll listen to the numbers for you. She said, "4467." Input
these numbers into the intercom to unlock the door. Go ahead
and go to the next room.

You should be in the OَlK@lKuaւ̘L. It's basically a
hallway.

GHOST LIST ALERT
As you take few steps down the hall, two girls will appear in
front of you running down the hall. Take their pictures before
they're gone.

Proceed down the hall.

GHOST LIST ALERT
When you get close to the door, the nurse will appear in front
of it. Go ahead and take her picture.

Once you're done, you're going to be attacked. Go ahead and
take out the ghost. She isn't hard to beat. Once you're
finished, a ball will appear on the little desk. Examine it
to get another black ledger. Now don't move from where you're
at. Turn around and look up.

DOLL ALERT
You will see a doll near the ceiling sitting above the doorway.
Take its picture.

Now continue on to the next room.

GHOST LIST ALERT
As soon as you enter and turn to the left at the bend, the two
girls will appear in front of the door at the other end of the
hall. Quickly take their picture before they disappear.

DOLL ALERT
Now look up at the ceiling. There will be an opening in the
ceiling with the doll looking down at you. Take its picture.

There will be a blue ball on the desk right before the door.
Examine it to find another ledger. Once you have it, go through
the door. There will be a brief cut scene with Sakuya. She
looks a whole lot better with a face, doesn't she?

You should now be in the OَlK@u412Xv. This is Sakuya's
room.

GHOST LIST ALERT
As soon as the cut scene is over, Sakuya will appear at her
bed. Get her picture before she disappears.

You'll immediately notice a blue ball to the left of you on
the desk. Examine it. It will be another ledger. Now go over to
Sakuya's bed to examine the ball that appeared there when she
disappeared. It will be Sakuya's first diary. There should be
another blue ball to the left of you. Go examine that one. It
will be Sakuya's second diary.

GHOST LIST ALERT
Once you read through the second diary, a ghost will appear in
front of you through the window. Quickly take her picture before
she disappears.

Now head to that little area to the left of you with all the
dolls. No, this isn't where the doll is that we need to take a
picture of. Before examining the box over there, go into the
greenhouse section of the room where we just saw the ghost.
There will be a blue ball on the floor and one near the window.
Examine the one on the floor first. It will be Misaki's diary
and the puzzle piece that we need for a box. Now examine the
blue ball by the window. It will be blue crystals. Now don't
move.

DOLL ALERT
Take out your camera and aim to the right corner of the window.
By the plant on the opposite side of the glass will be a doll.
Take its picture. That is the last doll on the 4th floor.

Now leave out the greenhouse and walk to the shelf right in
front of you. Examine the box. Alright, now we have one of
these puzzles to do. It's very simple. You have to align the
piece by their number left to right. Also, there is a picture
in the upper right corner that shows what the puzzle will look
like when you're done. Go ahead and figure this one out. It
shouldn't take you too long, I hope. Once you solve it, you
will get Sakuya's third diary.

GHOST LIST ALERT
We are ready to leave this room. As you make your way out and
get closer to the bed, the girl in black will appear in front
of you. The girl won't disappear, so you can take your time
on this one.

Now we're ready to leave here. Go over and walk to the girl
in black. A cut scene of Haibara Hospital will happen.

GHOST LIST ALERT
Once Misaki is done looking at the moon, a ghost will appear
in front of you of a patient jumping off the roof. Take her
picture. (Note: The next ghost #101 we will not be able to
get because of a bug, so it will appear empty on our list.)

Go examine the ghost in front of you getting ready to jump.
The ghost will jump down to her death. A blue ball where appear
where she jumped from. It will be a letter from the girl who
just jumped. Once you have the note, go ahead and turn around.
We're on the roof of Haibara Hospital. Walk over to the benches
in front of you. If it hasn't appeared, a blue ball will appear
in the space between the two benches. Examine it to get the
equippable function. Wow, it's been a while. We haven't found
an equippable function since Chapter 3. The function will
automatically be equipped. With this function, you will hear a
sound when you are close to a doll. It's practically useless
since you have this guide. Well, let's try putting this new
function to the test.

DOLL ALERT
On the right side of the right bench, you will see a doll
sitting on the ground. You'll know when you're in the area
because you'll get the sound now. Aim down and take its picture.

Now go to the left side of the roof to get the ball over there.
It will be some red crystals. We're now ready to leave the roof.
Go through the door to the next room. If you don't know where it
is, look at your map.

Make your way through the room and to the door, but don't go
through it just yet.

DOLL ALERT
Look over on the floor to your right. There should be a broken
mirror there with the majority of the glass missing. Behind it
is a doll sitting on the floor. Go over and take its picture.

Go ahead and leave this room now.

Go down the steps. At the bottom, there will be a save. Go ahead
and save your game. No turn around and go into the room with the
curtains on the doorway. You should be in the Da@K 󎺂̂L.
You'll notice a ball on the ground in front of you. Examine it
to get some blue crystals. Now walk all the way to the very back
of the laundry room.

DOLL ALERT
Look to your left. There will be a doll sitting on some laundry.
Take its picture.

Okay, you're ready to leave this room. Save again if you want to
and then leave out the door.

You should now be in the Da@K a (sickroom 2). Go ahead
and walk forward until you have to turn left. Turn left, but
don't move forward.

DOLL ALERT
Go into camera mode and aim down. There is a compartment above
the floor. The doll is in that compartment. Walk over to it and
take its picture.

As you proceed through the room, you'll notice a blue ball on
the floor under one of the beds. Go ahead and examine it. It will
be a ledger. Go ahead and leave this room.

You should now be in the Da@K@kb (lounge). Open the big door
that appears immediately to your left and go inside.

You will now be in the Da@K a (sickroom 1). On the bed in
the upper right corner of the room will be a blue ball. Go over
and examine it to find to find a ripped up letter.

DOLL ALERT
Right in front of you one the bed is a doll. Take its picture.

Go ahead and make your way to the door. As soon as you do, you'll
hear the sound you always do when a ghost list ghost appears.
Don't be fooled. This is not one of those ghosts. As you walk to
the door to leave, it will come and attack you. Even though one
was only visible, there are actually two ghosts here. Remember,
you can shake the Wii Remote to avoid their attacks. They
shouldn't give you too much trouble. They like to do back
attacks and get you when you least expect it. Just shake the
Wii Remote to avoid their attacks and take them out. Once you
beat them, go ahead and leave this room and go back out to the
lounge.

Once in the lounge turn left and continue down the hall.

GHOST LIST ALERT
After a few steps, the doctor will appear and walk off the
screen. Take your camera out and take his picture before he
disappears.

Walk a little further and you'll come to a lounge located to
the left of you. Go inside, but don't go too far in.

GHOST LIST ALERT
On the floor to the right after entering is a waste basket.
Inside is the doll. Go ahead and take its picture and then
leave out this room.

You will now be in the Da@K@փz[@2F (hospital entrance
hall 2F).

GHOST LIST ALERT
As you get close to the steps, the doctor will appear and
walk down them. Rather than trying to get a picture of him
before he disappears down the stairs, run over to the stairs
and take his picture as he's going down them.

