How to save your game in skylanders the game for wii

It saves automaticly when you see spiros face down in the botom left corner on top of your caracters life, experience andmoney
To end or stop playing the game when your in the Middle of the game/section you have to press the plus on the wii controller then press exit and finally you press main menu and say yes and it will automatically save the profile. Trust me, I tried it many times and it worked
I just tried this and here are a few more details...
I removed the Disc from the Wii, turned it off and on again. Re-inserted the Disc went threw the startup >>>>
The game always starts with the save option. Choose Yes when asked for the save option.
Then you need to wait for the video to play out. When the video play has completed playing, press the + button. This has an option of the chapters completed. Scroll through to the last chapter the Wii saves (in my case 22) then press A button and your back to the start of chapter 22.
I was playing Chapter 23 not the last saved Chapter 22. The Wii doesn't normally save the chapter I'm up to. This is a bug or purposely designed that way.
There is no magic or special requirements to saving the last chapter completed... Hope this helps someone
