Returing to Chapter 8-3

I used the return pipe to restock after dying and using up both of my life shrooms, and now it starts me from the beginning of the chapter. I've already lost Peach and Bowser, so I don't think I'll be able to go through the castle again at the parts where they were necessary... Am I stuck? I need help on how to get back to 8-3

Nope, you're absolutely fine. Once you've gotten through those areas once, you can go right through them without peach or bowser. All the lights are lit, and Mimi's traps are no more.

I'm in the same predicament the first commenter was in, but I can't get across a gap in the castle without Princess Peach now. I'm not sure what to do, Luigi's jump is just not far enough to get across. I'm in the section after passing the three Mr. I's.