After taking his picture, proceed down the stairs.

GHOST LIST ALERT
Once you get to the bottom landing right before the second
set of stairs leading down, you will see the doctor again
walking off the screen to your left. Before he does, quickly
take out your camera and take his picture.

Go ahead and save your game if you want to. Now we have to
go all the back to the director's room. It's Da@K@@ on
your map. Go down the little hall to the left of the elevator
and go through the door.

Walk to the back of the next room and turn left then go out
the door in front of you.

GHOST LIST ALERT
As soon as you walk through the door to the next room and
have taken a few steps, the doctor will appear again in front
of you. Take his picture.

If you haven't figured it out yet, the doctor is leading the
way. Go through the door in front of you.

You will now be in the hallway before the director's room.
Proceed to the next room.

GHOST LIST ALERT
As soon as you go through the door and take a few steps left,
the doctor will appear again and walk into the director's
room, so take his picture before he does.

Go ahead and go into the director's room.

As soon as you enter, you'll notice that your filament is
all blue. There is a ghost somewhere in this room.

GHOST LIST ALERT
It's right in the corner next to the secret door. Take out
your camera and point it at the corner to get your blue ring.

Once you've taken the picture try opening the door to the
hidden stairs. It won't budge. Turn around. A ball should've
appeared on the bookcase behind you. Yahoo, it's Type 90 film!!
Save this. You will need this later (if you want to make your
life easy). A blue ball will be on the little table in front
of the desk, also. Examine it to find Misaki's patient record.
Now a blue ball should've appeared on the desk as well. Examine
that one. Now go behind the desk and examine it. The intercom
will come up with the numbers we put in it before. Press the
round button to unlock the door. Go ahead and go through the
door and down the stairs.

GHOST LIST ALERT
As soon as you reach the bottom of the stairs and take a few
steps, the doctor will appear over Misaki on the bed. Take
their picture before they disappear. (Note: I tried many
times, but for some reason, I couldn't get the blue ring to
take a picture. Maybe you'll have better luck than I did.)

As soon as they disappear, you will be attacked by a ghost.
She isn't that difficult to deal with. Just stay away from
her and wait for a fatal frame combo.

Once you've beaten her, a ball should have appeared
underneath the bed. Go examine it.@It will be the
function. This will moderately boost your damage for one
shot.

GHOST LIST ALERT
The file that will appear on top of the bed is another one
of Misaki's patient records. As soon as you read through
it, the girl in black will appear to the right of you. Take
her picture before she walks away.

With that done, go ahead and walk down the next set of
stairs.

GHOST LIST ALERT
Once you reach the bottom and turn right, the girl in black
will appear again in front of you. Take her picture. Go
ahead and walk to the door at the end of this passage.

Once through the door, you will be in the Da@nK@fm.
Go ahead and proceed to your left.

GHOST LIST ALERT
After you proceed a little ways, Haibara and Misaki will
appear in front of you walking toward you. Take their
picture before the disappear.

Once they're gone and you take a step or two forward, you
will be attacked by whiny and his friends again. Take them
out. A ball should appear in the open crate. It will be
Type 14 film. Now go to the little alter with the mask on
it. A blue ball should appear. Examine it. It will be a
notebook. After reading it, you will have a little cut
scene. Misaki remembers being brought here and leaving
something important behind.

GHOST LIST ALERT
Once the cut scene is finished, the girl in black will
appear in front of us to lead the way. Take her picture.
If you miss, just walk up after her and take it then.
You have a little bit of time to take her picture.

Follow here to the big gate. Go ahead and open the gate
to find out who this important girl in black could be.
As soon as you walk through the big gate, you will have
a cut scene. Oh crap, it's Sakuya, and yes, we have to
fight her this time.

BOSS FIGHT Sakuya
You would think that she would be hard, but she really
isn't. Remember, you can dodge her attacks. Switch over
to the Type 90 film. You probably won't have a lot, so
you're going to have to make every shot count. A 2-hit
fatal frame combo with Type 90 film should be enough to
take her out. Prepare to watch a cut scene that will
explain this mysterious girl in black. When it is over,
you will have concluded the chapter.

Congratulations, you've cleared the Chapter 8. It's
hard to believe that this girl in black was Misaki's
doll when she was a child, but that's exactly what she
was. You will be given the option of saving your game
and your pictures. It's been real Misaki. See you the
next time we play through the game.

--------------------

x. CHAPTER 9

--------------------

As always, Chapter 9 starts with a summary of Ruka's
exploits in Chapter 6. You will begin with a cut scene.
She will remember the time when she was saved by Choushiro.

Once you have control of Ruka, turn around and go to
the elevator. Go up to the first floor and leave out
the hospital. Walk over to the well to your right.

DOLL ALERT
Above the well there is a doll sitting on the wood. Take
its picture.

Once you have it, go ahead and go back down the elevator
back to where you were and proceed down the path. A cut
scene will take place. Once the scene is over, you will
be attacked by the whiny ghost and his friends again.
Deal with them like you always have. Once they're gone,
go ahead and go through the door in front of you.

You should now be in the Oٓ o. As soon as you take
a step forward, you will see another cut scene of Haibara
and a young Ruka. Ruka will remember being brought this
way before. With that settled, go ahead and save your game
and say goodbye to the hospital area. Check your items
and film and restock if you have to. When you're done, go
down the steps and crawl through the little opening at the
bottom. Once you've crawled through, proceed down the path.
When you reach the 3-way junction, there will be a cut scene.
Now you'll notice that you'll have two different directions
to go. The path ahead of us is blocked. So let's start by
going right.

Eventually, you'll see a little alter in front of you. A
ball should have appeared. Examine it to get sacred water.
Now you're at another fork in the path. Go right first. If
you look ahead, you can see the path is blocked up ahead,
but go down it anyway.

GHOST LIST ALERT
As you proceed down the path, a ghost will appear on the
floor telling you not to come near him. Take his picture
before he disappears.

Once he has disappeared, a blue ball should appear where
he was at. Go over and examine it. You'll pick up a note.
With that said, turn around
and head straight down the path past the alter.
Eventually you will see another dead end.

GHOST LIST
As you walk down the path, a ghost will appear at the
dead end. Take her picture before she disappears.

Once she's gone, you will probably get attacked. Beat
the ghost and head back to the junction we were at
earlier. If you're lost, look at your map. Once back
at the junction take the other path that we didn't go
down. If you don't know which one, go ahead and look at
your map.

Like with the other path, you will eventually come to
two alters. Look to your left. You should see a blue
ball glowing. Go ahead and examine it. It will be Type
90 film (Yippee)!! Go ahead and turn back around and
proceed to the other end of the path. You will eventually
come to some stairs and a path leading to the right. Hmm,
now we have to make a choice. Let's go right. We'll come
back to the stairs in a minute.

