They appear as your complete various chapters. The first one appears in the ruins next to persephone's podium after you complete OilSpill Island. The next is down on the beach after Leviathan Lagoon. Oil the Robot up against the cliff to open the gave to the right of the rock for a Third. The fourth is tough. Use a water skylander to go out into the ocean to the right and beyond from the clamtron and JUMP on the bounce pads. Takes a bunch of practice but eventually you will get up to the topmost rock to the Winged Sapphire. The fifth is in Stonetown. Attack the rock Arbo came out of. So far, I have only found 5 of the 10 butterflies.
