Frustrated and needs help (Ghostly Galaxy)

Usually, I'm able to handle and beat stars on my own. But a while ago, I unlocked Ghostly Galaxy, I beat the star Luigi and the Haunted Mansion no problem. But then I unlocked the star A Very Spooky Sprint. I've already got the grand star for the kitchen, but I want to get all the stars, I'm stumped on every other level I could possibly play instead of A Very Spooky Sprint. But I really want battle Bouldergeist. I've tried everything at this point, but I always have this feeling like I slow down when I'm in some kind of race, I'm not very fast when I use pullstars either. Is there any faster way of beating this star? Please answer!

When you race, there are times when you can cut diagonally and skip a pull star. It will take a lot of trial and error but you'll get it eventually. So definitely use the diagonal cutting technique.

I have a trick. Go through the course and at the end hit the bombs in the middle in a straight line. Then use the pipe at the finish planet to go to the starting planet. Then go through the race until you see the mini-launch star and go in the mini-launch star. Then go though to where you blew up the bombs and follow the path that you made. After you beat the Boo in the race, you get the star.