Go down the path. When you come to the bend, go ahead and
turn left. There isn't anything to the right except a dead
end. As we walk a little ways down the path again, we'll
come to another break where we can either go forward or to
the right. Let's go forward for a sec. As soon as you do,
you'll see a cut scene of Sakuya again. With that done,
you'll notice that there is a hole and some stairs leading
down. Don't go down there yet. Now you will probably notice
that your item filament is blue. Up on the wall to your left
is a blue orb which probably hasn't appeared yet. Wait around
until it does and examine it to get some blue crystals. Now
turn around and backtrack. Go left up the stairs. Walk all
the way down the path until you reach a balcony. You will
see Sakuya look up at you. With that finish turn around and
take the turn to your right.

DOLL ALERT
Walk a little ways down the path and then turn around and
look up. A doll will be sitting in front of you. Take its
picture.

Go ahead and continue down the path. Eventually you will
reach a set of stairs that lead downward. Oh, these are the
stairs that we didn't go up the last time we were here. Once
down the stairs go left and then take another left and keep
going straight. You should now be back at the hole and the
steps leading down. Go ahead and go down the steps. As soon
as you do...the screen turns grey and Sakuya appears. That
can only mean one thing...run for your life! Turn around
and run away. After running for a little bit, the screen
will eventually turn back to normal. Once it does, turn
around and go back to where you just were.

She's gone. You'll probably notice a blue ball on the wall
to the right of you. Go ahead and examine it to get some
blue crystals. Once you've gotten them, go ahead and walk
through the opening at the end of this room and go down the
steps. As you proceed down the path, you'll come to another
little alter with a blue ball on it. Examine it to get some
more Type 90 film. Now open your map. You should be at
OٓO@ٓ . There should be a statue to the left of you
and a blue ball below it. Examine the ball to get a notebook.
Once you've read it, you'll hear whiny again. Go ahead and
take him out. With him gone, go down the path and past the
alter. Eventually you'll come to another turn. You can only
go right since the left is a dead end, but before going,
search the left side. A ball should appear. Examine it. It
will be red crystals. With that done, go to your right and
walk down the path. You'll come to a path breaking to the
right, but before going down it, proceed down to the end of
the path that you're on. A ball should've appeared in front
of you. Examine it to get a black book. Once you've read
through it, whiny will appear behind you again. Take him out.
Now go to ahead and turn (left) at that break in the path.
You'll immediately have to make a right turn. Go down the
path. Don't go down too fast. You'll notice that your
filament has turned red. Yes, there is a ghost up ahead
waiting for us (and blocking our path).

GHOST LIST ALERT
Don't get too close to the ghost because she will attack you.
Take out your camera and take her picture. If you don't get
the blue ring, then slowly walk a little bit forward until
you do.

Once you have her picture, go ahead and walk up to her. She
will attack you. Dispose of the unruly ghost and continue
down the path. You will eventually go into a cut scene of
Sakuya coming over to a girl and the girl telling Sakuya
not to come near her. Well, once again the screen goes grey
and Sakuya comes out to play. Turn around and run. Keep
running until your screen goes back to normal and then turn
back around and proceed back to the area where we saw the
cut scene.

You should come to a bridge. This is where we saw the cut
scene. You should be at OٓO@. In front of you down
the hall are some stairs going up, but we don't want to
leave here just yet. You'll notice that you can go over to
the right side of the bridge. Do that. You should be
standing right in front of a statue now. Turn to your left.
It's a dead end, but you'll notice that a ball has appeared
(or will appear). Go examine it to find some red crystals.
Now turn around and walk down the path past the statue and
down the stairs. You'll immediately come to another dead
end, but there will be a blue ball down there. Examine it
to get the special enhancement lens. With that done,
we're ready to leave this area. Turn around, go up the
stairs and then return to the left side of the bridge.
Continue down the path and go up the stairs. Continue down
this path a little bit and then you will come to a long
set of stairs. Go ahead and go up those as well. At the
top of the steps, there will be a door, but don't go
through it just yet. Turn around. A ball will appear to the
right of the alter behind you. Examine it to get another
book. Once you have it, go ahead and go to the door, but
not through it. A ball will appear to the right of the door.
Examine it to get some red crystals. Now go ahead and go
through the door.

As soon as you do, there will be a brief cut scene (thank
god we finally made it through the underground passage).
Go ahead and go up the long flight of stairs in front of you.
Eventually you'll come to a hall. Before going up the stairs
in front of you, go down the hall to the left. You'll notice
that the path is blocked by beams of wood, but a ball will
appear in front of those beams. Examine it to get a clipping.

GHOST LIST ALERT
Once you have read through the clipping, ghosts will appear
in front of you. Aim your camera through the wood and take
their picture.

With that done, go ahead and go up the next set of stairs.
There will be a save to the right of you. I would suggest
building up your life and getting some herbal medicines if
you need some and raising the level of your camera and/or
lenses because you are going to be in a big fight pretty
soon. Once you're finished with that, walk down the hall.
Sounds like they're having a party over in the next room
with all the music going on. Looks like it's our time to
crash it. Go ahead and open the door.

As soon as you walk in, you'll see a little cut scene. Go
ahead and walk down to the dance platform. As soon as you
do, another cut scene will start.

BOSS FIGHT Dancer & Maidens
Alright, this battle can be a little tedious. I remember
the first time I fought them and I was about ready to break
my Wii Remote. Well, it would probably be that way for you,
too, but I will give you a method that is sure to make your
life easy. First of all, avoiding attacks is a must. You
will not last long if you haven't mastered the art yet. You
will have the Dancer and two Maidens attacking you. For the
most part, the Dancer will keep away from you. She'll just
disappear all over the place leaving the real dirty work to
the Maidens. Don't get me wrong, she will try to attack you
from time to time. The Maidens, on the other hand, will be
coming after you using clever tactics. One will be a decoy
and one will attack you from behind. So which one is the
decoy and which one is your attacker? Well, look at the
hands. The decoy will have her hands down and just come
really close to you then fly backwards. The attacker will
have her hands up like she is coming over to strangle you.
You can ignore the decoy. She won't attack you. Turn around
and look for the Maiden with her hands up. You'll have to be
quick because the attack comes quick. If you stay in one
place for too long or look around for too long, you are sure
to be attacked. Just keep moving around and look for the
attacking Maiden. Remember to keep an eye out for the Dancer
because she can attack you, too. If she is going to attack,
she'll raise her hands, too. If not, she will just twirl
around and disappear. Now there is one more form of attack
that the Maidens will do. They will come up from the ground
and attack you at your feet. Of course you can avoid this,
but your best bet is to not stay in the same place for a long
period of time. Keep moving. Now with that said, who should
your primary target be? Well, you want to go after the Dancer.
When you see her come to make an attack at you, aim at her and
charge up your camera and then wait for a fatal frame to do a
fatal frame combo. Depending on what film you're using, the
level of your camera, and level of your lens, you will be able
to take the Dancer out with a few combos. Don't try going
after the Maidens too much because they will just keep
re-spawning after you kill them and consume your film. Once
the Dancer is gone, all you have to do is beat the Maidens
and the battle will be over.

Once the battle finishes, there will be another cut scene.
Once you're in control of Ruka, walk over to the stairs on
the other side of the room. Don't go up them yet. Walk over
to the right of the stairs.

