In coastal Thailand how do I go back to the boat?

Question for Tomb Raider: Underworld

In coastal Thailand how do I go back to the boat? After I moved the bridge and opened the doors it tells me to pull a lever but there isn't one to pull. I went across to the other side and jumped on the wall but there's nothing to jump to. Was I supposed to bring something with me or find something along the way?
