Skylanders Spyro's Adventure Questions

My 5 year old son is on the last chapter of Skylanders, he has 18 Skylanders and always gets all his guys defeated. How long does he have to wait so they can re-store health? Also, can anyone advice which Skylander is the most powerful so he can defeat Kaos? Does such Skylander even exist? How difficult is it to defeat the bad guy? He has been playing the game for about 3 weeks 6 days a week, but now down to 2 days since I can NO LONGER TAKE THE CRYING AFTER DEFEAT!! PLEASE HELP!!!

There is no skylander, I think, that can defeat kaos alone. If it's the part where you go to kaos, use spyro's dash to get through the pointy jabby things and DO NOT go into the magic gate. If it's the battle you're stuck at, shoot at the minions with range attacks and get health from the DOOOOOOOOOMSHARKS.

Go back to the ruins so they can restore. Hope this helped. Also upgrade trigger happy to the max for is primary attack. Does 160 damage (On the wii) when you hold A button until it looks pinkish and white. Let go on him and he releases 160 damage. Kaos heals after you kill him once and then will get difficult. I took him down with the only 4 characters I had which are - Drobo, Trigger Happy, Spyro, and Gillgrunt. Yes I have only played the games for 2-3 days but if you can manage to save money for upgrades your character gets stronger. To upgrade go to the fairy near the corner and then talk to upgrade. Once a skylander has to "rest" he will be useless in that chapter until the chapter ends. If you restart the chapter, the skylander will be rested, even in this is only resting for ONE SECOND. The trick is that for the duration of the chapter being played, THAT skylander is unavailable.

For defeating Kaos, the trick is to use a whole battery of skylanders. As soon as one is killed, switch to another and keep fighting.

Another trick is to "level up" your skylanders to level 10. Replay lower levels to get this accomplished. Crystal Eye, is good this as there are few puzzles, but lots of bad guys to defeat. Leveling up gives your skylander more health and makes him a little tougher to kill.

Another trick is to "upgrade" your skylander by purchasing all the upgrades you possibly can. This requires gaving skyland treasure which is like money. Each upgrade costs a little more than the one before. Any level has treasure you can collect. Some of the gates have treasure, some don't, but gather treasure and then go to persephony and buy the upgrades. In your "skylanders" status page there is a section that lists the "powers" your skylander has. They all start with two powers. There are 8 upgrades available that give them MORE power. BUY THEM ALL if you can. This gives your skylander more PUNCH and POWER when shooting.

Another trick is to put the appropriate HAT on your skylander depending on what he will be doing. Some Hats provide more speed, some more "critical hits", some more armor, some more elemental power.

When you get into a BOSS fight, TRY TRY TRY to avoid getting into a "close up" fight. You will get killed. Try to stay as far away from your opponent as possible and "shoot" them from a distance. REMEMBER your skylanders additional powers, Some of those can come in very handy.

Finally, when getting into all the "end of chapter" "BOSS" fights, use your strongest skylander. One that can shoot from a distance helps. Or one that delivers a powerful punch. Spyro, Hex, Cynder, are powerful "shooters". Eruption and Stump Smash are powerful hitters.

IF YOU HAVE A FRIEND OR RELATIVE that you can talk into playing along with you in "CO-OP" mode using two controllers and TWO skylanders on the portal at the same time, the TWO of you can fight together to defeat Kaos' menions.

It is possible to make it through a BOSS fight with only one skylander, but it has to be someone that can shoot from afar, AND you have to have played that level over and over and OVER until you have learned all the little tricks that work for THAT particular fight. The FIGHTS are always the same. The only variation is HOW YOU MOVE determines where the opponents go. It is better to kill CERTAIN opponents first and then go for the others. If you play OVER and OVER, you will figure this out. Try different tactics, try different buttons. If you purchased the add-on adventure packs, try using some of the little extra's that came with them. The ghost swords are handy because for TWO minutes they will fight with you. Unfortunately, two minutes isn't long enough to get through ALL of Kaos' menions, but if you wait until he sends them all at once, the ghost swords can be very helpful.