DOLL ALERT
A doll is sitting on the ground behind those stairs. Go
take its picture.

With that done, go ahead and leave this room.

Once you walk through the door, go to your left. You'll
see that your path is blocked, but there should be a blue
ball down there. Examine it to get Type Zero film!!!!!
Now turn around and make your way down the hall. You
should see a blue ball glowing at the very end. Go
examine it to get some blue crystals. Now go down the
stairs. As soon as you reach the bottom, you will have a
cut scene. Once the cut scene is over, head to your left
first.

GHOST LIST ALERT
Ruka's father will appear in front of a door in front
of you. Take his picture before he disappears.

You'll notice that your item light is blue. Examine the
light to the right of you. Oh no, there's that ceiling
ghost again. Go ahead and beat her and continue all the
way down the hall. You'll notice that the way is blocked
by fallen wood.

DOLL ALERT
There is a doll sitting in the rubble in front of you.
Take its picture.

Before going through the door your dad went through, go
back down to the other end of the hall where we saw
Haibara take Ruka. Go down the steps and enter the room
beyond the door.

You should now be in I TGm. Above you on the ceiling
is a big noh mask. In front of you, there should be an
alter. Walk over in front of it then turn around.

GHOST LIST ALERT
You probably noticed that your ghost filament is blue.
Standing with your back turned to the altar, aim at the
area in front of you. You should get the blue ring. Take
the picture.

Now walk over to the far right corner of the room (to the
far right of the alter).

DOLL ALERT
There is a doll there on the floor. Take its picture.

Now go to the center of the room where the ghosts were
in the photo we just took. On the floor next to one of
the pillars is a blue ball. Examine it to get another
ledger. Now go ahead and leave this room and head back
to the door Ruka's father appeared at and go through it.

Walk a little ways down the hall until you see some
windows. You should now be at I nL.

DOLL ALERT
A doll will be outside the first window on your left.
Take its picture.

A little bit further down the hall and you should come
to a door to your left. Go ahead and open it up.

GHOST LIST ALERT
You will see a girl lying down in front of you in pain.
When you have control of Ruka, quickly take her picture.

As soon as you walk into the room, you'll have a cut scene.
Once it's over, go to the little table to the right of
where the ghost was lying. A ball should appear. Examine
it to get some more Type Zero film. Now walk around to the
alter in front of you.

DOLL ALERT
On the right side of the alter where it meets the wall,
there will be a doll sitting there. Take its picture.

Now examine the blue ball in front of the alter. It will
be a black book. Go over and examine the door to the left
of you. You will have a cut scene of Ruka calling out to
her father. When it is over, go ahead and leave this room
and go back into the hallway.

Turn left and continue down the hall.

GHOST LIST ALERT
When you get to a certain point, Ruka's father will
appear in front of you walking down the hall. Take his
picture before he walks away.

Continue down the hall. A blue ball should appear to the
right of the door. Examine it to get some blue crystals.
Once you have them, go ahead and go through the door.
You will have a cut scene with Ruka saying that the house
you're in is where she lived. Once the cut scene ends,
you're done with the chapter. Congratulations, you've
beaten Chapter 9. As always, you will be given an option
of saving your game and your pictures.

--------------------

xi. CHAPTER 10

--------------------

As always, we will have a summary explaining Choushiro's
exploits in Chapter 7. This will be the last time we play
as Choushiro in the game.

When we get control of Choushiro, you'll find that we're
in the room where we last played with him. There will be
a spiritual presence on the painting on the floor. Go ahead
and take a picture of it to get a hint. Hmm, we've seen
this place before. Yes, it is the courtyard. Well, it looks
like we know where we have to go. Turn around behind you.
There should be a ball there. Examine it to get a notebook.
You can leave this room now.

GHOST LIST ALERT
As soon as you leave the room, the ghost of Haibara will
appear to the left of you walking to the gallery. Take his
picture.

Well, let's follow Haibara. Go into the gallery.

GHOST LIST ALERT
Once you walk into the gallery, Haibara will appear again
in the far back of the room. Take his picture.

Walk up to Haibara. He will say a few things and disappear.
Choushiro will notice the picture of Sakuya in front of him.
There will be a blue ball on the floor in front of you.
Examine it to find a black ledger and a key. Your map will
open and show you where to use the key. Go ahead and turn
around. Huh, that's strange. The red wheelchair is there.
It wasn't there when we came in a second ago. This can only
mean one thing. Yes, you guessed it. As we try to walk past
the wheelchair, the lady in black will appear. It's actually
a funny moment. She isn't hard at all. You should be able to
beat her without any difficulty. Once she's gone, you will
get a letter. Go ahead and leave the gallery after reading
through it.

Walk through the hall and through the office until you reach
the elevator hall. Save the game if you want to. Now before
going down the elevator, let's walk to the other side of the
room and go through the door. On the other side, walk through
the halls all the way to the room where the lady in black's
coffin was. We're going to room OَOK@u311_Av瓰 on
your map. Go ahead and go there.

Once in the room, walk past the curtain. You'll notice
a blue ball on the coffin in front of you. Examine it
go get equippable function. This is the last one that
we'll get (we have to unlock the rest). This will
automatically give you 1.5 times more points for each
picture you take (this is necessary for some of the
missions). Once you have it, go ahead and leave this
room and head back to the elevator hall.

Go ahead and save again, if you want to, then take the
elevator to the first floor. Once on the first floor,
walk past the save and go into the hallway to the left.
Walk through the hallway to the next hallway.

Go through the door to your left. You should now be in the
courtyard. Go ahead and walk through the canopy to the pool
area. You'll notice close to the end of the tunnel that there
is a mirror crystal there. Take it if you need it. Once you
walk out of the canopy, you'll have a brief cut scene.

BOSS FIGHT Sakuya
Well, Sakuya has appeared again. I wouldn't call this a boss
fight. It's more of a ghost fight, but for the sake of being
consistent, I'll give her boss status. She's pathetically week.
A couple of shots with your Flashlight will beat her. She'll
just keep flying around you. Do her a favor and put her out of
her misery.

Once you've done that, go ahead and go down the steps where
Sakuya came from. We unlocked the door down here a long time
ago, so you shouldn't have any problems getting past the door.
If you need to know where to go, look at your map for the
door with the key. Go ahead and make your way there.

Before you enter that room, you will be in the electric room
again. Examine the radio on the desk. After you have examine
the radio, it looks like Sakuya is going to come into the room,
but she doesn't. A blue ball should appear on the shelf next
to the desk. Examine it to get another notebook. Now go open
the door that Sakuya appeared at a second ago. She's not there.

Go down the hallway and through the door. You should now be in
OْnK m{. You will have a brief cut scene. Once it's over,
start by going over to the right.

DOLL ALERT
You can't open the door, but you'll notice that there is a doll
sitting there on the bed. Take its picture.

