When fighting the fish observe the instruction for Left. Right and reeling in, I would suggest setting the clutch to 5 and when you set the hook you can reduce it down slowly to 1 and then increase to 2 or 3 when reeling in. But I would add the heavy duty line to your tackle selection and the select the line when fishing for the bigger species like Flathead catfish and striped Bass, not to mention Sturgeon, also during the playing of the fish remember the forward option too, it will flash up too.

Use a heavier line and keep reeling up the slack and observe the instructions during the playing of the fish.. Left, Right, Up, Reel in. I would set the reel to 5 and keep the slack to a minimum and then you can set the hook.. Left-trigger, backwards on right-stick but this is Xbox 360 version. If you have cast out quiter a distance and set the hook there is a greater chance you will break the line, try at distances no further than 50, remember you are in a boat and not bank fishing so you don't have to cast out a long disatnces so much.
