Question for The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess

Please can someone help me with the following problem. I am in room four on the find the monkey level (where you have to get all of the monkeys to make a chain to enter Boss room). I am having problems unlocking the gate with the four windmills outside, to get to the chest. I have used my boomarang on each windmill following the 'Z' order. I have tried this all different ways, but the gate will not open. Does anyone know how to do this as I am stuck. I have all of the monkeys and have reached the Boss door, but apparently you need the big key in the chest behind these gates........

Yes you do need the big key, and you know about the Z pattern along the floor, your problem here might be that your looking at the Z from the wrong angle, you need to stand facing the gates head on looking at the chest then target the pattern. If that doesn't work you may have a glitch in your game.

I am having the same problem. I have a hard time believing it is a glitch in the game. I am standing on the bridge going in the "Z" pattern. Is there something else I need to do????