There should now be a blue ball on alter. Examine it to get an
old looking book. Now go over to the other room to with the open
door in front of you. As you walk to enter the room, Sayaka
(Ruka's mom) will appear and ask Choushiro to give this piece of
the mask to Ruka for her. Once they've finished talking, go in
the room and take the mask piece. A ball should've appeared on
the table next to the bed. Examine it to find a memo. Go ahead
and go to the door to leave this room. Look around to check if
any other balls have appeared. One should've appeared to the
right of the door and another to the right of the alter. They
will be blue and red crystals. Once you've got them, go ahead
and leave this room.

Go ahead and walk through the hall and leave this room and the
electric room. As soon as you walk out the door of the electric
room, the screen will turn grey and Sakuya will appear. Turn
right and go up the steps to the storage room door. If Sakuya
appears up there, don't worry about her. Just unlock the door
and go through it.

You will now be back in the elevator hall. Save the game if you
want and head back to the hall past the save point.

GHOST LIST ALERT
Haibara will appear in front of you and walk through the doors
on the right. Take his picture before he disappears.

Well, Haibara is leading the way. Go through the doors. Once
you go down the stairs, you will be attacked by two ghosts. Take
them out and continue down to the other end of the hall and go
through the doors.

You will now be back in Haibara Hospital. As soon as you enter
and walk a little ways in, the phone downstairs will be ringing.
Run down and answer it. Go ahead and save your game, if you want,
and then get in the elevator and go down to the bottom floor.

After you proceed down the path for a second or two, you will
have a cut scene. When it is over, you will be attacked by whiny
and his friends. Go ahead and take them out. Once you've beaten
them, you will have a cut scene. At the end of it, Haibara will
run off and tell Choushiro to meet him at that place. What in the
world could he be talking about? Fear not. The place he's talking
about is the roof. Wait for the elevator to come back down. Once
you get in it, it will automatically take you to the second floor.

GHOST LIST ALERT
Right as you reach the second floor, Haibara will appear to the
right of you and run through the door. Quickly run out the
elevator and take his picture before he leaves.

Go ahead and go through the door Haibara went through. Walk
through the lounge to the next room. You might be attacked by
a ghost. If you are, take her out. She shouldn't give you any
difficulty. Once you've dealt with her, proceed to the other
end of the room.

GHOST LIST ALERT
As you get halfway through, Haibara will appear at the other
end running away from you. Take his picture before he's gone.

Go ahead and go to the next room.

GHOST LIST ALERT
Once you get close to the save point, Haibara will appear
running up the stairs. Take his picture.

Go up the stairs and through the next room to reach the roof
and the final showdown with Haibara. There will be a cut scene
(watch it before reading the next paragraph).

So now you know that Choushiro and Haibara have really been
dead all this time. That's why Choushiro was lying on the
ground when we first met him in Chapter 3. He was dead and he
never even knew it. Kind of depressing, isn't it?
Congratulations, you have beaten Chapter 10. Only two more
left. As always, you will be given the option of saving your
game and your pictures.

--------------------

xii. CHAPTER 11

--------------------

We begin the chapter with a summary of Ruka's exploits in
Chapter 9. When we finally have control of Ruka, we will be
where we left her in the entrance of her home. Go ahead and
go up the stairs in front of you, but don't go into the room.
Stay in the hall and walk around to your left.

GHOST LIST ALERT
You will see Ruka's father appear in front of you. Take his
picture. (Note: if you would've gone into the room, her dad
will appear, but it would be harder for you to get his
picture.)

After taking the picture, go ahead and enter the room to your
left that I just told you not to enter.

DOLL ALERT
Near the ceiling, you will see a bunch of dolls sitting on a
shelf. Take their picture.

There should also be a blue ball over in the cupboard next
to the wall. Examine it to find Type 61 film. Now you're
ready to walk out of this room and continue down the hall.

You'll notice that there is a door to your right. Open it.
You should now be in the l@K q̕. Over to the left of
the room is a dresser.

DOLL ALERT
The top right of the dresser is open. There is a doll sitting
inside. Go ahead and take its picture.

If a ball hasn't appeared already, one will appear on the
desk in front of the window. Examine it to find a notebook.
Once you have it, go ahead and leave this room but remember
it for later.

You should be back in the hall. Go ahead and go further down
the hall.

GHOST LIST ALERT
Ruka's father will appear again in front of you and will be
walk to the left. Quickly take his picture before he
disappears.

Go left down the hall Ruka's father was just in. At the far
end of the hall past the door, a ball should appear. Examine
it to find some blue crystals. Try opening the door there.
You won't be able to do so. A spiritual presence will appear
over the door. Take a picture of it to get a hint. A mask will
appear. Alright, we have to find three masks to open this door.
Go back down the hall to the l@K q̕.

Once inside, go to your right. A blue ball will appear over
the mask there. Examine it. You will remove the first seal
necessary for entering Ruka's father's room. Once the seal
is gone, Ruka's dad will attack you. He's really a pain to
deal with. You'll want to use Type 14 or Type 61 (if you
have a lot). He attacks quickly and likes to disappear before
he strikes. If you can, get him in a fatal frame combo and
blast him on your 3rd shot. If you find you don't hit him,
he'll grab you. If you can, try to avoid being grabbed.
It'll be a grueling fight. Try to stay in the middle of the
room so you can see him at all times. Remember, if you don't
hit him with your camera, start shaking the Wii Remote to
avoid his attack. Once you beat him, go ahead and leave the
room. Walk down the hall, but this time go through the door
to your right.

You should now be in the l@K ֑O̘L. To the left of
you is a save. Go ahead and save your game and buy healing
items if you need it because we're going to have to fight
Ruka's dad again. As soon as you take a few steps, you'll
notice that the phone starts ringing. Walk to the other end
of the hall to answer the phone. Right next to you on the
floor should be a blue ball. Examine it. It will be blue
crystals. Now go to the door to the left of the save (not
the one behind the phone). You will notice that there is a
mask on the door. Don't examine it yet. You will see that
there is a blue ball in the shoe rack. Examine it. It will
be Type 90 film.

DOLL ALERT
There is a doll in the bottom right part of the shoe rack.
Take its picture.

Go ahead and examine the mask now. You will now have broken
the second seal.

GHOST LIST ALERT
The moment that you break the seal, Sayaka appears behind
you. Turn around and take her picture.

Now go by the save point. Look at your map. You'll find
there is a door in this room leading to another one. Go over
to that door.

GHOST LIST ALERT
As you make your way to the door, Sayaka will appear in
front of you next to the door. Take her picture.

Go ahead and go through the door.

GHOST LIST ALERT
As you walk in the room, a ghost will appear out the window
to your right. Take her picture before she's gone.

Before proceeding to the next half of the room, look behind
you. There should be some dressers. Go to the dresser to
the far right with the door part of the way open.

DOLL ALERT
A doll will be inside the dresser sitting at its bottom.
Take its picture.

Now go to the second half of this room. Walk over to the
door. At the altar next to the door, a blue ball should
appear. Examine it to get a notebook. Now leave this room.

You'll enter into another hallway. Go down it until you
reach the stairs, but don't go up them. You'll notice that
there is a window to the right of the stairs.

