I live in Switzerland and I want to buy a skylander, but I do not know if it will work with my AMERICAN portal of power. I also have an AMERICAN Wii and AMERICAN skylanders game.

The little skylander figures should be totally interchangeable regardless of voltage on the portal. The figure and the portal communicate using a close proximity "chip" in the base of the figure. Activision would have used the same communication voltages and frequencies across ALL platforms regardless of voltage in the local country. To do anything else would have created a logistical nightmare for them, so you should be safe. I know some American's are buying skylanders on EBAY from suppliers in various foreign countries, simply because SOME of the skylander figures have become extremely scarce. I have been trying to find CAMO and WARNADO at a reasonable price unsuccessfully. I guess I will just wait for Activision to "re-release" them to the stores which should be sometime in June 2012.
