Question for Toy Story 3: The Video Game

Hi. I have tried to paint buildings by getting the cursor to become a paint brush, by then pressing B then A but it doesn't change.....Please help me and my 10 yr old son are living in fear from my 4 yr old daughter who really wants this done...lol