DOLL ALERT
A doll will be sitting on a tree outside. Take its picture.

Now go up the stairs to the second floor. Skip the first
room you come to on your right, which is Sayaka's room. Go
all the way down the hall to Ruka's room.

GHOST LIST ALERT
As soon as you enter, you'll see Ruka and her mother at the
piano. Take their picture before they disappear.

Go over to the foot of Ruka's bed.

DOLL ALERT
Underneath the bed is a doll. Take its picture.

A blue ball should've appeared on the table. Examine it to
get Ruka's fourth diary. Once you have it, examine the
piano. Looks like we have to play the piano again. Go ahead
and do so. Once you're done, you'll hear Ruka's mom praise
her and tell her that she has something to give her. Okay,
it's time to leave this room and go to Sayaka's.

As soon as you enter, there will be a short cut scene. When
you have control of Ruka, head over to the closet that just
shut behind you. Examine it. There will be another cut scene.
You will find a mirror and a notebook inside. There will be
two balls on Sayaka's bed and one on the mask in the shelf
to the left of the bed. First go to the head of Sayaka's bed.

DOLL ALERT
The head of the bed isn't right up against the wall. There is
a little space between the bed and the wall. The doll will be
sitting on the floor in that little space. Take its picture.

Now examine the balls on the bed. One will be a letter and
one will be Type 90 film. Go over to the shelf and examine
the mask to break the last seal to get into Ruka's father's
room. Go look at the mirror at the foot of Sayaka's bed.
There should be a ball there now. Examine it to get some
blue crystals. Once you have those, turn around. To the
right of the table in front of the window, you'll see a
little stand. Go put the mirror in it. A spiritual presence
will appear on the wall. Take a picture of it. Once you're
done, a diagram will appear on the wall. Now we're done with
the second floor. Leave this room and go down the stairs.
Walk through the hall back to the room.

Walk to the other half of the room and go through the door.

You should now be back in the l@K ֑O̘L. As soon as
you take a few steps, Ruka's father appears again. Nothing
has changed since the last time we fought him. Try to find
a spot where you can see all around you. Remember to avoid
his attacks if you miss with your camera. Once you've beat
him, go ahead and save your game, restock, replenish life,
etc. Once you're done, go ahead and leave this room and
walk over to the room that Ruka's dad went in and go inside.

Once you're in, walk all the way to the far end of the room
and turn left.

GHOST LIST ALERT
Ruka's dad will appear in front of you sitting down at the
long table. Take his picture before he disappears.

A blue ball will appear in front of the mask on the table.
Examine it to get the mask and a piece of paper. To the
left of you, there will be a blue ball in the pile of
books. Examine it to get one of your Ruka's father's
ledgers. Once you have it, turn around and start walking
back to the door.

DOLL ALERT
There is a vase in the corner of the room next to the
dresser. The doll is inside the vase. Take its picture.

Now go ahead and head for the door. As you do, a ball will
appear in the bookshelf. Examine it to get another chart and
Ruka's father's second ledger. Once you've read through it,
your map will pop up and show you where we have to go. We
have to go to that room with the big noh mask. Alright, go
ahead and leave this room and work your way out of the house.

GHOST LIST ALERT
As you walk through the hall to reach the entrance, ghosts
will appear in the room to your right. Shoot through the
doorway to take their picture.

Go ahead and leave Ruka's house.

Once back in the hallway, a blue ball should appear on the
ground to the right. If not, just wait for it to materialize.
It will be blue crystals. Go ahead and make your way down
the hall.

GHOST LIST ALERT
After you walk down the hall a little ways, ghosts will
appear in front of you. Take their picture.

Continue down the hall and go through the door.

You'll now be in another hall. Turn left and proceed down it.

GHOST LIST ALERT
As you get close to the stairs at the end of the hall, ghost
will appear. Quickly take their picture before they go down
the stairs.

Go down the remainder of the hall and go down the stairs and
through the door.

You will now be in the room with the big noh mask on the
ceiling. As soon as you walk in, there will be a cut scene.
Ruka will recall being taken deep underground. Once the cut
scene ends, you will be attacked by the Maidens again. The
dancer won't be here this time. The Maidens attack you like
they did earlier. One will be a decoy and the other will
attack you from behind. Keep fighting the Maidens until
they're all gone. Once you've beaten them, put the mask on
the alter in the back of the room and then examine the
alter. You will have a puzzle to do. Press the C Button of
the Nunchuck to bring up the diagram we found earlier. To
solve this puzzle, it has to look exactly the way it is on
the diagram. It shouldn't take you that long to solve it.
Once you have solved the puzzle, the alter will move to
reveal a hidden door. Go in. Go a little ways down the path
to find a save. Go ahead and save your game and then
continue down the path.

GHOST LIST ALERT x4
As you follow the path, ghosts will appear 4 different
times walking ahead of you to lead the way. Take their
pictures.

Eventually you should come to a familiar gate. This is the
place that we were at with Misaki the last time we played
with her. You know what that means? Only one thing...
Anyway, continue past the torii gate. A ball will appear
at the first light on your left. Examine it go get red
crystals.

DOLL ALERT
Make your way up to the big wooden gate. To the right of
the gate is a stone pillar with light coming out of it.
Stop there and aim up near the roof of the gate. There is
a doll up there that is barely noticeable. You should hear
the doll sound so just keep looking until you get the blue
ring if you don't see it. Take its picture.

Go ahead and go through the wooden gate.

DOLL ALERT
As soon as you're in the room, go into camera mode and aim
up at the roof area again like you just did before.
There is a doll up there. Look for the blue ring and take
its picture.

Go ahead and proceed to the middle of the platform where
there is a piece of a mask. There will be a cut scene.
Once it's, over leave this room. As you make your way to
the door, Sakuya will appear and the screen will be grey.
Time to run. Run past her and out the door. You're going
to have to run all the way back up the stairs and out of
this area, so run like heck. Once you get close to the top,
your screen will turn back to normal and Sakuya will
disappear. Continue up the stairs and go through the door.

You will now be in the room with the giant noh mask.
There's nothing here for us to do. Go ahead and proceed
through the door.

You will be in the hallway again. Go up the stairs in
front of you, turn right, and then proceed down the hall.

GHOST LIST ALERT
As you get close to the door down the hall, Ruka's father
will appear. Take his picture before he's gone.

Walk down the remainder of the hall and go through the door.

You will be in another hallway, the one that took us to
Ruka's house. Go ahead and proceed down the hallway. After
going down a little ways, Ruka's father will appear again
and will be walking to the left. Take his picture before
he's gone. Walk down the hall and go through the door to
your left.

You will be in the room where we saw Ruka lying down in
pain.

GHOST LIST ALERT
As soon as you open the door, the ghost of Ruka, as a girl,
will be running to the door in the left corner of the room.
Take her picture.

Go over and try opening the door. It will be locked. A blue
ball should have appeared at the altar to the right of the
door. Examine it. It will be another piece of the mask.
Once you have the mask piece, go back to the door to the
left of you and go through it. It will be unlocked this time.

