NOt sure about the shark, but you need to go to the valcano overlook or inside the Temple area to find ore in order to craft a metal axe. I believe to also have to make the axe in the temple at the forge, which you will see in the temple.Looks like a sacrofice bench to me LOL.

I only way I found a shark was, I assigned my second sim to go fishing everyday and after awhile he finally got a shark, sorry if it's not much help but it's worth a try.

Yes go to Volcano Isalnd to that area {I think Volcano Overlook- wherever there are tide pools and you will catch the Tiger shark. I caught a bunch of Dolphin... And when the red bobbin goes down and my Sims REALLY struggles I expect a SHARK(change view and you will see bobbin go down, which means you got a bite)}BUT use a wood fishing rod and just keep casting. I actually caught my 1st tiger shark on I think Airplane Island, which according to Walkthrough is rare BUT can happen.
