In the magma zone, you must first battle Chimchar a total of five times. Then he should say something about his brother coming to visit. Then Infernape will come to play. Battle him to become his friend.

You have to go to the magma zone, battle chimchar 5 times and then after you talk to him the 5th time you battled him a sign will show up and say: infernape came to play and you have to battle him to be his friend

You have to go to the lava zone. Then battle chimchar up to 5 times (it only took me 2) then he will say something about you being as strong as his brother and then Infernape will come.