GHOST LIST ALERT
As soon as you walk through the door and take a few steps,
Ruka's ghost will appear again. Take her picture.

Proceed further into the room. You will have a cut scene of
Ruka calling out to her father. Once it ends, you will fight
Ruka's father (again).

BOSS FIGHT Ruka's Father
Okay, here we go again. It's time to fight Ruka's father
again. His method of attack is different this time around.
There are two ways he will attack you. He will either shoot
a skull at you or he will do a disappearing act and rush you
like he did when we fought him in Ruka's house. The
disappearing act is the hardest to catch him on because he
disappears to the right or left of you, and before you can
focus on him, he'll already have you. Well, you were able to
beat him three times up until now, so it shouldn't be any
different than the other times. If he shoots the skull at
you, the skull will fly after you. The only way that you can
get rid of it is to do damage to Ruka's father. Damaging
Ruka's father or getting hit by the skull will cause it to
disappear. Remember, if you miss him with your camera, shake
the Wii Remote to dodge his attacks. His attack does a lot
more damage than the scull. It'll be hard to get him in a
fatal frame combo, but if you do, make sure to hit him with
a power shot at the end. If you can't seem to get a fatal
frame on him, then go for shutter chances. Once you beat him,
you will have another cut scene and the chapter will end.
Congratulations, you've made it through Chapter 11. Only one
more to go! As always, you will have the option of saving your
game and pictures.

-------------------------

xiii. FINAL CHAPTER

-------------------------

As always, we start with a summary of Ruka's exploits in
Chapter 11. This is the last chapter of the game.

You will start with an cut scene of Ruka looking out the
window at a lighthouse. Once it's over and you're back in
control of Ruka, you will notice that we are in the
񌻓@Ւdm. Go ahead and go through the door in front of
you where we saw Ruka's father.

Proceed into the room. As you go a little ways in, there
will be a brief cut scene. Once the cut scene ends, don't
move. Turn to your right.

DOLL ALERT
There is a doll in front of you on the floor. Walk forward
a little bit and you should see it back against the wall.
Take its picture.

Go a little further into the room. If you take a look around,
there should be four blue balls in this room. Examine all
four of them, but examine the one on the alter last. Don't
worry if you don't see all four at first. As you walk around,
they will appear. One will be a book about the Tsukihami
Mask (Mask of the Lunar Eclipse), one will be a note written
by Ruka's father, one will be red crystals, and the one on
the alter will be another notebook. After reading through it,
you will go into another cut scene. Once it's over, you will
have the option of moving the alter in front of you. Press A
to do so. There will be a door there in front of you. Once
you go through this door, you won't be able to come back out
of it, so if there is still some things you need or want to
do before going in there, now is the only time you'll have
to do it. When you're ready, go ahead and go through the door.

You will now be in the 񌻓@zm.

GHOST LIST ALERT x3
As you proceed down this hall, Sakuya will appear in front of
you 3 times. Just aim in front of you and take her picture.

Go ahead and proceed down the hall. At the end, there will be
a door. Go ahead and go through it.

You will now be in the ґzm@. Go ahead and proceed down
the stairs and through the path. Eventually, you'll come to
a big round room filled with rocks. As soon as you take a few
steps, Ruka's father will appear. So far, there are two
versions of him: the one we fought in Ruka's house and then
the one we fought at the end of the Chapter 11 with the skull.
This time, we're fighting the one that we fought in Ruka's
house. Since the area is wide, you shouldn't have a problem
seeing where Ruka's father is at all times. Remember to shake
your Wii Remote to dodge his attacks. Once you've beaten him,
walk up to the small opening at the end of the room and
examine it. You will be asked if you want to crawl through
the hole. Go ahead and do so.

As you walk forward a few steps, you'll see that there is a
break in the path to your left. Go ahead and go to the left
first before going forward. The path will eventually lead to
a dead end, but there will be a ball on the ground. Examine
it to get another one of Ruka's father's notebooks.

DOLL ALERT
Right in front of you in the pile of rocks is a doll. It
isn't hard to find. Go up to it and take its picture.

With that done, go ahead and return back the way you came
and turn left. As you continue down the path a little bit
further, you will come to another fork where you can turn
left or right.

GHOST LIST ALERT
Once you reach the fork, Sakuya will appear to the right of
you. Take her picture before she disappears.

If Sakuya is going right, then that must be the way we have
to go. Let's follow Sakuya's judgment and go right. Proceed
down the path. You will eventually come to a tree.

GHOST LIST ALERT
As you get closer to the tree, Ruka's father will appear in
front of it sitting down. Take his picture.

Head over to the tree. As you get closer, there will be a
brief cut scene. Once it's over, Ruka's father will disappear.
You should now be at the ґzm@񌻃mK on your map. A ball should
appear in front of the tree. Examine it to get Ruka' father's
fifth notebook.

GHOST LIST ALERT
As soon as you read through it, Sakuya will appear behind you.
Take her picture before she's gone.

A ball should appear to the left side of the tree. Examine it
to get some red crystals. Go ahead and leave this area. When
you come to the fork, go down the path to the right. You will
eventually come to a door. Go ahead and go through it.

GHOST LIST ALERT
After taking a few steps forward, Sakuya will appear again in
front of you. Take her picture before she walks away.

Well, let's follow Sakuya again. Go down the path. Eventually
you will find yourself at the shore. If you look at your map,
you should now be at the Ǖl.

GHOST LIST ALERT
As soon as you take a few steps forward, a group of ghosts
will appear in front of you on the shore. Take their picture.

You'll notice that there is a blue ball next to the log in
front of you. Examine it to get some blue crystals.

Once you have them, go ahead and proceed down the shore.

GHOST LIST ALERT
Once you've gone a little ways forward, a ghost will appear
over at the torii gate in the water. When you have control
of Ruka, go ahead and take its picture.

Go ahead and continue to the cave at the opposite end of
the shore. Ruka will look up at the lighthouse and say a
few things.

DOLL ALERT
In front of the cave to the left is a pile of three stones.
There is a doll sitting on the ground next to the pile.
Take its picture.

With that done, go ahead and proceed through the cave.

GHOST LIST ALERT
As you proceed down the long path leading to the door of
the lighthouse, Sakuya will appear in front of you at the
door. Go ahead and take her picture.

Continue down the path to the door. Once you reach it, you
will be attacked by a ghost. She isn't hard to beat. You
can take her out with a couple of fatal frame combos. It
might be difficult to spot her since you're in a confined
space. Remember, you can always dodge her attacks if you
have to. Once you've beaten her, go ahead and go into the
lighthouse.

There will be a save to the left of you. Go ahead and save
your game, heal your life, stock up on items and film.
This will be the last save you have in the game. We have
to walk all the way up to the very top of the lighthouse,
which is going to take some time. On our way to the top,
we are going to have to fight Ruka's father 3 times. Once
you're done, go ahead and start going up the stairs. If
you have been conserving your points up until now, you
should be over 2.5 million. This should be more than
enough to get everything that will be unlocked after our
first play through the game.

After a minute or two of going up the stairs, you'll come
to a landing. As soon as you do, there will be a cut scene
and Ruka's father will appear. For this fight and the two
that will follow, he will be the skull one (the one we
fought at the end of Chapter 11). As always, dodge his
attacks. Once you've beaten him, you will get a black
notebook. A blue ball should've appeared over by the barrel.
Examine it to get some blue crystals. After you've gotten
them, go ahead and proceed up the next flight of stairs in
the center.

Eventually you will come to another landing. You will have
to go over to the stairs on the other side because the
stairs above you are damaged. Take those stairs by the wall
up to the next landing.

Once you reach the next landing, Ruka's father will appear
again. Go ahead and take him out and move over to the other
set of stairs in the center again. Go down first before you
go up. Halfway down the stairs, you'll find a blue ball. If
it's not there wait for it to appear. Examine it to get some
blue crystals. Now make your way up the stairs. As you go up,
you'll notice that your filament has turned blue, which means
there is a ghost presence in the area that we can take a
picture of. Unfortunately, we can't take it just yet, so
continue up the stairs. Once you reach the landing again,
Ruka's father will appear. Take him out. Once you have, you
will receive another notebook from Ruka's father and the last
piece of the Tsukihami Mask. Before going over to the steps
near the wall, continue up the stairs in the center.

DOLL ALERT
Once you've reached the damaged area, look up. There will be
a doll sitting in front of the door just above the damaged
stairs.

Once you have its picture, go down the steps and move over to
the stairs by the wall. Don't go up just yet. Go down the
stairs. A ball might appear in front of the window before the
stairs leading down. Examine it. I got a hand, but you might
get something different. Go ahead go down the stairs until
your filament turns blue. It's time to take that ghost picture
we couldn't take earlier.

GHOST LIST ALERT
When your filament turns blue, aim at the stairs in the center.
You should get the blue ring. Take the picture. If you don't
get the blue ring, go down the stairs a little bit more and
aim back at the center stairs. You should get it eventually.

Now go back up the stairs and go through the door at the top.

Once through the doors, there will be another set of stairs.

GHOST LIST ALERT
Once you reach the top of the stairs, Sakuya will appear.
Once you have control of Ruka, aim through the window to the
right of you to take her picture.

As you walk forward, a blue ball should appear on the bars
to the left of you. Examine it to get blue crystals. As you
walk forward, you'll notice that your filament has turned
red. Sayaka has appeared in front of us further down the path.

GHOST LIST ALERT
Go ahead and walk down the path until you get a clear shot of
her. She won't disappear until you reach her. You will see a
brief cut scene and then Ruka will pick up a book. After you
get the book, take out your camera, walk over to the guardrail
and get as close to it as you can.

DOLL ALERT
Down at the landing under you is a doll. Take its picture.

Now go ahead and climb the ladder in front of you to reach
the very top of the light house.

Sakuya will be waiting. It's time to settle this once and for
all. Now is a good time to bust out your Type Zero film and
your Type 90 film. You're going to need it.

BOSS FIGHT Sakuya.
If you were expecting a fight that would be one for the
record books, you're going to be a little bit disappointed.
Sakuya is nowhere near as hard as other final bosses in
previous Fatal Frame titles. She basically has two ways of
attacking you. She will either fly about and eventually come
close to you and dash down after you or she will appear in
front of the wooden shrine in front of you and fly high into
the air and do some attack that will take a whole lot of your
life without her even touching you. If you see her fly high
into the air, start shaking your Wii Remote. When the attack
comes, you'll dodge it. When she's flying around, just go into
camera mode and aim at her to charge your camera. She might
disappear on you. If she does, follow your filament to locate
hereby now, your camera should be maxed out. A fatal frame
combo using Type Zero film and a maxed out camera should take
her out.(If you can, refrain from using a blast shot to kill
her. Hopefully your camera is maxed out and you have 6 orbs
to store energy for a power attack. Why not use a blast attack,
you say? Well, if you want to do the missions afterwards, you
will have as much stored power as you have when you beat the
game. In other words, if you beat the game with 4 orbs of
stored power, you will have 4 orbs of stored power when you
start a mission. Some missions are easier if you have all the
orbs full of power at the beginning, so if you can, refrain
from using special enhancement lenses.) Once you have beaten
her, the game isn't over.

DOLL ALERT
On the floor of the right side of the wooden shrine housing
the piano is a doll. Take its picture. Congratulations, you
should have all 79 dolls.

Now walk up the wooden shrine to the piano. You are going to
have to play the entire song. You will have 3 tries to play
it right. If you mess up 3 times, Sakuya will reappear and
you will have to fight her again. This process will repeat
itself until you are dead or play it correctly. If you mess
up after 3 tries, get down from the wooden shrine because
Sakuya will appear right behind you and try to grab you.
Dodge her. If you've messed up, fight her off again and then
you will get another 3 tries to play the song. If you play
the song correctly, you will get a cut scene.

Congratulations, you have beaten the game. This is only one
ending. You get the second ending by beating the game on Hard
Mode, which will now be selectable. I hope you enjoyed the
game. Don't forget to save your game when you're given the
option to do so.

VII. UNLOCKABLES

----------------------------------------------------------------------

Once you have beaten the game and saved your data, you'll
notice that your saved data has a blue box around it. To
play with unlockables, such as costumes, added camera
functions, etc., you have to load this data at the title
screen. You will then get the Set Up menu which reads as
follows:

Q[X^[g (Game Start): This is for starting a new game with.

ReBj[ (Continue): This is for continuing a game.

~bV (Mission): This is for playing the missions.

RX`[ (Costume): This is for unlocking and setting
                  character costumes and accessories.

GNXg (Extra): This is for unlocking equippable functions
               and special enhancement lenses.

M[ (Gallery): This is for looking through galleries of
characters and ghosts. You can also watch
a promotional movie for this game, the
normal ending, and the second ending
(available after beating the game on hard).

Z[u (Save): This is for saving your settings (costumes, lenses,
etc) and mission data. (Be sure to save after
            completing missions, unlocking costumes, lenses,
            and accessories.)

To play a game with different costumes and accessories, you
have to put a check next to them. Things that can be worn must
be unlocked first. If there is no lock next to the name of
the costume or accessory, you can unlock it by spending your
points. Once an item is unlocked in the Extra menu, it will
automatically be available for your Camera/Flashlight in
Mission Mode and when you start a new game from the Set Up
Menu. Some equippable functions will not be equipped by
default, so you will have to equip them manually when you get
the camera in Chapter 1 as Ruka. If you find that items are
locked, you can unlock them by playing through the game again
on different difficulty modes, by completing missions, and by
finding more pictures of ghosts for your ghost list.
Unfortunately, not everything can be unlocked due to bugs in
this game (that Nintendo is aware about).

VIII. CLOSING REMARKS

----------------------------------------------------------------------

Well, I hope you really enjoyed this game and this walkthrough.
This was my first time writing one, and I have to say that it
was a lot of fun. If you happen to find this guide at any place
other than gamefaqs.com, please send me an e-mail and tell me.
Again, thank you for using this guide. Maybe I'll write another
one when the next fatal frame comes out.
